Cheese and Herb Muffins

March 20, 2024

Versatile Flavor Combinations

Cheese and herb muffins offer endless possibilities for flavor combinations. You can use various types of cheese such as cheddar, mozzarella, feta, or Parmesan, and pair them with herbs like parsley, chives, dill, rosemary, or thyme. This versatility allows you to create muffins with unique and delicious flavors to suit your taste preferences.

Balanced Nutrition

While cheese and herb muffins may seem indulgent, they can be a nutritious choice when made with wholesome ingredients. Cheese provides protein and calcium, while herbs add flavor and essential vitamins and minerals. When made with whole grain flour and other wholesome ingredients, these muffins can be a satisfying and balanced snack or meal option.

Portable and Convenient

Cheese and herb muffins are perfect for on-the-go snacking or as a quick meal option. They are portable and easy to pack, making them ideal for school lunches, picnics, road trips, or busy mornings when you need a nutritious and satisfying snack to take with you.

Freezer-Friendly

Cheese and herb muffins can be made in advance and stored in the freezer for later use. Simply bake a batch of muffins, allow them to cool completely, then wrap them individually in plastic wrap or aluminum foil and place them in a freezer-safe bag or container. When you’re ready to enjoy them, simply thaw them in the refrigerator or microwave and warm them up in the oven or microwave for a delicious and convenient snack or meal.

Customizable Additions

In addition to cheese and herbs, you can customize cheese and herb muffins with other flavorful additions such as cooked bacon or ham, chopped vegetables, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, or nuts. These additions can add extra texture, flavor, and nutritional value to the muffins, allowing you to tailor them to your personal preferences.

Homemade Goodness

Making cheese and herb muffins from scratch allows you to control the ingredients and customize them to suit your dietary needs and preferences. You can experiment with different types of cheese, herbs, and other add-ins to create your own unique and delicious muffin recipes that you won’t find in stores.

Too much cheese! My kids didn’t like them! I will reduce the cheese next time.

I’ve never had a problem with too much cheese! My kids love it! Maybe they just don’t like the herbs?

  2. User avatar Glenda Roob says:

    3 stars
The amount of cheese is right, but I think 1 tbsp baking powder might be too much? My muffins rose a lot and then sank slightly.

They look great, but I’m not sure about the herbs. Can you skip them?

Delicious! Just like my grandma used to make. Thanks for the recipe!

  8. User avatar aron.corwin50 says:

    3 stars
Mine were a little dense, I think I overmixed. Next time I’ll stir just until combined like it says. Still tasty though.

  9. User avatar wilford.heller says:

    4 stars
Not bad at all. They’re like savory breakfast muffins. Texture was fluffy, though I wish there was a little more seasoning—maybe more black pepper.

  10. User avatar susanne.sauer26 says:

    5 stars
These muffins were a huge hit at my family brunch! Fluffy and full of flavor.

  11. User avatar rickiestmorty says:

    Muffins good! Make me smile.

  12. User avatar jolanda.rohan27 says:

Super easy to make! I used dill instead of thyme, turned out great!

    1. User avatar horace.kuvalis says:

      2 stars
But isn’t thyme the traditional herb? I dunno, can dill really work here?

    2. 5 stars
That sounds delicious! I love dill, I might try that substitution too!

  13. User avatar akiko.rowe says:

    5 stars
These muffins are so fluffy and taste amazing! I used half cheddar and half mozzarella, and they were a hit. Definitely making them again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  14. 5 stars
These are the best! Perfect with some soup. Gonna make them every week! 🍞❤️

  15. 4 stars
1 egg, 1 cup milk… seems okay, but I feel like it’s missing garlic or something. Also I got peppery. Still ate them all.

    1. User avatar hiroko.robel23 says:

      3 stars
Hmm I disagree—no garlic needed. The pepper and herbs are already doing the job. Also 1 cup milk is pretty standard for muffins. Maybe your cheese was saltier than mine?

    2. User avatar cory.ondricka91 says:

      4 stars
Garlic would definitely take these up a notch 😅 Did you use fresh herbs or dried? I’m thinking the pepper could’ve been just a bit too high—next time try cutting it to like 1/8 tsp.

  16. User avatar ina.nader91 says:

    3 stars
I only have mozzarella. Can I use that instead? Not sure if that will work.

