For years, McDonald’s Fruit and Yogurt Parfait stood out as a rare gem in the fast-food world, a refreshing, lower-calorie option that felt wholesome without sacrificing flavor. Served in a clear cup layered with creamy vanilla yogurt, sweet strawberries, fresh blueberries, and crunchy granola, this parfait was proof that even the Golden Arches could offer something on the lighter side.
Originally introduced in the early 2000s, the parfait quickly became a favorite for those looking for a quick breakfast, mid-day snack, or dessert alternative that didn’t involve fries or a milkshake. It was part of McDonald’s broader push to include more nutritious options on the menu, and for a while, it hit all the right notes. It was light yet filling, sweet but not cloying, and came in at under 150 calories – making it a standout for calorie-conscious eaters.
The balance of flavors was a big part of its appeal. The yogurt was smooth and slightly tangy, pairing nicely with the burst of berries. The granola added a needed crunch and texture, giving each bite a satisfying contrast. Best of all, it was affordable and easy to grab on the go- making it a popular option for commuters, students, and busy parents alike.
Unfortunately, the Fruit and Yogurt Parfait was quietly discontinued in many locations during the pandemic, as McDonald’s streamlined its menu to focus on core items. The move sparked disappointment among fans who had made it a part of their daily routine. While some locations may still offer it occasionally, it’s no longer a nationwide staple.
Still, the parfait holds a nostalgic place in the hearts of many. It represented a time when fast food felt just a little fresher, a little more balanced. And for those who miss it, recreating a homemade version is as simple as layering yogurt, berries, and granola in a cup, proof that good ideas live on, even after they leave the menu.
In short, McDonald’s Fruit and Yogurt Parfait was a small but beloved offering – a sweet, simple reminder that fast food could be both tasty and light.

I tried this with honey yogurt and it was sooo good! Great recipe!
Yeah, my kids love it! Perfect snack for after school!
Why yogurt? Just eat the fruit! 😆
This recipe is too easy, I’m not convinced it’s that good! 🤔
I thought the same at first, but sometimes simple is best! It tastes really fresh! 🍓
Not sure if this is really a McDonald’s copycat. They use different fruit, right?
You make a good point! McDonald’s does use different fruits sometimes. But this still looks yummy!
Granola is crunchy but I think it gets soggy too fast. Next time I’ll add it just before eating.
Yummy! I put in some honey too, could eat this all day! 🍓
This was suuuper easy! Tasted just like the one from McDonald’s! Thanks!
I love how simple this is! Can’t wait to try it myself!
It was okay, but I think it needs something more. Maybe honey?
I totally agree! A bit of honey would really enhance it. I used maple syrup once, and it was divine!
I don’t know, I think McDonald’s use some kinda special yogurt. Mine didn’t turn out the same.
Uhh, I made it in a bowl. Does that count? Still delicious!
I don’t think bowls are right for parfaits, but hey, if it’s yummy, who cares? 😂
Of course it counts! As long as it tastes good, that’s what matters. 👍
This recipe is way too simple. I expected more steps or something. Disappointing.
I get what you mean, but sometimes simple is best! Not everything needs to be complicated to be tasty. Plus, it’s super quick for busy mornings!
Simple is good! Why complicate things? But I hear ya, more steps would add some flair. Maybe try adding some honey or nuts next time!
I dont even like yogurt but this recipe is really great! 😍
Glad you liked it! Yogurt can be really versatile if you find the right recipe! 😄
This parfait was a hit at my brunch! So easy and delicious! Will make again.
Meh. just plain vanilla yogurt isn’t my thing. Needs flavor!
It was ok. But I feel like it’s missing something. Maybe some honey?
I think honey would be a great addition! It would really add some sweetness. 😊
Homemade parfaits are awesome! Thanks for the easy recipe!
I loved this! Tastes just like McDonald’s, but healthier! Good job!
I mean, it’s just yogurt and fruit, right? Didn’t impress me.
Quick and delish! Perfect for breakfast! 🍓
I made this and my berries were old, lol. It didn’t taste great, so be careful with fresh ingredients!
Why use granola? Just seems unnecessary to me. I skipped it and it was fine.
I think granola adds a nice crunch and extra flavor. But hey, to each their own! Glad you enjoyed it without it!
