Chai Spiced Golden Milk

September 9, 2025

Chai spiced golden milk is a soothing, aromatic drink that brings together the comforting warmth of chai spices with the earthy, healing qualities of turmeric. This golden-hued beverage has long been celebrated in Ayurvedic traditions for its anti-inflammatory benefits and calming effect, and when paired with the rich spice profile of chai, it becomes both nourishing and indulgent.

The magic begins with the base: a warm blend of milk (dairy or plant-based) infused with turmeric, which gives the drink its signature golden color. To that, a mix of chai spices -cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and black pepper, adds depth and complexity. The turmeric provides a grounding earthiness, while the chai blend contributes a cozy, fragrant warmth. The black pepper not only enhances flavor but also boosts turmeric’s absorption, making the drink as functional as it is delicious.

Sweetness is traditionally added with honey or maple syrup, though any natural sweetener works. This small touch of sweetness rounds out the spice notes and makes the drink feel indulgent without being heavy. For a luxurious twist, froth the milk before serving, or garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. The result is a cup that feels both comforting and revitalizing.

Chai spiced golden milk isn’t just about flavor, it’s about experience. It’s the kind of drink best enjoyed slowly, perhaps as part of a morning ritual to set a calm tone for the day, or as an evening wind-down in place of caffeine. It’s also a thoughtful alternative to traditional chai lattes, offering the same spicy warmth but with the added health benefits of turmeric.

Versatility is another reason this drink has become so beloved. It can be made richer with coconut milk for a creamy texture, spiced up with extra ginger or cayenne for a warming kick, or kept simple with just turmeric and cinnamon for a minimalist version. No matter the variation, chai spiced golden milk delivers a nourishing balance of flavor, comfort, and wellness in every sip.

Why do people like drinking warm milk with spices? Seems weird to me. I’ll stick to my coffee.

    1. 4 stars
I think warm milk with spices is really comforting! It’s nice before bed. But yeah, coffee has its own kick! 😄

  2. User avatar milagro.dietrich2 says:

    4 stars
Can we use just cinnamon? I don’t have all the other spices and not sure if it’s gonna work. Help!

  3. User avatar alden.emmerich98 says:

    5 stars
Easy and delicious! Reminded me of chai I had in India! Perfect before bed.

  4. User avatar Dwarven Shpere says:

    5 stars
Yum! Perfect for cold evenings! I used oat milk, and it was really creamy. Thanks for sharing!

This is too fancy for me. I just want a regular cup of hot chocolate, lol.

  6. User avatar carey.zieme says:

    5 stars
Absolutely loved this recipe! The spices blended so well together. Will definitely make again.

  7. User avatar harris.adams60 says:

My friend said it’s good for you, turmeric is magic or something. I don’t like ginger that much tho.

  8. User avatar Berry Barton says:

    3 stars
This was okay, but I think I added too much turmeric? It was a bit overpowering for my taste.

    1. 4 stars
I think turmeric can be really strong! Next time, try using less or even just a pinch. It’s all about finding what works for you!

    2. 2 stars
Too much turmeric? Nah, you can’t go wrong! Just embrace the flavor. Chai is meant to be bold!

  9. User avatar morris.hermann2023 says:

    2 stars
Not sure if this is healthy or just weird tbh. It tastes okay but not my fav.

  10. User avatar ShanksOnePiece says:

    2 stars
Not sure what all the hype is about. It just tastes like warm milk with some spices. Not for me.

    1. User avatar Jasmine Flowers says:

      4 stars
I get what you mean, it’s definitely an acquired taste. Have you tried adding more sweetener? It might help!

  11. User avatar Falmer Archer says:

    2 stars
I followed the recipe exactly and it came out kinda bitter? Maybe my turmeric was old or I used too much ginger powder instead of fresh. Still, it’s drinkable.

    1. 4 stars
That sounds frustrating! Golden milk can get bitter if the turmeric/ginger are too strong or old. I’ve also noticed boiling at all can make it taste harsher—5–7 min is key.

