Taco Gnocchi Bake

November 7, 2024

Taco Gnocchi Bake is the ultimate comfort food mashup that combines the flavors of tacos with the soft, pillowy texture of gnocchi. This easy, family-friendly dinner brings together seasoned ground beef or turkey, fluffy potato gnocchi, and plenty of melty cheese, all baked together in one hearty dish. It is cheesy, flavorful, and loaded with Tex-Mex goodness.

The magic of this recipe comes from how the gnocchi soaks up all the bold taco flavors. The beef is cooked with taco seasoning, onions, and garlic, then mixed with fire-roasted tomatoes, corn, and black beans for extra flavor and texture. Everything gets tossed together with the gnocchi and topped with a generous layer of shredded cheese before going into the oven to bake until bubbly and golden.

Taco Gnocchi Bake is as versatile as it is delicious. You can swap the protein for ground chicken or a plant-based alternative, or add extras like jalapeños, bell peppers, or olives. Once it is baked, top it with your favorite taco toppings like sour cream, green onions, diced tomatoes, avocado, or cilantro to make it even more irresistible.

This dish is perfect for busy weeknights. It comes together quickly with minimal prep and only requires one pan, making cleanup a breeze. The combination of cheesy, saucy taco flavors with the soft, doughy gnocchi is seriously satisfying and a fun twist on taco night.

Not only is Taco Gnocchi Bake filling and comforting, but it also reheats beautifully, making it a great choice for leftovers. Whether you are feeding a crowd or just want an easy, cozy meal for the family, this recipe delivers big flavor with little effort. It is proof that when you combine two comfort food favorites, the result is pure magic.

Gnocchi and tacos?!? What a weird combo, but I decided to try it and I actually liked it! Very filling.

  2. User avatar Lorna Walter says:

    5 stars
This was so yummy! I didn’t think gnocchi could be made in the oven like that. My kids devoured it!

    1. 3 stars
Sounds good, but I don’t know about baking gnocchi. Isn’t it supposed to be boiled? 🤔

    2. 5 stars
I’m so glad to hear that! This dish is such a hit with families. It’s like tacos and pasta rolled into one delicious meal! 🌮🍝

  3. User avatar Jayson Cole says:

    3 stars
It was alright, but I think it needs more spices or something. Kinda bland. Won’t make again.

    1. 4 stars
I totally agree! I added some jalapeños and chili powder, and it was way better! Maybe that could help.

    2. User avatar daniell.kautzer says:

      2 stars
Really? I thought it was super flavorful! But everyone has their taste, I guess.

  4. User avatar colby.kulas85 says:

    2 stars
I never made gnocchi before. Is it really that easy? I thought it had to be boiled or something. Not sure about this recipe.

  5. User avatar blaine.wiegand says:

    2 stars
Way too much salsa for my taste, it got kinda watery. I recommend using less salsa or draining/rinsing the beans better. Otherwise it’s okay.

  6. User avatar Nobuko Nienow says:

    5 stars
Made this tonight—super easy and the flavors actually taste like tacos. The gnocchi baking step is genius. I used homemade gnocchi and it came out bubbly and comforting.

  7. 5 stars
    Interesting…

  8. User avatar terminatorXYZ says:

    5 stars
Okay but why is this so good?? I was skeptical about the gnocchi with taco seasoning, but it works. I’ll definitely make it again. Next time I’ll add jalapeños.

  9. 4 stars
I’m not sure why people love gnocchi bakes but this one genuinely satisfied me. Ground beef + taco seasoning is a classic for a reason.

  10. User avatar ervin.heidenreich47 says:

Came out amazing! My kids loved it! We added some jalapeños for spice. Yum!

Wow so cheesy omg. I did it with chicken instead of beef and it turned out great too. Definitely making again!

This taco gnocchi bake is a game changer! My family loved it! 😍

It looks good, but I’m not sure how gnocchi and taco flavors mix. Sounds weird to me…

Totally agree! This recipe is super easy and the flavors are awesome. Can’t wait to make it again!

Super simple and tasty! I added jalapenos for some spice! 🌶️

  15. User avatar mathew.rippin2012 says:

    4 stars
Pretty tasty but I think it needed a bit more seasoning—mine was kinda mild even with the packet. Next time I’ll add some hot sauce or extra chili powder.

  16. User avatar lupita.ohara says:

    4 stars
I left out the cilantro because eww, but it was still good! Great recipe!