The measurements are a bit random to me—like 1/4 cup blueberries? Mine were gone immediately 😂 Still delicious, just adjust to your cup size.
Super easy to make! My kids loved it. Definitely a keeper!
I don’t know, maybe I’m just not a yogurt person. It was ok but kinda bland.
This was super easy to make! Tasted just like the real thing. My kids loved it!
delicious !!! i added some bananas too 🍌
This is so good! Tastes just like the real thing!
Granola is too dry for me with yogurt, but I guess that’s the point. Could’ve used less of it and more fruit.
I didn’t have granola so I used crushed cookies instead! 😋
But cookies ain’t healthy like granola tho… You should try it right next time. 🤷♂️
Crushed cookies sound like a fun idea! I’d love to try that variation. 😄
Yogurt parfait? More like yogurt disaster. Granola got all soggy. YUCK!
So quick. Like 5 minutes. Yum!
Right?! I made this and it was basically done before my toast popped. The layers look so good too—thanks for sharing!
5 minutes?? lol maybe if you already have yogurt + berries washed. I tried it and mine got soggy fast though—still tasty.
Came out so good, but the granola was way too crunchy for me.
I agree! The granola can be really hard. Maybe try a softer kind next time?
I thought there was supposed to be more fruit? I added some bananas and it was better!
Bananas are a great idea! I think they add a nice texture. But I wonder if you lose the original flavor of the parfait. Did you try with other fruits too?
This is so easy! Love how it tastes just like the one at McDonald’s.
Yogurt and granola parfait? McDonald’s is better. Sorry, but this didn’t live up to the hype.
I didn’t have fresh strawberries, so I used frozen thawed ones. The flavor was fine but it was a little watery—still good.
Oh nice! Frozen berries always make it a little more watery, so that checks out. Next time maybe drain them a bit or blot with a paper towel before layering—still sounds like you nailed the flavor though!
McDonald’s parfait copycat? Sure, but calling granola 1/4 cup “parfait-worthy” is kinda funny. Still good though.
Yeah I agree—“parfait-worthy” is a bit of marketing talk, but the layers totally hit. Fresh strawberries make it so much better than store-bought.
I tried it, but my granola got soggy fast, like within minutes. Maybe I should toast it or use less yogurt? Either way it tasted good though.
Not gonna lie, I thought this would be more complicated. Also my strawberries were too watery so the bottom layer got runny. Still good though.
Totally get you—this one *is* pretty straightforward. I’m glad it was still good even with watery strawberries! Next time, I’ve found patting the berries dry (or letting them sit on a paper towel) helps keep the layers from getting runny.
Way too much granola for my liking—next time I’ll cut it down to like 2-3 tbsp. Otherwise decent and the fruit is fresh.
Ok recipe, but granola got soggy fast. Maybe not so great. 😐
I totally agree with you! The granola does lose its crunch too quickly. Maybe try adding it right before serving? That might help. 😊
I don’t have fresh strawberries, so I used frozen thawed ones. It was okay but kinda watery—next time I’ll thaw and pat dry.
Thanks for the tip! Frozen fruit always seems to add extra juice. Thawing and patting dry makes total sense—I’ll try that next time.
I tried frozen strawberries once… mine was watery too lol. But I just mixed in a little more granola and it helped? Or maybe I didn’t thaw all the way.
Isn’t parfait just a fancy word for pudding? 🤔
Like, fruit and yogurt is a good combo and this is a good recipe!!
Made this for breakfast and it felt kinda fancy. The berries + granola combo is perfect. Will repeat!
I forgot to buy granola, so I used crushed cookies instead. Oops! Still yum tho.
👍
Too much yogurt. I prefer less creamy, tbh.
Is this really like McDonald’s? I don’t remember them using yogurt…
Question: do you put the yogurt on the top last or does it matter? I kinda mixed mine and it was still fine. Might be lazy but whatever.
Followed it exactly and it came out pretty close. I’d just toast the granola for a minute so it stays extra crunchy—still great though.
Yogurt parfaits are not a real meal! This is a snack at best. You should eat real food.
A parfait can totally be a meal! It has yogurt, fruit, and granola which are healthy. Give it a try before judging!
Anyone know if I can use frozen berries? Don’t wanna get fresh ones often.
I made this for breakfast, but it was kinda bland. More flavor needed!
