Hot Honey Cottage Cheese Sweet Potato Beef Bowl

December 9, 2025

A hot honey cottage cheese sweet potato beef bowl brings together a mix of flavors and textures that feel comforting, bold, and balanced all at once. It is the kind of meal that tastes indulgent while still offering plenty of nourishment, making it perfect for busy weeknights or meal prep. Each element plays its own role, and when layered together, the bowl becomes a warm, satisfying dish with a hint of sweetness, a touch of spice, and plenty of protein.

The base of this bowl is roasted sweet potato. When cooked until tender and slightly caramelized, sweet potatoes bring natural sweetness that pairs beautifully with savory toppings. They also add color and heartiness, making every bite feel wholesome. Cutting them into cubes and roasting them with olive oil, salt, and paprika gives them a golden finish and a soft interior that anchors the entire dish.

Seasoned beef brings richness and depth. A quick sauté with garlic, onion, and your favorite spices turns simple ground beef into a flavorful topping that complements the sweetness of the potatoes. Chili powder, cumin, or smoked paprika work especially well, giving the meat a warm aroma without overpowering the other ingredients. Cook the beef until browned and slightly crisp for the best texture.

Cottage cheese may seem like an unexpected addition, but it brings creamy freshness that lightens the entire bowl. Its mild flavor blends effortlessly with the beef and sweet potatoes, adding protein and a cool contrast to the warm ingredients. Spoon it in generously and let it settle into the bowl for a smooth, comforting layer.

The final touch is hot honey. Drizzling it over the top creates the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The honey enhances the natural sweetness of the potatoes, while the heat adds a playful kick that ties everything together. You can adjust the amount based on how bold you want the flavor to be.

What makes this bowl so appealing is its customizable nature. Add spinach or kale for extra greens, sprinkle with green onions for brightness, or top with crushed nuts or seeds for crunch. It is a complete, satisfying meal that is easy to assemble and even easier to enjoy.

A hot honey cottage cheese sweet potato beef bowl proves that balanced meals do not have to be complicated. With simple ingredients layered thoughtfully, you get a dish that feels comforting, modern, and full of character.

Followed it pretty much exactly. The sweet potatoes came out perfectly caramelized. I added a little extra hot sauce and it was still well-balanced.

Not sure how I feel about cottage cheese, but the rest sounds delicious.

Cottage cheese is actually really good for you! You might like it once you try it with the sweet potatoes and hot honey. Gives it a unique flavor!

I can’t find hot sauce anywhere! Is there a substitute? Asking because I want it now! 🍽️

    1. User avatar alphonso.wilderman1959 says:

What? No hot sauce? Just use ketchup, it’s good enough! 😂

    2. User avatar ellis.zemlak says:

      5 stars
You can use sriracha or even chili powder if you have that! 😊

Cottage cheese? Seriously? Yuck! I’m sticking to my old recipes.

  5. 4 stars
I’m not sure about cottage cheese in a savory bowl… but I tried it and it worked. The tang is kinda refreshing against the heat. Would still add more seasoning though.

  6. User avatar devora.stoltenberg says:

    4 stars
I added a quick salad like it suggests (mixed greens + cucumber) and it tasted fresh. Would make again for meal prep.

  7. User avatar nanette.koepp86 says:

This is literally the best recipe I’ve tried all month! The hot honey is a game changer.

  8. User avatar brent.ledner7 says:

Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about cottage cheese in a savory bowl, but it actually worked. Texture was creamy and mellowed the heat. Good balance overall.

  9. User avatar esteban.hettinger66 says:

    3 stars
Beef cooked in 6-8 minutes was perfect for me. I did salt/pepper on everything though—recipe kinda assumes you’ll wing it.

  10. User avatar stephine.hahn says:

    4 stars
I love that it’s healthy and filling! Used regular honey and it worked too.

  11. 2 stars
Isn’t honey for sweet things? Mixing it with hot sauce?? Hmm.

  12. User avatar julius.ebert82 says:

    3 stars
I’m skeptical about cottage cheese in a bowl like this. Sounds weird but might give it a shot.

  13. User avatar tissues_with_issues says:

    4 stars
I followed it mostly, except I ran out of olive oil so I used butter and… yeah it was fine. Hot honey saved it though. Will make again.

