Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey Lean preferred
- 1 cup bread crumbs Whole wheat or gluten-free as needed
- 1 large egg Lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup milk Low-fat or full cream
- 1/4 cup ketchup Plus more for topping
- 1 medium onion Finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic Minced
- 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, bread crumbs, egg, milk, ketchup, onion, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape into a loaf. Spread an additional layer of ketchup over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the loaf is cooked through.
- Let the meatloaf rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve hot.
