Baked brie with blackberry jam is the ultimate appetizer, offering a perfect balance of creamy, gooey cheese and the sweet, slightly tart flavor of fresh blackberry jam. This elegant and simple dish is ideal for special occasions, holiday gatherings, or a cozy evening with friends. The warmth of the baked brie and the fruity richness of the jam create a comforting, delicious bite that’s impossible to resist.
The star of the dish is, of course, the brie cheese. Brie’s creamy texture and mild, buttery flavor become even more indulgent when baked. As the cheese warms in the oven, it softens and becomes luxuriously smooth, making it perfect for spreading on crackers or bread.
The blackberry jam adds a fruity contrast to the richness of the cheese. The sweet jam, with its vibrant berry flavor, perfectly complements the mild brie, while the slight acidity of the blackberries adds a depth of flavor that elevates the dish. A drizzle of honey or a sprinkle of fresh thyme or rosemary can be added to enhance the flavors and give the dish a more complex, aromatic touch.
To make this dish even more visually appealing, it can be served in a small baking dish, with the brie wheel intact, allowing guests to scoop out the soft, melted cheese and pair it with the jam. Serve it alongside crispy baguette slices, crackers, or fresh fruit like apple slices or grapes for an added layer of texture and freshness.
Baked brie with blackberry jam is a versatile appetizer. You can easily swap out the blackberry jam for other fruit preserves, such as raspberry, fig, or apricot, depending on your preference. It’s also perfect for pairing with a glass of white wine, sparkling wine, or even a light cocktail, making it a hit at any party.

Ingredients
- 1 wheel Brie cheese standard size, about 8 ounces
- 2 tablespoons blackberry jam or jam of your choice
- 1 sheet puff pastry thawed if frozen
- 1 egg beaten for egg wash
- 1 tablespoon water to mix with the egg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to ensure it’s even.
- Place the Brie wheel in the center of the pastry. Top the Brie with blackberry jam.
- Fold the puff pastry up and around the Brie, sealing it well, and trimming any excess pastry if necessary.
- Mix the beaten egg with water to make an egg wash, then brush the surface of the wrapped Brie with the egg wash.
- Place the wrapped Brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Easy to make and so delicious! Will definitely make again. 10/10 recommend!!
I dunno, I thought it would be more melty? It was kinda dense. Maybe I didn’t bake it long enough?
Maybe try baking it a bit longer next time? Sometimes it just needs that extra time to get all melty and gooey! 😋
Nah, I think brie is overrated. I put craft cheese instead and it was better. Just my opinion.
This was amazing! My friends loved it at the party. Perfect blend of sweet and savory! 😊
Baked Brie is just the best! I can’t believe how easy it was. Thanks for sharing! 🎉
Can’t believe people like this. Too cheesy for me and the jam was weird with it. Just not my thing 🤷♀️.
Nah, I think it’s delish! The jam adds flavor! You just might not like the mix. Keep trying different combos!
I totally get that! It’s definitely an acquired taste. But I think the cheesiness actually contrasts sweet jams nicely. Maybe give it another go without the jam?
Baked from frozen! LOL. It was still good. Puff pastry magic, I guess? 🌟
Baked from frozen? That’s a game changer! 😄 Definitely trying this next time!
I found the puff pastry a bit tricky to work with. My wrapping skills need improvement! But it tasted good.
This was a hit at our party! Everyone loved it, especially with the blackberry jam. Will definitely make again!
Glad to hear that people enjoyed it! The blackberry jam sounds like a perfect touch. What else did you serve at the party?
So good! But I used strawberry jam instead and it was still awesome. Who knew brie could be so fancy?!
Fancy? It’s just cheese wrapped in pastry, right? I dunno about fancy…
I never thought of using strawberry jam! That sounds great! I gotta try that next time.
Yum! I could eat this every day! Perfect for my wine nights. Thank you for sharing this!
This sounds amazing! I love Brie and blackberry together. Perfect combo for a party!
Looks good, but is Brie really the best cheese for this? I’ve seen it made with cheddar too.
I tried it but I think I baked it too long. It turned out a bit burnt 😬. Should have watched it more closely.
Don’t worry! A little burnt just adds character. Next time, maybe set a timer or something? 😄
