There’s something undeniably comforting about a freshly baked peach pie. With its golden, flaky crust and sweet, juicy peach filling, it’s the epitome of summer dessert bliss. Whether you’re using fresh, ripe peaches or frozen ones, this pie is a celebration of seasonal fruit at its best.
The key to an incredible peach pie starts with the filling. Fresh peaches are peeled and sliced, then tossed with sugar, a dash of cinnamon, a squeeze of lemon juice, and a bit of cornstarch to help thicken the juices as the pie bakes. The combination of cinnamon and lemon brings out the natural sweetness of the peaches, making each bite feel like a little burst of sunshine. If you like, you can add a pinch of nutmeg or ginger for extra depth of flavor, but the peaches alone are usually the star of the show.
Next, you’ll need a buttery, flaky pie crust. You can make your own from scratch or use store-bought, but either way, the crust should be tender enough to crumble with each bite but sturdy enough to hold in all that delicious peach filling. Roll out your dough and line a pie dish, then pile in the peach mixture. Top with another layer of dough, crimp the edges, and cut a few slits in the top to allow steam to escape during baking.
Baking the pie at a high temperature ensures that the crust gets golden and crisp while the peach filling becomes perfectly bubbly. Once the pie is out of the oven, let it cool slightly so the filling can set, making it easier to slice.
Serve your peach pie warm or at room temperature, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for the ultimate treat. It’s perfect for summer barbecues, family dinners, or any occasion when you want to bring a little homemade sweetness to the table. Every slice is a reminder of why peach pie is a timeless classic.

Peaches are my favorite fruit! This pie was the best thing I’ve ever made.
Yum! Made this for a barbecue, everyone raved about it. 🍑🥧
Too many steps for a pie! Can’t we just buy one? 😒
Why lemon juice? I didn’t have it and it came out fine without.
My crust was burnt and the filling was too soupy. Not impressed.
I totally get that! It’s so frustrating when the pie doesn’t turn out as expected. Maybe try covering the edges with foil next time to prevent burning?
Burnt crust? You must’ve left it in too long. But soupy filling? That sounds like the flour didn’t thicken it or too much juice got in. Sad to hear it didn’t work! 🙁
Had to make some adjustments, didn’t have enough peaches. Still turned out ok.
It’s okay. I ended up burning the crust. Shouldn’t have trusted the oven timer.
Okay pie, but not as good as my grandma’s recipe. Gotta stick to what I know!
This peach pie is amazing! So sweet and juicy, my family loved it.
I totally agree! This pie is like a slice of summer. My kids couldn’t get enough of it!
Really? I found it a bit too sweet for my taste. Maybe I used too much sugar? 🤔
I don’t understand why you would put lemon juice in a pie? Isn’t that for fish?
Lemon juice helps balance the sweetness of the peaches! It’s not just for fish. Trust me, it makes the pie taste fresher!
This pie is absolutely delicious! The peaches were so juicy and the crust was perfect. My family loved it!
Look nice, but too much sugar for me. Maybe I’ll try it with less sugar next time.
Less sugar? Why even bother? It’s called peach pie for a reason. Just enjoy the real deal!
You can definitely adjust the sugar to your taste! I usually use just half a cup and it’s still sweet enough. Enjoy your baking!
Yum!!! I could eat this all day long! Best peach pie ever! 😍
Simple and delicious! Just what I needed for summer. I love peaches!
I tried this recipe, but my pie came out so watery. I think I put in too many peaches. Not sure if I will try again.
This peach pie is amazing! I made it for a family gathering and everyone loved it. The flavors are perfect. Thanks for sharing!
I don’t get why everyone is raving about this. The crust burnt a bit and the filling was too mushy. Maybe I did something wrong?
Peach pie? More like peach flop! I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out all runny. Very disappointing.
I’m sorry to hear that! It can be tricky with pies sometimes, especially if the peaches were too juicy. Did you maybe use a different kind of peach?
I don’t know, it was too sweet for my taste and I would use less sugar next time. Overall it was okay.
I totally agree! It was really sweet for my taste too. Maybe try adding some more lemon juice next time for a tangy twist!
Yummmm! I added a little nutmeg because I didn’t have cinnamon. Turned out awesome! Can’t wait to make again.
🙄 Too much sugar! My health ain’t gonna survive this! Maybe try less sugar next time.
I kinda agree, but a little sugar is what makes it tasty! Maybe just don’t eat the whole pie at once? 😅
So delicious! I added some nutmeg too and it brought out the flavor. Yum! 🌟
Never made a pie before and this was easy peasy! Just make sure to roll the crust thin! 😁
Never made a pie before, but this was kinda easy! Thanks for sharing!
