Corn on the cob is the ultimate summer side dish – simple, nostalgic, and bursting with sweet, buttery flavor. Whether itās grilled, boiled, or roasted, fresh corn is a seasonal favorite that brings a sense of joy to any picnic, barbecue, or casual dinner. Its golden kernels, juicy snap, and satisfying crunch make it a beloved classic that never goes out of style.
What makes corn on the cob so special is its versatility and ease. It requires very little preparation but delivers maximum flavor. At its most basic, a freshly shucked ear of corn, boiled until tender and brushed with butter and a pinch of salt, is enough to make anyone smile. But corn is also a blank canvas for creativity. You can char it on the grill for smoky depth, slather it in flavored butters or spices, or even roll it in cheese and herbs for a more decadent experience.
One of the best ways to enjoy corn on the cob is straight off the grill. Grilling adds a slight smokiness and caramelizes the natural sugars in the corn, enhancing its flavor. Itās also the perfect way to serve it during outdoor gatherings. Guests can customize their own corn with toppings like chili powder, lime, Parmesan, fresh herbs, or even mayonnaise for a street corn-style twist.
Beyond flavor, corn on the cob is a celebration of summer itself. Itās often one of the first things people think of when planning a cookout or holiday meal. Eating it can be a little messy, but thatās part of the fun. Thereās something undeniably satisfying about biting into a fresh, juicy cob and letting the sweet kernels burst with flavor.
Whether served simply with butter or dressed up with bold toppings, corn on the cob remains a beloved summertime favorite – nostalgic, delicious, and always a crowd-pleaser.

Corn took too long to cook!! Next time Iāll just microwave or something. š
Not bad, but mine took closer to 12 minutes to get tender. Also, butter made it a little too rich for my taste.
I think butter is what makes it good š but maybe try less. Also āboil 7-10ā is kinda vagueāmy corn always needs longer. Salt too early might mess it up? Not sure, but I just season at the end.
Yeah, 12 minutes sounds right depending on the corn. Fresh vs older ears changes everything. I usually check with a fork tooāif itās not tender, I keep going.
Corn good. Easy cook. Like butter, but no take. š¤·āāļø
This corn recipe is a classic! Very easy and the butter makes it so tasty. Love it!
My corn was meh⦠maybe I used old corn? The kernels werenāt as sweet as I hoped, even with butter.
My kids loved it! But I think we let it boil too long and it got mushy. Next time I will set a timer.
This recipe is so simple, I love it! Perfect for summer BBQs!
Corn on the cob, who even eats that? Not a fan, sorry.
So simple, but it actually tastes like summer. 8 minutes was perfect for my corn.
YUM!
Is corn really that good or is it just a hype? I find it kinda bland.
Gonna try with chili powder instead of salt, hope itās good!
meh. butter is butter. I like mine roasted or with lime. This is okay, but not wow.
Yeah, I get what you meanāthis is solid but not āwow.ā Roasting definitely makes it taste sweeter to me. Lime butter is where itās at.
We tried it and it was just corn š like not bad tho. I did add lime and more butter and it was way better. Maybe add garlic too?
Too much salt if u not careful. Use less!!!
Totally agree! I always start with less salt and then add more if needed. Better safe than sorry!
Can’t go wrong with corn on the cob! I added some parmesan cheese on top, yum!
I dunno, corn with cheese sounds weird to me. Just butter and salt is best.
Parmesan cheese? That’s a game changer! I’m definitely trying that next time.
Could use a little direction on seasoningālike do we add salt to the water or only after? I just did after and it was okay but kinda bland.
Really? Just boiling corn? Seems kinda basic to me. I thought there would be more to it.
Make sure to use fresh corn. The frozen stuff just won’t taste the same! š©
Is it really necessary to add butter? Corn’s sweet on its own! But, I tried it and it was okay.
5 stars for how simple this is! Thanks!
This is the best corn recipe! So simple and delicious. Will make it again for sure!
