Japanese Beef and Vegetable Breakfast Bowl
A delicious and healthy Japanese-style breakfast bowl with beef and vegetables.
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound beef sirloin thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Optional toppings: fried egg, nori seaweed
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the beef and cook until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the onion and bell pepper. Cook until vegetables are tender.
- Add the cooked rice to the skillet and stir to combine with the vegetables.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, and grated ginger.
- Pour the sauce over the rice and vegetables in the skillet. Cook for a few minutes until heated through.
- Divide the rice and vegetable mixture into bowls. Top with the cooked beef, sesame seeds, and green onions.
- Optionally, top with a fried egg and sprinkle with nori seaweed.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