  12. 3 stars
I tried to grind the spices fresh but I didn’t have cardamom, so I used more cinnamon. It’s fine, just not “chai-ish” like I expected.

  13. User avatar Blue Dartwing says:

    3 stars
I didn’t have all the spices so I just used turmeric and milk. Still pretty good!

  14. User avatar elia.harris97 says:

    1 star
Too many spices! My kids didn’t like it at all. I think I wll stick to chocolate milk.

  15. User avatar heath.windler74 says:

    5 stars
Tasty! But I forgot the honey. Can I use sugar? I’ll experiment next time.

    1. User avatar lezlie.sanford2025 says:

      3 stars
Honey is better for the recipe! Sugar might change it too much. 🤷‍♂️

    2. User avatar leola.wilderman68 says:

      4 stars
Sure, sugar should work fine! Just adjust the amount to your taste.

  16. 5 stars
I used coconut milk instead of regular milk and it was amazing! A bit sweeter, but I loved it. ❤️

  17. User avatar ellen.keeling says:

    3 stars
Sounds interesting, but I don’t drink milk. Can I use water instead? 🤔

  18. User avatar casey.blick95 says:

    5 stars
Easy and tasty! I used almond milk and it turned out great! Definitely making this again.

    1. User avatar josef.abernathy3 says:

      5 stars
I love that you used almond milk! I’ve never tried it before, but now I’m curious.

    2. User avatar kylee.mueller87 says:

      2 stars
Is almond milk really that good? I thought it could ruin the whole taste?

  19. 5 stars
Yum! This is so cozy! Perfect for chilly evenings. 🥰

    1. User avatar bryan.bashirian34 says:

      2 stars
I dunno, sounds a bit weird mixing spices in milk? Isn’t that just for chai?

    2. User avatar tamisha.herzog47 says:

      5 stars
Absolutely! It’s like a warm hug in a cup! 🥰 Love this for my nights!

  20. 5 stars
This golden milk is simply divine! I feel so cozy after drinking it. Perfect for chilly evenings.

  21. 2 stars
One question: do you boil it at step 2 or just heat it? I boiled mine for like 15 minutes and it turned kinda flat, but maybe that’s on me. Flavor was okay, not amazing.

    1. User avatar rosario.kuhn says:

      3 stars
I’m not gonna lie, I usually boil mine 😅 like 10–15 mins, and it still worked for me. Maybe your spices were just a little weak? Also make sure you stir after adding honey—don’t boil after that.

    2. User avatar Mr. Prosser says:

      5 stars
Good question! Step 2 is “hot, but not boiling” (about 5–7 min). If it boils hard for 15 min, it can taste flatter/less creamy, so your instinct might be right.

  22. 1 star
Nah, I don’t like this. I’ll stick with my regular chai. It’s just too different for me.

    1. User avatar viviana.gaylord8 says:

      4 stars
That’s okay! Everyone has their preferences. Regular chai is classic for a reason!

  23. 2 stars
Not a fan of the flavor. It was too spicy for me, maybe cut back on the ginger?

  24. User avatar linwood.bergstrom93 says:

    2 stars
I used coconut milk and it’s way too sweet with maple syrup for me. If I make it again I’ll cut the sweetener and maybe add a tiny splash more milk.

  25. User avatar jeff.feeney57 says:

    2 stars
Meh. Too many spices for me. I’d rather just do turmeric + honey and call it a day.

  26. User avatar galen.hessel82 says:

    5 stars
Absolutely love this recipe! So creamy and comforting. Perfect for evening relax time.

  27. User avatar dona.zboncak99 says:

    3 stars
I don’t get why everyone puts turmeric in everything… but okay, I tried it. The honey helped a lot.

  28. User avatar maria.ferry73 says:

    4 stars
Nice recipe, but I used coconut milk and it was too thick! Next time, I’ll use almond milk. But the spices make it yum!

  29. User avatar Malvina McLaughlin says:

    4 stars
Very nice tea! Though not much like chai but I enjoyed the flavor.

