Asparagus Frittata

April 30, 2026

Asparagus Frittata is a light, yet satisfying dish that’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a quick dinner. With tender asparagus, fluffy eggs, and a sprinkle of cheese, this frittata is both flavorful and easy to make. It’s a great way to enjoy fresh spring vegetables and is highly customizable, whether you add herbs, other vegetables, or your favorite cheese, this frittata is a versatile dish that’s always delicious.

The key to a perfect asparagus frittata is the balance of creamy eggs and crisp-tender asparagus. To prepare, asparagus is sautéed briefly to soften it before being mixed with beaten eggs, salt, and pepper. The eggs are poured over the asparagus, and the frittata is cooked gently on the stovetop until set, then finished under the broiler for a golden, slightly crisp top. The result is a beautifully tender frittata with perfectly cooked asparagus and a rich egg base.

For added flavor, you can mix in a variety of ingredients such as sautéed onions, garlic, or mushrooms, or sprinkle in some grated cheese like Parmesan, mozzarella, or goat cheese. Fresh herbs like basil, thyme, or parsley can also be added for a burst of freshness. If you’re looking for a heartier dish, you can incorporate some cooked potatoes, bacon, or even a handful of spinach to round out the frittata.

Asparagus Frittata is incredibly versatile and can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature, making it a great dish for meal prep. It’s a fantastic way to use up leftover vegetables, and because it’s made with eggs, it’s a good source of protein, making it a filling and nutritious option. Serve it with a side salad or a slice of crusty bread for a complete meal.

This frittata is not only delicious but also easy to customize depending on what’s in season or what you have on hand. Whether you’re serving it for brunch with friends or enjoying a quiet breakfast at home, Asparagus Frittata is a simple, flavorful dish that brings the fresh taste of spring to your table. Pair with simple green salad.

I tried this recipe and it was alright, but a bit too eggy for my liking. Maybe less eggs next time?

Frittata did not turn out well for me. Too eggy? Or too much soggy asparagus? Not sure.

  3. 2 stars
Is it supposed to be this runny? Mine never set 🙁

Can I use frozen asparagus? I can’t find fresh ones where I live. Also, my frittata turned out a bit runny.

Ugh, I don’t like asparagus! Can I use broccoli instead? I’m not a veggie person.

    1. User avatar carola.jacobson43 says:

      4 stars
You can totally use broccoli! It’ll change the flavor a bit but still good!

    2. 3 stars
Broccoli is not the same as asparagus. Why not just try the asparagus? You might like it!

I don’t know, it seems too simple to be good. Plus, why do you need milk? Isn’t that just a waste?

Frittata? Isn’t that like Quiche but without the crust? 🤔

  22. User avatar jae.dietrich61 says:

Why do you have to put it in the oven? Can’t you just cook it on the stovetop? Seems like a waste of time.

    1. User avatar delfina.gerhold1996 says:

      4 stars
Cooking it in the oven gives that nice golden top and fluffy texture! Stovetop won’t do that right. 😄

Asparagus? Really? Weird choice of veggie for a frittata.

    1. 5 stars
I think asparagus is a great veggie! It adds a unique flavor to the frittata. Give it a try! 😊

    2. 2 stars
Asparagus in a frittata? That’s kinda weird, I’ve only seen spinach or mushrooms. Not sure about this one.

I was skeptical about adding cream to eggs, but it made it sooo fluffy. Who knew? Thanks!

Honestly, I don’t get the hype. The asparagus was too crunchy for my taste. Maybe it depends on how you cook it?

    1. User avatar dana.larson says:

      3 stars
Crunchy asparagus is good! Better than mushy. 😆 Everyone likes different textures. Maybe you need to adjust your cooking time!

    2. User avatar otelia.rowe25 says:

      4 stars
I totally understand! Asparagus can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. I actually prefer mine a little softer too. Maybe try steaming them a bit before adding to the frittata next time?

  32. User avatar carleen.vandervort45 says:

I don’t like eggs, so I won’t try this. But it looks pretty.

  33. User avatar Falmer Nightprowler says:

I don’t get why people like asparagus. It’s gross. This wasn’t for me.

    1. User avatar dannie.russel2005 says:

I get that asparagus isn’t for everyone, but it’s all about trying new things! Maybe you just had it cooked wrong? This recipe is so good with all those eggs and cheese, you might change your mind!

  34. User avatar kala.hills says:

    Easy and tasty! 🥚✨

  35. 4 stars
I tried it with zucchini instead of asparagus, still turned out great!

  36. User avatar Lee Kshlerin says:

    3 stars
It was good, but I think maybe salt is more important than you said. It was a bit bland for me.

  37. User avatar oPandariaNo says:

This frittata is fantastic! I love how quick and easy it is to make. The cheese adds so much flavor!

    1. User avatar jesse.ryan says:

I totally agree! This recipe is a game changer for busy mornings. 🍳

    2. 3 stars
It’s good, but I think it needs more seasoning. Just cheese and eggs ain’t enough for me.

  38. User avatar Draugr Thrall says:

    4 stars
Mmm! I really liked it, but my kids said it looked weird. What even is a frittata? lol
