When you think of French toast, you probably picture thick slices of bread soaked in a rich egg mixture, crisped to perfection and dusted with powdered sugar. But what if you took that classic dish and gave it a little upgrade? Enter Croissant French Toast, flaky, buttery croissants transformed into a decadent breakfast treat that feels like a special occasion, even if it’s just a regular morning.
What makes Croissant French Toast so irresistible is the combination of textures. The croissant’s delicate, airy layers soak up the egg custard, absorbing all the cinnamon, vanilla, and a hint of sweetness. When cooked in a hot skillet, the outside crisps up beautifully, while the inside stays soft and rich. It’s a bite of perfection that’s as indulgent as it sounds.
This dish takes just a few extra minutes to prepare compared to regular French toast, but those extra minutes make all the difference. The croissants provide a buttery, slightly sweet base that elevates the flavor profile, making each bite a melt-in-your-mouth experience. Paired with maple syrup and a sprinkle of powdered sugar, it’s almost like having dessert for breakfast, without being too heavy.
Croissant French Toast also has room for customization. You can top it with fresh berries, whipped cream, or even a drizzle of Nutella for a chocolatey twist. If you’re feeling adventurous, adding a few dollops of mascarpone cheese or a dash of cinnamon to the batter can give the dish a new level of richness.
This is the kind of breakfast you serve when you want to impress guests or treat yourself to something truly special. It’s perfect for leisurely weekend mornings, holiday brunches, or any occasion that calls for a little indulgence. Croissant French Toast is a delightful twist on a classic that will quickly become a favorite.

Followed the steps exactly, but mine got a bit soggy. Next time I’ll dip quicker and let the custard drip off first. Still yummy though!
Do you really need to use croissants? I think any bread would work just fine. Less fancy!
The croissants browning part is the only tricky bit. I burned the first batch (too hot), but the second one was perfect once I lowered the heat.
Wow, just wow! I never thought to make French toast with croissants. My new fav breakfast! ⭐️
I’m so glad you loved it! Croissants make everything better. 🥐✨
It turned out okay, but a bit soggy for my taste. Maybe less milk next time?
okay.
It was good but kinda hard to make. My croissants a burnt.
Absolutely delicious! I made this for breakfast and my kids loved it! Will definitely make again.
This sounds amazing! I bet the kids were super happy. I gotta try it out soon, thanks for sharing!
I did it with butter croissants instead of regular ones and wow! So rich and buttery. My family loved it.
I only had stale croissants, but it still came out great! Surprised how yummy this was!
Powdered sugar dusting is a must. Without it, it just felt like eggy bread. Also maple syrup is obviously the right call.
Tried this recipe and it was an absolute disaster! The croissants got all soggy and burnt. Never again!
Yum!!! So fluffy and delicious 🙂
This sounds amazing! I’m definitely trying this for brunch. Fluffy is the best!
I dunno, croissants are already good on their own. Why mess with perfection? 😕
Yum!! Best breakfast ever! I topped it with strawberries too. Perfect!
This is a game-changer! I’ve always loved croissants and now this French toast is just amazing. Love the cinnamon kick!
Sounds divine! Can’t wait to try it myself. Croissants are the best!
Pretty good, but mine got a little soggy even though I cooked 3 minutes per side. Might be because my skillet runs hot—still tasty though.
This was delicious! The croissants make it so flaky and yummy. I added some berries on top, and it was perfect!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Adding berries is a great idea for some extra freshness. 🍓
Just made this for breakfast and my kids went crazy for it! Will definitely make again.
That sounds amazing! I’m glad your kids loved it. I’m definitely trying this for my family next weekend!
Croissants for breakfast? Sounds fancy. But isn’t that just regular french toast with croissants? 🤔
Hmmm, is it really French if it’s made with croissants? 🤔 Kinda feels wrong but I’ll give it a try.
Not sure about “about 2–3 minutes”… I needed closer to 4 per side to get golden. Also I burned one batch because I didn’t add enough butter.
The instructions were a bit vague. Do we need to let the croissants sit in the mix before cooking?
Yes, you should let them soak in the mixture for a minute or two for better flavor!
I don’t know. I thought you just dip it quick and then cook it? Why let it sit? Seems odd to me.
Absolutely delicious! I added some berries on top and it was a hit!
Croissants for breakfast? Are we fancy now? 😂 But yeah, this is kinda good if you like sweet stuff.
Very easy to make! I didn’t have powdered sugar so I used regular sugar instead, still yummy! 🙂
Not bad, I just don’t like cinnamon much, but that’s on me.
I get that! You could always leave out the cinnamon next time. The croissants are so buttery, they’d still be delish!
Cinnamon is great tho! But I see your point, not everyone likes it. Have you tried nutmeg instead? It might work!
I didn’t think croissants could be made into french toast? I was skeptical, but wow, it was really good!
I tried this recipe but it didn’t work for me. My croissants got too soggy. Maybe I dipped them too long?
Yum! The cinnamon adds a nice touch. Will definitely make again. 👍
Ok ngl, I expected “meh” because it’s basically toast + syrup vibes, but the croissant makes it feel fancy. Would make again.
I’m not convinced about 2-3 minutes per side… my pieces took closer to 4-5 minutes to get golden. Maybe pan thickness matters.
I did 2 min an it was fine tho. Maybe ur pan was cold or pieces thick? Like if u dip too long they get soggy. Try medium low heat.
Yeah I totally agree—2-3 min per side sounds optimistic. Mine took longer too until the custard fully set and the outside actually browned.