7-10 minutes feels like a wide range. Mine was mushy after 10, but I guess thatās on me. Still better than microwave corn.
Mushy after 10 minutes means your corn was like… already way ripe or the water was boiling too hard lol. I do 6-7 and pull it when itās ātenderā not āsoggy.ā Microwave corn is sad, so youāre not wrong.
Yeah, 7ā10 is definitely a rangeāthickness and how fresh the corn is make a big difference. If yours got mushy after 10, Iād try closer to 7ā8 next time. Still, totally agree about it being way better than microwave corn š
Ok but 7-10 min seems random. Like do you mean medium boil or a hard rolling one? Iām guessing mine was softer.
Yeah it does sound random, but itās really āuntil tender.ā If your waterās at a true rolling boil, 7ā10 min is usually rightāhard to say exactly because cob size varies. Soft kernels = you were probably done early, which is fine.
I tried it and mine was more like 5 minutes⦠10 made it kinda mushy. Also my water wasnāt really boiling-boiling, just kinda simmering, so I think thatās why. Next time Iāll start checking at 6 mins.
Followed the steps, but my corn was kinda chewy. What did I do wrong?
Not bad. But honestly, I think salt should go in the water, not just at the end. Mine tasted a bit bland at first.
I don’t get why you boil it. Grilling is so much better. 3/5.
My pot was too small so I had to cut the cob in half. Worked fine, but cook time might changeājust check with a fork.
I’ve been eating corn since I was a lil kid. Always have some during summer. Yummy!
So simple yet so delicious!!! Must try!
I think it needed more butter… or maybe just too much corn??
Corn should not be cooked in water. Tried it once, it was soggy. Never again!
Could you add instructions for how to know when itās done without poking it with a fork? My family overcooks everything.
Melted butter? I just use margarine. Is that bad?
I didnāt have fresh corn, so I used frozen kernels andāyeah, it was different. Still good though with butter and pepper.
I think frozen is kinda cheating š The recipe says cook the whole cob 7-10 minākernels will get mushy faster, right? But glad you liked it.
Frozen kernels still work really wellācorn is corn! I usually do the same when I canāt get fresh. Love it with butter + pepper.
So simple, yet it actually tastes like summer. 8 minutes was perfect for my cob!
5/5 easy.
Totallyācorn on the cob is one of those no-stress sides. Boil, butter, salt/pepper and youāre done š
Just corn and butter? Blah, needs something more, like a spice mix!
Corn is great! š½
Not really a fan of corn. Too mushy and sweet for me.
I totally agree! Corn is like the best veggie ever! š½ā¤ļø
Tasted good, but I felt like it needed more seasoningāsalt was a little shy. Maybe I used less butter than the recipe?
You forgot to mention adding garlic! Makes it even better trust me.
This is just plain corn… Where’s the spice? š
I followed it exactly and the kernels were super tender. Next time I might add a squeeze of lime though. Still great!
This is the easiest corn recipe ever! Loved it, will make again.
Only took 7 minutes??? I used to boil for 15. I guess I was wrongš.
I used to boil mine for 20 min! Gonna try the 7 mins now, thanks! š„³
Soo easy but not sure about the butter, it’s a bit too greasy for my taste.
Five stars for being straightforward. The directions are clear and the cook time range makes sense. Will repeat.
I tried it once and it was decent, but 7-10 min felt long? maybe my corn was bigger. Still tastes good with butter and pepper though.
Niceā5 stars from me too. Super straightforward and the 7ā10 minutes guidance is spot on. Iāll be making this again!
So simple, yet it turned out sweet and juicy. 8 minutes was perfect for my cob.
Corn is so sweet when cooked fresh. I can eat this all summer long!
Not my favorite, I prefer it with cheese instead of butter. Kind of bland, honestly.
I totally get you! Cheese makes everything better. Have you tried adding parmesan on top? It’s a game changer!