  14. User avatar shameka.legros says:

    3 stars
Cottage cheese? Really?? That’s weird. I’m not convinced but I’ll give it a shot.

    1. User avatar Leto Atreides says:

      5 stars
I was skeptical too, but this bowl is amazing! The cottage cheese really adds a creamy texture that balances the spiciness. Give it a try, you won’t regret it!

  15. 4 stars
Quick and easy! But I forgot the honey and it was still fine.

    1. User avatar elenor.ohara says:

      5 stars
Sounds good! I like that you can skip the honey and still enjoy it. Will try it soon!

  16. User avatar verline.durgan says:

    2 stars
I don’t know, cottage cheese in a savory bowl for me is hit or miss. If I make it, I’d probably use less hot sauce because the sweet potato already has sweetness.

  17. User avatar mariano.lindgren says:

    2 stars
Too complicated! It’s just sweet potato and ground beef, I’m busy ya know? 🥴

  18. User avatar thresa.shanahan37 says:

Lean ground beef + roasted sweet potato + spicy-sweet drizzle = comfort food. Would add onions/garlic though, just for extra flavor.

  19. User avatar nichole.jaskolski24 says:

Yum! My family devoured this. Even my picky eater liked it! 💖

  20. User avatar laure.price84 says:

Not gonna lie, cottage cheese on top of beef is kinda… idk. The flavor was fine but the texture felt off for me.

  21. User avatar jammie.jenkins24 says:

    3 stars
This was just okay, I think it needs more flavor. Maybe garlic or onions would help? Just a thought.

  22. User avatar No'Ez Yohma says:

The oven temp is good but I’d watch it. 400°F can go from golden to too dark fast depending on your oven. Mine always runs hot, sadly.

Hot honey + cottage cheese is such a wild combo—in a good way. The sweet potato makes it feel hearty and not too spicy.

  24. User avatar Feyd-Rautha Rabban says:

Cottage cheese?! I didn’t realize this was a health recipe.

  25. 2 stars
I don’t think cottage cheese belongs in a beef bowl. Just gross.

  26. 5 stars
Made this for lunch today and it was so filling! I’ll be making it again for sure.

  27. 5 stars
This was so simple to make! Loved it, especially the drizzle of hot honey.

  28. User avatar freddie.littel77 says:

    2 stars
Meh. My hot honey burned in the pan (I know it says mix, not cook) so I had to start over. Still ate it though 😅

  29. 4 stars
I did this for dinner tonight and it honestly slapped. Next time I’ll use a little more hot sauce so the kick shows up more.

  30. 5 stars
Hot honey + sweet potato + cottage cheese actually sounds like a really solid combo. Gonna try it this week—love the sweet/heat balance.

    1. 5 stars
Hot honey + sweet potato is such an underrated combo 😮‍💨—adding cottage cheese actually makes it sound creamy, not just sweet. Please post how it turns out!

  31. User avatar Ford Prefect says:

    3 stars
Hot honey? That’s weired. But okay, maybe it works.

  32. 3 stars
Not bad, but my beef was a lil dry. Next time I’ll add some more sauces.

  33. User avatar Saruman the White says:

    4 stars
400°F for 25-30 min should be fine, but sweet potatoes can vary a lot—mine always take closer to 35. Still, great simple roasting approach.

    1. User avatar tammy.labadie2 says:

      5 stars
Agree—sweet potatoes really do run the gamut. I’d rather check at 25 min than wait for the “golden brown” promise. Great bowl idea though, hot honey sounds perfect.

    2. 4 stars
Hmm I tried sweet potato at 400 before and it was still hard at 30 min, so I get what you mean. Also cottage cheese with beef… kinda brave lol. But if it tastes good I’m in!

  34. 3 stars
The sweet potato was too soft for my liking. Might try with regular potatoes next time.

  35. User avatar Mrs. Haywood Baumbach says:

    2 stars
I thought this was gonna be better. Meat and sweet potato don’t go together well in my opinion.

  36. User avatar jarrett.hegmann says:

    3 stars
I subsitute soy sauce for the honey and come out just as good, trust me! 🥡

  37. User avatar sarina.steuber says:

    5 stars
This was surprisingly delicious! The hot honey added such a nice kick!