  17. 1 star
What is gnocchi? Can I use pasta instead? Sounds too complicated!

I don’t understand why you would bake gnocchi? Can’t you just cook it? 😒

  21. 5 stars
So delicious! I added some jalapeños for a kick. Perfect for our taco night! 🌮

  22. 2 stars
Y’all, this recipe is a mess. My gnocchi turned into mush. What did I do wrong?

  23. User avatar Arthur Dent says:

    3 stars
Way too much cheese for my taste. Maybe I’ll cut back next time.

  24. User avatar tissues_with_issues says:

Easy peasy! Made this for a potluck and it was gone in minutes. I just wish I would’ve double the recipe! Next time for sure. Yum!

    1. User avatar ALTplusF4 says:

      5 stars
I’m so glad to hear that! This is one of my favorite recipes. Next time, you might want to try adding jalapeños for a kick!

    2. User avatar vincenzo.jacobson17 says:

      3 stars
Sounds good, but I’m skeptical. Isn’t gnocchi supposed to be, like, boiled only? How does baking it work?

  25. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

    3 stars
Um, this is totally not Italian! 🤔 But I guess it tastes okay?

  26. User avatar rich.landlord says:

    3 stars
I didn’t drain the beef as well as I should’ve and it turned a bit greasy. Still flavorful though. Also, I used chunky salsa and the sauce was thicker, which helped.

    1. User avatar royce.bernier says:

      3 stars
Hmm chunky salsa making it thicker makes sense, but I don’t get why it would be greasy. Maybe you cooked the beef too high heat? I always leave the fat cuz flavor 😂. Still, bake it longer and it’ll cook it off.

    2. 4 stars
That actually sounds pretty normal—taco gnocchi bakes can get greasy if the beef fat isn’t drained well. Glad it still tasted flavorful though! Next time I’d definitely drain and maybe blot the meat a little before mixing.

  27. User avatar jessie.rath77 says:

    2 stars
My mom always said tacos should be in shells, not gnocchi. 🤔

  28. User avatar kelsi.haley2017 says:

    5 stars
Soooo much cheese. I added extra because I’m me. The whole dish smelled like a taco shop and my family went back for seconds.

  29. User avatar anisa.waelchi1977 says:

    2 stars
I don’t know… Gnocchi and tacos? Doesn’t sound right to me. I’m skeptical.

  30. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

    2 stars
Way too much cilantro for my taste. I know it says garnish but I got a heavy hand and it overpowered everything. Flavor otherwise was solid.

    1. User avatar pasty.harvey8 says:

      3 stars
Hmm, I’m the opposite—I love cilantro. But I guess it’s like rosemary where too much ruins it. Did you chop it fine? Also, I thought cilantro should be cooked in the oven?? Maybe I’m wrong lol.

    2. 5 stars
Totally get that—cilantro can be super overpowering if you’re heavy-handed. Next time I’d use like half, or add it right at serving instead of mixing/generously sprinkling. Glad the rest tasted solid!

  31. User avatar elliot.heller1974 says:

    3 stars
What is gnocchi? I’m not that fancy. Can I just use pasta?

  32. User avatar Death Hound says:

    5 stars
Can’t believe how quick and easy this was. Only took me half an hour! 👏

  33. User avatar Agustin Ziemann V says:

    4 stars
I followed it pretty closely, but I accidentally used mild salsa and it needed a little more seasoning. Still super good though—would definitely make again with a spicier salsa or extra taco seasoning.

  34. User avatar roy.daugherty25 says:

    5 stars
Made this last night—so easy and actually tastes like a taco night, but with a cozy bake vibe. I used homemade gnocchi and it turned out awesome. Would definitely make again!

  35. User avatar tyler.upton5 says:

    3 stars
I don’t get why people are so crazy about gnocchi. It was okay but I think I prefer regular pasta. The taco flavors were good though.

    1. User avatar Trin Tragula says:

      4 stars
I think gnocchi is great! It’s so soft and absorbs flavors well. Maybe you just had a bad experience with it? 🙁

  36. User avatar wava.parker34 says:

    2 stars
Taco and gnocchi? Not really sure about this combo. Sounds weird.

  37. User avatar brandy.lueilwitz says:

    3 stars
I thought the black beans were weird in this recipe. Wouldn’t do that again.

  38. User avatar Teller of Treasures says:

    5 stars
So good!!! My husband was licking the plate haha. Definitely gonna do again!

    1. 5 stars
Sounds amazing! I’m definitely trying this. My kids will love it too!