    1. User avatar Draugr Deathlord says:

      4 stars
Mozzarella would probably make them super gooey! I say go for it! It’ll be like a cheese explosion.

    2. User avatar tabitha.murphy61 says:

      3 stars
I dunno, but cheddar and parmesan have a stronger flavor. Mozzarella might be too bland. Maybe add some spices?

  17. User avatar monte.mcdermott says:

    5 stars
Made these last night and they turned out super fluffy—cheesy and nicely herby. I used chives and it was a great combo with the black pepper. Will definitely bake again!

  18. User avatar allan.legros6 says:

    4 stars
Soooo easy. I mixed wet and dry and just stirred till combined—no overmixing. Thank you for that tip, they didn’t get tough.

  19. User avatar paris.jakubowski63 says:

    5 stars
Cheese and herbs, yum! 😍 My kids loved them, I’ll say this was a win! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  20. User avatar arlene.harris72 says:

    5 stars
These turned out super fluffy and cheesy—love the herb flavor. I used chives and they were gone way too fast in my house.

  21. 2 stars
Cheese?? I thought we avoid it if on low carbs. Not for me!

    1. User avatar suspiciousCommentator says:

      2 stars
But this recipe has a lot of flour, which is carbs too! Not worth it if you’re really watching your carbs. Just saying.

    2. User avatar darci.rutherford says:

      4 stars
Cheese can be low carb, just in moderation! These muffins look delicious, I might give them a try despite the carbs.

  22. 1 star
I messed this up big time! Forgot the baking powder and they didn’t rise at all. 😩

  23. 3 stars
Are these muffins supposed to rise a lot? Mine stayed pretty flat. 😕

    1. User avatar Draugr Thrall says:

      3 stars
Flat muffins? That’s weird. I thought muffins were supposed to be puffy! How much butter did you use?

    2. User avatar yasmine.spencer77 says:

      4 stars
Yeah, they should rise a bit! Maybe your baking powder is old? That can happen. 🤔

  24. User avatar chere.harvey65 says:

    5 stars
These muffins are fantastic! I added garlic and it made them even better. Will definitely make again!

  25. 2 stars
Honestly? Kinda bland. I know it says 1/2 tsp salt and pepper, but it needed more herbs—like double thyme.

  26. User avatar heriberto.kertzmann75 says:

    4 stars
I replaced the cheddar with gouda and added some olives. So good!

    1. User avatar jeremiah.trantow2019 says:

      2 stars
Olives? In muffins? Not sure if that will work. But who knows, maybe it’s a new thing.

    2. User avatar arden.greenholt says:

      5 stars
That sounds amazing! Gouda and olives are such a great combo. I need to try that next time!

  27. 5 stars
Made these at 10pm last night (I was craving cheese muffins but we had a power failure so I waited). I’m going to buy more cheese later today so I can make more because the first batch just wasn’t enough 😅. I heat them a little before eating them and put a little bit of butter and it’s heaven, great for a winter snack. Best recipe ever!

  28. 4 stars
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about using melted butter—usually I cream it. But it worked. Texture was nice.

  29. User avatar shannon.legros57 says:

    4 stars
Quick and easy recipe! Perfect for a weekday breakfast. I’ll definitely keep this one.

  30. User avatar johnie.thompson says:

    5 stars
These came out super fluffy and cheesy—exactly what I wanted. I used chives and they smelled amazing while baking.

  31. User avatar Ryuu Shenlong says:

    2 stars
I didn’t really like the texture. They turned out kind of dry for me. Maybe too much flour?

  32. User avatar Shrine Maidens says:

    4 stars
Pretty good! I used dried herbs since I didn’t have fresh, and I think next time I’ll add a bit more. Texture was nice though.

    1. User avatar bridgette.franecki41 says:

      4 stars
I made these once and they were a little bland for me. I also used dried herbs but didn’t adjust—your note about adding more makes sense. Maybe I’ll try with extra seasoning next time.

    2. User avatar rich.landlord says:

      5 stars
Thanks! Dried herbs definitely work—agreed that you may want to bump the amount a bit. Glad the texture came out nice 😊

  33. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

    3 stars
Are these muffins supposed to be sweet? I was really expecting some sugar. Kinda disappointed.