  38. User avatar jame.mcdermott81 says:

    4 stars
This is delicious but “with preferred salad”???? I used pickles and it was amazing lol. Sweet potato + beef + that spicy-sweet sauce is a win.

  39. User avatar randall.conroy54 says:

    5 stars
This is lowkey fire 🔥 but I’d use more hot sauce. 1 tablespoon hot sauce to taste sounds like you’ll be scared of flavor.

    1. User avatar jules.mcclure says:

      5 stars
Haha fair point 😅 I was trying to be “balanced” but yeah 1 tbsp hot sauce can be pretty timid depending on the brand. I’ll bump it next time—especially if someone likes it spicy.

  40. User avatar ellis.pagac11 says:

    5 stars
This is a game changer! I never thought to put honey with hot sauce on beef. So good!

  41. User avatar Grandpa Gohan says:

    4 stars
The hot honey part is the star. I’m not usually a cottage cheese person, but it melted into the bowl surprisingly well. Will make again.

  42. 2 stars
Not sure I get the point of the cottage cheese—sounds like it’s just for protein. Would’ve been better with like sour cream or yogurt or something. Still ate it tho.

  43. User avatar winter.schuppe1 says:

    4 stars
Yum! I made this for dinner last night and my family loved it! So good!

  44. User avatar Shantae Schamberger says:

    3 stars
Okay so do we really need the hot honey? Can it be just honey?

  45. User avatar walker.dickinson1993 says:

    5 stars
This combo is honestly dangerously good—sweet potato + savory beef + that hot honey drizzle? Chef’s kiss. I added extra hot sauce and it worked.

    1. 3 stars
Sounds good but I’m kinda confused—do you mix the honey with hot sauce *and* also add 1 tsp hot sauce to taste? I used both and it got really spicy so next time I’ll do less.

    2. 5 stars
Omg I made this and the hot honey + cottage cheese combo is unreal 😮‍💨 Sweet, spicy, and still super filling. I didn’t even miss cheese sauce. 10/10.

  46. 5 stars
Hot honey + cottage cheese is a wild combo—in a good way. Sweet potato bowl sounds super filling. I’d just make sure the hot sauce amount doesn’t overpower the honey.

  47. 3 stars
I followed the instructions but my hot honey turned out kinda thick? Maybe my honey was old. Still tasted good though, just harder to drizzle.

  48. User avatar nerissa.parisian59 says:

    1 star
Super easy recipe, but honey and hot sauce just sounds wrong. Not my vibe.

  49. 5 stars
Tasty bowl, bro! I would add some avocado next time! Just saying!

    1. User avatar Falmer Nightprowler says:

      5 stars
Avocado sounds like a great idea! I’d never thought about adding that. Thanks for the tip!

  50. 2 stars
Too many flavors for me. Didn’t really like the cottage cheese part. Will stick to meat and potatoes.

  51. User avatar jared.volkman19 says:

    5 stars
What does the hot honey even taste like? I gotta know!

  52. User avatar glayds.hauck17 says:

    5 stars
This is the best thing I’ve ever made! So easy and tasty. I can’t believe how well the hot honey pairs with it. Def going to make again!

  53. 5 stars
That hot honey + cottage cheese combo is weirdly genius. I’m trying this ASAP—sweet potato bowls are my weakness.

    1. User avatar terence.jakubowski says:

      2 stars
Hot honey with cottage cheese… I don’t know. Sweet potato is good, beef is good, but that combo sounds off to me. Also “perfered salad” is spelled weird lol. I’d probably swap cottage cheese for sour cream or yogurt.

    2. User avatar otha.effertz says:

      5 stars
Ok but this sounds SO good 😭 sweet potato + savory beef + that hot honey?? I’m making it tonight. Any idea if low-fat cottage cheese still tastes creamy?

  54. User avatar shizue.hettinger says:

    3 stars
This is okay, but it needs more seasoning. I followed the steps and it tasted a little plain without adding more salt/pepper. Also, “preferred salad” isn’t a thing? lol I added greens anyway.

  55. User avatar sabrina.steuber5 says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about cottage cheese here, but it’s creamy and mild. Next time I’ll season the beef a bit more.

