Olive puffs are a delightful, savory treat that’s perfect for any gathering or snack craving. These little bites are made with buttery, flaky puff pastry wrapped around tangy olives, offering a satisfying combination of textures and flavors. Whether served as appetizers at a party, a fun addition to a tapas spread, or just enjoyed with a glass of wine, olive puffs are sure to impress.
The key to making delicious olive puffs lies in the simplicity of the ingredients. Puff pastry is the base, providing a crisp, golden exterior that pairs wonderfully with the tender, briny olives inside. You can use green or black olives, depending on your personal preference. Stuffing the olives with a bit of cheese, such as feta or cream cheese, adds richness and enhances the flavor, making each bite even more irresistible.
To make these savory puffs, start by rolling out the puff pastry and cutting it into small squares or rectangles. Place an olive (or a stuffed olive) in the center of each square and fold the pastry over to create a little pocket. You can seal the edges with a fork or simply press them together to ensure they stay closed during baking. Brush each puff with an egg wash for a golden, shiny finish.
Once baked, the result is a crispy, flaky bite with the tangy punch of the olive inside. The buttery pastry creates a perfect balance with the saltiness of the olives, making for a snack that’s both satisfying and full of flavor.
Olive puffs are incredibly versatile and can be adapted to suit your taste. You can experiment with different types of olives, add herbs like rosemary or thyme, or even include a small slice of ham or prosciutto for an added savory touch. They can be served warm or at room temperature, making them a convenient option for any occasion.
These olive puffs are quick and easy to make, requiring just a few simple ingredients, and they always look and taste impressive. Whether you’re hosting a party or looking for a delicious snack, these savory bites are a must-try!

These were a hit at my party! Everyone loved them and they were so easy to make. Will definitely make again!
I don’t get why people love olives so much. Tried these and just wasn’t for me. Too salty maybe?
Easy recipe but can you use other stuff besides olives? My kids dont like olives 🙁
Olive puff thingy is okay, I guess. Didn’t blow my mind.
Seriously? How can olive puffs be ‘okay’? They are amazing! Perfect for parties, but maybe you just don’t like olives.
I think it’s a fun appetizer! Maybe you just need to add some spices or dip to make it better. I love how easy it is to make!
Olives and pastry? YUCK. Who thought this was a good idea? Not for me! 🤢
Super simple recipe but I feel like something is missing. Maybe cheese would make it better?
Do I really need to use an egg wash? I don’t think it made a difference for me.
Meh. They were ok, I guess. Didn’t really impress me or my husband. But at least they looked nice.
WOW so good! I added garlic powder to the egg wash and it made them even better!!!
I just made these with my kids and they turned out fab! Kids even helped wrap the olives, so fun!
Olive puffs are the best! Perfect for snacks! Thanks for sharing!
I totally agree! They’re so easy to make and super tasty. Perfect for parties too!
These were a hit at the party! So easy to make and everyone loved them. Will def make again!
Is there a vegan version? I can’t eat eggs.
You could use aquafaba instead of eggs! It works great as a binding agent. 😊
I don’t think you can make it without eggs… It’s called Olive Puffs for a reason, right? 🤔
These didn’t go well with my diet plan. Can you please make a healthy version? Thanks.
You could try using whole wheat pastry for a healthier option!
SO GOOD! 😍 I can’t believe how simple yet delish they are!
Easy peasy! But I added some garlic powder and wowza, delish! 🌟
These were a hit at my party! So easy to make and everyone loved them. Will definitely make again!
I think I messed up somehow. My puffs turned out soggy… Any tips?
Not sure why these got so much hype. I found them kinda bland… maybe add some spices?
I agree with you! They definitely need a kick. Paprika or chili flakes could really amp them up. 🌶️
Bland!? These are so good, they don’t need anything else. Maybe you just made them wrong? 🤔
My grandma used to make something like this, but with cheese. I think that would be better!
I love puff pastry! But why not use black olives? They’re tastier!
I dunno, green olives are the classic choice. Black ones might make it weird, right?
Black olives do have a richer flavor, but green olives give a nice tang! It’s all about personal taste. 😊
I tried making this for my kids but they didn’t like them. Guess olives aren’t their thing.
What do you mean green olives? Can I use black olives? Or they be different? 🤔
I tried making this and my dough was all soggy. What did I do wrong? 😕
I thought I messed up the baking time but they came out perfect! Yay! 🙂
These are AMAZING! So easy to make and they taste fantastic! Definitely a hit at my party!
So glad to hear they were a hit! I’ve been looking for easy party snacks, thanks for sharing! 😊
Seriously, 200°C? Isn’t that too hot? My oven burns everything! Shoulda went lower.