Yummm! But I used margarine instead of butter. Still good!
Boiling corn? Is that the only way? What if i grill?
Not gonna lie, boiling corn is too easy lol. Still⦠itās better than the sad corn at parties. 10/10 for effort-to-taste ratio.
Is corn really that healthy? Seems like a side dish, not a meal. š¤·āāļø
This was a disaster! I overcooked my corn and it was mushy. Sigh.
Delicious! Made this last night and it was gone in minutes! š
So glad you loved it! It really is a simple and tasty dish! š½ā¤ļø
I made it for a BBQ and everybody loved it. Really fresh corn!
Super simple and honestly perfect. Boiling 8 minutes was the sweet spotātender but still juicy. The butter + salt/pepper combo makes it taste like summer.
Totally agreeā8 minutes nailed it. The butter + salt/pepper combo really does taste like summer. š½
I always forget how fast corn cooks. Mine was maybe a little over at 10 minutes, but still sweet and good. Would definitely do 7 minutes next time.
This is basically the easiest thing ever. Four ingredients? I love it. My kids ate it like popcorn.
Yum!! Corn on the cob is the best! š½ļøāļø
I like how straightforward it is. I steamed mine instead of boiling, but timing felt similarāgreat flavor either way.
I forgot to cool it a few minutes and burned my tongue like an idiot š Tasted good after though. Next time Iāll wait.
Haha been there š Burning the tongue is basically part of the corn experience. Next time just let it rest a couple more minutes and youāll be golden!
I followed it but it tasted kinda bland, even with salt and pepper. Next time Iāll try garlic butter or a little smoked paprika.
Delicious! I made this for my kids and they loved it! So easy to make.
Delicious! But I skipped the butter and used olive oil instead. Still great!
I followed it exactly but I think my pot was too smallāwater boiled over and I got stressed lol. Flavor was still solid.
Yum! But too much salt can ruin it!
This recipe is great! The corn came out perfectly tender. I added some garlic powder too.
Mine didnāt taste as sweet as I expected. I think I bought older corn? Still good thoughāmaybe more salt next time.
I tried this recipe, but my corn was too mushy. I think I boiled it too long…
Boiling for too long can definitely mess up the texture! Maybe try timing it better next time?
My kids ate it so fast I barely got a bite. The butter brush step is clutch!
Tried it and it came out great, but I think 10 minutes was a bit much for my corn. Next time Iāll pull it closer to 7. Still a keeper though.
Hmm 7-10 is kinda wide š I think if you overcook it the kernels get kinda⦠chewy? Next time Iām gonna start timing at 7. Thanks!
Good call! Corn really does varyāmy ears are sometimes ready closer to 7 minutes too. āEasily piercedā is the real key anyway.
7 minutes was spot on! Super juicy. The butter step is keyāmine actually looked glossy like the pictures.
Honestly, doesn’t boiling corn just make it mushy? I prefer grilling it for that smoky flavor.
This should be 1 minute boil! Itās corn, not a roast.
I think you’re right! Corn doesnāt need that long. I usually do about 3 mins max.
Yeah, but if you wanna make sure it’s really good, you gotta cook it longer. Just saying.
I added some chili powder and lime juice, it came out okay, but not like my momās. š¤·āāļø
Corn?? My dad says it makes mice in your tummy! Lol!
Yum! Corn on the cob, my summer fave! š½ Can’t mess this up!
I dunno, but boiled corn seems kinda plain. Too simple, right?
Absolutely! Corn on the cob is the best, especially with butter! š
I donāt get why people boil itāgrilling is way better. This was fine, just kinda bland unless you go heavy on salt.
Make sure you put salt on it before eating!!! Sooooooo good.
Absolutely! Salt makes it so much better! But donāt forget the butter! Yum!
Yeah, but isnāt corn sweet already? Do we really need salt?
Corn on the cob needs cheese, not butter! Respect the flavor!
