If there’s one dish that consistently saves dinner when time is short, it’s shrimp stir-fry. Fast, fresh, and packed with flavor, this go-to meal brings together juicy shrimp, crisp vegetables, and a savory sauce in under 30 minutes. It’s the kind of recipe you can rely on after a long day or when your fridge is full of odds and ends that need to be used.
Shrimp are perfect for stir-frying. They cook in just a few minutes and absorb flavor beautifully. Whether you’re using fresh or frozen, a quick rinse and pat dry is all it takes to get them ready. From there, it’s all about the heat. A hot pan or wok is key to achieving that slightly charred edge and locking in flavor.
The vegetables are where you can get creative. Bell peppers, snow peas, carrots, broccoli, mushrooms, or bok choy – it’s really up to what you have on hand. Slice them thin so they cook quickly and keep their crunch. You’ll want to stir-fry the veggies first in a little oil, then set them aside while you cook the shrimp. Once both are done, toss everything back in with a sauce that ties it all together.
The sauce is the heart of the dish. A simple combination of soy sauce, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and a touch of honey or brown sugar creates a balance of salty, sweet, and savory. Add a splash of rice vinegar or lime juice for acidity, and some chili flakes or sriracha if you like a kick. Cornstarch mixed with a bit of water helps the sauce thicken and coat everything nicely.
Serve your stir-fry over steamed rice, noodles, or even cauliflower rice for a lighter option. It’s a complete meal that feels special without the effort of a big production. Best of all, it’s endlessly adaptable – try different vegetables, swap in tofu or chicken, or change up the sauce.
Shrimp stir-fry is proof that a fast meal can still be deeply satisfying and full of flavor.
So, whether you’re craving a delicious meal, interested in exploring Asian cuisine, or looking for a healthy and satisfying option, Shrimp Stir-Fry is the perfect choice. Give it a try and let its flavors transport you to a world of culinary delight!

This took me forever to make! I’m not a good cook. 😂
This was a total flop, the shrimp were rubbery. Never cooking shrimp again!
Simple and quick! I added some chili flakes for a kick. Yummy!
I love the idea of adding chili flakes! Gonna try that next time. 👍🏼
Hoisin sauce? I used BBQ sauce instead, not sure if that counts. Still tasted good, tho. 😅
BBQ sauce? That’s interesting! I’m sure it adds a nice twist. Glad you enjoyed it! 🍤
OMG this was so good!! I put it on top of rice and it was perfect!
Delish! I love how quick it was to make. Perfect weeknight meal!
I dunno, seems a bit too fast. Can it really be that good in just 10 minutes? 🤔
Totally agree! This recipe saved me on a busy night. Shrimp are my favorite!
Shrimp freak me out 😬. But I made it with chicken and it was fine. Who needs shrimp anyway?
So quick and easy! Perfect for a weeknight dinner! 💖
This seemed easy but I still messed it up lol. Cooking is not my thing.
Don’t worry! Mistakes happen to the best of us. Maybe try again, it gets easier!
I followed the recipe but it turned out too salty. Maybe less soy sauce next time.
Not impressed. The shrimp were overcooked and rubbery. 😕
Fine recipe overall, but I think you could use chicken instead of shrimp, would that still work?
I think chicken would be fine! Just make sure to adjust the cooking time since chicken takes longer. Sounds yummy either way! 🍗
Will try! Looks easy. Hope it turns out like the restaurant version! 🤞
I don’t know, it was okay but I’ve had better stir-fry at a restaurant. Just not impressed 😕.
This was so good! Easy recipe and I loved the flavors. Will make it again!
So easy and fast! My kids loved it! I used frozen shrimp and it worked fine. Thanks for sharing!
I’m not a big fan of shrimp, can I use chicken instead?
Tastes good, but I didn’t have hoisin sauce, so I skipped it. Still okay!
Glad you still enjoyed it! Hoisin does add a nice flavor, but it sounds like you made it work. Yum!
I added broccoli and carrot, but I don’t think snap peas belong in this dish. Too crunchy.
This recipe was fantastic! I added some extra veggies and it turned out yummy. Definitely trying this again!
Why do we fry shrimp? My grandma just boiled them. This seems off.
I dunno, but fried shrimp sounds kinda eh? Boiling is simpler and healthier right? Maybe stick with grandma’s way.
Frying gives the shrimp a crispy texture that boiling just can’t achieve! It’s a different style, but totally worth it. Try it! 😊
Yum! I added some peanuts for crunch and it was delicious!
This recipe was absolutely delicious! My family loved it!
Not bad, but think I’ll add some chili flakes next time. Needed a bit more kick!
Shrimp was too overcooked for my taste, and the sauce was a bit salty.
Followed everything but used frozen veggies. It turned out mushy 🙁
Mushy? I thought that was how stir-fry is supposed to be? 🤷♂️ Maybe just cook it less next time?
Frozen veggies can really change the texture! Try using fresh next time, it makes a big difference!
So quick and easy! Definitely a keeper for busy weeknights.
