Pistachio Butter Cinnamon Rolls
Deliciously nutty and sweet pistachio butter cinnamon rolls perfect for breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour plus extra for dusting
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast equivalent to 2 1/4 teaspoons
- 1/2 cup warm milk about 110°F
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 large egg room temperature
- 1 cup pistachio butter for filling
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon for filling
- 1/4 cup brown sugar for filling
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and yeast. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Pour into the flour mixture and knead until a soft dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Deflate the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle.
- Spread the pistachio butter over the rolled-out dough. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon and brown sugar.
- Carefully roll the dough into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the pieces in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. Optionally, glaze with icing or sprinkle with additional ground cinnamon.