  56. 4 stars
My kids actually ate the sweet potados!! So impressed! Thanks!

  57. User avatar Pasta Fasta says:

    2 stars
I dunno, I thought the sweet potato was too sweet and the cottage cheese was kinda gross. 🤷‍♂️

    1. User avatar Arwen Evenstar says:

      4 stars
I actually loved the sweetness! The honey and sweet potato combo is bomb! But I get that it’s not for everyone. 🤔

  58. User avatar willie.okuneva27 says:

    2 stars
I don’t get the cottage cheese part. It tastes kinda tangy already, and then hot honey is sweet—seems like it might clash.

    1. User avatar CTRLplusW says:

      4 stars
I get where you’re coming from, but for me the tanginess from the cottage cheese doesn’t “fight” the hot honey—it actually balances it. The sweet rounds out the tang, and the hot sauce cuts through so it doesn’t taste like straight dessert.

    1. 2 stars
Meh same vibe. Cottage cheese + sweet potato sounds interesting but hot honey bowls can be hit or miss for me.

  59. User avatar carma.hessel1986 says:

    5 stars
Hot honey in a savory bowl is genius. I used less hot sauce because I’m a wimp, and it was still tasty.

  60. User avatar CTRLplusW says:

    2 stars
I tried similar bowls and the hot honey always overpowers everything. Also the “perfered salad” thing—no clue what that means, lol. Might need more balance.

    1. 5 stars
Totally get you—hot honey can be overwhelming. I’d start with less hot sauce in the mix (or drizzle half, taste, then add more). And “perfered salad” is probably just a typo for “whatever/your preferred salad.” A crunchy, acidic salad (like greens + a squeeze of lemon or vinegar) usually balances the sweetness/spice really well.

  61. User avatar Meriadoc Brandybuck says:

    5 stars
Loved this recipe! My whole family enjoyed it, even the kids.

  62. User avatar lucien.okuneva37 says:

    5 stars
This is really simple to make and soooo tasty! Will make again!

  63. User avatar garry.borer says:

    4 stars
Made it just now! Good but sweet potatos took longer than expected.

  64. User avatar vallie.christiansen2002 says:

    5 stars
Yummm!! I love the combo of sweet and spicy. Perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. 😍

  65. User avatar willard.keebler9 says:

    4 stars
Not bad! But I think I add too much hot sauce and it was blazing! Next time, lighter on the sauce.

  66. User avatar wilber.lynch2007 says:

    4 stars
Honestly, I skipped the cottage cheese and used plain Greek yogurt. Same idea, and it tasted better to me. Would do again.

    1. 5 stars
That makes total sense—Greek yogurt is a great swap. I bet the tang works really well with the hot honey too.

  67. User avatar elenor.casper91 says:

    5 stars
400F for 25-30 mins is perfect for cubes like that—mine came out golden. Hot honey drizzle was the best part.

  68. User avatar aldo.langworth2022 says:

    4 stars
This sounds tasty but I’m not sure about the ratios. 1/2 cup cottage cheese feels like it might get lost under all that sauce—maybe add more if you want it creamy.

  69. User avatar stephen.abshire30 says:

    4 stars
This is pretty good but the instructions are a bit sloppy. Also the HTML in step 6… who left that in lol. Still, flavors are nice.

  70. User avatar morris.nitzsche says:

    4 stars
I tried something like this and it was weirdly good? Sweet potato sweet, honey sweet, then beef savory… not mad at it.

    1. 5 stars
Not gonna lie, the sweet potato + hot honey + beef combo sounds kinda wild… but also like it would hit. I’m curious—did the cottage cheese taste tangy enough to cut through the sweetness?

  71. 4 stars
Cottage cheese on savory bowls always sounds a little off to me… but honestly it worked. Texture was the main thing—good if you like creamy.

    1. 3 stars
Not gonna lie, cottage cheese on a savory bowl still sounds weird to me 😅 but if it worked for you… I’d try it. Do you think Greek yogurt would be similar?

    2. User avatar almeta.runolfsson81 says:

      4 stars
I was skeptical about the cottage cheese too, but the texture note is spot on. Creamy + sweet potato is actually a great combo. I might add a little garlic next time.