    1. User avatar Hotblack Desiato's bodyguard says:

      4 stars
Glad you enjoyed it! It’s definitely a twist on traditional chai, but that makes it unique! ☕️

  30. User avatar antoinette.baumbach15 says:

    5 stars
Just made it, and wow! My new favorite night drink. Thank you for sharing this!

  31. 4 stars
Yummy! I added a banana to the mix and it tasted so good!! Smoodie 😋

    1. User avatar Falmer Warmonger says:

      5 stars
Sounds delicious! Can’t wait to try it with a banana next time! 🍌

  32. User avatar minh.botsford1989 says:

    3 stars
Golden milk? More like yellow milk 😂. But it did taste better than I thought!

    1. User avatar kellye.torphy says:

      5 stars
Haha, true! It’s got that yellow vibe but it’s so good! Perfect for warming up on a chilly day.

  33. User avatar jenelle.macejkovic says:

    2 stars
Why do you put pepper in it? Isn’t that weird? I think I will skip that step.

  34. User avatar lewis.koss51 says:

    2 stars
Really easy to make but I’m not a fan of turmeric. I guess it’s not for everybody.

  35. User avatar Colby Pagac says:

    4 stars
Pretty solid flavor combo. The turmeric + pepper thing is real, but I wasn’t sure about the amount—still turned out tasty.

  36. User avatar andres.king95 says:

    3 stars
I have a question. Can I use turmeric root instead of powder? Does it make a difference?

    1. User avatar matthew.lehner60 says:

      4 stars
Yes, you can use turmeric root! It gives a fresher taste, but it’s a bit more work to prepare.

  37. 3 stars
It was ok, but I think I added too much ginger. It overpowered everything else. Maybe I’ll try again with less.

  38. User avatar virginia.price37 says:

    4 stars
The instructions are pretty clear, but “pinch black pepper” is vague. I always end up adding too much and then it tastes… peppery. Still good though.

    1. User avatar tanika.thompson1974 says:

      5 stars
Totally get that—“pinch” is super subjective. I do like 1–2 grinds from a pepper mill instead of dumping it in, and it never turns peppery for me.

  39. 5 stars
This recipe is amazing! I’ve never tried golden milk before and I can’t believe how good it is!

  40. User avatar Draugr Thrall says:

    5 stars
Followed the recipe exactly and it tasted like chai but smoother. Next time I’ll add a tiny pinch more cardamom.

  41. User avatar Ma'randru-jo says:

    5 stars
Not gonna lie, I thought golden milk would taste like straight turmeric. It didn’t! The honey helps a lot. Would drink again.

  42. User avatar keneth.hickle says:

    4 stars
This sounds good, but do you really need the black pepper? I’m not sure if I’ll try it. Might skip that part.

    1. User avatar nelson.borer75 says:

      4 stars
I understand your concern! The black pepper is really just to help absorb turmeric, but if you don’t like it, you can definitely leave it out. Just adjust the taste to your liking! 😄

  43. User avatar eulah.tromp2019 says:

    5 stars
So good! Just made it for breakfast, can’t believe I waited so long to try this!

  44. 5 stars
Wow, this chai spiced golden milk is amazing! I loved the flavors, especially the ginger. Definitely a new favorite!

  45. 4 stars
Honestly, I was skeptical about turmeric in milk. But this chai spiced golden milk is surprisingly good! I never thought I’d like it.

  46. User avatar Duncan Idaho says:

    1 star
I can’t believe cooking milk for so long. Does this really taste good??

    1. 5 stars
Trust me, it’s delicious! The milk just helps everything blend together, and the spices are amazing!

  47. User avatar jamie.bartell92 says:

    2 stars
Not really my thing. I prefer hot chocolate. Too healthy maybe?

    1. User avatar brad.ullrich says:

      4 stars
Hot chocolate is great, but have you tried adding a little bit of chocolate to this chai? It can balance the flavors! Just a thought!

  48. User avatar Hasimir Fenring says:

    4 stars
Just made it for the first time. The flavors are nice, but I wish it was sweeter.

    1. User avatar james.gulgowski says:

      4 stars
You could always add more honey or syrup! That’s what I do to make it sweeter. 😊

    2. User avatar danilo.jenkins23 says:

      3 stars
I don’t think you should add more sweetener. The flavors are meant to be balanced. Just try experimenting with different spices next time.

  49. User avatar rickiestmorty says:

    3 stars
The vanilla extract threw me off at first, but after a few sips it actually works. Could’ve used a little more cinnamon though.

  50. 3 stars
Turmeric is good for you, but can it really taste good in milk? Seems like a health fad to me. But who knows!

  51. User avatar irish.gerhold29 says:

    1 star
How does this even work? I mean, the milk and turmeric?? Seems weird.

  52. 2 stars
I don’t get why people love golden milk. This recipe is just weird. Doesn’t taste like chai at all. Not for me.

    1. 5 stars
I totally disagree! Golden milk is so cozy and tastes like a hug in a mug. Maybe try it again with more spices? It can be great!

  53. User avatar Corrupted Shade says:

    5 stars
Yum! This is even better than Starbucks chai! Will keep making this, so good.

    1. User avatar Grandma Ulrira says:

      5 stars
Wow, that’s awesome! I’ve gotta try making this. Love chai!

  54. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

This golden milk is magical! I added a bit of nutmeg, and it was wonderful. Definitely will make again!

    1. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

      5 stars
I love that you added nutmeg! It’s a great touch. This drink really does feel magical, doesn’t it?

  55. 4 stars
Honestly, I was skeptical at first but this turned out great! Simple to make too.

    1. 5 stars
I’m glad to hear it turned out great! I was worried the turmeric would be too strong, but I guess not! Definitely trying this now!

  56. User avatar joey.bruen1981 says:

    4 stars
Didn’t have all the spices, just used turmeric and a bit of cinnamon. Still tasted pretty nice!

  57. User avatar Gene E. Yuss says:

    2 stars
Hmm, I don’t know about this. Turmeric and milk? Seems weird to me. Not gonna try!

    1. User avatar paris.dietrich69 says:

      5 stars
You should give it a try! Turmeric is really good for you. It’s like a warm hug in a cup!

    2. 2 stars
I dunno, sounds kinda gross. I like my chai without weird stuff like turmeric.

  58. 1 star
Um, isn’t chai supposed to have tea? This is just flavored milk… Disappointed.

  59. User avatar Genghis Khan says:

    4 stars
I used oat milk instead of regular milk and it turned out good! Just a bit sweet though.

  60. User avatar garrett.lindgren11 says:

    2 stars
Is turmeric really safe? I’ve heard mixed things about it. Not sure if I want to try this.

  61. User avatar Pasquale Abernathy says:

    4 stars
Okay but why the black pepper? I thought that was just for savory things, lol. I tried it anyway and… it actually makes sense.

  62. User avatar pedro.lehner23 says:

    5 stars
This recipe is absolutely delicious! I added some vanilla bean and it was perfect. 5 stars!

  63. User avatar shiela.kreiger says:

Not a fan… I don’t get why people like turmeric so much. It tastes a bit weird in my milk.

    1. User avatar lashell.hilpert97 says:

      4 stars
I think turmeric is great! It gives a unique flavor that pairs well with the spices. Maybe give it another try?

  64. User avatar connie.lynch2019 says:

I’m glad you loved it! It really is a hug in a mug! 😍

    2. 2 stars
Sounds good, but I doubt if it’s really all that. Turmeric? Really? 🤔

  65. User avatar Cathryn Mann V says:

    5 stars
Amazing!! Quick and easy. I used coconut milk and it was delish! Highly recommend!

    1. 2 stars
I dunno, I thought it was too much turmeric. But maybe I just don’t like it much. 🤷‍♂️

    2. User avatar Aretha Holly says:

      5 stars
I tried it with almond milk and it was sooo good! Thanks for the tip! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  66. User avatar amos.hermiston28 says:

    3 stars
I tried this recipe but it didn’t taste like the chai I know. More spices needed, I think.