I actually added a bit of honey and some cinnamon to mine. It made a huge difference! Give that a try next time!
Wow, this is super easy! My kids loved it. They think I’m a chef now! 😂
That’s awesome! 😄 It’s such a great way to get kids to eat fruits. They won’t even know it’s healthy!
I used Greek yogurt because that’s what I had and it was thicker, which I liked. I’d still follow the layering idea though.
Granola ruins it if you do it wrong lol. Otherwise meh… 3 maybe.
The measurements feel kinda random (1/4 cup here, 1/2 there) but it worked. Next time I’ll probably add a bit more fruit because I like it fruity.
I tried this but it was way too sweet for me, I think I’ll leave out some yogurt next time.
Honestly? 5 minutes and you get breakfast. I don’t even care that it’s a “copycat,” it’s just good.
I’m just here for the granola, the rest is just fluff… literally.
I added banana and honey, turned out delish! Thanks for the idea!
That’s a great twist! Banana and honey add a nice sweetness! 😍
This is dangerously easy. I made it in a mason jar and it tasted way fresher than the one I usually buy.
The ingredient list says 1/4 cup blueberries and 1/4 cup granola, but my parfait cup was like full to the top even with only half layers?? Maybe my cup is bigger? Still yummy though.
I’m not sure it’s “McDonald’s” without their exact yogurt and granola. Also my strawberries were a little sour, so it threw it off.
I tried this but my granola got soggy immediately even though I served right away. Maybe my cup wasn’t dry?
That happens to me too if the granola is the chewy/oily kind. Try crunchier granola and let it sit open to dry a bit—also make sure the berries aren’t wet (pat them dry). If your cup still had any rinse water in it, even a tiny bit can make it go soft fast.
Not gonna lie, I thought it would be bland with just yogurt and fruit, but the granola adds that crunch. Pretty legit copycat.
I totally get that—yogurt + fruit sounds kinda boring, but that granola crunch makes it way better. Gonna try this!
I don’t think this is how they make it at McDonald’s…anyways, it was ok.
McDonald’s version has more stuff i think. Just sayin’.
This tastes super close to the McDonald’s one I remember. The layering tip really matters—keeps the granola from getting soggy.
Honestly, I don’t get the hype for these parfaits. It’s just yogurt and fruit—still tasty though.
I added a drizzle of honey and wow… next time I’ll probably cut the granola just a bit so it doesn’t get crunchy overload.
Copycat is a stretch… but it’s still really good. I used Greek yogurt and it tasted way better than I expected.
This is a great idea! Loved it, easy to make!
This was easy to make and taste really good! Better than McDonald’s!
So simple it’s almost suspicious 😄 Tastes really close to the parfait from McDonald’s—my kids loved it!
I tried something like this but I think I messed up the layers—mine tasted more like yogurt + fruit salad, not parfait. Still good though. Does the granola soften if you don’t serve right away?
Haha right?! It’s giving “too easy to be true” energy 😄 I’m glad it matches the McDonald’s vibe—now I need to make it for the kids.
1 cup yogurt + fruit + granola… I mean yeah it’s good, but “copycat” feels exaggerated. Still better than nothing though.
Ok but… strawberries are expensive right now 😩 I subbed frozen and it was kinda watery. Not bad, just not the same texture.
I wish I had some fancy yogurt, mine was just plain. 😞
You can totally use plain yogurt, just add a bit of honey or some sugar to sweeten it up! 😊
I followed it exactly, but my granola got soggy fast. Next time I’ll toast it slightly or add it last right before eating.
I didn’t have fresh strawberries so I used frozen—works, but you gotta thaw and pat them dry. Otherwise it turns into strawberry syrup real quick.
Yes! Frozen definitely can work—thawing and drying them is key. Otherwise I’ve had the same “strawberry syrup” situation 😂
I just toss frozen in straight and add extra granola… but maybe I’m doing it wrong? Tastes fine tho. Thanks for the thaw/pat tip.
So easy! I did this in a mason jar and it looked exactly like the parfait from the store. The granola stayed crunchy too—win.
Could I swap the granola for oats? Also, do you think frozen berries work? I’m skeptical but willing to try.
I don’t get why people like parfaits. It’s just yogurt and fruit. Not impressed.
I think parfaits are amazing! The mix of yogurt, fruits, and granola just hits different. You gotta try it before judging!
