Parmesan Crusted Salmon is a simple yet elegant dish that combines the rich, tender flavor of salmon with a crispy, cheesy crust. This easy-to-make recipe results in a perfectly cooked salmon fillet that’s flavorful on the outside, thanks to the golden-brown, Parmesan-encrusted crust, while remaining moist and flaky on the inside. Whether you’re cooking for a special occasion or a weeknight dinner, this dish is sure to impress with its delightful balance of textures and savory flavors.
The key to Parmesan Crusted Salmon is the coating. A mixture of grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, and a hint of garlic and herbs gives the salmon a satisfying crunch and an irresistible golden crust. The sharp, salty flavor of the Parmesan complements the richness of the salmon, making every bite a savory experience. A touch of lemon zest or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice adds a bright, citrusy note that enhances the overall flavor of the dish.
Preparing Parmesan Crusted Salmon is straightforward and quick. After seasoning the salmon fillets, you coat them with the Parmesan and breadcrumb mixture, pressing it gently into the fish to form an even crust. Then, simply bake or pan-sear the fillets until the crust is golden and the salmon is cooked to your desired level of doneness. The result is a beautifully crispy exterior with a tender, flaky interior that pairs wonderfully with a variety of sides.
Parmesan Crusted Salmon can be served with a variety of side dishes. It pairs beautifully with roasted vegetables, a fresh green salad, or creamy mashed potatoes for a satisfying meal. For a lighter option, serve it alongside quinoa or steamed asparagus. The versatility of this dish makes it a perfect choice for any occasion, from casual family dinners to elegant dinner parties.

Wow just wow. This is going to be a regular at my dinner table. Thanks for sharing!
I think my oven runs hot because mine overbrowned at around 10 minutes. Flavor was good, but I’d watch it closely. Next time I’ll start checking earlier.
Idk my oven never runs hot 😅 but maybe yours. I’d try lowering to like 375°F for the same cook time if the crust browns too quick.
Good call. Ovens do run hot, and that topping can go from golden to overbrowned fast. I usually start checking at 10 minutes too—especially with thinner fillets.
I tried this and my family loved it! But I accidentally used too much garlic powder. Oops. Still tasted good!
Parmesan and salmon? Sounds weird. I didn’t try it, but why mix cheese with fish?
I thought it was odd too at first, but trust me, it works! The cheese adds a nice crispy texture and flavor to the salmon.
Tasted alright, but I guess I’m not a fan of salmon. My partner loved it tho!
Lol, I can’t imagine not liking salmon! It’s super tasty. You should give it another chance, maybe grill it instead?
I get it! Salmon isn’t for everyone. It’s awesome that your partner liked it though. Maybe try a different fish next time?
I don’t know about the breadcrumbs, could it work without? Just don’t see the point.
Parmesan and salmon? Weird combo, man. Didn’t like it.
Followed the recipe step by step but my salmon came out dry. Maybe I cooked it too long?
Ok recipe but 1/2 cup parmesan felt like a lot for 4 fillets—ended up a thick layer. It was fine though. Family liked it.
Yeah I agree—1/2 cup for 4 fillets is pretty generous. I usually scale it down a bit or just make sure the topping isn’t too packed. Glad yours still turned out tasty though!
I don’t like fish but my husband loved it. I guess it’s okay…
Really easy to make but it tastes kinda plain to me. Maybe add some spices?
Made this for the fam, and they loved it! Will be making again!
Didn’t have breadcrumbs, used cornflakes instead. Surprisingly worked!
Super easy and tasty. I added some chili flakes for a bit of kick and it was amazing!
This recipe is a lie. My salmon turned out dry and flavorless. Disappointing.
Absolutely loved this! The flavors are just perfect. Definitely a keeper!
I think the salmon was a bit overcooked. Not sure if it was my fault or the timings.
This is one of those recipes that tastes fancy for how little effort it is. Olive oil + press + bake = perfect.
Totally agree—this is such a “looks restaurant, tastes amazing” situation. The parmesan crust gets so golden fast at 400°F.
I tried it once and it turned out pretty good, but I think my topping was too thick and didn’t brown as nicely. Maybe I pressed too hard lol. Still tasty though.
I’m not a big salmon person, but this crust had me going back for another bite. Would definitely make again for an easy weeknight meal.
Super easy and quick to make! Will make again for sure.👍
Easy to make, but I thought it needed more seasoning. Maybe some paprika next time? 🧐
Simply delicious! Will add more garlic next time! 😋
Garlic is life! Can’t wait to try this with more garlic! 🧄❤️
Adding garlic? Isn’t that too much? Salmon already has a strong flavor.
I made this and it was WAY too salty. Maybe my cheese was salty or something, idk. Can’t recommend.
This is super easy and tastes fancy for the time. My topping was a bit thick on one fillet but still came out great. 400°F for 13 minutes worked perfectly for my 6 oz pieces.
Yes! 400°F and 13 minutes is spot on for 6 oz pieces. I love that it tastes “fancy” but doesn’t require any effort 😄
Parmesan salmon? Sounds weird. I don’t think I will try this. Not a fan of fish.
Yum! Salmon is my favorite fish! Great recipe!! 🍣
Yum! I added some Cajun spice for a kick, turned out great!
Yum! This was so good. My whole family devoured it! Thanks for sharing!!!
I’m glad your family loved it! It’s one of my favorites too!
I tried it but the salmon was kinda dry. Maybe I cooked it too long? Idk.
It happens! Salmon can dry out easily if cooked too long. Maybe try reducing the time next time! Good luck! 🙂
You probably overcooked it. 12-15 mins should be perfect, but every oven is different. Maybe check it a bit earlier next time?
I don’t get how this can be healthy with so much cheese. I prefer my salmon grilled, not baked.