    1. 2 stars
But it says just a pinch of cardamom! How can that be enough for real chai? I think the recipe is missing things.

    2. User avatar Eugenio Mann says:

      4 stars
I agree! I always thought chai needed more spices too. Maybe add some cloves or nutmeg next time?

  67. 4 stars
Do you even taste the turmeric? I couldn’t, and I used fresh! Maybe I did something wrong.

  68. User avatar augustine.boehm9 says:

    5 stars
Yummy! I added a bit extra honey and cinnamon, I like it sweeter. 😊

  69. User avatar brent.satterfield2000 says:

I dunno, it seems a bit too spicy for my taste. Maybe I added too much cinnamon?

  70. User avatar fatimah.murazik18 says:

    4 stars
Easy recipe but I didn’t have some ingredients. Used nutmeg instead of cardamom and it was still good.

    1. 4 stars
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Nutmeg is a creative swap, but I wonder how it changes the flavor. Might try it next time! 🙂

    2. User avatar mina.swift96 says:

      2 stars
But you gotta have the cardamom for real chai! Nutmeg ain’t the same. Just saying.

  71. User avatar Draugr Overlord says:

    3 stars
I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out kinda bitter??? I’m not sure if it was the pepper or maybe my cinnamon was old. Flavor was strong but still warming.

    1. User avatar magen.watsica says:

      4 stars
Bitter can happen with black pepper if you use a heavier pinch than intended. Maybe try going lighter next time (or omit it) and add the honey while it’s still warm but not on the heat. Also if your cinnamon is old, it can turn a bit off—fresh cinnamon helps a lot.

  72. User avatar bee.johns13 says:

    5 stars
Wow, this drink is life-changing! I added a bit of nutella and yummm!!!

  73. User avatar alan.hessel says:

    5 stars
5 stars for the frothy goodness! My kids love it too! 🥰

  74. User avatar augustine.white says:

    4 stars
The amount of honey confused me—“1 teaspoon to taste” is kinda vague lol. I ended up adding less.

    1. User avatar santiago.lockman52 says:

      5 stars
Totally get you—“to taste” is so vague. I usually start with 1/2 tsp and then creep up if it needs more sweetness.

  75. User avatar michael.willms54 says:

    4 stars
I used oat milk and it came out super creamy. 5–7 minutes felt perfect—didn’t boil or split on me.

  76. 2 stars
I’m skeptical about the turmeric absorption thing. Like does a pinch of pepper really matter that much? Either way, flavor’s decent.

    1. User avatar naida.ledner45 says:

      4 stars
Totally get the skepticism 😅 A pinch of pepper isn’t magic, but the piperine can help your body absorb turmeric’s curcumin a bit more. For flavor alone? Nah, it’s minor—but for wellness claims it’s usually mentioned for a reason.

    2. User avatar pamela.legros1960 says:

      3 stars
I dunno… I’ve made it w/ no pepper and it still taste good. like the honey and cinnamon do the heavy lifting. maybe if you take turmeric supplements then yeah but for a mug? seems overhyped.

  77. User avatar deborah.hettinger91 says:

    3 stars
easy to make but it’s kinda weird not my favorite tho

    1. 4 stars
Yeah, I get it. The flavors can be a bit strong for some. Maybe try it with less turmeric next time?

  78. User avatar danille.gorczany1961 says:

    4 stars
Golden milk makes my soul happy. I will drink it every morning!

  79. User avatar Restless Draugr says:

    4 stars
Made it tonight with almond milk and added a little extra ginger. It’s super warming, like chai but lighter. Would totally drink again.

  80. User avatar Ta'loh Naeg says:

    1 star
Golden milk? More like yellow mush. Just didn’t do it for me, sorry.

  81. User avatar Tahno O'ah says:

    5 stars
This sounds cozy as heck. I used oat milk and added a tiny bit more ginger—so good. Frothy top is a nice touch too.

    1. User avatar San Shenlong says:

      5 stars
Yesss cozy is the perfect word 😄 I love that frothy top—mine always looks kinda fancy when I whisk it hard enough.

