Deliciously spicy and cheesy jalapeno poppers
Ingredients
- 12 jalapeno peppers fresh
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup bacon cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs large, beaten
- 1 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the jalapeno peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Fill each jalapeno half with the cream cheese mixture.
- Dip each filled jalapeno in the flour, then the beaten eggs, and finally the breadcrumbs, making sure to coat them evenly.
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Fry the breaded jalapeno poppers in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Transfer the fried poppers to a baking sheet and bake them in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve the jalapeno poppers hot and enjoy!
