Spaghetti Pie is a delightful twist on traditional spaghetti, where cooked pasta is combined with cheese, eggs, and other savory ingredients, then baked into a pie form for a hearty and comforting meal.
This fun and filling dish takes classic spaghetti and transforms it into a sliceable, cheesy creation that’s perfect for feeding a crowd or making ahead for busy weeknights. It’s everything you love about pasta!
At the heart of spaghetti pie is cooked spaghetti mixed with a blend of eggs, cheese, and sometimes a little butter or cream. This forms the “crust” or base of the pie once it’s pressed into a baking dish or pie plate. It’s baked just enough to set, creating a sturdy layer that holds its shape and has just the right amount of bite.
The filling is where the magic happens. A rich cheese sauce and tomato sauce is spooned over the pasta base. The flavors soak into the spaghetti while baking, adding depth and a hint of sweetness from the tomato. Then comes the cheese, a generous layer of mozzarella, Parmesan, or ricotta (or all three) gets melted on top for a bubbly, golden finish.
What makes spaghetti pie so appealing is its versatility. You can keep it classic or customize it with vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers. It can be made vegetarian or spiced up with chili flakes or hot sausage for a little heat. Plus, it slices beautifully, making it easy to serve for lunchboxes, parties, or leftovers the next day.
Spaghetti pie brings a playful twist to a traditional pasta dinner. It’s comforting, filling, and just a little bit nostalgic – the kind of dish that makes everyone at the table smile.

This is such a unique take on spaghetti! I really loved it 😂
I dunno, it felt a bit weird to me. Spaghetti in pie form? Who even thought of this? Meh.
My Italian grandma would disown me for making this, but I loved it! 😂🥳
Ha! Your grandma might not approve, but this looks like a fun twist on pasta! 😂 Can’t wait to try it out!
I didn’t have Parmesan, used feta instead! Still turned out ok. 😉
Eat, bake, love it!
Looks great but I’m a bit skeptical. Spaghetti pie? Really? 😬
Yummy! My kids ate it all and asked for more! Would definitely make again.
Easy peasy! I added some veggies, like bell peppers and mushrooms, and it turned out great! Yum!
I used way too many eggs, ended up with an eggy mess! Next time I’ll follow the recipe better.
Is this even real cooking? Just a bunch of pasta and cheese. Come on people, let’s elevate our meals! 🤨
Tried it but the spaghetti was too mushy. Maybe cook less? 🤔
That sounds weird. You sure you followed the recipe right? Spaghetti shouldn’t get mushy if cooked as per instructions. 🤔 Maybe your pot is too hot?
I totally get you! I cooked mine for too long once and it turned into a mushy mess too. Less time is definitely the way to go! Good luck next time! 🍝
This is basically just spaghetti casserole… not sure if that’s pie.
This was surprisingly good! Can’t believe how much my kids loved it! Will definitely make again.
Wow, I’m so glad your kids liked it! My picky eaters were a fan too, so I guess it’s a winner!
Mmm! I made this for dinner tonight and it was delicious! Will add to my favorites!
I’m so glad you loved it! It’s a family favorite here too! 😍
Really? I found it kind of bland. Did you add anything else?
Can you use different pasta? I got penne instead of spaghetti 🤷♀️
?? Cooks fine, but why not just make spaghetti like a normal person?
I think it’s fun to mix things up! Spaghetti pie is a creative twist! Who says you can’t get creative in the kitchen?
But a normal spaghetti is simple and tasty! Why complicate it? This seems too fancy for just a pasta dish.
So cheesy and delish! The best comfort food ever! 💖
I don’t really get the whole spaghetti as a pie thing… Seems weird.
It might sound strange at first, but it’s really tasty! Think of it like a different kind of lasagna. You should definitely give it a try!
I honestly think it’s kinda gross. I mean, spaghetti is meant to be twirled around a fork, not pie-ed! Who even came up with this?!
Why do we need eggs in this? Isn’t it just pasta with sauce?
This sounds like something my aunt would make in a hurry… and it’s actually kinda weirdly good? 😅 I’m giving it credit.
Honestly this is genius—spaghetti + pie vibes is my kind of comfort food. 😄 The eggs/cheese combo would hold it together really well.
Wait… marinara on top like that? I don’t know, sounds a little off to me, but if it’s baked 45 mins and sets, maybe it works. I’d still add more sauce though.
Not really a fan. The texture was off for me. 😕 Maybe I did something wrong.
