Classic Rice Pudding
A creamy and comforting dessert made with simple ingredients, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 cup white rice uncooked
- 2 cups milk whole preferred
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter optional
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring 1 1/2 cups of water to a boil. Stir in the rice, and reduce the heat to low.
- Cover and simmer for 20 minutes until the rice is tender.
- In another saucepan, combine cooked rice, milk, sugar, and salt. Cook over medium heat until thick and creamy for about 15 to 20 minutes. Stir frequently.
- Remove from heat, and stir in the vanilla extract and butter.
- Transfer to serving dishes and sprinkle with cinnamon before serving.