    2. 4 stars
I tried this with oat milk and the ginger measurement was… kinda vague for me. Like I added more too and it was good but also a little spicy? Still worth it tho. Next time I’ll go lighter on the pepper too.

  82. User avatar phil.ritchie78 says:

    2 stars
Meh. It’s fine, but I’ve had better golden milks. Could be my turmeric is weak or my ginger wasn’t fresh enough.

I thought this had green tea in it? I guess I was wrong! Still tastes good tho.

Seems healthy and all, but turmeric in milk just feels weird to me. I think I’ll stick to regular tea.

  85. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

    5 stars
This is dangerously good. The turmeric + pepper combo is spot on, and the froth makes it feel like a café drink. I used oat milk and only a touch of honey—perfect cozy vibe.

  86. User avatar dirk.beahan99 says:

10/10 would drink every night. Cardamom optional my butt—add it. Milk frother makes it look fancy.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree—fancy look, comfy taste. I skipped the cardamom once and it still worked but yeah, cardamom really makes it “chai-ish”.

  87. User avatar The Allitnils says:

    3 stars
Didn’t have cardamom so I left it out. Still tasted like chai-ish vibes, but it felt like it was missing that “middle note.”

  88. User avatar charisse.graham50 says:

    5 stars
I used oat milk instead of almond, came out super creamy. Will do again!

  89. User avatar erwin.von33 says:

This sounds so cozy. I used oat milk and freshly grated ginger—smelled amazing while it warmed up. The pinch of pepper is a nice touch too.

    1. User avatar Prostetnic Vogon Kwaltz says:

      5 stars
Yes!! Ginger + oat milk is such a good combo. I’ve never tried freshly grated in this one though—sounds way more fragrant than the pre-ground stuff. Gonna do that next time 😊

    2. User avatar israel.nader27 says:

      3 stars
I like the idea, but “pinch of pepper for absorption” feels a lil myth-y to me 😅 I usually skip it and it still tastes great. The turmeric flavor can be strong—how much ginger do you use when it’s fresh?

  90. User avatar Margot Fenring says:

    4 stars
I’m not usually a golden milk person but the chai spices convinced me. I did 1/8 tsp cardamom and it tasted super “chai-ish” without being too sweet. Would make again.

    1. 5 stars
Wow that sounds exactly like the balance I want—chai vibe without the sugary part. Love the specific cardamom amount!

  91. 5 stars
This sounds cozy! I love golden milk, and the black pepper + turmeric tip makes sense. Going to try it with oat milk.

    1. 5 stars
This sounds right up my alley—cozy and not too complicated. I’ve always done turmeric with a pinch of pepper, so I’m excited to try the whole chai-spiced version. Oat milk might be perfect!

    2. User avatar Android 16 says:

      3 stars
I’m skeptical about the honey/maple + vanilla combo… feels like it could turn out kinda sweet and perfume-y. Anyone tried it with just cinnamon and ginger? Also do you boil it or keep it really low?

  92. User avatar Wellington Yueh says:

    5 stars
Made it with oat milk and used fresh ginger—so fragrant. I wouldn’t skip the black pepper either; it really rounds out the flavor.

  93. 4 stars
Followed it pretty much, except I forgot the black pepper (oops). It was still good but not as “complete” if that makes sense.

  94. User avatar Mr. Ardelia Mraz says:

    2 stars
I tried this and it curdled on me for some reason. Maybe my heat was too high? Tasted fine once it was strained though.

  95. User avatar Vroomfondel says:

    5 stars
I was skeptical about “golden milk” but wow. Smells like chai without being too sweet. I’ll make this again.

  96. User avatar liza.marvin3 says:

    4 stars
Love golden milk! I was a little skeptical about 5–7 minutes, but the spices really mellowed nicely. Next time I’ll add a tiny pinch of cloves too.

  97. User avatar ian.kulas2004 says:

    2 stars
Honestly? It’s just warm milk with spices. Not bad, but kinda meh compared to my normal chai.