    1. User avatar lacey.abshire11 says:

      4 stars
These muffins are savory, not sweet. It’s meant to be cheesy and herb-flavored. Give them a try with a bit of butter! 😊

  34. 2 stars
I followed it exactly and they turned out flat. Also my cheddar was pretty salty so maybe that’s why. Could use more baking powder??

  35. User avatar buster.walsh98 says:

    4 stars
Tasted good but forgot the eggs 🥴. LOL . Still came out okay!

  36. 2 stars
Not bad, but mine tasted kinda bland. Could’ve been the herbs—forgot to chop them fine. Also I used salted butter so maybe I needed to adjust the salt/pepper.

    1. User avatar francis.kris says:

      4 stars
Maybe you needed more cheese? Like honestly 1/4 cup parmesan + 1/2 cup cheddar feels a lil light for me. And if you’re using salted butter, I’d think you’d also want to reduce the 1/2 tsp salt in the recipe—unless the butter was barely salted. Mine still tastes good, but I always chop the herbs super finely.

    2. User avatar russel.hamill says:

      5 stars
Thanks! I’ve totally had that “bland” moment when the herbs aren’t chopped fine enough. I started mincing thyme/chives super small and it helps a lot. Also if you used salted butter, you can probably cut back a pinch on the salt next time.

  37. 5 stars
These are a winner. I meal-prepped them and reheated the next day—still great. The crust is so nice with the cheese.

  38. User avatar Caren Ernser says:

    3 stars
I messed up and overmixed (oops). They’re still edible, just tougher than I wanted. Still cheesy and comforting.

    1. User avatar alan.ryan77 says:

      4 stars
Ugh, that’s the worst—overmixing muffins is *so* easy to do. But honestly, still cheesy and comforting sounds like a win. Next time try mixing just until no dry flour shows; the rest is tenderness.

    2. User avatar Farengar says:

      3 stars
Wait, if you overmixed they get tough, right? I thought baking powder fixes everything 😅 Still, cheese muffins are hard to ruin. Maybe bake 1-2 min less next time so they don’t dry out.

  39. 5 stars
can’t wait to try these. they look yum

    1. User avatar Questular Rontok says:

      5 stars
Hope you enjoy them! They really are delicious.

  40. User avatar johnathon.jast1980 says:

    4 stars
Cool recipe! I used oat milk instead of regular milk and it turned out fine.

  41. 2 stars
I just don’t see how these are muffins. They’re more like scones.

  42. User avatar randee.ondricka25 says:

    3 stars
Question: does 1 tbsp baking powder seem low? Mine didn’t rise as much as I expected, but the cheese pull was still real.

    1. 4 stars
Yeah, 1 tbsp for 2 cups flour doesn’t sound crazy—muffins don’t always “soar” like sweet cupcakes. The cheese pull could still mean they baked up fine.

  43. 3 stars
I followed the recipe but they turned out kinda dry. Maybe I overcooked them?

  44. 4 stars
I don’t like thyme, so I used basil instead. Still turned out great!

  45. User avatar felix.tillman says:

    5 stars
Super cheesy! My kids loved them! Will definitely make again.

  46. 3 stars
Just okay, but my kids loved them! So I guess that’s a win! 🙂

  47. 3 stars
Pretty good, but mine were a bit dry. I think I overbaked slightly. Next time I’ll pull them closer to 18 minutes and maybe add a splash more milk.

  48. User avatar Nancy Blanda III says:

    5 stars
5 stars just for how fast it is. Minor issue: my pepper went everywhere when I opened the jar. Still worth it.

  49. User avatar reva.osinski says:

    3 stars
The recipe needs more salt! I added a pinch more and they were okay.

    1. 3 stars
I think the salt is fine as is. Maybe try adjusting your taste buds? 😂

    2. User avatar franchesca.rippin1955 says:

      2 stars
More salt? Seriously? I think you’re just used to stuff being super salty. These muffins are meant to have a nice balance!

  50. User avatar marth.graham89 says:

    2 stars
These are definitely not muffins, more like cheesy bread in a cup lol.

    1. User avatar Anne T. Lope says:

      4 stars
It’s true, they do taste more like savory bread than traditional muffins! But they’re so good, I can’t complain! 😋

  51. User avatar adrian.tillman58 says:

    1 star
Why do people use so much flour? I’m no chef, but I don’t get it.

  52. User avatar parker.johnston says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about adding milk + melted butter + egg like that, but it worked. Also the cheese ratio is legit.