    2. 2 stars
Looks good, but I dunno about gnocchi and tacos…that just seems weird to me.

  39. User avatar Genghis Khan says:

    5 stars
This looks super yummy! I can’t wait to try it!

  40. User avatar saul.gibson82 says:

    3 stars
Gnocchi bake? What even is that? Nvm, recipe isn’t bad I guess, but not a fan of beans.

  41. User avatar janice.ondricka60 says:

    2 stars
Hmm, I’m not sure how I feel about this. Gnocchi and tacos? Seems weird.

  42. User avatar laverne.anderson42 says:

    5 stars
Yum! I added some jalapenos and it was BOMBBB!

  43. User avatar domenica.ohara says:

    5 stars
This was dangerously good. The gnocchi stayed pillowy and the taco-salsa flavor really soaked in. I used Mexican blend cheese and it came out perfectly bubbly.

  44. User avatar georgina.satterfield says:

    3 stars
I followed the instructions pretty closely, but mine was a bit dry even with the salsa. Maybe my salsa was thicker? Still tasted great though.

    1. 4 stars
Dry for me too sometimes 😅 I think it’s the gnocchi brand. Some of them soak up sauce like crazy. I’d try cooking it less or covering it with foil for the first 10 minutes so it doesn’t dry out. Also, maybe your oven runs hot?

    2. User avatar Ms. Nadia Heaney says:

      5 stars
Hmm, that makes sense. If your salsa was thicker or even just less watery, it would dry out more in the bake. Next time maybe use a thinner salsa (or add a splash of water/extra salsa) and bake just until the cheese bubbles—15 min can be enough depending on your dish.

  45. 3 stars
It was ok. Not the best, but not the worst. I feel like it needed more cheese or something… just saying.

    1. 3 stars
Nah, I think it’s fine the way it is. Not everything needs to be overloaded with cheese, it’s the flavors that count.

    2. User avatar MAGA2024.Trumpster says:

      4 stars
I totally agree! More cheese would take it to the next level! I added some extra cheddar and it was a game changer.

  46. User avatar helga.reynolds55 says:

    4 stars
Honestly, I messed up the gnocchi and it turned mushy 😅 but the beef-salsa-beans mix is legit. Even as a “fail,” it tasted good on tortillas.

    1. User avatar Spider Soldier says:

      4 stars
Ugh gnocchi mush happens 😅 but honestly that still sounds super tasty. The beef-salsa-beans combo on tortillas is a win—next time I’d spread the gnocchi out more and don’t overbake.

  47. User avatar bernie.parker says:

    4 stars
I tried store-bought gnocchi (the fridge kind). They absorbed the sauce but stayed a bit firm, which I liked. If you want softer, bake a couple minutes longer.

    1. User avatar gabriella.cassin says:

      5 stars
That sounds like exactly what this bake should do—gnocchi + saucy filling usually ends up firmer than people expect. I’m glad you liked the texture, and your “a couple minutes longer for softer” tip is perfect.

  48. User avatar shaneka.mcglynn says:

    4 stars
Taco and gnocchi? What a weird combo! I was skeptical but it’s actually pretty delish.

    1. User avatar easter.johnston says:

      5 stars
I know, right? It’s such a strange mix but somehow it works! So glad you liked it!

  49. User avatar lavern.pouros5 says:

    3 stars
Honestly, I don’t get the hype. It was okay, but nothing special.

  50. User avatar page.hodkiewicz says:

    5 stars
This was such a cozy weeknight dinner. The gnocchi stayed nice and pillowy, and the taco beef mix tasted way better than I expected. I topped mine with extra cheese because… obviously.

    1. User avatar merrill.bernhard67 says:

      3 stars
Huh, taco seasoning + gnocchi bake… sounds kinda weird but I’ll admit I’m curious. How do you not overcook the gnocchi when baking? Mine usually gets too soft.

    2. 5 stars
This sounds so cozy! I love that the gnocchi stays pillowy—every time I bake gnocchi it turns into a sad little brick 😅. Definitely trying it with extra cheese like you did!

  51. User avatar Michael83 says:

    5 stars
OMG! This recipe is amazing! My kids loved it and so did I!

  52. 4 stars
Can you use chicken instead of beef? Asking for a friend.

  53. User avatar Hotblack Desiato's bodyguard says:

    3 stars
Is gnocchi really a taco thing? I was confused by this dish.