This pie is so delicious! The peaches were perfectly sweet. Will definitely make it again!
It’s just a pie, I’ve had better. What’s so special about it?
I’m so glad you loved it! Peach pie is the best, I need to try making it too!
Peach pie is my all time fave! I added some nutmeg and it made it taste even better. Yum!
I dunno, it wasn’t that great. I made it last night and my family didn’t even finish it. Maybe I did something wrong?
This peach pie was an absolute hit at our family gathering! The flavors were perfect together. Will definitely make it again!
The filling came out a little runny for me. I think I didn’t bake quite long enough, because after another 10 minutes it was much better. Great flavor though!
I don’t like peaches but my kids loved it. They ate the whole thing! Guess this recipe is a win!
I used canned peaches once and it didn’t work the same. Maybe fresh is key? The filling got watery for sure. Anyway, peach pie is supposed to be thick!
Pie crust was hard to make, tasted fine but my family didn’t like it. I think I need other instructions.
Ummm… it came out super mushy. Maybe I did something wrong? Can anyone help?
Maybe u put too much sugar? I dunno, but mushy sounds bad.
Don’t worry! Mushy pie can happen if the peaches were overly ripe. Try using firmer ones next time. Good luck!
Peach pie? Meh. I think apple is way better. Not impressed.
Peachy goodness! 🍑
Pretty solid recipe. I did add a pinch more cinnamon and a tiny bit of salt because… why not. Would recommend chilling the dough a bit before baking for cleaner lattice lines.
Yum! But I used too much sugar, next time I’ll cut back a bit!
Tried this yesterday!! My grandma used to make a pie just like this. Miss her so much. Thanks for the recipe!
this pie needs more butter, it ain’t sweet enough for me. Next time adding chocolate chips, haha! also 5 stars!
I never thought of adding chocolate chips! That sounds amazing! 😍
Not bad but next time I will add more flour! Crust was too thick for my taste.
Yum!! I made it for a picnic and everyone loved it! Will definitely be making again. 🙂
Cinnamon is my weakness and this pie delivers. I used a little more than 1/2 tsp because… why not? Perfect with vanilla ice cream.
Totally agree—cinnamon really makes peach pie sing. Love that you added a bit extra!
I dunno, 1/2 tsp cinnamon sounds like a lot to me… but if it’s paired with ice cream maybe it works? I usually use nutmeg. Either way, gonna try it—my peaches are sweet so I might cut the sugar down.
This peach pie was a hit at our family gathering! Everyone loved it! Great recipe!
Simple but good, a real classic! Reminds me of my grandma’s pie from years ago.
Does it really taste like grandma’s? I dunno, seems too simple…
I love peach pie! Brings back so many memories. Gonna try this recipe soon!
Peaches ain’t in season right now so had to use canned ones. Still tasty tho!
Canned peaches work just fine! I’m glad it still turned out tasty. 🍑
Peach pie is the best! Easy recipe to follow. Will make again for sure!
No way this is a 5-star. My pie crust burnt and the filling was way too sweet!
Can anyone tell me if I can use canned peaches instead? Fresh ones are not in season here.
You gotta watch the timing! Mine burned a little… but flavor was still decent. Anyone else had this problem?
Made this last weekend—so good. The peaches tasted super fresh even though mine were frozen. I added a pinch of nutmeg and it totally leveled it up.
Tastes great, but can you use canned peaches? I only have those at home. 🤔
Honestly, looks too easy to be real. Like, why would 6 cups peaches + sugar + flour be enough? But it was actually great, I admit.
This recipe is AMAZING! The peach pie turned out delicious! I added a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. YUM!
This is the best peach pie I’ve ever made! The filling turned out so juicy and flavorful. Definitely a 5-star for me!
I’ve tried this recipe too and it turned out amazing! We’re definitely a peach pie fam now. 💖
Really? Best peach pie? I thought you needed more sugar or spices, but maybe I am just not a fan of peach pie.
Peach pie? Who cares. I only eat chocolate! 😒
425°F for 45 minutes might be too hot for my oven. Bottom crust browned fast and the center wasn’t bubbly yet. I’ll try lowering to 400 next time.
Peach pie? What is that? I prefer apple pie, much better! Still, this looks good in a way.
I don’t usually bake pies, but this was foolproof. The smell while it baked… wow. My whole family kept asking when it would be done.
Not gonna lie, 9-inch pie pan + 6 cups peaches seems like a lot of fruit. I had to pile it a bit higher but the baking made it settle. Still delicious.
Totally get what you mean—6 cups sounds like “too much” until it bubbles down in the oven. Glad it still turned out delicious though!