  72. User avatar franklin.price says:

    2 stars
I tried it and the hot honey was too much for me. Like, sweet + spicy overwhelmed the beef. Maybe I used too much hot sauce—still, the concept is cool.

    1. User avatar elisha.marquardt2014 says:

      4 stars
Totally hear you—hot honey can overpower savory stuff fast. I’d cut the hot sauce way down (like start with 1/2 tsp instead of a full tsp) or drizzle it in stages so it doesn’t drown the beef. Cool combo though!

  73. User avatar Pasta Fasta says:

    5 stars
Hot honey + cottage cheese is such a weird combo—in a good way. The sweet potato probably helps balance the heat. I’m definitely making this soon.

    1. User avatar aurelio.lang38 says:

      5 stars
This actually sounds kinda genius 😅 sweet + spicy with the cottage cheese is my weakness. I’d swap in a little extra hot honey though.

  74. User avatar so.macgyver says:

    3 stars
I followed it mostly, but mine came out a little dry. I think I cooked the beef a touch too long and didn’t season enough. Still tasted good with extra drizzle though.

  75. 3 stars
This dish sounds funky. Sweet potatoes and beef? I’m skeptical but will try it. Guess we’ll see!

    1. User avatar Slaughterfish says:

      4 stars
I thought the same at first! But sweet potatoes go well with savory beef. Can’t wait to try it myself!

  76. User avatar faith.beatty61 says:

    4 stars
Very healthy! I don’t like honey, so I used sugar. Still good, but maybe not as good. 4 out of 5 stars from me!

  77. User avatar caron.nicolas53 says:

    3 stars
Not gonna lie, I’m skeptical about cottage cheese in a savory bowl. But after tasting it, it actually worked—creamy without being weird.

  78. User avatar wayne.wyman says:

    5 stars
Hot honey + cottage cheese is such a weird combo… and I’m kinda obsessed. This bowl sounds hearty but not heavy. Gonna try it exactly as written!

  79. User avatar Alia Atreides says:

    4 stars
Confession: I wasn’t sure about cottage cheese in a savory bowl, but it worked. The tang balances the honey. Next time I’ll chop the sweet potatoes smaller for even roasting.

    1. User avatar armand.langworth2003 says:

      5 stars
Okay I’m convinced 😄 I also doubted cottage cheese with savory, but the tang + honey combo makes total sense. Chopping the sweet potatoes smaller next time is a great call for even roasting.

  80. User avatar faustino.lehner69 says:

    2 stars
400°F seems high for sweet potatoes for 25-30 min—mine got a little dried on the edges. Still edible though, just next time I’ll check earlier.

  81. 3 stars
Not bad, but the ratios felt a little off for me—200g beef and only 1/2 cup cottage cheese left it kinda light. If you’re hungry-hungry, double the beef.

    1. User avatar emmitt.shields71 says:

      4 stars
I get what you mean—200g beef is solid but the 1/2 cup cottage cheese makes it feel kinda “lighter” than expected. Doubling the beef (or adding a bit more cottage cheese) would probably make it hit harder. Not bad though!

    2. User avatar gil.murphy23 says:

      3 stars
Hungry-hungry? Yes. I followed it exactly and was still like… where’s the rest lol. Next time I’ll double the beef like you said. Also, the sweet potato portion is great.

  82. 5 stars
Hot honey + cottage cheese on sweet potato is such a weird combo… in the best way. I added extra hot sauce and it was super satisfying. Will make again!

  83. User avatar adelaide.pagac says:

I made this but forgot the hot honey step (facepalm). Still ate it, but it felt like it was missing something big. 😅

    1. User avatar williams.kuhn says:

      4 stars
Oh nooo 😅 but honestly I get it—hot honey really is the “finishing move.” Without it the bowl’s probably a bit more… bland-sweet than spicy-sweet.

    2. 5 stars
Facepalm 😂 I think the hot honey is basically the whole flavor. Next time just do a quick mix of honey + hot sauce while the beef is cooking.

  84. 5 stars
Super quick weeknight meal. I meal-prepped the beef and roasted potatoes ahead of time. Reheating was fine, but don’t drizzle the hot honey until serving.

  85. 5 stars
This sounds like a really fun sweet-and-spicy combo. The hot honey on cottage cheese is such a vibe—def trying it for dinner this week.

