Ravioli lasagna is the perfect solution for when you want the comforting layers of traditional lasagna but without all the time-consuming preparation. This dish takes the best parts of lasagna — the rich tomato sauce, creamy cheese, and savory fillings — and swaps the usual noodles for store-bought ravioli, making it a delicious and quick alternative that still captures all the flavors you love. It’s a crowd-pleasing dish that’s ideal for weeknight dinners or casual family gatherings.
The beauty of ravioli lasagna lies in its simplicity. Instead of the typical lasagna noodles, you use ravioli, which come pre-filled with a variety of options. You can choose from classic cheese-filled ravioli, meat ravioli, or even spinach and ricotta, depending on your preferences. This adds an extra layer of flavor and texture to the lasagna, making it both filling and full of character.
The layers of ravioli are nestled between a rich marinara sauce, often made from scratch or your favorite jarred version, and a creamy mixture of ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. The tomato sauce brings a tangy, savory element that contrasts beautifully with the richness of the cheese filling. A bit of garlic, onions, and Italian seasoning in the sauce enhances the flavor, creating a base that’s both aromatic and satisfying.
As the ravioli bake, they absorb the flavors of the sauce, making them incredibly tender and flavorful. The cheese mixture melts and combines with the sauce, creating a creamy, gooey texture that binds the dish together. A final sprinkle of mozzarella on top creates a beautifully golden, bubbly crust that adds a delicious layer of crispiness.
Ravioli lasagna is incredibly versatile. You can add cooked ground beef, sausage, or even grilled vegetables for extra depth of flavor. Fresh herbs like basil or parsley can be sprinkled on top just before serving to add a pop of color and freshness.
This dish is a perfect option for anyone who loves lasagna but is looking for a quicker, easier version that doesn’t skimp on flavor. Whether you’re short on time or just craving a cozy, comforting meal, ravioli lasagna is a foolproof way to enjoy all the deliciousness of lasagna in half the time.

This was super easy and tasted amazing! My family loved it. Will make again!
Easy to make, but I thought it was a bit bland. Maybe more spices next time?
I think adding garlic powder or red pepper flakes could really kick it up a notch! 😊
Bland? Nah, it’s delicious! But to each their own, I guess.
Yum! I added some ground beef to mine for extra flavor! Just wow, this is a keeper! 4/5!
Okay so I followed it exactly and mine came out a little watery. I think my marinara was too runny. Still edible, just not as thick as I hoped.
Honestly, I dunno why you’d use frozen ravioli. Just make it from scratch! Taste way better.
Ok but why not cook the ravioli first? I feel like the frozen ones need more time. Mine were softer after baking, but I could tell they were still kinda underdone in the middle.
Honestly I would just cook the ravioli first, like boil them till they’re like 70% done, then layer. The oven times are for regular pasta not thick frozen ones. 30 min + 10 min is kinda low imo, especially at 180°C. Mine also always comes out soft but like, middle still hard. Also I think the temp should be 200°C? idk lol
I get what you mean, but this recipe bakes the ravioli while it’s covered in sauce and cheese—so it should steam/heat through. That said, frozen ravioli thickness/brand varies a lot. If yours were underdone, next time I’d either add 5–10 min more covered, or bake a little longer uncovered. Cooking them first might work too, but then you risk them getting too soft and falling apart in the lasagna layers.
I’m skeptical about using frozen ravioli. Isn’t that cheating? I prefer homemade!
Pretty good but I think I put too much cheese. Is that even possible? lol
Perfect for a busy weeknight! Just pop it in the oven and relax!
Pretty good comfort food, but mine came out a little dry after the extra 10 minutes. Maybe my sauce was thicker or I overbaked. Still tasty!
Didn’t turn out like I hoped. My cheese got burnt. Any tips for next time?
I messed this up so bad, put the cheese on top without cooking the ravioli first. Total disaster.
Don’t worry! It happens to the best of us. Next time, just remember to cook the ravioli first. You’ll get it right!
Recipe says to use frozen ravioli, but I don’t think anything is better than real noodles. That’s just wrong.
I’m skeptical about using frozen ravioli layered like this, but the end result surprised me—no dry parts at all. Good comfort food.
Honestly same—frozen ravioli can sound sketchy for lasagna, but the sauce+cheese sealed it. I’m glad you got zero dry parts!
I don’t know… I tried something like this and mine came out watery. Maybe my marinara was too thin? Also “use your favorite brand” is dangerous 😂 but if it’s no-dry, I might try again.
I mixed up the bake time and it got burnt a little. Still tasted good tho!
Glad it still tasted good! Oven times are tricky sometimes. I always set a timer! 😊
Nope, didn’t like it. The ravioli got too mushy for me. I’ll stick to ‘real’ lasagna.
Yummm! I added some spinach and it was fantastic. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Made this tonight—so easy and it actually tastes like a proper lasagna. The cheese gets all bubbly and the marinara really ties it together. Will repeat!
I made this and it was super easy. Even my husband liked it and he thinks he’s a chef!
That’s awesome! I’m glad it turned out well for you. Ravioli lasagna is such a fun twist on the classic!
Wait, did you really say your husband thinks he’s a chef? LOL! Hope he doesn’t start charging for meals now! 😄
180C is maybe too hot? I over-browned the top in my oven. Next time I’ll do 160C. Otherwise pretty good.