I’m sorry to hear that! Did you use fresh spaghetti? Sometimes the type of pasta can change the texture. Keep trying though! 😄
I think the texture can be a bit different depending on how well you mix it. I had to experiment a bit! But don’t give up, it’s a fun dish!
Best recipe ever! I used fettuccine instead of spaghetti, still turned out great!
Wow, this spaghetti pie is a hit! Loved the cheesy blend and the crust! Will make again!
Not a fan of how this turned out. The texture was off, and it was kinda mushy. Sorry but I’ll stick to traditional spaghetti.
This recipe is amazing! My kids loved it and it was so easy to make. Will make again!
So glad to hear it! Spaghetti Pie is a hit in my house too. It’s so easy and delicious!
I don’t see the point of mixing spaghetti and pie. It just didn’t taste right to me. Maybe I’m not a fan of fusion food.
Spaghetti in a pie? That just sounds weird, not sure how people like it. I like my spaghetti plain or with sauce. No cheese pie!!!
I totally get you! Fusion food can be hit or miss. Maybe I’ll stick to classic spaghetti next time.
I dont get it, like how do you slice spaghetti? Seems weird, my kids didn’t eat it.
So easy to make! My kids devoured it. I added some veggies to sneak in more nutrients.
Great idea adding veggies! I’ll try that next time. My kids loved it too!
I don’t know.. spaghetti in a pie form?? Seems strange…
I thought the same thing! But it’s actually pretty tasty. You gotta try it!
Too cheesy for me. I like spaghetti plain, this was overwhelming!
I don’t know about this… Spaghetti in a pie? Seems kinda weird. I might stick to regular pasta.
I totally get you! Spaghetti in a pie does sound odd, but it can be really tasty! Give it a try, you might be surprised!
Nah, regular pasta is the way to go. Who thought pie and spaghetti would mix? Sounds like a mistake to me.
Made this for dinner and it came out super comforting—crispy top, melty inside. The marinara on top is such a good idea. Will definitely repeat!
I tried it but mine was kinda dry even though I baked it the full 45. Next time I’ll probably use a bit more marinara or bake for less time. Still tastes good though!
Yes!! Totally agree—mine gets that crispy top too and the inside stays melty. The marinara really makes it feel like a whole “lasagna vibe” without all the work.
I used whole wheat spaghetti and it turned out great. Healthier option! 👍
Spaghetti pie? More like spaghetti pie-in-the-sky. Too good to be true!
Sounds kinda weird tbh. Do spaghetti and pie even go together?
Looks amazing! I’ve never tried spaghetti like this, but I’m totally in!
Instructions are a lil confusing…but it turned out alright I guess.
Spaghetti pie sounds cool! But is it actually pie? Like, are we supposed to eat it with a fork or what? Confused!
This recipe is a game changer! I was skeptical at first, but it turned out amazing! My kids loved it too. Will definitely make again!
Skeptical? Really? I don’t think spaghetti should be a pie! Sounds weird, but glad it worked for you.
I’m so happy to hear that! My kids are super picky, so I’m definitely giving this a try. Thanks for sharing! 😊
A bit too cheesy for my taste, but my husband loved it! 🙄
This spaghetti pie was a total hit! My kids loved it, and it’s so easy to make. Will be adding this to my regular rotation!
I’m so glad your kids loved it! This dish is definitely a winner for busy parents. What other recipes do you usually make?
Spaghetti pie? That sounds weird. I don’t know if I’d serve that. Isn’t spaghetti just supposed to be… spaghetti?
Whoa, this was a fun twist on pasta! I never thought to bake spaghetti, but I’m totally doing this again. Yummy!
Spaghetti pie? I thought pies were sweet, not savory. I’m confused. 😕
Took me too long to make, and my oven is acting up, so it got burnt at the bottom. 😞
This spaghetti pie tastes amazing! A hit at dinner, everyone loved it!
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about a spaghetti pie. But the egg + cheese binding actually works! Texture was like crispy edges with a gooey middle. Will make again.
Super easy to make! I added some ground beef to the mix and it was so good. Best thing I’ve cooked all week!
Followed the recipe but it was too dry. Maybe I cooked it too long?
I had the same issue! It can get dry if baked too much. Maybe try reducing the baking time next time?
Hmm, did you mix it well? Sometimes it needs more sauce to stay moist. Just a thought.
Nah, I don’t get it. Spaghetti + pie dish = just baked pasta. Would rather do lasagna or plain baked ziti.
Honestly I get it—it’s basically baked pasta but with a crusty golden top and a sliceable “pie” vibe. Lasagna is great, but this is faster and cleaner than layering noodles forever.