Cheese is good too, but butter is classic! Can’t go wrong with either. š
Super easy and the corn came out nice and tender. I did 9 minutes and it was perfect with butter + pepper.
Nice! I usually do closer to 8ā9 tooāguess weāre in the same sweet spot. Butter + pepper is the way to go.
Not gonna lie, I overthought it at first. Turning the kernels tender is key. Mine came out great after I used a timer.
Isn’t boiling corn kinda bland? I prefer grilling it for that smoky flavor.
Yum!! My kids devoured it. Thanks for sharing!
Why is it always āto tasteā salt and pepper? Like⦠ok, but give me an actual amount š . I eyeballed it and it was fine, just not my best guess.
Five stars but also⦠how much salt is āto tasteā? I added way too much pepper and my whole kitchen smelled like black pepper. Still ate it all.
Eh… Corn is corn. I expected more from this recipe.
I think it’s all about the seasonings and how you cook it! Butter and spices can elevate even simple corn.
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about just boiling. But it worked. I like how fast it isāgreat side dish for weeknights.
I tried it and it was okay, but I think 7-10 min is too long? Mine got a little too soft. Maybe my corn was older though. Still beats grilling.
Same! I thought boiling would make it taste kinda bland, but 8 minutes hit the sweet spot. Weeknights forever š
This is the simplest and best way to make corn on the cob! My family loves it.
This is the most basic thing ever. Corn is corn. Still, I guess basic is good? Not mad, just underwhelmed.
Mine was still a bit firm at 7 minutes, so I left it 10 and it improved a lot. Timing matters!
Totally agreeāmine took closer to 9-10 minutes too. āEasily pierced with a forkā is the real clue, not just the clock. Thanks for sharing!
Hmm I think 7 minutes should be enough? Maybe your corn was older or smaller. I usually do 5-6 and itās fine, but Iāll try 10 next time.
Um I think 7 minutes is too short. I tried 7 and it was still kinda chewy. 10-11 is better for me.
This was my first time boiling corn! I thought it would be harder than it is.
This is so simple! I love how quick it is to make corn on the cob. Tastes just like summer!
Wow, can’t believe how easy this is! I might eat this every day now. š
CORN ON THE COB IS THE BEST SUMMER TREAT EVER!!1!!
Absolutely agree! Nothing beats fresh corn on the cob in summer! š½
Not gonna lie, I forgot to cool it for a few minutes and burned my thumb. Corn was tasty, but oof.
Corn is corn, itās hard to mess up but this is just too basic for me.
Sometimes simple is best! A little butter and salt can go a long way with fresh corn. Trust me, you gotta try this!
One ear of corn only? Feels like a side dish recipe with no instructions for leftovers š . Tastes great though.
I forgot to buy butter, so I used olive oil instead. It worked fine, not great tho. Meh.
This recipe is so easy! I made it for my kids and they loved it! 5 stars!
Butter is sooo unhealthy! Shouldn’t you just steam it? Anyway, good enough I guess.
Isnāt boiling corn kinda boring? I feel like you could char it in a pan or grill for more flavor. Butter is good but it felt plain.
Where’s the cheese? Corn without cheese is like a hug without a smile.
Totally agree! Cheese makes everything better. Maybe sprinkle some parmesan next time?
I dunno, cheese on corn seems weird. Corn is fine as it is, with just butter!
I used salted butter by accident and then added salt⦠oops. Still tasty, but Iād dial back the salt. Also, donāt skip cooling for a minuteāhot butter burns.
Wait, you burn butter if you cool it? I always brush right away while itās hot and itās fine for me. Maybe 1 minute matters? Either way this sounds goodācorn cooks 7-10 mins I guess.
Haha been there. Salted butter + extra salt is definitely a combo that can sneak up on you. I usually start with a tiny pinch of salt and then tasteāāto tasteā is real life advice š
I donāt understand why you would boil corn when you can grill it. It tastes way better and has more flavor.
