If you’re craving something indulgent and impressive, Seafood Stuffed Cannelloni is a perfect choice. This Italian-inspired dish blends tender pasta tubes with a savory seafood filling and a creamy sauce that’s baked to golden perfection.
The magic starts with the filling, a mix of finely chopped shrimp and crabmeat combined with ricotta cheese, garlic, lemon zest, and fresh herbs. The seafood adds a delicate sweetness, while the ricotta keeps everything rich and smooth. You can also add a pinch of chili flakes or a splash of white wine for an extra layer of flavor.
Once the cannelloni tubes are filled, they’re nestled in a baking dish with a light béchamel sauce infused with Parmesan and a touch of nutmeg. The final touch is a generous sprinkle of mozzarella or more Parmesan on top before it goes into the oven. As it bakes, the pasta softens, the filling sets, and the top becomes deliciously golden and bubbly.
This dish is ideal for special dinners or when you want to impress guests. Serve it with a simple green salad and a crisp white wine, like Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc, for a restaurant-quality meal at home.
You can make it ahead of time and store it in the fridge before baking—perfect for entertaining or meal prep. Whether you’re a seafood lover or just looking for a twist on classic Italian comfort food, this Seafood Stuffed Cannelloni is a must-try.

I had issues with the cannelloni breaking while cooking. Any tips?
Filled with seafood? Uhhh, are you sure that’s what most people like? What about just cheese and spinach?
Cheese and spinach is good too, but seafood adds a whole new level of flavor! You should try it before judging! 🍤👍
I totally get where you’re coming from! Not everyone loves seafood, but this combo can be amazing if you give it a try. Maybe add some cheese on top? 😋
Could not find cannelloni tubes anywhere! Used large shells instead. Still tasted good!
This was absolutely delicious! Perfect for a family dinner. I added extra cheese 😍. Will make again!
Great idea! But I used chicken instead. A bit different but still tasty!
My kids loved it! Stuffed shells with fishy stuff? Who woulda thought? 😂
Yum! 😋
This looks amazing! Can’t wait to try it! 😍
Made it for my friends and they loved it. But like, it took me ages to fill the tubes!
Tasted amazing! I had to use tuna instead of scallops but it turned out great. Thanks!
Instructions are too complicated. I just dumped everything in a pot. Still tasted ok tho.
But you missed out on the proper way to make it! Did you even cook the seafood first? 🤔
Hey, as long as it tasted good! Cooking is all about having fun, right?
I forgot to buy the basil and parsley. Can I use dried instead?
Too much work for my taste. And do we really need all those fancy cheeses?
Yummy!
I tried this yesterday, and it was sooo good! Even my kids who never eat seafoode liked it.
Yummm! Cannelloni is the best pasta! I added more cheese tho, because cheese is life!
More cheese is always a good idea! Love the extra flavor it brings to the dish. Can’t wait to try this recipe!
Who needs fancy food? Just throw some shrimp on anything and it taste great!
Hmmm I’m skeptical about cooking cannelloni tubes then baking only 30 minutes. Could be fine for pre-cooked tubes, but mine didn’t quite soak up the sauce.
I tried this, and honestly, it wasn’t that great. The seafood was a bit too fishy for my taste. Maybe I did something wrong?
Why is there seafood in pasta? This is just wrong! No thanks.
It’s alright but I prefer meat in my pasta. Seafood and pasta… not a good combo in my opinion. Just saying!
Was honestly disappointed. The cannelloni turned mushy and the filling was bland.
I don’t know about this. The seafood part seems too much. Can I just use chicken instead?
I’ve never heard of seafood in cannelloni. Isn’t it too fishy?
I thought the same before trying it! It’s actually really flavorful and not too fishy at all. Give it a shot!
Sounds weird tbh. Seafood and pasta? Never seen that before. What if it tastes gross?
Wow, I never thought to put seafood in cannelloni! This is going to impress my friends at dinner. Thanks!
Seafood mixed with pasta? I aint sure about that. Sounds weird but maybe worth a try…
Seems complicated. Can I just do this with regular pasta? Seems easier.
