Almond milk, coconut milk, or any preferred choice

turmeric powder
freshly ground for better flavor

ground cinnamon

ground cardamom
optional, for traditional chai flavor

enhances absorption of turmeric

Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and black pepper.
Heat over medium heat until hot, but not boiling, about 5-7 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
Use a whisk or milk frother to mix well until frothy.
Serve warm in a mug, optionally garnish with a cinnamon stick or a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.