  53. User avatar MAGA2024.Trumpster says:

    3 stars
I dunno, they were okay but a bit too salty for my taste. Maybe lay off the cheese next time?

  54. User avatar rocky.price says:

    5 stars
So easy! The smell while baking was unreal. I added a pinch of garlic powder and it made them even better.

  55. 2 stars
I don’t know. They taste kind of weird to me. Maybe I did something wrong?

  56. User avatar herman.funk28 says:

    2 stars
I dunno, mine came out kinda dry. Maybe too much flour? I followed the recipe tho.

    1. 4 stars
Yeah, too much flour can definitely make them dry. Did you measure it properly? I always fluff it first to get a more accurate amount.

  57. 2 stars
Your instructions are confusing! Are we supposed to mix the cheese in wet or dry? Didn’t turn out well for me. 🙁

  58. User avatar Jack Schowalter says:

    3 stars
Not enough cheese for my taste. Should I add more next time?

  59. User avatar glenn.herzog36 says:

    3 stars
Just ok, but I think they could use more flavor. Add garlic next time!

  60. 3 stars
My batter seemed thick—like spoonable dough—so I added a splash more milk. Worked out, but the original ratio felt off to me.

  61. User avatar Saruman the White says:

    3 stars
They were good but sorta hard to get out of the tin. More butter next time!

  62. User avatar halina.kassulke says:

    5 stars
OMG, the best thing I ever baked! The herbs give it such a unique flavor. Will make again!!

  63. User avatar suspiciousCommentator says:

    2 stars
I’m not sure what went wrong, but mine were flat and kinda hard. Maybe my baking powder is old?

  64. User avatar desirae.fay21 says:

    4 stars
Uhhh… I forgot the herbs. Still tasted fine, but I feel like I missed out. Next time for sure!

  65. User avatar Restless Draugr says:

    5 stars
These muffins are freakin amazing! I added some jalapeños for a kick and they turned out perfect!

    1. 2 stars
Really? Jalapeños? That seems kinda strange for muffins. I don’t know if I would like that. 🤔

    2. User avatar zelda.medhurst says:

      5 stars
That sounds like an awesome twist! I never thought about adding jalapeños to muffins, but I’m definitely trying it next time!

  66. User avatar lynwood.schneider77 says:

    5 stars
Muffin recipe? More like a muffin trap, they vanished so fast!

  67. User avatar bernard.prosacco10 says:

    4 stars
I added extra parmesan because… why not, lol. Texture came out better than expected. Maybe a little salty for some, but I love salty.

  68. User avatar Chaurus Hunter says:

    5 stars
Nice recipe. I added jalapeños for a kick! Pro tip: don’t skip the cooling part.

  69. 2 stars
Wasn’t impressed. Got a weird aftertaste. Maybe my cheese was bad?

    1. 4 stars
Maybe it was the cheese! Fresh cheese makes a big difference. I used old cheese once and it totally ruined my dish. Give it another try with fresher ingredients!

  70. User avatar jamie.fritsch1969 says:

    1 star
Where’s the sugar? This is not a muffin without sweet! Just saying. ⭐

  71. User avatar andrea.yundt says:

    5 stars
These muffins were a hit at my brunch! Super cheesy and fluffy. Highly recommend!

    1. 5 stars
I’m so glad to hear that! I made these muffins last week, and everyone loved them too! They’re now a staple in my brunch rotation.

  72. User avatar thaddeus.ziemann27 says:

    3 stars
I followed the recipe exactly… kinda dry. Maybe I overbaked??

  73. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

    4 stars
Good recipe, but mine were a bit dry. I think I maybe overbaked them (stuck at 20 min). Next time I’ll check at 16-17.

  74. User avatar svetlana.wolff62 says:

    2 stars
Instructions was kind of confusing. How many muffins does this make? I made 6.

  75. User avatar yoshiko.schoen says:

    5 stars
Yum! I added some bacon bits and they were even better. 10/10 would make again!

    1. User avatar Android 17 says:

      5 stars
Bacon bits? Genius! I never thought of that. Gonna try it next time! 😊

    2. 3 stars
Really? Bacon in muffins? That sounds kinda weird to me. But hey, if it works for you! 🤷‍♂️

  76. 5 stars
I don’t even like muffins, but wow these were good. Would make again for sure! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  77. User avatar Wonko the Sane says:

    2 stars
I don’t get why people put cheese in muffins. Seems weird to me.