Yummy!! My kids loved it, but used too much butter than recommended. Oops!
This is the best way to cook corn! So sweet and buttery š½ļø
I followed the steps exactly but my corn felt watery?? maybe my pot wasnāt boiling hard enough. Flavor was okay, texture not perfect.
Huh, I had the same thing once. I think my corn was older/frozen maybe? Like it doesnāt get sweet if itās not fresh. Also did you cool it too long after? I let mine sit and it gets kinda meh⦠just eat right away.
That watery texture usually means it either didnāt boil aggressively or it was cooked a bit too long. Next time, make sure itās a full rolling boil before adding the cornāand try the 7-minute end. Also, did you cover the pot? No cover tends to boil harder.
I followed it pretty much exactly. Iād say start checking at 7 minutes, because my corn went a little soft at 10. Still tasted great though!
Mine took longer than that⦠like 15-ish? Maybe my stove runs cold. I just kept boiling and it was fine, butter after made it taste way better.
Good tip! I always forget it can vary by corn sizeāchecking around 7 makes sense. Glad it still tasted great though.
I boiled the corn 10 minutes and it got kinda mushy. Maybe my pot was too small or my corn was older.
You can also grill corn on the cob! Way better flavor!
This is basic, but sometimes basic is best. Kids ate it right up. Next time Iāll add a squeeze of lime.
I donāt get why people complicate corn. This is exactly what I needed. Clean, boil, butter, done.
Is it really that simple? Seems too easy.
Honestly, is there a wrong way to prepare corn? I love it grilled too!
I dunno, boiled corn is kinda plain. Grilled is better! Try adding some cheese on top!
Absolutely! Grilling gives it such a nice smoky flavor. Can’t go wrong with corn!
Meh. I’ve had better corn elsewhere.
Butter and salt! Yummy š
Soo good! I used garlic powder with the butter and it took it to the next level!
Honestly, corn on the cob should be boiled? I feel like grilling would be better. Not bad, just not my vibe.
Simple and actually works! Boiling for 9 minutes usually hits that perfect tender-but-not-mushy spot for me. Butter after is the way to go.
Simple and actually worksāthank you! I did 9 minutes and the kernels were tender but not mushy. Adding the butter after is honestly the game changer.
I dunno⦠Iāve always boiled corn like 3-5 min and itās good. 9 minutes seems too long, maybe my corn is just smaller? Still gonna try though.
Delicious! I added some garlic powder and it was amazing.
Sounds great! Garlic makes everything better. I’ll try that next time!
My kids loved it! Way easier than I thought it would be.
Delicious!
I can’t believe how easy this is! I made it for my kids and they devoured it. Plus, healthy!
So glad to hear that! It’s such a simple and tasty dish. My kids love it too!
Wait, is corn really healthy? I thought it was bad for you or something. š¤
Kid tested, mother approved š. My family ate it instantly. I added extra butter and they didnāt even let it cool a minute.
So you boil it 7-10 min⦠but do you really need to cool it at all? I usually just dunk it in cold water like my grandma said. Either way sounds easy, gonna try.
Haha ākid tested, mother approvedā is the best kind of review š I always over-butter mine tooāgood call if nobody waits for it to cool!
Butter brushed on after boiling = way better than I expected. I was worried it would get all messy, but nope.
Corn is corn, who cares? Itās just a veggie on a stick basically.
Yum! But I think I like it better with garlic butter. Anyone else try that?
This is literally just boiling corn… I mean, how hard can it be? 1 star for being too easy.
Why do people boil their corn? You should grill it for the best flavor. Just saying.
Grilling corn does taste great, but boiling is easier for me. Plus, it can be super sweet when done right!
But boiling is like, the traditional way? I dunno, I just throw it in water and let it be. It’s corn! How bad can it be? š¤·āāļø
Simple and perfect. Boil, butter, saltāwhat more do you need? I usually do 9 minutes and itās always sweet and tender.
