Peach Cobbler

March 19, 2025

Peach cobbler is a beloved, comforting dessert that captures the essence of summer with its sweet, juicy peaches and warm, biscuit-like topping. The soft, golden crust is the perfect contrast to the tender, cinnamon-spiced peaches beneath, making this dessert a crowd-pleaser at family gatherings, barbecues, or a cozy evening at home. Its simplicity and homey appeal have made it a classic treat enjoyed by generations.

To prepare peach cobbler, fresh or frozen peaches are typically tossed with a touch of sugar and cinnamon, allowing the fruit to release its natural juices and create a syrupy filling. The magic happens when the fruit mixture is topped with dollops of biscuit dough, which bakes into a golden, slightly crumbly crust. The result is a warm, comforting dessert with a balance of sweet, tart peaches and a soft, biscuit-like topping.

The beauty of peach cobbler lies in its versatility. It can be served on its own or paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of freshly whipped cream to add extra richness. For a slightly decadent twist, drizzle some caramel sauce over the top. The cobbler can be made in a large baking dish for sharing or in individual ramekins for a personal touch.

This dessert is not only perfect for summer but also easily adapted for year-round enjoyment. In the winter months, you can use canned or frozen peaches, so you can enjoy the flavors of summer even when the weather is colder. Whether you’re hosting a gathering or simply craving a sweet treat, peach cobbler is always a good choice to satisfy your dessert cravings.

Easy recipe! I used canned peaches because that’s all I had, and it worked out fine! Yum! 🍑👌

  2. 2 stars
It was ok, but I prefer mine with a crumbly top instead of this batter. Maybe I’ll try tweaking it!

I don’t know, my cobbler turned out way too sweet. I think maybe a cup of sugar is too much? 🤨

Easy to make but I think you could use frozen peaches too if fresh ain’t available.

  8. 4 stars
Honestly, I was skeptical about the batter not mixing, but it turned out pretty good. I added some cinnamon and it gave it a nice twist!

  9. 2 stars
I don’t know… it didn’t turn out like the picture. Maybe my peaches weren’t ripe enough? Idk. Disappointing.

  10. User avatar elias.kihn37 says:

    3 stars
Too sweet for my taste. I think maybe cut back on the sugar? But the peaches were nice. Just not my thing.

I don’t get why everyone loves this so much. Mine turned out way too sweet. Maybe I added too much sugar?

    1. User avatar claretha.mitchell says:

Sweet? Mine was perfect! Maybe you should pay more attention to measurements next time.

    2. User avatar Spriggan says:

I agree, it can be really sweet! I usually cut the sugar by at least a quarter and it helps a lot. Give it another try! 🙂

  13. 3 stars
It was okay. The butter was too much. Next time I won’t pour it all in. Just slices of peach, y’know?

  14. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    4 stars
I love peach cobbler, but I added cinnamon and nutmeg for a kick! Tasted great! 🔥

Just a quick question, can I use frozen peaches? Or will it mess things up?

  17. User avatar clinton.schmidt67 says:

    2 stars
I dunno, maybe I did something wrong? The batter was too thick and didn’t rise at all.

  18. User avatar chae.gusikowski36 says:

Why do you put the batter over the butter? Doesn’t that sound weird? I did it the same way but felt confused. Tasted okay tho.

    1. User avatar Bethann Erdman says:

      4 stars
It’s actually a common technique! The butter helps to create a crispy edge. Don’t worry, you’re not alone in feeling confused about it at first. Glad it tasted good!

I really struggled to get the batter right. Ugh, I thought it was gonna be easy! Anyone else have issues?

    1. User avatar del.schoen7 says:

It’s peach cobbler, how hard can it be? Just follow the steps! 😂

  32. User avatar beryl.jones68 says:

Not really feeling the whole batter on top thing. My cobbler usually has more dough.

    1. User avatar warren.rutherford61 says:

      4 stars
I get what you mean! I also prefer a thicker dough. This recipe is different but still yummy.

  33. 4 stars
Yum! Just right amount of sweetness. I added a pinch of cinnamon and it was perfect. 😍

  34. 3 stars
I don’t know how it would work with no self-rising flour. Could I just use normal flour and add baking powder instead?

    1. User avatar donnell.jerde says:

      2 stars
I dunno, sounds complicated. Why not just get the self-rising flour? It’s easier, right?

    2. User avatar devon.heller99 says:

      5 stars
Yes, you can totally use regular flour with baking powder. Just add about 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder for every cup of flour. Should work fine!

  35. User avatar domenic.toy48 says:

    2 stars
I tried this recipe, but it came out too watery. Maybe I added too much sugar? I dunno, but it wasn’t like the pic.