Too salty for my taste. I would cut down on the salt for sure next time.
Too complicated! Why stuff when you can just cook it separately? 🙁
This dish was a huge hit with my family! The seafood and cheese combo is divine.
Made it twice already!
I didn’t have some ingredients, so I used chicken instead. Still decent!
For anyone wondering: don’t over-salt if your parmesan is salty. I accidentally salted a little too much, but once mixed with ricotta it balanced.
Great tip! Parmesan varies a lot—mixing it into the ricotta definitely helps. I’ve definitely had the “why is this so salty?” moment with Italian cheese before 😅
I’m not sure “don’t over-salt” is enough though—shouldn’t you skip salt entirely until after tasting? Also 180°C for 30 min seems kinda short for cannelloni.
This seems too complicated. Can’t I just use store-bought filling? Plus, what’s with all the herbs?
This is definitely a keeper! The combo of seafood and cheese is fantastic.
Not bad at all! I used thawed frozen seafood mix and it worked great. Next time I’ll add a pinch of chili flakes for a little kick, but overall solid.
Yum! My grandma used to make something similar, but I think she used crab. Still, this was good!
That’s awesome! Crab would be such a nice twist! I’m glad you liked it! 🙂
Why didn’t you just use fresh tomatoes instead of canned? Makes no sense!
Fresh tomatoes can be pretty watery though, right? Canned ones give a nice richness to the sauce. I think it’s okay!
I dunno about that. I think canned is easier and tastes fine too. Who’s got time to chop fresh all the time?
Made this last night and it turned out super comforting. The seafood filling is really flavorful and the ricotta keeps it creamy. I baked mine 5 minutes longer to get a deeper golden top.
Yummy!! I added some extra cheese and garlic. My kids loved it! Definitely a keeper 🦐❤️
Extra cheese and garlic? That’s genius! My kids are picky eaters, but I gotta try that too! 🦐✨
Mine was a bit watery—maybe I didn’t drain the cannelloni enough? Still tasted good though. The sauce is simple and tasty, but I might reduce it next time.
Totally possible—if the cannelloni weren’t drained well or the seafood mixture was a little looser, you’d get that watery puddle. Next time, try draining longer and letting the filling sit 5-10 min before piping.
I had the same issue once. I now spread the tubes on a towel after draining. Also make sure you don’t over-sauce it—your sauce sounds good, but less liquid helps.
Love this recipe! But I crunched my cannelloni in 10 mins lol, they were really hard.
This was soooo good! My family loved it!
Easy to follow, but I added some chili flakes for a kick. Loved it! 🌶️
Seafood and cheese? Sounds kinda weird. How do those flavors mix? 🤔
Chili flakes, great idea! I never thought of that. I usually keep it simple. Thanks for the tip! 😊
OMG!!! So good, I can’t even!!! Can someone pass the recipe to my grandma? She needs to know this!
I can’t even, this was too much work and dirty dishes, but it tasted amazing.
I don’t know about mixing seafood with pasta.. Seems weird. But it actually turned out good! Surprised me.
I was skeptical at first too! But honestly, it was a game changer. Seafood and pasta can be a delicious combo!
I’m not a fancy cook, but this was easy. I didn’t have a piping bag so I just used a spoon—still looked good. Family loved it.
Easy to follow, but I didn’t have half the herbs. Just used oregano instead, still worked!
I think oregano is a great substitute! Sometimes you have to make do with what you got. Glad it turned out well! 😊
But the recipe calls for specific herbs! Isn’t that important for flavor? I wouldn’t mess with it. 🤔
This was AMAZING! The flavors were so rich and delicious. Will definitely make again.
I’m so glad you loved it! The seafood really makes this dish pop! I can’t wait to try it myself!
Sounds fancy, but is it really that good? I mean, seafood in pasta sounds heavy. 🤔
This recipe was a total hit! The seafood flavor was rich and delicious. Will make again!
I’m glad you loved it! This recipe is seriously a game changer for seafood lovers. Can’t wait to try it myself.