    1. User avatar kris.greenfelder10 says:

      5 stars
Yesss hot honey + cottage cheese is a legit combo. I’m making this this week too—thanks for the idea!

  86. User avatar Fidel Schneider says:

I thought it would be too sweet, but the hot sauce cuts it nicely. Next time I might add garlic powder to the beef for more depth.

Hot honey + sweet potato is such a good combo—glad the hot sauce keeps it from getting cloying. Garlic powder in the beef sounds perfect for that extra depth too!

I followed it pretty closely, but I added garlic and a pinch of smoked paprika to the beef. Next time I’ll use a little more hot sauce for a stronger kick.

I liked the idea, but mine was a bit too sweet. Next time I’ll cut the honey down and use more hot sauce for a spicier kick.

Not sure about mixing honey with hot sauce and then just drizzling—seems like it could get kinda sticky and overpower everything.

The instructions are easy, but the last step says “perfered salad” lol—what salad are we supposed to use? Spinach? arugula?

  91. User avatar regine.hyatt says:

I made this for dinner and it was actually really good. The sweet potato got nice and caramelized, and the hot honey gave it that sweet-heat kick. I added a little extra hot sauce—no regrets.

The roast time was spot on for my oven (about 28 min). I was skeptical about honey on savory, but it actually balances the saltiness nicely.

    1. User avatar stanley.glover says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—28 min is about right for my oven too. I’m usually not a honey-on-savory person, but the hot honey thing actually makes it taste way more balanced than I expected.

Hot honey cottage cheese… honestly kinda weird but in a “maybe it works” way. I’ll give it a shot—if it’s gross I’m blaming the honey.

    1. User avatar georgina.thiel72 says:

Hot honey cottage cheese sounds gross ngl… cottage cheese is already tangy, and adding honey + hot sauce feels like it would taste like weird breakfast medicine. But hey, if you blame the honey, it’s at least the honey’s fault lol.

    2. 4 stars
I get what you mean 😅 Hot honey on savory stuff can be a game changer. Cottage cheese might sound odd, but with the sweet + spicy it could actually work really well.

  94. User avatar allegra.spinka2001 says:

This is a cool meal prep idea. 1) roast sweet potatoes 2) cook beef 3) drizzle sauce… easy. Hot honey makes everything better.

  95. User avatar trinidad.glover says:

Okay but the instructions say “preferred salad” (like… what salad? 😅). Still, the idea is solid. I’d probably do arugula or something crunchy.

  96. 5 stars
The combo of sweet potato + beef + cottage cheese is surprisingly good. The hot honey drizzle really pulls it together—spicy-sweet is the way to go.

Amazing. My whole family asked for seconds. I did add extra salad like the note said, and it helped a lot. Five stars.

That sounds awesome—extra salad really does make it perfect with the hot honey. Love that your whole family wanted seconds! 🙌

  98. 4 stars
400°F for 30 mins worked great, but my sweet potatoes took a little longer because I cut them bigger. Overall solid bowl.

  99. User avatar darnell.little51 says:

    4 stars
My only concern is cooking times. 25–30 minutes at 400°F for sweet potato cubes depends on size… I’d cut them smaller. Otherwise it’ll be chewy.

  100. User avatar Oolon Colluphid says:

Pretty solid idea, but 1/2 cup cottage cheese over beef and sweet potato felt like it might get watery or cool everything down. Still, I like the flavor direction.

I tried something similar with hot honey and it was amazing. This bowl format is nice too—less mess. Also, honey + hot sauce is basically my love language lol.

I’d swap the lean ground beef for turkey. Also maybe more hot sauce in the cottage cheese mix because I like it spicy-spicy.

  103. 4 stars
Pretty good concept, but I’d add more seasoning to the beef. 1 tsp hot sauce might be mild depending on brand.

  104. User avatar nova.hand says:

The sweet potatoes roasted perfectly, but my beef needed more salt. Still, the whole bowl came together pretty quick.

    1. 5 stars
Glad you liked it! I totally get the salt thing—mine also always needs a little extra depending on the beef. Did you season the beef itself or only the sweet potatoes?

