Apricot and Cardamom Iced Tea

August 9, 2023

When you’re looking for a drink that’s both refreshing and full of unique flavor, the Apricot and Cardamom Iced Tea delivers. This tea offers the sweetness of ripe apricots paired with the aromatic warmth of cardamom, creating a drink that’s light, flavorful, and wonderfully fragrant. It’s the kind of iced tea that stands out from the usual options, making it perfect for summer picnics, afternoon relaxation, or when you want to treat yourself to something a little special.

To start, the apricot provides a natural sweetness that balances the earthiness of the black or green tea base. When steeped, the apricots release their juices, infusing the tea with a rich, fruity flavor. The cardamom, a spice often used in Middle Eastern and Indian cuisines, adds a slightly peppery, citrusy note that complements the sweetness of the apricots without overpowering them. The result is a beautifully balanced iced tea that’s both refreshing and comforting.

Making this tea is simple. Steep your choice of black or green tea (depending on your preference) and add fresh apricot slices while the tea is still hot, allowing them to infuse their flavor. A pinch of ground cardamom is all you need to bring that signature spice to the mix. Once cooled, the tea can be served over ice, and if you like, sweeten it with a little honey or agave syrup.

For extra depth of flavor, you can add a splash of fresh lemon juice or garnish with a few sprigs of mint, enhancing the refreshing qualities of the drink.

The Apricot and Cardamom Iced Tea is perfect for those who crave something more than just traditional iced tea. It’s elegant yet simple, offering a combination of flavors that feels both exotic and comforting. Whether you’re hosting a brunch or just enjoying a quiet afternoon, this iced tea provides the perfect balance of sweetness and spice.

I can’t read the instructions well. What do you mean by strain? I just poured it. 😬

    1. 4 stars
Straining just means to pour the mixture through a fine mesh to get rid of the bits. Don’t worry too much, it happens! 😅

I don’t know about this. Cardamom taste kinda strange to me. Maybe I used too much?