  54. User avatar Eccentrica Gallumbits says:

    1 star
Made this for my family and nobody liked it. Too much going on. Will stick to traditional tacos.

  55. User avatar newton.hirthe says:

    5 stars
So good! I added jalapeños and extra cheese and it was like a casserole version of taco night. 10/10 comfort food.

  56. 1 star
Heard gnocchi is made from potatoes? Is that right? Anyway, I didn’t enjoy it.

  57. User avatar trevor.ernser1954 says:

    5 stars
This was a hit at our taco night! Soooo good!

  58. User avatar Hillman Hunter says:

    2 stars
I followed the steps exactly but the gnocchi kinda went mushy… and the flavor was just okay. Maybe my oven runs hot? Also I used low-sodium seasoning so that might be it.

    1. User avatar sid.nicolas says:

      4 stars
Oh no—mushy gnocchi is usually from overbaking or not drying/draining the sauce mix well. 15–20 min at 375°F might be a little long for some gnocchi (especially store-bought). Next time, try baking closer to 15 min, and make sure the cooked gnocchi is fully drained before mixing.

  59. User avatar gerald.nitzsche says:

    3 stars
What even is gnocchi? I thought it was a type of tomato. Anyway, I tried it and it was good! 😅

    1. User avatar Lonny Greenfelder says:

      4 stars
Wow, thought it was a tomato?? 🤔 That’s funny! Gnocchi is super yummy, though. I love this recipe idea!

    2. User avatar shanon.greenfelder says:

      5 stars
Gnocchi is actually a type of pasta, not a tomato! 😂 But I’m glad you enjoyed it! This taco twist sounds delicious!

  60. User avatar trisha.koss21 says:

    5 stars
Tried this last night! The kids loved it, even my picky eater! Will make again.

  61. User avatar Ophelia Payne says:

    4 stars
Gnocchi and tacos? Sounds weird… but I’m up for trying it. Even if it’s half good, it’s better than cereal for dinner!

  62. User avatar Miles Teg says:

    5 stars
This is amazing! My kids loved it. Will make again!

    1. User avatar song.klein68 says:

      3 stars
This sounds good, but is it really that easy? I’m not a great cook. Will they really eat gnocchi? Are they pizza lovers?

    2. User avatar ali.ebert says:

      5 stars
I’m so glad to hear that! It’s perfect for a family meal. What did your kids like the most about it?

  63. User avatar oPandariaNo says:

    2 stars
too hard to cook and clean!

    1. User avatar hilario.simonis36 says:

      3 stars
Cooking ain’t that hard! Plus, it’s delicious. Just clean as you go!

    2. 4 stars
I can see how it might seem tough, but it’s really not that bad! Just take your time! 😊

  64. 5 stars
This is comfort food for sure. The black beans and corn make it feel hearty. I didn’t have cilantro so I used green onion and it was still great.

  65. User avatar margarett.dubuque90 says:

    5 stars
My husband thought he wouldn’t like it, but he ate two helpings! What a win!

  66. 2 stars
I tried it and it was kinda bland for me. I added extra taco seasoning and a squeeze of lime and then it tasted way better. Would recommend seasoning adjustments.

  67. User avatar roselee.halvorson19 says:

    3 stars
I didnt have black beans so I swapped chickpeas. It was fine, but the whole thing tasted more like a taco-meets-stew situation. 6/10.

    1. 3 stars
Hmm I woulda used pinto beans not chickpeas… chickpeas taste too nutty to me. Also 375°F seems low? I usually do 425. But hey, if it was fine for you, that’s what counts.

    2. User avatar romeo.muller89 says:

      4 stars
Totally get it—chickpeas are a good swap when you’re out of black beans. “Taco-meets-stew” actually sounds like it turned out heartier. 6/10 isn’t bad at all!

  68. User avatar cecille.bashirian1954 says:

    2 stars
Eh. It tasted good, but I don’t get the hype. Also, 375°F for 20 minutes seems long for gnocchi—mine got a little too soft. Maybe my dish was shallow.

  69. User avatar stephani.nienow53 says:

    3 stars
It was okay… maybe too much cheese for my taste. 🤷‍♀️

  70. User avatar Prostetnic Vogon Kwaltz says:

    4 stars
Taco + pasta? Genius! I mean, who knew? This is going on my dinner rotation!

    1. User avatar Lissandra says:

      5 stars
This sounds awesome! Can’t wait to try it. My kids are gonna love this!