Exactly! Iām the sameājust boil and butter it, no fuss. My kernels are always sweet when I donāt overcook them.
Corn good.
I donāt trust boiled corn, it feels kinda bland. But wow, it actually tasted sweet. I might add a pinch of sugar or garlic powder next time.
Totally get thatāI used to think boiled corn would be meh, but fresh corn is sweet on its own. If you do add sugar, go super light⦠garlic powder sounds like a good twist!
But how long do you boil it if the water is already warm? š¤
If the water is warm, I’d say around 5-7 mins should work, but always check for tenderness!
Tried it exactly as written and the kernels were tender. My kids went back for seconds, so yeah, solid.
Love hearing this! I always worry about overcooking corn, but 7ā10 minutes sounds right. Glad your kids approved š
Huh, I always boil mine longer and itās still good⦠but yours being tender in 7ā10 makes me wanna try again. Did you cover the pot or just leave it open?
This is such a simple recipe! Just perfect for summer BBQs. I love corn on the cob.
Isn’t corn just a starch? Wish there was something more to this recipe.
7 minutes was not enough for me. The kernels were still tough, so I went 10 and it improved a lot.
I donāt get why everyone loves corn on the cob so much. Itās just corn. Meh.
I dunno, itās just corn and butter. Not really anything special. Itās not that great tbh.
Corn on the cob is amazing! The butter and salt really elevate it. You just havenāt had it the right way yet!
Honestly, I don’t think boiling corn is the best way. Grilling gives it more flavor.
I dunno, boiling works fine for me. Maybe I just donāt taste the difference? I think corn is corn.
I totally agree! Grilling adds a smoky flavor that’s just unbeatable. Boiling can make it a bit soggy sometimes.
7-10 minutes is a wide window. I cooked 9 and it was just right, but I think thicker cobs would need closer to 10. Otherwise easy instructions!
Totally agreeā7ā10 is definitely a range. I always aim for the midpoint, but if the corn feels thicker I usually go closer to 9ā10 too.
Thought Iād overcook it, but 7-10 minutes is a good range. Next time Iāll add a pinch of sugar though.
Good call on the timingāovercooking corn is such a tragedy. I usually go 8 minutes max for that sweet-tender bite.
Wait⦠sugar? I thought sugar ruins the taste of corn lol. Maybe just a tiny pinch though. 7-10 min seems long to meāmineās usually 5 and itās fine.
Y’all, I forgot to put the corn in the boiling water first! Ended up just eating the butter on a plate. š
This is the best way to make corn on the cob! So simple and delicious! š
Corn is great, but what even is this simple recipe? I expected something fancier. Disappointed.
7-10 minutes is a huge range⦠I did 7 and it was still kinda chewy. Next time Iāll aim closer to 10.
Mine took more like 12 minutes, but the kernels were totally tender after that. Maybe depends on the corn variety.
12 minutes here tooāmy kernels were way more stubborn. I think the variety makes a big difference like you said. Great call!
Mine did not get tender at all in 7-10. I boiled it longer and still kinda hard š maybe I used the wrong corn? Also my butter kinda slid off lol.
I tried 7 minutes and it was a bit firm, so next time Iāll go closer to 10. Otherwise really easyāno weird steps.
This is basically what my grandma did. No overthinking. Iām giving it five because itās reliable.
I tried this once but I boiled it too long and it got kinda mushy. Maybe my corn was older. Still decent thoā5 for effort? š
Totally agreeāsimple and consistent. I do about 9 minutes and itās perfect every time. Grandma rules still win š
Wouldnāt ālet it cool for a few minutesā melt the butter weirdly? I tried anyway and it was messy but tasty. Maybe chill less.
Idk, mine got a bit chewy at 10 minutes. Maybe I overcooked it or my pot wasnāt boiling hard enough. Still edible though.
Made this tonightāsuper easy and the corn was perfectly tender at about 8 minutes. The butter + salt/pepper combo is exactly what I wanted.
