Ravioli lasagna is the perfect solution for when you want the comforting layers of traditional lasagna but without all the time-consuming preparation. This dish takes the best parts of lasagna — the rich tomato sauce, creamy cheese, and savory fillings — and swaps the usual noodles for store-bought ravioli, making it a delicious and quick alternative that still captures all the flavors you love. It’s a crowd-pleasing dish that’s ideal for weeknight dinners or casual family gatherings.
The beauty of ravioli lasagna lies in its simplicity. Instead of the typical lasagna noodles, you use ravioli, which come pre-filled with a variety of options. You can choose from classic cheese-filled ravioli, meat ravioli, or even spinach and ricotta, depending on your preferences. This adds an extra layer of flavor and texture to the lasagna, making it both filling and full of character.
The layers of ravioli are nestled between a rich marinara sauce, often made from scratch or your favorite jarred version, and a creamy mixture of ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. The tomato sauce brings a tangy, savory element that contrasts beautifully with the richness of the cheese filling. A bit of garlic, onions, and Italian seasoning in the sauce enhances the flavor, creating a base that’s both aromatic and satisfying.
As the ravioli bake, they absorb the flavors of the sauce, making them incredibly tender and flavorful. The cheese mixture melts and combines with the sauce, creating a creamy, gooey texture that binds the dish together. A final sprinkle of mozzarella on top creates a beautifully golden, bubbly crust that adds a delicious layer of crispiness.
Ravioli lasagna is incredibly versatile. You can add cooked ground beef, sausage, or even grilled vegetables for extra depth of flavor. Fresh herbs like basil or parsley can be sprinkled on top just before serving to add a pop of color and freshness.
This dish is a perfect option for anyone who loves lasagna but is looking for a quicker, easier version that doesn’t skimp on flavor. Whether you’re short on time or just craving a cozy, comforting meal, ravioli lasagna is a foolproof way to enjoy all the deliciousness of lasagna in half the time.

This was super easy and tasted amazing! My family loved it. Will make again!
Easy to make, but I thought it was a bit bland. Maybe more spices next time?
I think adding garlic powder or red pepper flakes could really kick it up a notch! 😊
Bland? Nah, it’s delicious! But to each their own, I guess.
Yum! I added some ground beef to mine for extra flavor! Just wow, this is a keeper! 4/5!
Okay so I followed it exactly and mine came out a little watery. I think my marinara was too runny. Still edible, just not as thick as I hoped.
Honestly, I dunno why you’d use frozen ravioli. Just make it from scratch! Taste way better.
Ok but why not cook the ravioli first? I feel like the frozen ones need more time. Mine were softer after baking, but I could tell they were still kinda underdone in the middle.
Honestly I would just cook the ravioli first, like boil them till they’re like 70% done, then layer. The oven times are for regular pasta not thick frozen ones. 30 min + 10 min is kinda low imo, especially at 180°C. Mine also always comes out soft but like, middle still hard. Also I think the temp should be 200°C? idk lol
I get what you mean, but this recipe bakes the ravioli while it’s covered in sauce and cheese—so it should steam/heat through. That said, frozen ravioli thickness/brand varies a lot. If yours were underdone, next time I’d either add 5–10 min more covered, or bake a little longer uncovered. Cooking them first might work too, but then you risk them getting too soft and falling apart in the lasagna layers.
I’m skeptical about using frozen ravioli. Isn’t that cheating? I prefer homemade!
Pretty good but I think I put too much cheese. Is that even possible? lol
Perfect for a busy weeknight! Just pop it in the oven and relax!
Pretty good comfort food, but mine came out a little dry after the extra 10 minutes. Maybe my sauce was thicker or I overbaked. Still tasty!
Didn’t turn out like I hoped. My cheese got burnt. Any tips for next time?
I messed this up so bad, put the cheese on top without cooking the ravioli first. Total disaster.
Don’t worry! It happens to the best of us. Next time, just remember to cook the ravioli first. You’ll get it right!
Recipe says to use frozen ravioli, but I don’t think anything is better than real noodles. That’s just wrong.
I’m skeptical about using frozen ravioli layered like this, but the end result surprised me—no dry parts at all. Good comfort food.