    2. User avatar noelia.jacobs0 says:

      3 stars
Hmm I cooked mine and it was okay but not “perfect” like that. Also I think I musta burnt the honey? It got kinda dark quick. Still, quick meal though lol.

  105. User avatar whitley.howell says:

perfered salad?? lol. But seriously, I like the concept. I’d add greens and maybe some crunch (like pickles) so the bowl isn’t just soft textures.

  106. User avatar cynthia.ebert27 says:

perfered salad? lol. anyway i used leftovers and it was mid. the sweet potato was good but the bowl needed more seasoning

The hot honey part is great, but 200g cottage cheese felt like too much for me. Also I accidentally roasted longer (like 40 min) and it turned darker—still edible. Weirdly fine!

  108. User avatar suspiciousCommentator says:

I liked the idea, but my sweet potatoes took longer than 30 minutes to really brown. Also I used regular cottage cheese and it was a little tangier than I expected.

    1. User avatar Josue Pouros says:

      4 stars
Good point—sweet potatoes can definitely take longer than 30 min depending on how big the cubes are and your oven. Next time I’d cube smaller or roast a bit longer. And yeah, regular cottage cheese is tangier than low-fat/used ones, so I get that. Still sounds tasty though!

Cottage cheese in a savory bowl always feels weird to me. Texture was okay, but the flavor didn’t blend as much as I hoped.

  110. 3 stars
I did “hot honey” way too spicy. Like, my lips are still recovering 😅 Would recommend starting with less hot sauce unless you’re a chili person.

  111. User avatar lakenya.langworth82 says:

Pretty solid meal prep idea. Sweet potatoes roasted perfectly, beef was flavorful, and the hot honey gave it that sweet-spicy kick. I’d maybe use more cottage cheese next time.

  112. 2 stars
I tried it and it was bland until I added garlic powder + more hot sauce. If you don’t season, it’ll be meh.

  113. User avatar wm.beahan92 says:

I don’t know… seems like too many flavors fighting each other. Hot honey on beef sounds good, but cottage cheese in a bowl is a hard no for me. Wouldn’t repeat.

  114. 3 stars
I think 1/2 cup cottage cheese is too much? Mine got watery and separated a little. Might be the brand I used.

  115. User avatar millard.mcglynn42 says:

    2 stars
Could you please clarify the ‘to taste (optional) salt and pepper’ part? I guessed a bit and mine came out a little bland, but the idea is solid.

    1. 5 stars
I think you might’ve skipped the salt/pepper on the sweet potatoes step. Also 400°F for 25-30 min doesn’t always crisp—mine needs closer to 35. Add extra honey/hot sauce if it still feels bland. Yum though!

    2. User avatar Super Saiyan Goku says:

      4 stars
Sure! “To taste” just means season at the end with small pinches. If yours was bland, try starting with like 1/4 tsp salt for the sweet potatoes (before roasting) and then add a little more to the bowl once assembled. Pepper too—taste and adjust.

Hot honey + cottage cheese is such a weirdly perfect combo. I made it for meal prep and it didn’t get soggy somehow. Sweet, spicy, and filling!

    1. User avatar maybelle.haley3 says:

Yes!! The sweet/salty combo with the hot honey hits so hard. I also love that the cottage cheese stays creamy instead of getting weird.

    2. User avatar foster.hane1954 says:

I tried hot honey on cottage cheese once and it kinda slid off 😅 but your bowl idea with sweet potato and beef actually makes sense. What hot sauce brand did you use?

  118. User avatar gerry.kuhn33 says:

Cottage cheese in a savory bowl still feels kinda yogurt-ish to me. I’m skeptical, but the hot honey might win me over.

    1. 2 stars
hmm i’m not convinced. cottage cheese in a beef bowl just sounds off to me… like where’s the cheese sauce vibe lol. Hot honey might save it tho.

    2. 4 stars
I totally get the yogurt-ish hesitation 😅 but once it’s warm and mixed with that sweet-hot honey, cottage cheese turns more savory than tangy. I’d give it a shot!

  119. User avatar Vladimir Harkonnen says:

This feels like it’s trying too hard. Hot sauce + honey + beef + cottage cheese? Idk. I’d rather just do one flavor theme. Also 400°F for 30 mins seems long for small cubes.
