Citrus Crumble

July 18, 2025

Citrus Crumble is a zesty, refreshing twist on the classic crumble dessert, combining the bright, tangy flavors of citrus fruits with a warm, buttery crumble topping. This dessert is perfect for those who love the balance of sweet and tart, and it’s a great way to showcase seasonal citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, and grapefruits.

The beauty of Citrus Crumble lies in its simplicity. The citrus filling, often made from a blend of citrus zest and juice, brings a natural sweetness with a punch of acidity, making it refreshing and satisfying. When baked, the citrus transforms into a luscious, fragrant filling that pairs beautifully with the crunchy, buttery crumble topping.

The crumble itself is golden and crumbly, providing just the right contrast to the smooth, juicy citrus. With just a few basic ingredients like flour, butter, and sugar, the topping turns crispy in the oven, creating that perfect texture you crave in every bite. Whether you use a classic combination of orange and lemon or experiment with other citrus varieties, the result is always vibrant and bursting with flavor.

What makes Citrus Crumble so special is its versatility. You can easily adjust the sweetness of the filling depending on the fruit and your preference, adding a bit of honey or sugar to balance the tartness. You can even throw in a handful of berries or other fruits to complement the citrus, making the crumble even more dynamic.

This dessert is perfect for any occasion, whether it’s a light finish to a weeknight dinner or a showstopper for a special gathering. It’s also great for meal prepping or making ahead, as it stores well in the fridge and can be enjoyed either warm or cold. Whether paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream, Citrus Crumble is a delightful treat for all citrus lovers.
