Mango and Yogurt Parfait

March 25, 2026

The Mango and Yogurt Parfait is a simple yet elegant dessert that brings together the creamy richness of yogurt with the tropical sweetness of ripe mangoes. Layered beautifully in a glass, this parfait is not only a treat for the taste buds but also a feast for the eyes. It’s the kind of dish that works just as well for breakfast or brunch as it does for a light dessert after dinner.

At the heart of this parfait is the mango, juicy, vibrant, and naturally sweet. When diced or blended into a smooth purée, it becomes the perfect contrast to the tangy creaminess of yogurt. If you’re using in-season, ripe mangoes, their natural flavor shines through, offering a burst of sunshine in every bite.

The yogurt layer can be tailored to your liking. Greek yogurt adds a thick, protein-rich base with a slight tang that pairs beautifully with the fruit. For a touch of sweetness, you can mix in a bit of honey or vanilla extract. The balance between sweet and tart creates a refreshing flavor that doesn’t feel heavy, even after a full meal.

To elevate the texture, many versions of this parfait include a layer of granola, crushed nuts, or even toasted coconut. These crunchy additions bring in a satisfying contrast to the creamy and juicy layers. Pistachios or almonds pair especially well with mango and add a touch of richness and bite.

What makes this dish so appealing is its versatility. You can prepare it in advance for a grab-and-go breakfast or serve it in small glasses for a dinner party dessert. It’s also easy to customize, add berries, chia seeds, or a drizzle of lime juice for a twist on the classic version.

Mango and Yogurt Parfait is light, nutritious, and naturally flavorful. With its blend of creamy Greek yogurt, sweet mango, and crunchy toppings, it’s a perfectly balanced treat that satisfies without overindulgence. Whether you’re looking for a healthy snack or a visually stunning dessert, this parfait delivers with ease.

I’m skeptical about using Greek yogurt. Isn’t it too tart? Maybe I’ll stick to regular yogurt next time.

    1. User avatar celsa.schoen says:

      2 stars
Nah, regular yogurt is fine too. I don’t see the fuss about Greek yogurt. It’s just yogurt that’s a bit thicker, right? Just use what you like!

I understand your concern! Greek yogurt does have a distinct tartness, but it pairs really well with the sweetness of mango and honey. You should give it a try, you might be surprised!

  2. 5 stars
I just put it all in a bowl and mixed it up instead of layering. Still good!

Great recipe! But what’s Greek yogurt? Is it different from regular yogurt?

This is just like a parfait I had in a fancy restaurant! I love how easy it is to make. Not sure why it says to serve immediately, it’s still good later.

  5. User avatar cheree.collins1983 says:

Too much yogurt! It overwhelmed the flavors. Next time I’ll cut it in half.

    1. User avatar carrol.crooks5 says:

      4 stars
I agree! The yogurt can be really thick, maybe try blending it with a bit of mango next time?

  6. 5 stars
    Best ever. Must try!!!

  7. 4 stars
Yum! But next time I’ll use more honey, it needed a bit more sweetness for me.

    1. User avatar frederick.stiedemann28 says:

      4 stars
I agree! A bit more honey would make it perfect. I added some maple syrup to mine too.

  8. 4 stars
Is Greek yogurt really necessary? I prefer regular yogurt. Can I use that? 🤔

    1. User avatar josue.rippin16 says:

      4 stars
You can totally use regular yogurt! Just be mindful that the texture and flavor might be a bit different, but it should still taste yummy! 😊

    2. User avatar quincy.sawayn30 says:

      3 stars
Nah, Greek yogurt is thicker and has more protein. Regular yogurt can work but won’t be the same, you know? 🤷‍♂️

Did it exactly as you said but it just tasted like yogurt. Wasted my mangoes 😡

    1. 2 stars
Cookies? Really? I don’t think that would taste good at all. Granola is way better.