  78. User avatar Pizpot Gargravarr says:

    4 stars
So easy to make! I made them with my kids and we had so much fun. Will definitely make again.

    1. User avatar octavio.hand says:

      5 stars
That sounds amazing! I love when recipes are kid-friendly. Will try this with my niece.

    2. User avatar ayana.pouros9 says:

      2 stars
Honestly, I don’t trust recipes like this. What if they turn out dry? I prefer more details.

  79. User avatar katherina.keebler89 says:

    2 stars
Not gonna lie, I’m skeptical. 375°F seems too low for muffins to brown evenly, and mine were pale. Flavor was okay though.

  80. 1 star
Muffins? I thought this was cake! Not impressed, I like my desserts sweet.

    1. User avatar lindsay.hahn1976 says:

      3 stars
These are muffins, not a cake! You should’ve read the title. Maybe try making something with sugar next time?

  81. User avatar chuck.rath2017 says:

    5 stars
These muffins are fantastic! So cheesy and flavorful. My family loves them!

  82. User avatar maris.rutherford says:

Made these last night and they turned out super cheesy and fluffy. The herb flavor is perfect—mine used chives and it was delicious.

    1. User avatar james.koss21 says:

      5 stars
So glad you liked them! Chives sound like a perfect swap—cheesy + herb muffins are the best combo. Did you stick with 18–20 min for yours?

  83. User avatar ernestina.ernser21 says:

    5 stars
I made them for my book club. Everyone loved them! Even the picky eaters.

    1. User avatar natasha.turner says:

Delicious indeed—these came out golden and cheesy for me too. I love that the steps are straightforward and pretty foolproof. Thanks for sharing!

  85. User avatar javier.skiles88 says:

    3 stars
Good idea, but mine were a bit dry. I think I overbaked (I was afraid of raw center). Maybe check earlier at 16-18 min depending on your oven.

  86. User avatar karly.ward1972 says:

    5 stars
These muffins came out so fluffy and delicious! My family devoured them in no time. Will definitely make again.

    1. 5 stars
Bacon sounds delicious! I’ve never thought of that combo. Can’t wait to try these muffins with bacon! 🍽️

    2. User avatar prince.denesik2021 says:

I tried this recipe and failed. Muffins didn’t rise at all! What did I do wrong?

  89. 1 star
U just mix all that stuff? Sounds too easy. I doubt they’ll taste good. Next time I will stick to store bought.

I don’t get why everyone loves this recipe. They turned out kinda dry for me. Maybe I did something wrong?

    1. 4 stars
I get what you mean! Mine turned out dry too, but I think it’s because I overmixed the batter. Maybe just mix till combined next time?

    2. 5 stars
Honestly, I love this recipe! But dry muffins can happen if you use too much flour. Make sure to measure correctly!

Bacon bits sounds great! I bet that would add a nice crunch and flavor! 😋

    2. User avatar Terence Kunde says:

I dunno about bacon in muffins, that sounds kinda weird. Aren’t they supposed to be sweet?

  93. User avatar Dan Streetmentioner says:

I used chives instead of thyme and added a pinch of garlic powder. Huge fan—savory muffins that actually taste like something.

  94. User avatar olimpia.labadie93 says:

  107. User avatar rupert.breitenberg24 says:

Tried using feta instead of cheddar, and it was amazing! Mixing it up is fun!

  108. 4 stars
Good flavor, but mine were a little dense. I think I overmixed the batter (I was stirring “just in case”). Next time I’ll be more gentle.

  109. 3 stars
I followed the recipe but my muffins came out a bit dense. Maybe my cheddar was too dry? Still tasted good with butter.

    1. 4 stars
Dense muffins usually mean the batter got over-mixed or the baking powder sat too long. Cheese being dry can’t help, but I’d also check that you only “stir until just combined.” Next time, try mixing less and make sure your baking powder is fresh.

  110. 2 stars
I don’t know, they just didn’t taste right. Maybe I did something wrong? 🤷‍♂️

    1. User avatar bula.schultz29 says:

  116. User avatar shawnna.dicki says:

  118. User avatar gaye.denesik says:

  120. User avatar arthur.daugherty says:

I’m skeptical about using 1 tbsp baking powder for only 2 cups flour. It feels like a lot, but the texture was still fine. Flavor is great though.