    1. User avatar leslie.hyatt says:

      4 stars
I get the “meh” vibe if you’re expecting real chai with tea + ginger + simmering. This is more like cozy spiced milk, but it still tastes great when the spices are fresh.

  98. User avatar ShanksOnePiece says:

    2 stars
Not bad, but 5–7 minutes felt a little long for my stove. Also I think I burned the bottom slightly—taste was okay.

  99. User avatar terminatorXYZ says:

    3 stars
I used coconut milk and it separated a little, maybe I overheated it. Still tasted great, just not as smooth as I expected.

    1. User avatar lewis.romaguera69 says:

      5 stars
Good call on coconut milk—yeah, it can split if it gets too hot. Next time try lower heat and keep it just “steaming,” and whisk right after taking it off the burner. Glad the flavor still worked!

  100. User avatar huey.rolfson21 says:

    3 stars
Mine came out kinda yellow and strong… maybe I put too much turmeric? Also the pepper is noticeable. Still drinkable tho lol.

  101. User avatar ike.wisoky says:

    4 stars
Pretty good. I’m not sure about the black pepper “absorption” thing but it tastes fine and the turmeric doesn’t overpower.

  102. User avatar creola.kozey1959 says:

    5 stars
Loved this recipe! The spice blend is perfect and the honey adds just the right sweetness. Will make again!

  103. User avatar moises.gleichner says:

Golden milk is my new bedtime drink. I added a dash of nutmeg too and it made it fancy.

    1. User avatar darlene.glover1961 says:

      5 stars
That sounds so cozy! Nutmeg with turmeric/cinnamon is a great combo—definitely makes it feel “fancy” 😄

  104. 5 stars
So much flavor! I never thought I’d enjoy turmeric this much. Will be making again!

  105. 5 stars
This chai spiced golden milk is absolutely delicious! The combination of spices is perfect.

    1. User avatar elliott.schiller says:

      5 stars
I tried this recipe and it was really good! The spices are on point. Definitely making it again!

  106. User avatar Frankie and Benjy says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but I think 1/2 tsp turmeric is a bit much for my taste. It came out slightly earthy for me. Next time I’ll start with less.

    1. User avatar allena.berge34 says:

      3 stars
I think 1/2 tsp is fine?? Unless your turmeric is super strong or old. Also mine never gets earthy if I let it simmer a bit longer. Maybe add more honey/vanilla to balance.

    2. User avatar wellRespected says:

      5 stars
Totally get that—turmeric can be earthy fast. I usually start at 1/4 tsp and build up if I want more “golden” flavor. Thanks for sharing what worked for you!

  107. User avatar tomoko.ohara says:

    4 stars
I didn’t have cardamom so I left it out—still tasty, but I feel like it was missing that chai vibe. Next time I’ll try adding it.

  108. User avatar jaymie.koepp46 says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about golden milk, but the cardamom made it taste way more “chai-ish” than I expected. Will repeat.

  109. User avatar tissues_with_issues says:

    4 stars
Pretty good, but mine turned a bit too earthy because I used extra turmeric. Next time I’ll stick to the measurement and probably add a touch more vanilla.

  110. User avatar hai.kris84 says:

    4 stars
This is my new go-to drink! The warm spices really make my morning brighter. Thank you for sharing!

  111. User avatar nickolas.pfeffer1998 says:

    2 stars
I might be doing something wrong, but mine turned slightly bitter? Still drank it though 😅

  112. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    4 stars
Pretty good, but mine tasted a bit flat until I added more cinnamon. Also I forgot the pepper at first—oops—still fine though.

  113. User avatar perry.reinger1954 says:

    4 stars
1 pinch pepper? That seems tiny lol. But okay, I added it and now I feel like a science experiment was successful.

    1. 5 stars
Right? “1 pinch” sounds like barely anything, but that pepper really does add a little kick. Your science experiment vibe made me laugh—glad it worked!

  114. 4 stars
I used oat milk and added a little extra ginger. Worked really well, but I had to heat slightly longer than 5-7 min to get it nicely hot.

