Easy Monkey Bread is a sweet, sticky, and delicious pull-apart bread made from biscuit dough, butter, cinnamon, and sugar, perfect for breakfast or dessert.
Easy monkey bread is the ultimate pull-apart treat, a sweet, sticky creation that feels playful and indulgent all at once. It is made up of bite-sized pieces of soft dough coated in cinnamon sugar, baked until golden, and finished with a glossy, buttery glaze. Served warm, it is a dish designed for sharing, inviting everyone to pull apart pieces with their fingers, which makes it just as fun to eat as it is delicious.
What makes monkey bread so appealing is how simple it is to make, especially when using store-bought biscuit dough or pre-made bread dough. This shortcut transforms what could be an elaborate baking project into an easy, crowd-pleasing dish you can whip up in under an hour. The cinnamon sugar coating caramelizes in the oven, creating a sticky, sweet crust around each piece, while the inside stays soft and fluffy. The result is a perfect balance of textures in every bite.
This treat has a nostalgic, homemade feel that makes it perfect for gatherings. It is a favorite for holiday breakfasts, brunch tables, or cozy weekend mornings, filling the kitchen with the irresistible aroma of cinnamon and butter. Served straight from the baking pan or flipped onto a platter, it is as visually impressive as it is tasty, with glossy layers of dough that glisten under a drizzle of icing or a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
Monkey bread’s versatility is another reason it has become a household favorite. While the classic version leans sweet with cinnamon and sugar, you can easily switch things up. Adding chopped nuts, drizzles of caramel sauce, or a cream cheese glaze takes it to a whole new level. On the savory side, versions with garlic, cheese, or herbs transform this dish into a flavorful appetizer or side.
Part of the magic of monkey bread is its communal nature. Instead of slicing or serving with utensils, guests simply pull apart pieces, making it an interactive and welcoming addition to the table. It is proof that great desserts don’t need to be complicated to be memorable. Easy monkey bread delivers warmth, sweetness, and a sense of fun in every bite, making it a go-to treat for any occasion.

Uh, a lot of sugar, right? I thot it was too much for my diet. Can’t eat like this every day! 😬
Sooo good, but I had to bake it for longer than 35 min. Maybe my oven is messed up? Anyway, still tasty!
Sometimes ovens can be tricky! Glad you still enjoyed it. Maybe try lowering the temp next time?
I thought this would taste better. Kinda bland, not what I expected. I like more flavor. 😕
Yum! Good recipe, but how do I make it with chocolate?? Anyone have ideas?
My dough didn’t rise well, what did I do wrong? 🤔
Did you check if your yeast is fresh? Also, biscuit dough already has a lot of chemicals that can affect rising!
Maybe you didn’t let the dough come to room temp before baking? That can mess with the rise!
This was a hit at my family dinner! So easy and delicious. I can’t believe how quick it was to make! 😊
Easy but too sweet for my taste. I think I might try reducing the sugar next time. Just my preference.
This recipe is stupid easy! My 10 year old can make it by themselves. Thank you! 👍
I love monkey bread! Made this for my kids and they gobbled it up! Will definitely make again! 🍞❤️