I don’t get why people rave about this recipe. The filling was too sweet for my taste, and my crust burned a bit. 😒
Aww, that pie is bomb! 😍 Sweetness is what makes it great! Maybe you’re just not used to it. As for the crust, just watch it more closely next time.
I get what you’re saying! I also found the filling on the sweeter side. Maybe try less sugar next time? And if the crust burned, could be the oven temp was too high. Don’t give up on pie though, it’s still so delicious!
One star because my top crust collapsed 😭 I think my sealing was weak. Tasted good, but it looked like a disaster. I’ll try again though!
Ugh, I’m sorry 😭 That “tasted good but looked like a disaster” is so real. If your top crust collapsed, it’s usually the seal/edge support or steam not venting right—make sure the edges are really crimped and the slits aren’t too tiny. Also, letting the pie rest 10–20 minutes after baking helps the filling set so the top doesn’t sink.
This peach pie is absolutely delicious! Juicy peaches and flaky crust! Definitely making it again!
Nice! But I think you forgot to mention that the peaches should be very ripe for the best flavor.
I just don’t get why people like peaches. They are fuzzy and weird. No offense!
Made this last weekend—super juicy and the cinnamon-lemon combo really pops. Crust came out golden and the filling was nicely bubbly. Will definitely bake again.
So great! This recipe is easy for someone new to baking like me!
Really? I tried it and my pie came out weird. Maybe I did something wrong. Not happy.
I’m glad you found it easy! Peach pie is a classic that’s sure to impress your friends and family.
Tried this and it didn’t come out good, my peaches were too hard and it was too sweet. Gonna stick to my old recipe.
I love how simple the ingredient list is. 1 cup sugar felt right—sweet without being cloying. Crust was golden and flaky.
Is 425°F not too high? I followed the recipe, but my crust burnt. Not sure what went wrong.
I thought the same. But I think maybe it was your oven. Try checking it with an oven thermometer next time!
425°F is the standard temp for pies! Maybe it was in there too long or your oven runs hot? It’s easy to mess this up, especially with fruit pies.
I cut slits but maybe not enough steam? Mine burst a bit on top. Still tastes amazing though, and I’ll try to be more careful with the crust next time.
This peach pie recipe is a total win! The cinnamon added such a nice touch. Thank you!
Pie crust?? Who needs that when you can just eat the peaches? Lame!
425°F for 45 minutes feels a tad aggressive for a double crust. I covered the edges with foil halfway and it saved me from over-browning. Still tasty though!
I followed the recipe but my pie came out watery. What did I do wrong? 🤔
Wowow this is so good! My grandma would be proud! 🤗
That’s awesome! Nothing beats grandma’s recipes! 🍑🥧
I followed it exactly and it was okay… not bad, just not mind-blowing. Next time I’ll probably use brown sugar or add nutmeg.
Yum, yum, yum! I used brown sugar instead of white, and it was fantastic! Gonna make this again for sure.
Not sure about the flour amount. 1/4 cup seemed a bit much? It tasted slightly thick to me, like pudding-ish. Still edible, just not my fave texture.
Looks good but I don’t like cinnamon in my pie. Can I leave it out and it still taste good?
The pie was okay, but I think I used too many peaches. It was a bit mushy. Next time I’ll use a little less.
I think you’re onto something! Less peaches might help! Just gotta balance it right, ya know?
Easy recipe but the crust didn’t turn out right. Maybe my oven is off? Idk, but I was disappointed. 2 stars.
Maybe try checking the temperature with an oven thermometer? Sometimes ovens can be way off! Don’t give up on it; practice makes perfect! 🍑
The lemon juice really helps balance the sweetness. I used 2 tbsp because my peaches were kinda bland and it worked nicely.
That makes sense—lemon juice really does brighten peaches. I love that you adjusted it based on how sweet your fruit was.
The instructions are clear, but 6 cups peaches with only 1/4 cup flour felt a little light to me. Mine set up fine, but I could see it being runny with very juicy peaches.
I don’t understand the point of using lemon juice in a pie. Is it necessary? I omitted it and still turned out fine.
I get where you’re coming from! The lemon juice helps to balance the sweetness of the peaches and can add a nice zing. But if it turned out great for you without it, that’s what matters! 😊
I tried this recipe and the pie came out too watery. Maybe I put too much sugar? Not sure I loved it.
I sometimes add a little cornstarch to thicken my fruit pies! Maybe give that a try next time.
Watery? That’s the worst! You sure u didn’t add too much flour or something? Just guessing here…
OMG this is the first peach pie that actually tasted like summer. The lemon juice keeps it from being too sweet. Family asked for seconds.