Honestly same—frozen ravioli can sound sketchy for lasagna, but the sauce+cheese sealed it. I’m glad you got zero dry parts!
I don’t know… I tried something like this and mine came out watery. Maybe my marinara was too thin? Also “use your favorite brand” is dangerous 😂 but if it’s no-dry, I might try again.
I mixed up the bake time and it got burnt a little. Still tasted good tho!
Glad it still tasted good! Oven times are tricky sometimes. I always set a timer! 😊
Nope, didn’t like it. The ravioli got too mushy for me. I’ll stick to ‘real’ lasagna.
Yummm! I added some spinach and it was fantastic. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Made this tonight—so easy and it actually tastes like a proper lasagna. The cheese gets all bubbly and the marinara really ties it together. Will repeat!
I made this and it was super easy. Even my husband liked it and he thinks he’s a chef!
That’s awesome! I’m glad it turned out well for you. Ravioli lasagna is such a fun twist on the classic!
Wait, did you really say your husband thinks he’s a chef? LOL! Hope he doesn’t start charging for meals now! 😄
180C is maybe too hot? I over-browned the top in my oven. Next time I’ll do 160C. Otherwise pretty good.
It was decent, but I prefer regular lasagna. Just my opinion!
Yum! I added some ground beef for extra flavor and it turned out amazing!
Followed the recipe and it was a complete flop. The ravioli didn’t cook right.
This was super easy to make and my kids loved it! Definitely a keeper!
I have a hard time believing frozen ravioli can be good. I prefer making everything from scratch.
This lasagna is a total game changer! So easy and delicious. Can’t believe how good it turned out! 5 stars!
This was sooo good! My kids loved it, we will definitely make it again!
I followed it exactly and it tasted good, but the middle was a little watery after baking. Next time I’ll drain off any extra sauce from the ravioli package.
This recipe is super easy and soooo delicious! My kids loved it!
This is genius for weeknights. I used store-bought marinara and ricotta and it was still restaurant-y. My kids asked for seconds.
Yes!! Weeknight win. I did the same thing with store-bought marinara and my family ate it way faster than I expected. The ricotta makes it taste way fancier than it is.
So I tried this but I think I used too much sauce… it came out kinda soupy. Still good though, just not “bubbly golden” like the pic. Next time I’ll drain the ravioli a bit (or bake longer).
Ravioli lasagna recipe???? I thought that was a myth! LOL! Anyway, my husband loved it!
This looks amazing! Can’t wait to try it out this weekend. Love ravioli!
Ravioli lasagna? What even is that? Sounds weird but I might try it.
What kind of marinara do you recommend? I usually just use Prego… 😅
I always go for Rao’s marinara! It’s super flavorful compared to Prego. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
This was amazing! So easy to make and a big hit with the family. Will definitely make again!
Really? I found it a bit bland. Maybe I should have added more spices.
So glad to hear you enjoyed it! It’s one of my favorites too. The layers make it so satisfying!
Uh, I can’t believe some people dislike this. Ravioli + cheese = happiness. My momma taught me that.
So easy even my dog could cook it. Haha!
meh… too cheesy, and the herbs did nothing. Wouldnt make again
Weird, the herbs always show up for me 😅 maybe you used a stale jar? I’d try fresh cracked pepper and oregano + garlic powder. Also make sure the ravioli browns a bit—cheese can get bland if it doesn’t get that color.
That’s fair—mine also felt kinda cheese-forward the first time. Next time I’ll add more marinara between layers (or a little sauce on top before baking) so it’s less heavy. Sorry it didn’t work for you!
Not good. The cheese was all gooey and I expected it to be more crispy. Just meh.
I’m not gonna lie, I was skeptical about baking frozen ravioli without boiling them first. But it worked! Next time I’ll probably cover it a touch longer so the ravioli fully softens.
I don’t know about this. Ravioli in a lasagna? Seems weird.
I followed the recipe but it was too bland. Needs some spice or something.
I totally agree! I added some red pepper flakes and garlic powder to mine, and it turned out much better. A little spice goes a long way!
Mine was a little watery, I think because my marinara was thin. Drained the next batch and it came out better. Still a solid weeknight meal.
Yum!!!!!!! I’m gonna make this every week! Cheese overload is life!