  71. User avatar Gail Andrews says:

    4 stars
Honestly, this was super easy and tasted great. Will make again!

  72. User avatar tissues_with_issues says:

    3 stars
The flavors are good, but I wish the seasoning packet amount was specified (like grams). Also I might’ve simmered too long because it thickened too much.

    1. User avatar Draugr Overlord says:

      5 stars
Totally get that—packet seasonings are usually vague, and grams would be way more helpful. I’ve found simmering past ~5 minutes can definitely thicken it fast, especially with salsa + beans. Next time, try a shorter simmer or loosen it with a splash of water/broth before baking.

  73. User avatar delbert.abshire3 says:

    5 stars
I tried it with homemade gnocchi and it was kind of amazing… also kind of messy. Still, the family devoured it. Will make again for sure.

    1. User avatar hugh.kuhlman1974 says:

      3 stars
I’m not sure about mixing gnocchi + taco seasoning + baking… seems like it could get weirdly mushy. Did you drain the gnocchi well? Also 15-20 minutes—maybe too long for homemade? But if your family liked it, I guess I’ll try it once.

    2. User avatar weldon.gaylord says:

      5 stars
Homemade gnocchi?! That sounds unreal. I love when it gets a little messy but still tastes amazing—this recipe is basically comfort food with a taco twist. Family devoured it = mission accomplished. 😄

  74. User avatar hiroko.upton says:

    2 stars
I’m not sure about mixing gnocchi with taco flavor. Seems weird.

    1. 2 stars
Gnocchi and tacos? That just doesn’t match for me. I mean, what’s next, pizza with broccoli? Just stick to the classics.

    2. User avatar wes.hyatt6 says:

      5 stars
I thought it sounded strange too, but trust me, it’s SO good! Taco flavors with the gnocchi are amazing together. You gotta try it!

  75. 5 stars
Great for potluck! So easy and everyone enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing!

  76. User avatar Tartarus says:

    4 stars
Super easy to make and my kids gobbled it up. Will definitely make it again! 👍

  77. 5 stars
10/10 would eat again! Yummy, so good, loved it!

  78. User avatar kermit.beahan20 says:

    4 stars
The combo is weird in a good way. Like, it’s basically taco mac but with gnocchi. I served it with sour cream and cilantro and everyone asked for seconds.

  79. User avatar dagny.marks says:

    5 stars
This dish was so yummy! I didn’t add the sour cream tho 🤷‍♀️

  80. User avatar adam.langosh84 says:

    4 stars
1 pound gnocchi? Maybe just use whatever you have. Doesn’t matter!

  81. User avatar olen.kiehn99 says:

This was ridiculously comforting. The gnocchi held up great and the taco seasoning flavor really came through. I added a bit of jalapeño and it was perfect. Definitely making again.

Super easy! I added some jalapeños for kick, delicious!

    1. User avatar lyndia.walsh47 says:

      5 stars
Sounds amazing! I love the idea of adding jalapeños. Gonna try it next time!

  83. 1 star
This recipe was way too salty with the seasoning! Not a fan.

  84. User avatar gwenda.wilderman82 says:

    2 stars
Honestly i loved the idea but mine came out bland. Maybe my taco seasoning was old? The next one I’ll season the gnocchi too.

  85. User avatar Shirley Knot says:

    2 stars
Where’s the taco flavor? I expected more spiciness. Meh.

  86. User avatar nancee.tremblay3 says:

I added jalapeños for some heat – they gotta try it like this!

    1. User avatar nieves.zemlak1967 says:

Sounds delicious! I love spicy food! Adding jalapeños is a great idea!

Looks good but 375°F seems low for a bake—shoulda been like 425? I think mine took longer than 20 mins. Tasted okay after though.

    1. 4 stars
I get what you mean, but 375°F can work since it’s mostly just heating through + melting the cheese. My cheesy top started bubbling around the 20-min mark too—anything longer depending on how fresh/cold your gnocchi was.

    2. 3 stars
425 sounds right though 😅 20 mins felt way too short for me. Mine was kinda bland before I cranked it, and I swear my oven runs hot. Next time I’ll do higher temp and watch it closer.

  88. 3 stars
How are u people making this? I don’t have taco seasoning, can I use something else?

  89. 2 stars
I don’t know… sounds a bit weird. Gnocchi and taco seasoning? Not sure that goes together.

  90. User avatar Clarence Crona says:

    5 stars
I made this with homemade gnocchi and it was delicious, like comfort food with a Mexican twist. Cilantro on top is a must. 10/10 would serve to guests.