I’m with you though, if you got time for spaghetti pie, why not just bake ziti? Also the eggs make it kinda frittata-ish? Not bad, but not my first pick.
Spagetti pie! I never heard of that! But hey, if it works it works I guess!
It looked nothing like the picture! Disappointing.
I tried it but it didn’t turn out like the pic. My cheese didn’t melt properly. There must be a trick!
How did you even mess up melted cheese? Just stick it back in the oven for a bit longer next time.
I had the same issue! I think maybe my cheese was too cold? Try letting it sit out before baking next time. Good luck!
Not what I expected but my husband ate it all! Next time I’ll add more cheese. 😍
So delish! But I added some sausage and it made it even better. Yummy!
I dunno, it tasted a bit weird. Maybe I added too much cheese? Can’t recommend.
This looks amazing! Can’t wait to try it. My kids will love it!
Yummy!! Pure comfort food. Will definitely make again!
Looks good but isn’t spaghetti just pasta? Why call it pie? Seems off.
I can’t wait to try this! It looks so easy and delicious. Thanks for sharing!
Spaghetti in a pie? Who thought of this?! Weird but surprisingly nice.
Super easy recipe. I added some ground beef to it and it was bomb! 10/10.
Glad you liked it! Adding beef sounds like a great idea. I’ll have to try that next time!
My spaghetti pie stuck to the dish even though I greased it. Maybe I didn’t press the surface down enough? Still tasted great though—just a little messy when slicing.
I tried it but forgot the marinara sauce. It was a bit bland… Make sure you don’t forget the sauce! 😂
180°C for 45 mins felt too long for my oven—top got a little too dark. Taste was good, just adjust timing.
Good point—ovens run hot. I usually check at 30–35 minutes and pull it when the top is golden instead of waiting the full 45.
OMG! So cheesy and creamy. I might eat the whole thing myself!
Great recipe! I was afraid it’d be too dry, but it turned out perfectly moist. Really tasty with garlic bread!
My ricotta didn’t really soften so I had little lumps. I think I needed to microwave it or mix longer. Still edible and my family ate it anyway.
Super easy recipe for a busy night! Will make again, thanks for sharing!
Easy. Tasty!
Easy and tasty for sure! 😄 That cheesy top combo sounds perfect.
Made this tonight and it came out so comforting. The cheese blend is perfect, and the marinara on top gives it that cozy lasagna vibe. I let it sit 5–10 minutes and the slices were way cleaner—would recommend!
The flavor is decent, but it feels a bit cheesy overload for me. Maybe reduce mozzarella by like 25g and it’ll be more balanced.
Totally get that—mozzarella can dominate fast in this kind of bake. Reducing it by ~25g should keep the stretch but cut the “cheesy overload.” I’d also consider adding a little extra ricotta or parmesan for balance.
I was skeptical about a spaghetti pie, but wow. The egg really holds everything together. Next time I’ll add some garlic too.
Pretty good idea, but mine was a bit too salty (maybe my parmesan was already salty). Also I think 45 minutes was slightly short for my oven—next time I’ll bake until it’s more firm in the center.
I dunno… 45 min always sounds short to me. Mine would still be kinda mushy in the middle at 45. I usually go like an hour and cover it with foil if the top gets too brown. But hey, if it’s golden it *might* still be fine 😅
Good catch! Parmesan can definitely be salty—next time I’d either reduce the added salt or use less parmesan. Also, ovens vary a lot; baking until the center firms up makes perfect sense.
I don’t really get how this is pie… It just looks like baked spaghetti.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy! My new favorite dish! 🥳
I was skeptical at first… Spaghetti in a pie? But wow, this actually works! So good!
This was delicious! My kids loved it! I added some spinach too.
Pretty tasty, but mine wasn’t fully set after 45 min. I ended up baking 10 more and it was perfect. Still a great concept though.
I didn’t press it down enough and it kind of cracked when I sliced it. The texture was still fun though—like a cheesy pasta crust.
What in the world is this? Spaghetti in a pie? Yuck! Sorry, I can’t get behind this one.
I followed it exactly, but the top didn’t get “golden brown” until the very end. And 180°C seems low? Could be my oven, idk. Flavor is solid, just needs tweaking for me.
Oh yeah, 180°C can be a bit low depending on your oven. I usually do closer to 190–200°C and keep an eye on the color—sometimes my top takes longer too.
I think 180 is fine, but you gotta let it bake uncovered and maybe broil it for like 1-3 min at the end to get that golden brown. Otherwise the sauce sits there and steams.
