Lemon chicken with potatoes is the ultimate simple yet flavorful dish that brings together juicy chicken, crispy golden potatoes, and a zesty lemon garlic sauce in one pan. This easy meal is perfect for weeknights when you want something satisfying, but without too much fuss.
The star of this dish is the lemon. The citrusy brightness cuts through the richness of the chicken and potatoes, infusing the entire dish with a fresh, tangy flavor. Start by seasoning the chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic. Brown it in a hot skillet until golden on the outside and cooked through on the inside. Once the chicken is done, remove it from the pan and set it aside.
Next, toss your potatoes into the same pan, using the flavorful bits left behind by the chicken. As they cook, the potatoes crisp up, developing a beautiful golden crust while absorbing all the savory juices. This not only adds flavor but also helps to create a deliciously rich base for the lemon garlic sauce.
The sauce comes together quickly, simply squeeze fresh lemon juice into the pan, add a bit of garlic, olive oil, and seasonings like thyme or rosemary, and let everything simmer together for a few minutes. Return the chicken to the pan to soak in the sauce, ensuring that every bite is bursting with flavor.
For an extra pop of color and freshness, sprinkle some fresh parsley or additional lemon zest over the dish just before serving. You can pair it with a side of steamed vegetables or a crisp salad to balance out the richness of the chicken and potatoes.
This lemon chicken with potatoes is a comforting yet bright meal that’s perfect for any night of the week. It’s quick, flavorful, and a great way to elevate the everyday chicken dinner with minimal effort and maximum flavor.

I don’t understand the hype. My chicken was dry and the potatoes wouldn’t cook through. Too much lemon, I think.
I’m skeptical… can chicken really be cooked with just lemons and garlic? I might try it but sounds risky.
It’s just chicken, how can that be a 5 star? 🤷♂️
Lemon chicken? I thought it was lemon fish before readin it 🤦♂️. Worked out tho!
Uh, can you just cook the chicken longer? Mine was pink inside!!
Cooking it longer might help, but you also gotta make sure the inside reaches 165°F. That’s the safe temp for chicken!
I don’t really cook but this seemed simple enough. It was good! Thanks!
So easy to make! I love one-pan recipes. Adding this to my rotation!
Was this supposed to taste like lemon? I barely tasted it. Bad experience.
I had the same issue! I think it needs more lemons or maybe some lemon zest?!
Maybe your lemons weren’t ripe? I thought it tasted great! More lemon for me!
Lemon chicken? Really? Who does that? Never again!
Lemon on chicken? Yuck! Sounds weird to me. I don’t know why anyone would mix those flavors! Stick to traditional recipes.
I think lemon chicken sounds delicious! The acidity of the lemon really enhances the flavor of the chicken. I can’t believe you didn’t like it!
Simple and tasty! I will make it again. Really liked the garlic with the chicken. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This seems easy, but are you sure the chicken won’t be dry? 🤔 I might skip the broiling part.
I totally agree! Garlic makes everything better. Can’t wait to try this my way with some added spices! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