  91. User avatar jill.greenholt says:

    4 stars
I thought the flavors would clash, but they actually worked pretty well together. Unexpectedly good!

  92. 5 stars
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about taco + gnocchi, but it actually works. The cheese bubbling on top is the best part. 10/10.

  93. User avatar MAGA2024.Trumpster says:

    3 stars
I dunno… it was fine but nothing special. Plus, I forgot the beans. Oops!

  94. User avatar Miss Sherwood Morar says:

    5 stars
Can’t go wrong with cheese! I added some jalapenos for spice, yum!

  95. 5 stars
Made this for dinner last night and it was a total hit. The gnocchi stayed nice and pillowy, and the taco-seasoned beef flavor really came through. I used store-bought gnocchi and it still tasted homemade.

  96. User avatar alan.bernier says:

    5 stars
I just made this last night, and it’s definitely going into my regular rotation!

  97. User avatar stacey.willms28 says:

    5 stars
This was surprisingly comforting. The gnocchi holding up in the oven is a win, and the taco seasoning + salsa combo tastes super balanced. I used extra cheese and didn’t regret it.

    1. 4 stars
Extra cheese is basically the rules, so good call 😅 I’m trying this, though I might cut back on salsa next time—mine is usually super watery and I don’t want it to turn into soup. But the taco seasoning + salsa combo sounds legit.

    2. User avatar torri.schaden says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—this kind of bake feels like comfort food magic. The gnocchi staying intact in the oven is the best part. I’ll admit I was nervous about it getting mushy, but it didn’t!

  98. User avatar ardith.windler says:

    3 stars
Kinda bland. Needs something. Maybe more spice? Just my opinion.

    1. User avatar cyril.maggio89 says:

      4 stars
I totally get you! A little cumin or chili powder could really amp this up. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

  99. 5 stars
This was surprisingly good! I never thought of making gnocchi like this. Will definitely make again!

  100. User avatar freeman.kris says:

    2 stars
Huh. 375 and 20 minutes shoulda been enough… mine’s underdone? Maybe my oven runs cold. Flavor is alright, but I’d rather just do tacos on a tray and skip the bake.

  101. User avatar Mr. Vito Gusikowski says:

    2 stars
Isn’t gnocchi just doughy potato dumplins? I don’t think this is a taco dish at all. Not my thing, sorry!

  102. 4 stars
Gotta admit, the idea sounded crazy, but it actually turned out great! Will make again.

    1. 5 stars
I’m surprised too! It looks so easy to make. I’m definitely trying this next weekend!

  103. User avatar Restless Draugr says:

    2 stars
Honestly, taco seasoning in salsa is redundant IMO. Still, the bake is pretty tasty and the cilantro makes it feel fresher. Kinda heavy, but good.

  104. User avatar jonathon.kulas19 says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but 375°F for 15-20 min might depend on the dish. I baked mine closer to 25 min because the center wasn’t hot yet. Otherwise good flavor.

  105. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

    5 stars
This was a hit at our family dinner! Everyone loved it! Thank you!

  106. User avatar suspiciousCommentator says:

    4 stars
Pretty solid, but mine dried out a bit at 20 minutes. I think I should’ve used a slightly more watery salsa or covered it with foil. Still tasty though—cheese was perfect.

    1. User avatar ronda.greenfelder71 says:

      5 stars
Yeah, I’ve had that happen too. I usually cover it with foil for the first ~15 minutes and then uncover to melt/bubble the cheese. Also agree on using a runnier salsa (or adding a splash of water/broth). Glad the cheese worked out though!

    2. 3 stars
Hm I baked mine at 375 for like 25 minutes and it was fine… maybe your oven runs hot or the gnocchi needed longer cooking? For drying out, I’d add more salsa than 1 cup. Covering with foil is probably the move. 🙂

  107. User avatar Saruman the White says:

    5 stars
Yum! I added jalapenos for extra kick. So good!!!

  108. User avatar fernando.nicolas says:

    4 stars
Can I use chicken instead of beef? I have some that needs to be used up.

  109. 3 stars
Pretty good, but mine was a little dry after baking. I think next time I’ll use a jar of salsa that’s more watery or add a splash of water/broth before baking.

    1. 5 stars
Good catch! I’ve had that happen too—15-20 min can dry things out depending on the gnocchi brand and how thick the salsa is. Next time I’ll add a bit more liquid (even a few tablespoons of broth) like you said.

