A Miso-Glazed Chicken and Vegetable Rice Bowl is the perfect example of how simple ingredients can come together to create something rich in flavor and texture. This meal combines tender chicken, savory miso glaze, fresh vegetables, and fluffy rice for a satisfying, balanced dish that’s ideal for lunch or dinner. It’s a comforting bowl that gives you all the umami you crave, along with the freshness of veggies and the heartiness of rice.
The chicken is the star of this dish, marinated in a savory miso glaze that adds depth and complexity. The miso brings that familiar salty, earthy flavor, while a hint of sweetness rounds it out. Grilled or seared, the chicken becomes caramelized and slightly charred on the outside, while remaining juicy and tender on the inside. The miso glaze is the perfect accompaniment, coating the chicken in a rich, flavorful layer.
To balance the richness of the chicken, the dish is loaded with colorful vegetables like carrots, bell peppers, and edamame. These vegetables add a fresh crunch and lightness to the bowl, complementing the savory chicken and miso. Steamed or sautéed, the vegetables absorb some of the glaze, making every bite a harmonious blend of flavors.
The base of the bowl is fluffy white rice, which acts as the perfect canvas for all the delicious toppings. The rice soaks up the miso glaze and juices from the chicken, creating a flavorful bite every time you dig in.
For a finishing touch, garnish with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and perhaps a sprinkle of chili flakes for a little heat. A drizzle of extra miso dressing or a few sprigs of cilantro can add extra freshness and flavor.

Wow, who knew a few ingredients could taste so good! I added some spicy peppers for a kick!
This recipe was really simple and the flavors were amazing! My family loved it!
Tasty meal! I love using miso. But does it really take only 15 minutes to bake chicken? Mine took longer!
Yeah, it should be fine in 15 mins, maybe your chicken was thicker? I had the same issue at first but I cut mine thinner now. Miso is the bomb!
I don’t know about using miso. Isn’t that supposed to be for soup? My chicken ended up too salty.
I understand your concern! Miso can be strong, but it’s really about balancing the flavors. Maybe try less next time? It’s awesome in dishes, not just soup!
Nah, I love miso! I use it in everything. It’s not just for soup, you know? Just gotta find the right amount. You might have just overdone it a bit!
Eh, it was okay. Didn’t really stick to the chicken and my veggies got mushy. 🙁
This recipe is simple and quick! I added some extra veggies and it was yum. Thanks!
Ugh, miso paste is so hard to find in regular stores. Anyone know where I can just get it easily?
Miso is horrible, why would anyone put that on chicken? Just use BBQ sauce instead!
Sounds fancy, but honestly I just threw everything in a pot. Who really measures all those ingredients? 😂
Haha, right? Measuring is overrated! I just eyeball everything too. 😂 Makes it easier!
I don’t know, I’m not a fan of miso. The taste was kinda weird for me. Maybe if you like it, you’ll enjoy this more?
Tried it with leftover rice and it worked out fine, flavorful chicken 🙂
I didn’t have miso paste, so I used tahini, but it turned out alright. Still, I think it’s not the same as the real thing.
I think tahini is an interesting substitute! It’s not the same but it’s cool you made it work. Cooking is all about experimenting, right? 😊
This was amazing! The flavors were perfect, and my kids loved it.
Not bad, but it was a bit too salty for my taste. Maybe less soy sauce next time?
I don’t know about this recipe… Miso and chicken? It’s kinda weird. Maybe I’ll try it but it sounds risky.
Hate it! The chicken came out dry and the rice was sticky. Never again.
I don’t know, the miso paste was too salty for me. I think I’ll stick to teriyaki next time.
I get that! Miso can be kinda overpowering for some. Trying teriyaki sounds like a safer choice for your taste buds. But maybe try a little less miso next time? Just a thought!
Salt? You must not know how to cook! Miso gives a great flavor if you use it right! Don’t give up on it yet!
Awesome twist on chicken! But I used quinoa instead of rice. Is that okay?
This recipe is too hard, I just don’t have time for all this prep work. K.I.S.S., keep it simple!
Miso, honey, soy… sounded weird, but surprisingly good! Just a bit too sweet for my taste.
Yum! I added some extra veggies and it turned out great. A bit of spice would be nice though! 🔥
I totally agree! Extra spice could really take it up a notch! 🌶️ What kind of veggies did you add?

WOW this was delish! Never tried miso before, but now I’m hooked! 😍
I’m so glad you loved it! Miso is seriously a game changer. Which vegetables did you use?
Tasted fine, but I burnt the chicken 😩. How do I not do that next time?
Delicious!!! Best dinner I’ve made all week! I’m gonna tell all my friends to try it out.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! It’s one of my favorites too!
Yum! The glaze was sticky and delish! My kids loved it too, they usually don’t eat chicken. 10/10!
Is it really that simple? I mean, like, are you sure this isn’t just for chefs?
OMG, I made this last night and it turned out sooo good! Will definitely be making it again. 😍
So glad you liked it! The miso glaze is everything! Can’t wait to make it again too! 😋
I’ve never heard of miso… can I use ketchup? What’s miso anyways?
I don’t know about the honey in this. Seems kinda weird for chicken. I maybe won’t try this.
Nah, honey is dope! It adds a sweet punch to the salty miso. Don’t knock it till you try it! 😜
I totally get that! Honey does seem off for chicken. But trust me, it balances the flavors really well. Give it a shot! 😊
I tried this and it didn’t turn out well at all. The chicken was dry! I think 12 minutes is not enough.
This dish was okay, but the chicken was kinda dry. Maybe I overcooked it? 🤔
Super easy recipe! I made it for dinner last night and my family loved it! XD
It sounds easy, but mine turned out kinda dry. Maybe I did something wrong?
I’m glad your family enjoyed it! This recipe is a total winner! 😍
Easy and quick! I made it in 30 minutes and my kids loved it! Gonna make again.
Who even uses miso paste? What’s wrong with just salt and pepper? 🤷♀️
The chicken was good but the rice was plain. Maybe add more spices?
So yummy! I adjusted the recipe and added some chili flakes for heat, fab!
Total waste of time. It took forever and didn’t taste like much.
I actually loved the flavors! Maybe you didn’t follow the steps right? It’s not hard to make delicious meals with a little effort!
Totaly disagree, it was pretty simple and tasty! You might just not like miso or something… my fam devoured it.
Simple and easy recipe, loved it! Can’t wait to try it again with different veggies.
I really enjoyed this recipe too! It’s so versatile! What veggies are you thinking of trying next?
I dunno, it seems too simple. How do you know it’ll taste good with different veggies? Don’t all ingredients matter? 🤔
This was super simple to make, even for a novice like me! I didn’t have any snap peas, so I used broccoli and it was still great!