    1. User avatar horacio.reinger1990 says:

      4 stars
1 tbsp baking powder *does* sound like a lot, but muffins are forgiving. If they rose nice and stayed tender, you’re good.

    2. User avatar maryanna.oconner says:

      4 stars
I was skeptical too, but 1 tbsp for 2 cups is pretty normal for muffins. Glad it didn’t taste too “bready”!

  121. User avatar emerson.moore66 says:

    2 stars
375 is the correct temp right? Mine might’ve been too hot because the bottoms got dark before the centers were done. I’ll try again with lower rack next time.

    1. 5 stars
Yep, 375°F is right. If the bottoms browned too fast, try moving the pan to the middle rack and/or using a light-colored muffin tin. Also maybe check a minute or two early if your oven runs hot.

  122. 4 stars
Easy to make and delicious! I added some garlic powder for an extra kick. Yum! 🧄✨

    1. User avatar isiah.swaniawski35 says:

      3 stars
Dry? I thought they were awesome! Did you maybe bake them too long?

    2. 4 stars
I’m sorry to hear that! Maybe try adding a bit more moisture next time, like an extra egg or some yogurt? It might help!

  128. User avatar weldon.lehner says:

    1. User avatar Hanh Lowe II says:

      4 stars
Yeah, I think you might have baked them too long. I’ve done that before too! Try reducing the time next time. 😄

  130. 5 stars
MUFFINS ARE GOOD! I like cheese 🧀.

    1. 5 stars
Agree! Muffins are the best! Can’t wait to try this cheesy version! 🧀

  131. User avatar clora.flatley2020 says:

    4 stars
375°F feels a bit low? Mine took closer to 25 minutes to fully set. Flavor is great, just pay attention to baking time.

  132. User avatar jesusa.koss says:

    5 stars
Wow, easy and tasty. I’m not usually a muffin person, but these are great warm with a pinch of flaky salt on top.

    1. 5 stars
Same here—I’m usually more of a bread person than muffins, but these are dangerously good. The cheese + herbs combo is spot on. 🧀🌿

    2. User avatar royce.friesen19 says:

      3 stars
I tried these but my batter seemed a lot thicker than in the pics? I still baked them 20 min, and they came out kinda dense. Any tips—maybe I overmixed or used less milk than the recipe says?

  133. User avatar Arwen Evenstar says:

    4 stars
Didn’t have thyme or chives, so I just added some Italian seasoning. Still really tasty!

    1. 5 stars
Italian seasoning is a smart substitute! I’ll try that next time. Glad they turned out tasty!

  134. User avatar claude.windler1977 says:

    5 stars
Cheddar + parmesan is a smart combo. I served them with soup and everyone asked for the recipe. Would absolutely make again.

    1. User avatar suspiciousCommentator says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—cheddar + parmesan gives them that really savory, melty flavor. I love pairing these with soup too. 🙌

  135. 3 stars
Confession: I didn’t have fresh herbs so I used dried. They still worked, but the flavor was flatter. Would be better with fresh.

    1. User avatar bertha.sawayn2005 says:

      5 stars
Thanks for the honest note! I’ve always thought dried herbs can work, but yeah—fresh usually gives more “pop.” Next time I’ll try fresh thyme/chives for sure.

  136. User avatar pam.torphy1957 says:

    2 stars
They didn’t rise like muffins should for me. My batter seemed thick and I baked the full 20 minutes. Maybe my baking powder is old?

  137. User avatar freddy.gaylord31 says:

    3 stars
Good recipe but my muffins came out flat. Did I mess up somewhere?

  138. User avatar zaida.vonrueden65 says:

    3 stars
Pretty tasty, though the batter felt thicker than expected. Also I used dried herbs since I didn’t have fresh—still worked, but not as bright.

    1. User avatar alejandro.kassulke46 says:

      5 stars
Glad it still worked! If the batter was thicker, I’d try adding a splash more milk next time—cheese and dried herbs can make it feel denser.

  139. 2 stars
I followed the recipe and they spread a lot. Not sure if my baking powder is old, but the tops didn’t look as tall as the pictures online. Still edible though.

