Chocolate Chip Pancakes are a breakfast classic that bring joy to any morning. Whether you’re making them for a weekend brunch or a special treat during the week, these fluffy, golden pancakes dotted with rich, gooey chocolate chips are sure to put a smile on your face. They’re simple, sweet, and absolutely delicious.
The base of the pancakes starts with a classic batter—flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, milk, eggs, and melted butter. The key to achieving light and fluffy pancakes is to mix the wet and dry ingredients gently, just until combined. Overmixing can lead to dense pancakes, so it’s best to leave a few lumps in the batter. Once the batter is ready, fold in a generous amount of chocolate chips. You can use semi-sweet, milk, or even dark chocolate depending on your preference.
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and grease it lightly with butter or oil. Pour a scoop of batter onto the hot surface and let it cook until bubbles begin to form on top—this usually takes about 2–3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 1–2 minutes, until golden and cooked through. Repeat until all the batter is used.
Serve your Chocolate Chip Pancakes warm with your favorite toppings. A pat of butter and a drizzle of maple syrup is a classic choice, but they’re also delicious with whipped cream, fresh berries, or a dusting of powdered sugar. For an extra indulgent twist, add a few more chocolate chips or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
These pancakes are a hit with both kids and adults, and they make any morning feel like a celebration. Whether you’re serving them up on a slow Sunday or whipping up a fun breakfast-for-dinner night, Chocolate Chip Pancakes are the ultimate cozy and sweet comfort food.

These pancakes were amazing! Fluffy and the choc chips melted perfectly. My kids loved them!
I don’t get the fuss, they tasted just like regular pancakes. 😒
Maybe you just ain’t a chocoholic! But I think these pancakes are delish! ❤️
They turned out good, but I think I overcooked them a bit. Still tasty, tho.
Why do people put chocolate chips in pancakes? Makes no sense. Just eat plain!
Yummy!! I added some banana slices, and it was a hit. Will make again for sure!
Yummy? Seriously? I found them kinda bland. Maybe the banana helped. I’ll give it another shot, but I’m not so sure.
Banana slices? That’s a great idea! I never thought of that, but I bet it adds a nice flavor. Gonna try it next time!
Pancakes are good, but the ratios seem off. How does one cup of flour make so many?!
Heck yes! Best breakfast ever! Took longer than expected, but so worth it!!!
Yum! I love pancakes! Can’t wait to try these! 😍
Too much sugar for my taste. Next time I’ll cut it down. Just didn’t feel right.
I only had almond milk and it was fine! Just as fluffy. Thanks for the rec!
Decent recipe, but my pancakes got burned. What did I do wrong?
I burned the first batch because my pan was too hot. The second batch was better—medium heat is not optional, friends.
Not gonna lie, I’m skeptical about the “just combined” mixing—every time I do that I get lumpy batter. But this time it worked… kind of. Flavor is good, texture could’ve been lighter.
These pancakes are amazing! Fluffy and chocolaty. My kids loved them!
I had a lot of trouble with this recipe. The batter was too thick, my pancakes burned. Not great.
Yum!!! I added some vanilla extract and they tasted even better! 😍
That’s a great idea! Vanilla does enhance the flavor! I’ll try it next time 😊
I don’t think vanilla is necessary. The chocolate chips are already sweet enough!
Pancake? More like cake pancake! Too sweet for me, my dad would love these tho.
Chocolate chips in pancakes? Is this a breakfast or dessert? 😂 Either way, I’m here for it!
Chocolate chips in pancakes? Why not just eat chocolate cake?!
My pancakes stuck to the pan! Grease it more, maybe? Also, I think I put too much sugar. 🙁
Urgh, I had the same prob! I always burn my pancakes, but I found using non-stick spray helps a lot. And sugar? Too much makes it weird, I keep it to 1 tablespoon maximum.
Yeah, definitely grease the pan more! Otherwise, it’s a sticky mess. And I think sugar can be adjusted, 2 tablespoons works fine for me. Hang in there!
Why do you have to melt the butter? Can’t I just use it cold? It confuses me.
Wow, YUM! I added some bananas too, and it was perfecto!
This recepie is so easy! I don’t have non-stick spray, used olive oil instead and it worked fine.
That’s great! Olive oil works just as well. Glad you enjoyed it!
Chocolate in breakfast? This is the best idea ever! 10/10 would recommend.
These turned out fluffy and actually golden on both sides. The chocolate chips didn’t sink for me either—perfect weekend breakfast.