Yogurt and fruit may sound simple, but it’s all about the layers and texture! You might change your mind after tasting one!
Pretty tasty but I wish it was more sweet. I added a tiny drizzle of honey and it made a big difference.
Not gonna lie, I thought it would be sweeter. I might add a little honey or use vanilla yogurt that’s already sweetened.
The amounts seem off… I had way too much yogurt and barely any granola. Maybe I measured wrong, but I wouldn’t call it exact.
Same here! I swear I followed it, but mine tasted like yogurt soup 😅. Next time I’m doubling the granola a bit.
I get what you mean—if the yogurt-to-granola ratio is even slightly off, it can totally feel unbalanced. I usually spoon the granola in carefully and level the 1/4 cup.
This is basically yogurt with berries. Kinda boring, imo.
Ok so I forgot to layer and just dumped everything in a bowl… still pretty good 😅
Honestly that’s how parfaits end up in my house too 😅 If it tastes good, it counts. I usually just do a quick mix when I’m rushing.
I followed it exactly, but my yogurt was kinda runny and the layers mixed together. I think I should’ve used thicker yogurt.
Wow, can’t believe I made this! Will definitely make it again!
That’s awesome! I love how easy it is to make! Great job!
I used frozen berries instead and it still turned out yum! 🙂
I’m glad it turned out good! I’ll have to try frozen berries next time too. 😊
But like, isn’t it a whole different taste with fresh berries? Just sayin’.
Love how fast this is—perfect breakfast when I’m rushing. The layers look exactly like the ones from the store!
Yes! This is the exact kind of quick breakfast I need—just grab and go. The layers are super satisfying too.
Quick and delicious! Just like the fast-food one but healthier.
Yeah, I tried it and it’s awesome! Love that it’s healthier. Thanks for sharing!
Pretty basic. Would prefer something more complicated with layers.
Well, not every recipe needs to be complicated. Some of us just want something quick and easy. I love this recipe!
I think it’s perfect just the way it is! Sometimes simple is best. Plus, you can always add more layers if you want!
I followed it exactly but my granola went soft way too fast. Maybe I should assemble right before eating like it says?
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about the “easy copycat” thing, but the layers are simple and actually taste right. Strawberry + yogurt + crunchy granola is a classic.
That’s exactly how I felt too—“easy copycat” sounds like marketing. But the strawberry + yogurt + granola combo really is the whole point, and layering it this way keeps it from getting soggy.
Not gonna lie, this is mostly just layering. Still, it’s a nice breakfast when you don’t wanna cook—my kids ate it fast.
Super easy and honestly way fresher than the one I get at the store. The layers make it feel fancy even when it’s just yogurt and fruit.
I don’t get why people pay for this—$5 for yogurt and berries is wild. This copycat is a lifesaver.
Easy to make, but I burnt the granola. How do you even burn granola??
Super easy and honestly tastes really close to the parfait from there. I used Greek yogurt too and it was even better.
Nice! I’m gonna try it with Greek yogurt next time—glad it’s even better. Thanks for the tip!
Best parfait I’ve ever had! Thanks for sharing! 🌟
I think calling it “copycat” is a stretch. The yogurt flavor matters a lot, and mine didn’t taste anything like McDonald’s.
Okay this is my new go-to snack. I added a drizzle of honey and it made it taste way richer.
My parfait got a little watery after sitting, so I recommend serving right away like the instructions say. Flavor was good, but the granola softened fast.
I dunno, my parfait ended up a soup… maybe I put in too much yogurt?
Good recipe, but mine looked like a mess when I served it. 😂
Lol, mine was a disaster! Follow the layers and it might work better. 😂
Don’t worry! Mine looked messy too the first time. Taste is what counts! 😄
Wow, my kids loved it! Super easy to whip up for breakfast. Thanks!
That’s awesome to hear! It’s such a quick and healthy treat. My kids love it too!
It tastes good but my granola went kinda soft after a few minutes. Next time I’ll add it closer to eating or keep the granola separate.
Hmm I don’t have that problem… unless my yogurt is too runny? I usually do it right away like the recipe says, but your method sounds safer. Also “few minutes” is still fast, haha.
Totally agree—granola turns soft fast once it hits the yogurt. I’ve started packing it separately and it’s so much better right before eating.