Worldās easiest side dish. I made like 4 cobs and it was gone instantly. Would recommend to anyone who canāt cook.
Pretty good basic recipe. I added a tiny squeeze of lemon at the end and it made the corn taste way sweeter. Would recommend.
Good to know about the lemon! I always add a little butter and salt, but I never tried citrus. Makes sense thoughābrightens everything and can make it taste sweeter. Thanks for the tip! š
So simple but it actually worksātender kernels in under 10 minutes. Butter + pepper is the perfect combo.
Totally agreeāsimple and fast. I did mine 9 minutes and they were perfect. Butter + pepper really pops!
Mine took closer to 12 minutes because the kernels were stubborn. I was worried I messed it up, but fork-tender finally happened. Good method.
Simple and actually foolproof. 8 minutes was perfect for my cornātender but still sweet. The butter + salt/pepper combo is the whole point, honestly.
Super easy and delish! Can’t believe I was overcomplicating corn before.
Tastes fine, but Iām not convinced boiling is the best way. I usually grill mine for more flavor. Still, this is a solid quick option.
Isn’t its boiled overcooked? I like mine grilled with some chili powder. Just sayin’.
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about boiling that long. But 9 minutes did the trickānice bite.
Why boil instead of grill? Boiled corn is fine but I feel like you miss out on flavor. Pepper butter helps, but still.
I liked it, but I wish it had a bit more flavorājust butter, salt, and pepper feels a little plain.
Came out a little bland for me even with salt/pepper. Could be my corn wasnāt very sweet, but Iāll probably add garlic powder next time.
Yeah, Iāve had that happen tooāif the corn isnāt super sweet, it can taste kind of flat even with salt/pepper. Garlic powder sounds like a good fix!
Mine came out kinda bland until I added a pinch of garlic powder. Would make again but season more confidently.
Fantastic! I added some garlic powder to the butter and it was amazing!
Garlic powder sounds interesting! Gonna try that next time for sure!
This worked great! I canāt cook, like at all, and even I followed it and it turned out delicious. Thank you!
Love hearing this! š Corn is one of the easiest winsāespecially when itās boiled just long enough. Glad it turned out delicious for you!
umm 7 minutes??? corn always takes like forever for me. maybe I got sad corn š
So simple but honestly perfect. 8 minutes was spot on for meākernels were tender and juicy. The butter + salt combo is chefās kiss.
Huh, I tried this and mine was kinda chewy at 10 minutes. Maybe my pot was not boiling hard enough? Still tasted good thoāsuper quick side.
Yes!! I was skeptical but 8ā9 minutes nailed it for me tooāstill juicy. That butter + salt combo is seriously everything.
Good! Easy.
Right? Simple and it actually comes out sweet and tender every time.
Who needs butter? Just some salt for me. Simple and good.
Real talk: I did it for 7 minutes and it was crunchy still. I guess my pot was not boiling hard enough. Still good though.
Totally makes senseāif the water wasnāt at a hard boil, the kernels wonāt soften in 7 minutes. Next time, wait until itās really rolling before adding the corn (and donāt cover the pot). Glad it was still tasty though!
I don’t think it needed 7-10 minutes, mine got mushy. Less is more!
The butter brush step is key. I did it a little too fast and some spots were dry, but overall tasty.
Perfect summer side. I served it with garlic butter and it was gone in minutes. Would recommend!
So simple but it turned out perfectātender kernels and the butter/pepper combo was spot on. Will make again.
Yes!! I love when itās that easy and still comes out sweet and tender. The butter + pepper is the move.
I tried it and it was⦠pretty good. But mine took more like 15 minutes to get tender and I think I didnāt use enough salt. Still would make again though.
Iām skeptical about the ā7-10ā window. Every cob Iāve had cooks different. Couldāve used a little more guidance.
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about ājust boil it,ā but the corn was sweet and juicy. Great for weeknights.