    2. User avatar joesph.hodkiewicz1994 says:

      4 stars
Hmm… mine didn’t get dry, but I think I used like a wetter salsa and I also covered it with foil for the first 10 minutes. Maybe try that? Also don’t overbake—gnocchi already cooks fast.

  110. User avatar debera.upton58 says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about mixing tacos and gnocchi, but it worked. The texture combo is weirdly perfect. My whole family ate it without complaining (rare).

  111. User avatar Moshe Leuschke says:

    5 stars
Five stars! I used turkey instead of beef and it was still awesome. Garnished with cilantro and a dollop of sour cream—so good. My kids asked for seconds.

  112. 5 stars
My kids devoured it! Finally, something they would eat without complaining.

  113. 4 stars
Not sure about the gnocchi + taco thing… but I tried it and honestly it works. The texture contrast is fun. Would make again for sure.

  114. User avatar cristin.hoppe46 says:

    3 stars
Followed the recipe mostly, but I forgot to drain the corn (my bad). Still ate it, tho it was a bit watery. Flavor was good, just adjust the liquids.

    1. User avatar Cameron Shanahan says:

      5 stars
Thanks for sharing! Yeah, draining the corn really matters—extra liquid can make it watery even if the flavor is on point. Next time just drain/rinse and you’re golden.

  115. User avatar theola.bosco23 says:

    5 stars
    Just. Wow. 😍

    1. User avatar jewell.miller67 says:

      2 stars
Not sure about the combination of gnocchi and taco. Seems odd to me.

    2. User avatar faustino.windler1963 says:

This looks so delicious! Can’t wait to try it! 😋

  116. User avatar smartestRedditor says:

    3 stars
The instructions are clear, but mine came out a bit dry after baking. Next time I’ll add a splash more salsa or cover it with foil for the first half. Flavor was on point.

  117. User avatar Flame Atronach says:

    2 stars
I dunno. Just seems like a weird combo. Gnocchi with taco stuff? Ehh.

  118. User avatar Kristeen Muller says:

    4 stars
Alright but… isn’t this basically like taco lasagna with pasta? lol. Either way it’s delicious and I ate way too much.

    1. User avatar Ms. Eleonora Gerlach says:

      5 stars
Pretty much, yeah—taco flavors with gnocchi instead of lasagna noodles. But hey, gnocchi makes it so much more fun lol. Glad you loved it!

  119. User avatar lawerence.senger16 says:

    3 stars
I followed the recipe and it was decent. Ground beef + taco seasoning is always good, but I wanted more spice. I also think 1 cup salsa isn’t enough moisture, so I added extra.

  120. User avatar danial.goldner says:

    3 stars
I used homemade gnocchi and it turned into a slightly mushy bake. Could be on me for overcooking the gnocchi in step 2. Flavor was still solid!

    1. 3 stars
Mushy bake… yeah maybe you cooked them too long, but step 2 says follow package instructions so idk. Next time try less time in the oven too? also maybe add less salsa so it doesn’t get soggy. Flavor sounds good!

    2. User avatar Orange Dartwing says:

      5 stars
That happens—gnocchi are super sensitive. I usually undercook them a bit (pull them when they float) because they’ll keep cooking in the bake. Glad the flavor still worked out though!

  121. User avatar Ms. Quiana O'Hara says:

    4 stars
I used store-bought gnocchi and it came out delicious. Next time I’ll add a bit more salsa for extra sauciness because it felt slightly thick after baking.

  122. User avatar bronwyn.hamill says:

    4 stars
Easy weeknight win. I’m not usually a casserole person, but the bake time melted everything together nicely. Next time I’ll add diced jalapeños for a little kick.

    1. User avatar glenn.kshlerin says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—this feels like a cheat code for a weeknight. I’m usually team “no casserole,” but the 15–20 min bake makes it all taste way more cohesive. Jalapeños next time is a great call too 🌶️

  123. User avatar conrad.kerluke says:

    4 stars
I followed it pretty much exactly. The cheese got all nice and bubbly, but I wish the bake time was closer to 15 mins—at 20 it was a little too browned on top.

  124. User avatar Phyliss Pfeffer says:

    5 stars
Super easy for a weeknight meal. I added diced jalapeños and some cumin because I like my food hotter. 10/10 would tweak again.

  125. User avatar rheba.mosciski says:

    3 stars
Way too much going on for me. Gnocchi + taco seasoning is not a combo I’d normally try, and it tasted kinda… heavy. Not bad, just not my vibe.