  115. User avatar steve_maga says:

    5 stars
Loved it! I was skeptical about the turmeric/cinnamon combo, but it’s actually really smooth. Froths nicely with my milk frother.

    1. User avatar cathleen.toy95 says:

      3 stars
I tried it, but i think i used too much turmeric? Mine tasted kinda earthy. Still nice tho—next time I’ll go lighter on it and maybe less honey.

    2. 5 stars
Same here—I was like “turmeric + cinnamon??” but wow, it’s actually super smooth. The milk frother makes it feel fancy.

  116. User avatar eddy.breitenberg87 says:

    5 stars
This is cozy as heck. The black pepper + turmeric combo is legit and I loved the frothy top.

  117. User avatar Deep Thought says:

    1 star
Too many spices for me… but the color is pretty though.

  118. User avatar JinJenz says:

    4 stars
I was skeptical about golden milk but… wow. 5-7 minutes was perfect. Mildly sweet and spicy, not overpowering.

    1. 5 stars
Same here! I figured it’d be too earthy, but that 5-7 minutes really does the trick. The black pepper + turmeric combo is sneaky good.

  119. User avatar floyd.hettinger96 says:

    3 stars
I have doubts about the “absorption” thing. Like… is pepper really doing all that? Still, it tastes good, so I’ll stop overthinking it. My stomach seemed fine after.

  120. User avatar gregoria.koelpin says:

    5 stars
This is such a cozy drink. The combo of turmeric + ginger tastes way better than I expected, and the frothy top is a bonus.

  121. User avatar gayle.buckridge2002 says:

    5 stars
This is such a cozy drink—warm, earthy, and the vanilla makes it feel kinda fancy. I used oat milk and it froths nicely.

  122. User avatar logan.douglas1997 says:

    4 stars
The instructions are clear, and 5-7 minutes is perfect. I make this when I feel like I’m coming down with something (even if science is up in the air).

  123. 3 stars
Mine didn’t get very frothy even with a whisk (might be my whisk, lol). Also I think I accidentally used too much ginger—still tasty though, just spicy-spicy. Next time I’ll measure more carefully.

  124. User avatar grover.cormier20 says:

    5 stars
Honestly, this tastes like a chai latte but smoother. The cardamom optional note is spot on—I added it and it felt more “authentic.”

  125. User avatar bob.bayer25 says:

    3 stars
Couldn’t get it frothy with my whisk, lol. The flavor was there though—warm, spicy, and not too sweet with maple syrup.

  126. User avatar Georgina Schuster says:

    4 stars
Mine didn’t get “frothy” at all—maybe I whisked too gently. Still tasted good though. Next time I’ll heat a little longer and whisk harder.

  127. User avatar basementDweller says:

    5 stars
This tastes like a cozy chai latte but without the caffeine vibes. The turmeric + pepper combo is legit—mine was super flavorful after the 7 minutes.

  128. User avatar hye.aufderhar2000 says:

    3 stars
Not sure about the black pepper—feels like an odd addition. It’s not bad, just unexpected. Otherwise the flavor profile is comforting.

    1. User avatar joe_banana says:

      5 stars
Totally get what you mean—black pepper does sound random at first. But that little pinch really does make the turmeric taste more “alive” to me. Comforting is the perfect word for it!

    2. User avatar gino.mcdermott74 says:

      4 stars
I tried it once and thought the pepper would be too noticeable… but I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t really taste it. Maybe I used too little 😅 Either way, the turmeric honey combo slaps.

  129. User avatar madelaine.towne35 says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but I’m not sure I taste the ginger much. Maybe I should use fresh more consistently.

  130. User avatar mathWizard says:

    3 stars
The instructions are easy, but 5–7 minutes felt like too long for my stove. I almost boiled it and it got a little weird.

    1. User avatar Arthur Philip Deodat says:

      5 stars
Totally get it—5–7 minutes is vague and stoves vary. I usually aim for “steaming and hot” only, like closer to 3–5 minutes, and I definitely pull it before it starts to bubble. If it almost boiled, that could make the texture weird (more thick/eggy/film-y).