  140. User avatar Spider Guardian says:

    3 stars
I like savory muffins, but these were a little salty for my taste. Cutting the salt in half next time might fix it.

  141. User avatar delmy.cummings2000 says:

    4 stars
I didn’t have fresh herbs so I used dried (about 1 tsp). Honestly still good, but the herb kick is weaker.

    1. User avatar myrta.crooks16 says:

      5 stars
Good to know! I’ve found dried herbs can be a bit muted too—next time try a touch more (like 1 1/2 tsp) or even a pinch of extra thyme/chives. Still sounds like a win.

  142. User avatar robert.pouros89 says:

    5 stars
These turned out super fluffy and cheesy—love the herb flavor. I used chives and the tops were perfect. Will definitely make again!

    1. User avatar Tristana says:

      5 stars
Yes!! I’ve been looking for muffins that are actually fluffy—cheese muffins usually turn out dense for me. Glad the herb flavor came through too. 😊

    2. User avatar meg.kiehn2010 says:

      4 stars
Huh, I tried something like this once and my tops never came out perfect—maybe I overmixed. Did you let the batter sit or bake right away?

  143. User avatar Miss Charley Corwin says:

    5 stars
OMG! These muffins are DELICIOUS! Can’t believe how fluffy they turned out.

  144. User avatar Super Saiyan Vegeta says:

    5 stars
Made these tonight—super tasty. The cheese flavor is legit and the herbs really lift it. Mine took the full 20 minutes but they came out perfect.

  145. User avatar brain.zboncak61 says:

    4 stars
Pretty tasty, though 375°F felt a bit long—mine browned early at 15 minutes. I’d watch them closer. Still a solid recipe.

  146. User avatar haley.treutel86 says:

    4 stars
Really solid recipe. I followed it exactly, but mine took closer to 22 minutes. Still golden and flavorful. Next time I’ll add a pinch of garlic powder.

  147. User avatar yu.hauck72 says:

    3 stars
Cheese in muffins? Doesn’t sound right. I’m skeptical about this but I might try it for a laugh.

  148. User avatar Abigail Kutch says:

    3 stars
Mine didn’t rise as much as I expected. I’m wondering if my baking powder is old or if I overmixed after adding the wet ingredients.

    1. User avatar Lumberjack says:

      4 stars
That’s super common with muffins—especially if the baking powder is old. I’d check the date, and also make sure you didn’t overmix; once the wet hits the dry, “just combined” really means lumpy is fine. I usually let the batter sit 2 minutes too before baking.

    2. User avatar Antonina Dietrich says:

      3 stars
Mine didn’t rise either and I think it was my egg maybe? also I mixed way more than the recipe said lol. Try fresh bakin powder and stop stirring once it comes together. 375 for 20 mins worked for me.

  149. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    4 stars
The instructions are simple, but 375°F for 18-20 min is a tight window. Mine were done closer to 22—worth watching closely.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree—375°F is quick. Mine once went from perfect to slightly dry in like 2 minutes, so yeah, watching closely matters.

    2. User avatar aide.connelly98 says:

      4 stars
I’ve tried 18 min exactly and they came out kind of underdone in the middle 😅 22 sounds more realistic with my oven. Also, do you let the toothpick wiggle or just straight up check?

  150. User avatar stewart.wisozk85 says:

    5 stars
These came out super fluffy and cheesy! I used chives and they smelled amazing while baking. I’ll definitely make them again for brunch.

    1. User avatar jamel.kihn2014 says:

      5 stars
Yes!! The herb + cheddar combo is the best—mine always smells so good while they’re baking too. I love that you used chives; I bet they give it that sharper bite. Thanks for confirming they stay super fluffy!

  151. 4 stars
Pretty good. I think I overmixed a bit and they were slightly tough, but still tasted amazing. Next time I’ll be more gentle.

  152. User avatar russ.hartmann16 says:

    5 stars
These are dangerously good. I ate one warm and the cheese pull was unreal. Also my kids actually liked them without complaining—win.

  153. User avatar Wonko the Sane says:

    3 stars
The ingredient list says fresh herbs thyme, or chives), such as parsley) — is that a typo? I used parsley and it worked, but the grammar threw me off a little.

  154. 4 stars
Wait… are we supposed to use 1 tbsp fresh herbs with thyme, or chives or parsley? I used whatever I had and it was still ok. Kinda confusing but tasty.