  126. User avatar john.heaney says:

    3 stars
Hold up—375°F is kinda low? Mine would never get bubbly cheese at that temp, I feel like. I cranked mine higher and it turned out better, so maybe consider 400.

  127. User avatar myles.romaguera30 says:

    3 stars
I tried it with turkey and it didn’t have the same richness. Also, my gnocchi got a little mushy, maybe because I overcooked them the first time. Taste was still okay.

  128. User avatar erinn.boyle99 says:

    4 stars
Pretty tasty, but mine came out a little dry even though I kept it covered for part of the bake. Next time I’ll add more salsa or a splash of broth.

  129. 5 stars
This was dangerously good. The gnocchi stayed pillowy instead of turning mushy, and the taco seasoning + salsa combo is spot on. Would make again for sure.

  130. User avatar ben.goyette2001 says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about gnocchi with taco seasoning, but it works. The cheese gets all melty and everything sticks together nicely. Only tweak: I added a diced jalapeño.

  131. User avatar garfield.bergstrom10 says:

    5 stars
This was delicious! My family loved it. Will make again!

    1. User avatar Effrafax of Wug says:

      5 stars
Sounds amazing! I need to try this recipe soon. Glad your family enjoyed it!

  132. User avatar major.larkin2002 says:

    2 stars
Mine came out dry after baking—maybe I overbaked it. I also used homemade gnocchi and it soaked up the sauce more than expected. Would try again, but I’d bake closer to 15 minutes.

    1. User avatar kittie.stark2000 says:

      5 stars
Homemade gnocchi will 100% drink up the salsa. I’ve noticed it too. I usually add an extra splash of salsa or a little broth before baking so it doesn’t dry out. Your 15 minutes guess seems spot on.

    2. User avatar ALTplusF4 says:

      4 stars
Ugh, that sounds frustrating. If your cheese didn’t stay saucy, it’s usually either too long in the oven or not enough sauce in the bake. I’d start checking at 10–12 min next time—cheese can melt fast at 375.

  133. User avatar sanjuanita.collier says:

    5 stars
This was super cozy and tasted like a taco-night casserole. The gnocchi held up great and didn’t turn mushy for me—will definitely make again.

    1. User avatar kala.johns79 says:

      5 stars
Yesss taco-night casserole is exactly what I was hoping for—glad the gnocchi stayed firm for you! 🙌 I’m definitely trying your approach next time.

  134. User avatar geoWizard says:

    3 stars
I followed it pretty closely, but mine came out a little dry. I think my salsa was thicker? Still good though—just needed an extra spoon of sour cream when serving.

  135. User avatar Miss Martin Bernier says:

    3 stars
My cheese didn’t get super bubbly, more like oily? Not sure why—maybe my cheddar is weird. Still tasted okay, just didn’t look right.

  136. User avatar geoffrey.windler says:

    4 stars
Pretty good, but mine came out a little dry even with 1 cup salsa. Next time I’ll add a splash more salsa or a bit of water when simmering. Still tasted great though.

  137. User avatar Piter De Vries says:

    2 stars
Not gonna lie, I thought gnocchi would get soggy. It did a little, but the melted cheese helped. I’d recommend stirring gently and not baking too long.

    1. 3 stars
Mine didn’t get soggy cuz I left it in like 30 min… jk 😂 I think it’s just the brand of gnocchi, some hold up better. Taco seasoning + salsa is pretty fire though.

    2. User avatar jame.renner says:

      5 stars
I was worried about the sogginess too, but baking it just until the cheese is bubbly makes sense. Gentle stirring sounds key—thanks for the tip!

  138. User avatar gonzalo.rolfson says:

    5 stars
I followed it exactly and it was a hit with my kids. The cilantro on top makes it feel “restaurant-y.” Would make again for sure.

  139. User avatar franklyn.quigley73 says:

    4 stars
Pretty tasty, but I think mine needed a splash more salsa—ended up a little thick in the bake. Still super easy though. Next time I’ll probably add some extra corn or a drizzle of enchilada sauce.

    1. User avatar garret.dooley15 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—this bake can get thick fast. I’ve started adding salsa a little at a time (or adding a splash of water/broth) so it stays saucy. Extra corn is a great call too!

  140. User avatar Jere Ryan says:

    5 stars
Taco Gnocchi Bake?? Sounds weird but I tried it and it slaps.