Too complicated for me, I prefer simpler recipes. Gonna skip this one.
This one is actually not that hard! Just follow the steps. But sure, if you don’t wanna bother, I get it.
I get what you mean! Some recipes can be super long. I like to keep it simple too. Maybe try just pasta with butter or something?
Me and my girlfriend love making this together. Cooking is so fun!
Cooking together is the best! This recipe sounds delicious! Can’t wait to try it with my partner too.
Absolutely delicious! My family loved it! Will definitely make again.
Looks good, but I don’t like seafood… can it be made with chicken instead?
So glad to hear that! This dish is a family favorite for sure! 🍝
Yummy! I added some chili flakes for extra kick. My family loved it!
Tried it last night. The flavors are just wow! Will make again.
Absolutely delicious! My family loved it, and the seafood was so fresh. Will definitely make this again!
Just okay. Nothing special about it. I prefer my cannelloni with meat sauce.
I found this kind of tricky. Cannelloni tubes were hard to fill, and I prefer a different kind of stuffing.
I tried this recipe but I didn’t like it much. The seafood was too fishy for me. Not my cup of tea.
Too fishy? I love seafood! But I guess it’s not for everyone. Have you tried using chicken instead?
Sorry to hear you didn’t like it! Maybe try a different recipe without seafood next time? There are plenty out there!
This turned out absolutely delicious! I even added some extra shrimp, and my family loved it!
I had some problems with the cannelloni breaking while I cooked them. Any tips?
This was simple and yummy! Perfect for dinner. Thanks for sharing.
Wasn’t a fan of the seafood mix. I only like prawns. Next time I’ll just use shrimp.
This recipe is a total hit! The seafood filling was amazing and so flavorful. Will definitely make it again!
I totally agree! The seafood filling was the best part. Can’t wait to serve this at my next dinner party!
Sounds great, but isn’t cannelloni hard to make? Never tried it. How do you get the seafood inside the tubes without it spilling out?
I thought the cooking time was too short for cannelloni. Mine were a little chewy, even with melted cheese. Great idea, but I’d recommend checking doneness earlier or baking longer.
Totally agree—30 min at 180°C wasn’t enough for me either. I ended up baking closer to 45 and the tubes actually softened. Chewy cannelloni is the worst 😂
Huh, I had the opposite happen. Mine turned out fine at 30 min… maybe your seafood was bigger pieces? I also covered the dish with foil for the first 20.
Wow, this is a fancy dish! But do you think it would work with chicken instead?
Chicken? Really? That’s not the same! Seafood is special for this dish. Just follow the recipe!
I think chicken would totally work! Just make sure to season it well. Can’t wait to try this with chicken!
Recipe’s total lie! I used way less seafood and it was still fine! Don’t need all that.
This looks like a lot of work. I just use store-bought! Who has time to fill those tubes?
Who has time? I don’t! I just grab a frozen one from the store. Much easier and you still get seafood!
Cooking from scratch is the best! It’s worth the effort for a meal like this. Store-bought just can’t compare.
This recipe looks fancy but took me forever to make. I think I’ll stick to simpler pasta dishes.
Seafood? Not for me. Allergic to shellfish. Looks nice tho! 🤷♂️
Seafood and cheese? Really? Not sure how I feel about that combo.
The combination of ricotta + seafood + parmesan is honestly genius. Tastes like restaurant food. Will definitely make again for guests.
Yuck! We don’t like seafood in our house. Never going to make this again. Disappointed! 😡
Wow!!! So good. Made it for my date, and they were super impressed.
Pretty good, but I’d double the mozzarella. Like… I love cheese and 1/2 cup just wasn’t enough coverage for me. Sauce-to-pasta ratio could be improved.
Totally agree on the mozzarella—1/2 cup disappears fast. Next time I’m doing a thicker top layer and maybe a little extra parm too for browning.
5 stars easy. Also the basil makes it smell amazing. 😍
Skeptical about seafood in pasta. Don’t think it belongs there. But the recipe did come out pretty good.
