Grilled Greek lobster tails are an elegant and flavorful seafood dish that brings a Mediterranean twist to your table. Fresh lobster tails are butterflied and marinated with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, and a touch of sea salt, creating a zesty, aromatic flavor profile that pairs beautifully with the natural sweetness of lobster. Grilling enhances the flavor even further, adding a smoky char that perfectly complements the bright, herbaceous marinade.
The preparation is simple yet impressive. The lobster tails are split down the center to expose the meat, allowing the marinade to soak in and infuse every bite. The combination of lemon and garlic provides brightness, while oregano and fresh herbs give it that unmistakable Greek flair. A drizzle of olive oil helps keep the meat tender and juicy as it cooks.
Grilled over medium heat, the lobster tails develop a slightly crisp, golden exterior while remaining buttery and tender inside. The key is not to overcook them, lobster cooks quickly, usually in about 5 to 7 minutes, turning opaque and firm when done.
Serve your grilled Greek lobster tails with a squeeze of fresh lemon and a sprinkle of chopped parsley or dill. They pair beautifully with sides like a classic Greek salad, roasted potatoes with herbs, or grilled vegetables. For a touch of indulgence, a side of tzatziki sauce or a lemon-garlic butter for dipping takes it to the next level.
As for drinks, pair this dish with a crisp white wine like Sauvignon Blanc, Assyrtiko, or a light rosé. Even a chilled sparkling water with a squeeze of lemon complements the fresh, vibrant flavors perfectly.
Grilled Greek lobster tails are perfect for a summer gathering, a special dinner, or anytime you want to impress with minimal effort but maximum flavor. It’s a dish that feels luxurious but stays light, fresh, and simple, just like the best of Mediterranean cuisine.

Ingredients
- 4 lobster tails thawed if frozen
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- parsley chopped (for garnish), fresh
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Using kitchen shears, cut along the top of the lobster shell to expose the meat. Gently pull the shell apart, leaving the meat attached at the tail end. Remove the vein running through the meat, if desired.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper.
- Brush the marinade over the lobster tails, making sure to coat the meat well.
- Place the lobster tails on the grill, meat side down, and cook for 6-8 minutes. Flip the lobster tails and cook for an additional 6-8 minutes, or until the meat is opaque and cooked through.
- Remove the lobster tails from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges, if desired.

I’m skeptical about the whole grilling thing. Isn’t boiling better for lobster?
Boiling makes it more tender, right? I dunno… would love to try grilling tho.
I think grilling brings out a unique flavor that boiling just can’t match. Give it a shot!
Anyone know what else can I use instead of olive oil? I’ve got sunflower oil.
Sunflower oil should work just fine! It’s more mild, so it won’t overpower the flavors. Just use a bit less than the olive oil, maybe?
This looks amazing! Can’t wait to try it out this weekend!
Thanks! I’m so excited to try it too! Do you think I could use shrimp instead?
The ingredient list is pure perfection! Oregano and garlic?! Yes please!
I dunno… garlic and oregano on lobster? Seems a bit off to me. Lobster deserves better.
Totally agree! Oregano and garlic just bring everything to life. Can’t wait to try this recipe!
Looks good, but what’s the deal with the ‘vein’ thing? Do I gotta do that?
Not a fan of lobster! I dunno why people like it. 😬
I tried this recipe and it was pretty bland. Add more spices next time!
Just okay, didn’t blow my mind. Lobster ain’t really my thing. 3 stars for effort.
Yummy! Always wanted to make lobster at home instead of just at restaurants!
Gonna make this for my mom’s birthday! Hope it’s as good as it sounds!
That sounds amazing! Your mom will love it! Just be careful not to overcook the lobster, it can get tough! 🦞
Grilled lobster? My husband would love this! Thanks for sharing! <3
Yum! so good and fancy like!! 🦞❤️
I’m not a fan of seafood, but my boyfriend loved it. He said it was the best lobster he’s ever had.
Hmm, my lobsters were still kinda raw on the inside. Maybe I need a hotter grill? Or I’m just not good at it.
You might need to raise the grill temp a bit! Make sure the lobster is cooked to opaque. Don’t worry, it takes practice. Keep trying!
Lol maybe you just cook it too short time! Lobsters gotta be fully cooked or they’ll be gross! Just follow the time they say. 😅
Lobster? What is this, a fancy restaurant? I just smashed my BBQ and tried this. Was alright, but not worth the effort.
I dont kno about all this fancy food. I just want my crab legs, this was complicated. 😂
This was fantastic! The flavors were so bright and fresh. Definitely my new go-to for summer cookouts!
Is it really that easy? I was skeptical at first but gave it a shot and it turned out great!
I’m so glad you tried it! It really is that easy once you get the hang of it. The marinade is the key!
I followed the recipe but my lobster was kinda chewy. I might’ve overcooked it. Numbers in cooking are hard sometimes.
Love it, love it, love it! I never cooked lobster before and this recipe was easy to follow. Thanks!
It was okay, but I feel like it needed more seasoning. I didn’t taste the garlic much. Maybe I did something wrong?
Grilled lobster? Who even does that? I tried it but I prefer my lobster boiled. Just saying.
Lobsters?? Disgusting! Who even eats this? Better stick to chicken.
Tried this for my anniversary dinner and it was a hit! Lobsters were so juicy and flavorful.
4 lobster tails?? Sounds like a lot of work. Is that even legal to make this at home? LOL
My family loved this! I used extra garlic and it turned out delicious. Will definitely make again!
I’m so glad to hear that! Extra garlic sounds like a great touch. Can’t wait to try it myself!
Really? Extra garlic? I thought it might be too much. Guess I’ll have to try it your way!
Sorry, but I don’t think this is how you should cook lobster. Boiling is the way to go, my auntie taught me that.
Absolutely delicious! The lemon juice really makes it pop. Will definitely make this again!
I don’t get what all the fuss is about. It tastes just like any grilled shrimp to me. 😒
Went a bit heavy on the garlic, but still tasty overall. Just my personal preference!
Garlic is life! I think if you love garlic, go big or go home! It adds so much flavor! 🌟
I don’t know about that, too much garlic can ruin a dish. Maybe try less next time? 🤔
This was AMAZING! I never thought I could grill lobster at home. The flavors are out of this world!
I dunno… Lobster seems too fancy to me. Bet it’s hard to get it right on the grill. Did you really make it that good?
I’m so glad to hear that! Grilling lobster is really a game changer, right? What did you serve it with?
Super yummy! I never knew grilling them like this would taste so good! Will make again for sure!
I’m glad you liked it! Grilling really does make a huge difference. 😋
I was skeptical at first because I never grilled lobster before, but this turned out great! Just follow the steps.
Looks good, but I’m not sure about grilling lobster. Isn’t it better boiled? 🤔
I tried this recipe too! It was my first time grilling lobsters and it was so easy! The marinade is amazing.
This recipe is fantastic! The flavors were out of this world. Definitely a 5-star meal!
