Feta cheese foldovers are a simple yet irresistible pastry that combines flaky layers with a rich, tangy filling. These golden pockets are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as a light snack, offering a satisfying balance between crisp pastry and creamy cheese.
The star of this recipe is feta cheese, known for its salty, slightly tangy flavor and crumbly texture. When wrapped inside delicate pastry dough, feta softens just enough during baking to become creamy while still keeping its character. Many versions include a touch of cream cheese, yogurt, or egg in the filling, which adds smoothness and makes every bite even more comforting.
What makes feta cheese foldovers so appealing is their versatility. You can keep them classic with just feta and herbs, or enhance them with spinach, spring onions, or roasted red peppers for extra color and flavor. A sprinkle of sesame or black seeds on top adds a gentle crunch and a beautiful finish.
These foldovers are easy to prepare and look impressive when served. Simply cut the dough into squares, place the filling in the center, fold, and bake until golden. The kitchen quickly fills with a warm, buttery aroma that signals something delicious is on the way.
Feta cheese foldovers pair wonderfully with a fresh green salad, yogurt dip, or a cup of tea or coffee. They are ideal for gatherings, lunchboxes, or quick meals when you want something comforting without much effort. Served warm, they feel especially indulgent, with the pastry shattering slightly as you take the first bite.
Beyond their taste, these foldovers bring a sense of homemade charm to any table. They are the kind of recipe that becomes a favorite because it is reliable, adaptable, and always satisfying. Whether you serve them for guests or enjoy them quietly at home, feta cheese foldovers never disappoint.

Feta cheese?? I don’t like that stuff. Probably why this didn’t work out for me.
I found this recipe a bit tricky. The pastry wouldn’t roll out nicely. Maybe I did something wrong?
Don’t worry, pastry can be tricky! Make sure your surface is really floured and that the pastry is cold. It helps a lot! Hang in there! 😊
I substituted feta with cottage cheese and it came out great! Highly recommend!
Yum!! Will make again!!
Glad to hear you loved it! These are super tasty, right? I can’t wait to try them again myself!
Is it really that good? I tried once and it didn’t turn out like yours. Maybe I messed up the oven temp or something.
Can u use any kind of pastry? Puff is a bit heavy, don’t u think?
These are sooo good! I made them for my party and everyone loved them!
I’m so glad to hear that! They were a hit at my last gathering too! 🎉
Who says pastry has to be perfect? Just enjoy the flavor! 😀
Quick and easy! Perfect snack for my kids after school. Thanks for sharing!
I don’t think my kids will eat feta tho. Is there a substitute?
Glad you liked it! It’s super easy and the kids love it. 😊
I don’t know, they turned out kinda soggy for me. Followed the recipe exactly but didn’t have puff pastry. Used biscuit dough instead, lol. Wouldn’t recommend.
Fold what? Couldn’t find the puff pastry at my store. Just used leftover tortillas and dumped feta in. Not the same, but tasted good anyway.
These foldovers are amazing! So cheesy and flavorful. Everyone loved them at the party!
Recipe was simple, but what’s up with the egg wash? I skipped that and they turned out fine!
Quick and easy! Perfect snack for my kids. They ate them all up! Thank you!
Meh, just okay. I expected more flavor. Maybe I needed more dill? Idk.
Meh, I didn’t like it much either. Felt kinda bland to me. What’s with the dill, anyway? It didn’t do much!
I think your right, a bit more dill could really amp up the flavor! Maybe try adding some garlic too next time?
