Cheese and Herb Muffins

March 20, 2024

Versatile Flavor Combinations

Cheese and herb muffins offer endless possibilities for flavor combinations. You can use various types of cheese such as cheddar, mozzarella, feta, or Parmesan, and pair them with herbs like parsley, chives, dill, rosemary, or thyme. This versatility allows you to create muffins with unique and delicious flavors to suit your taste preferences.

Balanced Nutrition

While cheese and herb muffins may seem indulgent, they can be a nutritious choice when made with wholesome ingredients. Cheese provides protein and calcium, while herbs add flavor and essential vitamins and minerals. When made with whole grain flour and other wholesome ingredients, these muffins can be a satisfying and balanced snack or meal option.

Portable and Convenient

Cheese and herb muffins are perfect for on-the-go snacking or as a quick meal option. They are portable and easy to pack, making them ideal for school lunches, picnics, road trips, or busy mornings when you need a nutritious and satisfying snack to take with you.

Freezer-Friendly

Cheese and herb muffins can be made in advance and stored in the freezer for later use. Simply bake a batch of muffins, allow them to cool completely, then wrap them individually in plastic wrap or aluminum foil and place them in a freezer-safe bag or container. When you’re ready to enjoy them, simply thaw them in the refrigerator or microwave and warm them up in the oven or microwave for a delicious and convenient snack or meal.

Customizable Additions

In addition to cheese and herbs, you can customize cheese and herb muffins with other flavorful additions such as cooked bacon or ham, chopped vegetables, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, or nuts. These additions can add extra texture, flavor, and nutritional value to the muffins, allowing you to tailor them to your personal preferences.

Homemade Goodness

Making cheese and herb muffins from scratch allows you to control the ingredients and customize them to suit your dietary needs and preferences. You can experiment with different types of cheese, herbs, and other add-ins to create your own unique and delicious muffin recipes that you won’t find in stores.

Too much cheese! My kids didn’t like them! I will reduce the cheese next time.

I’ve never had a problem with too much cheese! My kids love it! Maybe they just don’t like the herbs?

Super easy to make! I used dill instead of thyme, turned out great!

    1. User avatar horace.kuvalis says:

      2 stars
But isn’t thyme the traditional herb? I dunno, can dill really work here?

    2. 5 stars
That sounds delicious! I love dill, I might try that substitution too!

  7. User avatar ina.nader91 says:

I only have mozzarella. Can I use that instead? Not sure if that will work.

    1. User avatar Draugr Deathlord says:

      4 stars
Mozzarella would probably make them super gooey! I say go for it! It’ll be like a cheese explosion.

    2. User avatar tabitha.murphy61 says:

      3 stars
I dunno, but cheddar and parmesan have a stronger flavor. Mozzarella might be too bland. Maybe add some spices?

  8. 2 stars
Cheese?? I thought we avoid it if on low carbs. Not for me!

    1. User avatar suspiciousCommentator says:

      2 stars
But this recipe has a lot of flour, which is carbs too! Not worth it if you’re really watching your carbs. Just saying.

    2. User avatar darci.rutherford says:

      4 stars
Cheese can be low carb, just in moderation! These muffins look delicious, I might give them a try despite the carbs.

  9. 5 stars
Made these at 10pm last night (I was craving cheese muffins but we had a power failure so I waited). I’m going to buy more cheese later today so I can make more because the first batch just wasn’t enough 😅. I heat them a little before eating them and put a little bit of butter and it’s heaven, great for a winter snack. Best recipe ever!

  10. User avatar shannon.legros57 says:

    4 stars
Quick and easy recipe! Perfect for a weekday breakfast. I’ll definitely keep this one.

  11. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

Are these muffins supposed to be sweet? I was really expecting some sugar. Kinda disappointed.

    1. User avatar lacey.abshire11 says:

      4 stars
These muffins are savory, not sweet. It’s meant to be cheesy and herb-flavored. Give them a try with a bit of butter! 😊

  12. 5 stars
can’t wait to try these. they look yum

    1. User avatar Questular Rontok says:

      5 stars
Hope you enjoy them! They really are delicious.

  13. 2 stars
I just don’t see how these are muffins. They’re more like scones.

  14. 3 stars
I followed the recipe but they turned out kinda dry. Maybe I overcooked them?

  15. 4 stars
I don’t like thyme, so I used basil instead. Still turned out great!

  16. 3 stars
Just okay, but my kids loved them! So I guess that’s a win! 🙂

  17. User avatar reva.osinski says:

    3 stars
The recipe needs more salt! I added a pinch more and they were okay.

    1. 3 stars
I think the salt is fine as is. Maybe try adjusting your taste buds? 😂

    2. User avatar franchesca.rippin1955 says:

      2 stars
More salt? Seriously? I think you’re just used to stuff being super salty. These muffins are meant to have a nice balance!

  18. User avatar marth.graham89 says:

    2 stars
These are definitely not muffins, more like cheesy bread in a cup lol.

    1. User avatar Anne T. Lope says:

      4 stars
It’s true, they do taste more like savory bread than traditional muffins! But they’re so good, I can’t complain! 😋

  19. User avatar adrian.tillman58 says:

Why do people use so much flour? I’m no chef, but I don’t get it.

  20. User avatar MAGA2024.Trumpster says:

    3 stars
I dunno, they were okay but a bit too salty for my taste. Maybe lay off the cheese next time?

  21. User avatar herman.funk28 says:

    2 stars
I dunno, mine came out kinda dry. Maybe too much flour? I followed the recipe tho.

    1. 4 stars
Yeah, too much flour can definitely make them dry. Did you measure it properly? I always fluff it first to get a more accurate amount.

  22. 2 stars
Your instructions are confusing! Are we supposed to mix the cheese in wet or dry? Didn’t turn out well for me. 🙁

  23. User avatar glenn.herzog36 says:

    3 stars
Just ok, but I think they could use more flavor. Add garlic next time!

  24. User avatar Saruman the White says:

    3 stars
They were good but sorta hard to get out of the tin. More butter next time!

  25. User avatar desirae.fay21 says:

    4 stars
Uhhh… I forgot the herbs. Still tasted fine, but I feel like I missed out. Next time for sure!

  26. User avatar Restless Draugr says:

    5 stars
These muffins are freakin amazing! I added some jalapeños for a kick and they turned out perfect!

    1. 2 stars
Really? Jalapeños? That seems kinda strange for muffins. I don’t know if I would like that. 🤔

    2. User avatar zelda.medhurst says:

      5 stars
That sounds like an awesome twist! I never thought about adding jalapeños to muffins, but I’m definitely trying it next time!

  27. User avatar lynwood.schneider77 says:

    5 stars

  29. User avatar thaddeus.ziemann27 says:

    3 stars
I followed the recipe exactly… kinda dry. Maybe I overbaked??

  30. User avatar yoshiko.schoen says:

    5 stars
Yum! I added some bacon bits and they were even better. 10/10 would make again!

    1. User avatar Android 17 says:

      5 stars
Bacon bits? Genius! I never thought of that. Gonna try it next time! 😊

    2. 3 stars
Really? Bacon in muffins? That sounds kinda weird to me. But hey, if it works for you! 🤷‍♂️

  31. User avatar Wonko the Sane says:
