I made this without honey since I’m not a fan and it was still good!

Can you use almond milk instead of regular milk? I’m vegan.

Ingredients look cheap. You could just drink hot milk and get the same thing.

    1. User avatar minna.steuber1971 says:

      5 stars
But hot milk is not the same. Hoji Cha has its own taste. Why not try it before judging? It’s really good!

I see what you mean, but this sounds different from just hot milk! The tea really adds an extra layer! Plus, honey is great for flavor.

Is the tea leaf really necessary? I mean, can’t I just use a tea bag instead? Feels like a lot of work.

    1. 5 stars
I tried it with a tea bag once, and it didn’t taste right! The leaves make it special. Totally worth the extra trouble!

    2. User avatar MAGA2024.Trumpster says:

      3 stars
Using a tea bag is way easier! But it’s not the same as the real tea leaves, ya know? They give a unique flavor. Just my opinion!

  14. 3 stars
I made it but forgot the honey. It was still okayish. Next time I’ll do better!

  26. User avatar Buster Walter says:

My milk curdled while heating. Anyone know why that happened?

    1. User avatar bennie.jerde56 says:

      3 stars
That’s weird! I never had that happen. Maybe the milk was old or something? 😕

    2. User avatar derick.mcglynn says:

      4 stars
Curdling can happen if the milk is heated too quickly or to too high a temperature. Try heating it more slowly next time!