I tried this recipe and it was a total flop. The batter was too thick, and the pancakes burnt before they cooked through. Maybe I did something wrong?
I tried making them, but they turned out more like a flatbread. Not sure what I did wrong. 🤔
These pancakes are the best! Fluffy and full of chocolatey goodness. My kids loved them!
They look good, but how do you know they’ll come out fluffy? I always end up with flat pancakes. 🤔
I tried these and they were awesome! Can’t wait to make them again for breakfast tomorrow. Thanks for sharing!
Meh. They were alright, nothing special. I wouldn’t make them again.
So easy and quick! A perfect breakfast for lazy weekends. Thanks for sharing!
Pancakes for breakfast? Yes please! Quick and easy recipe. Even I could follow it, and I’m not a great cook.
Good but not the best. I prefer waffles. They are crunchier and funner to eat.
These pancakes are absolutely delicious! Perfectly fluffy and full of chocolatey goodness!
I don’t know what I did wrong but mine turned out super dense. Gonna try again…
I followed the recipe but didn’t have chocolate chips, so I used raisins instead… not the same 😒.
Never tried pancakes before but my friends said they’re the best! I’ll give it a shot! 🍴
Best pancake recpie I ever tried. Taste is sooo goood!!!
I’m so glad you loved it! These pancakes are the best for a lazy weekend breakfast. 😍
I don’t know what went wrong, but mine turned out so flat. Do you really need the baking powder? 🤔
I tried these but they turned out flat… Is it the baking powder? I’m not sure what I did wrong.
I think there’s too much sugar. They tasted like candy! Maybe I’ll cut back next time.
Such a simple recipe! I added some bananas too. Yum!
Adding bananas sounds delicious! I’m definitely trying that next time!
Bananas? Why would you mess with a classic? Stick to the recipe!
I only had self-rising flour and I added baking powder anyway (oops). They rose weird, but still tasted good. Lesson learned: measure carefully.
Oops but honestly I respect the hustle 😄 I’ve done that before—self-rising + extra baking powder can make them a bit wonky, but if they still tasted good that’s a win. Next time I’ll remember to adjust. Measure carefully, got it!
My kids loved these but I think they should put more chocolate chips in the recipe. More chocolate = better!
These pancakes are super fluffy and delicious! My kids loved them! Will definitely make again!
Who needs pancakes when you got waffles? Just sayin! #wafflelover
Waffles are great, but have you tried these pancakes? They’re pretty awesome too! 😋
5 stars, without a doubt!! My whole family raved about them!
That’s awesome to hear! Can’t wait to try them myself! Thanks for the recipe!
Pancakes were nice but a bit too sweet for my taste. Next time, less sugar!
I totally get what you mean! I think pancakes can get way too sweet sometimes. Maybe try using just a little sugar next time!
These pancakes r so annoying lol. I prefer the ones from the box, less mess and easier! 🤷♂️
I don’t know, the mixture was too thick for me. Maybe I did something wrong.
Who needs breakfast when you can have dessert for breakfast? Love them! 🥞❤️
Totally agree! Who doesn’t love a sweet start to the day? These pancakes look yummy! 🍫🥞
I dunno, breakfast should be like eggs and stuff. Dessert for breakfast sounds weird to me. 🤔
Is it just me or is it weird to add chocolate chips in pancakes? I prefer them plain.
I didn’t have butter so I used oil. Are they gonna be just as good? 🤔
Perfect for a lazy Sunday morning! I added some peanut butter to the batter and it was delicious. Will make again! 🙂
So easy to make! I added some vanilla extract – made it even better. Will definitely make again.
Yum! I added banana slices and it was a hit with the kids! Will definitely make again! 😊
Banana slices sound like a great idea! I will try that next time too! 🍌
Followed the recipe closely and they were good, but mine were a little thick. I might add a splash more milk next time. Still delicious though!
Glad you liked them! Totally agree—pancake batter can vary a lot depending on flour brand and how you measure. A splash more milk should loosen them up nicely. Next time, let the batter sit 2–5 minutes too—thickness can settle a bit.
Just too sweet for my taste. Next time I’ll reduce the sugar. 😕
These pancakes are a game changer! So fluffy and delicious! 🌟
My favorite Sunday breakfast now! Better than any diner. Absolutely love it!
Yum! My kids loved these, however, I used oat milk instead of regular milk. Still worked out really well.
Not bad, just not what I expected. Too much chocolate, maybe?
I think the chocolate is what makes these pancakes special! Maybe try using less next time if it’s too much for you.
