Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg large, beaten

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the vanilla extract and beaten egg to the butter mixture, and mix until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the sifted flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each cookie.
  • Gently flatten each ball with the back of a spoon or your palm.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