Why not just make regular lasagna? The ravioli feels like a shortcut. But hey, it’s cheaper and faster—so I get it.
Honestly I think this *is* lasagna—just using ravioli sheets instead of noodles. Cheaper, faster, and the cheese pockets make it extra rich. Regular lasagna just takes forever 😅
I dunno… ravioli can turn to mush if it’s too watery. Wouldn’t it be better to thaw it first? Also 30 min + 10 seems short for 180C… my stuff needs like an hour, lol.
ravioli lasagna? who knew! nice twist on classic lasagna, thanks!
I didn’t have ricotta, so I used cottage cheese. Kinda weird flavor, but it still worked I guess.
This is so easy! My kids loved it!
I burnt mine. Gotta watch the oven better next time, lol. 😅
Pretty easy for a weeknight meal. My only tweak: I added a little extra mozzarella because I like it extra gooey. Still came out great.
I tried something like this but mine turned out kinda watery. Maybe I used too much sauce? Also, does 180°C mean 350°F right? I’m confused lol. Either way, glad yours worked!
Honestly this sounds super doable. I’m always looking for “weeknight oven magic” and ravioli lasagna is perfect. Extra mozzarella is never a bad call 😄
I don’t understand how anyone would want to eat ravioli lasagna??? Sounds weird.
I actually think it’s really good! Ravioli is delicious and makes it easy to whip up lasagna. You should give it a chance!
I wasn’t sure about this recipe. Ravioli in lasagna? Sounds odd. But it actually worked out pretty well!
I don’t know about those herbs… I never use them 🤷♀️
This was amazing! I added some spinach and it turned out delicious. Definitely making this again!
Glad to hear you loved it! Spinach is a great addition! 😊
Not bad, but I felt like it needed more sauce—like the ravioli dried out a bit at the edges. Also 180°C seems low? Might be my oven.
I didn’t have whole-milk ricotta so I used skim—didn’t melt the same and the texture felt a little weird. Still edible, just not as good.
Ugh, I hate when that happens 😅 Skim ricotta just doesn’t have the same richness—whole milk really helps it melt and set up properly. Next time you could mix in a splash of cream (or even a little extra mozzarella) to mimic the fat. Glad it was still edible though!
Made it with a store brand ravioli and it still turned out great. I’d maybe add a little garlic/pepper, but the flavor is already solid.
Nice! Store-brand ravioli is totally the move sometimes. Garlic/pepper would definitely kick it up a notch—might try that next time 😋
Made this last night! My kids devoured it. Will definitely make again!
Such a quick fixation for when im lazy. Best recipe ever!!
Looks yummy, but can you really call it lasagna? It’s sorta just ravioli stacked, right?
Totally agree! This is my go-to for lazy dinners. So easy and delish!
5 stars all the way!! My family devoured it. I added some sausage too. Yum!!
I’m glad you liked it! Sausage sounds like a delicious addition. I might try that too! 😋
I love how simple this is! It saved dinner on a busy night. Highly recommend!
Ravioli lasagna? Is that even real food? Looks weird. Not for me.
Not sure about this… Ravioli and lasagna together? Seems like a lazy way to make lasagna, but who knows?
I think it sounds delicious! Ravioli is great and combining it with lasagna could be a game-changer. Can’t wait to try it!
Wow, this was super easy and my kids loved it! Definitely making this again, thanks!
I used tortellini instead of ravioli, does that count? 😂
Haha, I think it still works! Tortellini is like ravioli’s cousin, right? 😂
Not sure if it counts. Isn’t ravioli different? Like the shape or something. 🤔
Can’t believe how easy this was. Even a caveman could do it! 🦕
So easy! My kids loved it and I didn’t even have to slave in the kitchen. Thanks for this recipe!
I accidentally used the wrong sauce. It was still good, but next time I’ll try the marinara.
Glad you still enjoyed it! Can’t wait to hear how it turns out with the marinara next time!
This was not good for me. I had to add spices like chili coz it was flat! 🥴
It’s ok I guess. But I like red sauce better than cheese ones.
Tried this tonight—so easy and honestly tastes like more effort than it really is. The cheese on top gets nicely bubbly. Will make again.
