Lamb Chops and Vegetables in Foil

March 18, 2026

Lamb chops and vegetables in foil is a simple yet flavorful dish that brings together tender meat and perfectly roasted vegetables with minimal effort. This method locks in moisture and enhances natural flavors, making it ideal for both weeknight dinners and relaxed weekend meals. Whether prepared in the oven or on the grill, foil packets ensure juicy lamb chops infused with herbs, garlic, and seasonal vegetables.

To begin, choose high-quality lamb chops, such as rib or loin cuts, known for their tenderness and rich flavor. Marinate them briefly with olive oil, minced garlic, fresh rosemary, thyme, salt, and black pepper. A splash of lemon juice adds brightness and helps balance the richness of the meat. While the lamb absorbs the marinade, prepare your vegetables. A mix of baby potatoes, carrots, zucchini, bell peppers, and red onions works beautifully, offering both color and texture.

Lay out large sheets of aluminum foil and divide the vegetables evenly, placing the marinated lamb chops on top. Drizzle everything with a bit more olive oil and season lightly. Fold the foil tightly to create sealed packets, ensuring the steam stays inside during cooking. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 25 to 30 minutes, or grill over medium heat for a slightly smoky flavor.

As the packets cook, the vegetables become tender and absorb the savory juices from the lamb, creating a cohesive and satisfying dish. The result is succulent meat paired with soft, flavorful vegetables that require no additional sides. With this dish, try crusty Irish soda bread. For a finishing touch, open the packets carefully and sprinkle with fresh parsley or a crumble of feta cheese for added depth.

This dish is perfect for easy cleanup and customizable to your preferences. Swap in your favorite vegetables or adjust the seasoning to suit your taste. Lamb chops and vegetables in foil offer a wholesome, delicious meal that feels both comforting and elevated, all with minimal preparation.

Seems way too easy… Is it really that simple? Sometimes easy recipes don’t taste good.

Lamb is too expensive. I just used beef instead and it worked fine. Just saying.

    1. User avatar maxine.bartoletti79 says:

      4 stars
Using beef instead sounds like a smart idea! Lamb can be pricey. Did you season the beef the same way?

  4. 5 stars
Absolutely loved this recipe! The lamb was tender and the veggies were so flavorful. Will make again!

    1. User avatar hermelinda.kuhlman says:

      5 stars
So glad to hear you loved it! The flavors really come together, don’t they? 😊

  5. 3 stars
Sounds good but what if I don’t like carrots? Can I swap them for something else? 🤔

  6. User avatar jordon.gleichner20 says:

Had to improvise a bit. Didn’t have lamb chops, so used chicken. Still tasty, but not the same…

    1. User avatar johna.cole says:

      4 stars
Chicken is good too! I think any meat can work, just gotta adjust the spices a bit!

  7. 2 stars
Not impressed. The lamb was a bit chewy, maybe I overcooked it? Also, could use more spices.

  8. 4 stars
I didn’t have rosemary, so I used thyme instead. Still turned out good, but I feel like I missed something.

  9. User avatar Noe Daniel Jr. says:

    4 stars
I really liked this recipe but I didn’t have lamb chops, so I used chicken instead. Still turned out great!

So quick and easy! My kids loved it. I say yay for foil meals! 👏

The foil packets are a great idea! Easy cleanup and no mess. ❤️

    1. 5 stars
I love this idea too! It really makes cooking so much simpler. Can’t wait to try it! 😊

    2. 3 stars
Foil packets r good and all but I wonder if the meat gets enough flavor? Just sayin.

  12. User avatar randee.gaylord79 says:

    1 star
Lamb chops? More like lamb flop. Not a fan.

  13. User avatar Zarniwoop says:

    3 stars
It was ok, but the lamb was too fatty for my taste. Maybe next time I’ll try trimming the fat first.

  14. User avatar shelley.green38 says:

    5 stars
This is comfort food in a foil packet lol. Cleanup was so quick. I added onions (because I always do) and it made it even better.

  15. User avatar Glossu "Beast" Rabban says:

    3 stars
4 stars for effort. I’m not sure about the two foil sheets though—wouldn’t it all steam together better in one? Either way, it tasted alright.

  16. User avatar luba.gutkowski1971 says:

45 minutes at 400°F worked well for me, but my potatoes were a little firm after. Next time I’ll dice smaller or bake 5-10 minutes longer.

    1. User avatar alisa.hackett56 says:

      4 stars
I’m glad you mentioned the potatoes being firm—mine were the same at 45 minutes. Dicing smaller + a little extra bake time sounds like the fix. Thanks!

    2. User avatar ArabianNights says:

      3 stars
Maybe 45 min is too short for foil packets? I’d crank it to 425°F or add like 20 min. Also I kept opening them “to check” and that probably messed with the steam cooking 😅

  17. 2 stars
I totally messed up on the ingredients! I thought it was for beef, guess I misread, lol. Will try again soon.

    1. User avatar chasity.dach1986 says:

      4 stars
No worries! Happens to the best of us. Just make sure you read the recipe next time, lol. Good luck!

I can’t cook. This recipe is too complicated for me. Why can’t it be simpler? Bleh!

    1. User avatar mac.dibbert61 says:

      5 stars
Nah, it’s not that complicated. Just follow the instructions one by one. You got this! Plus, cooking is fun!

    2. User avatar kaitlyn.okeefe84 says:

      4 stars
I totally get it! Cooking can be overwhelming, especially if you’re not used to it. But this recipe isn’t too hard, just take it step by step! 😊

  19. User avatar love.wiza1996 says:

    5 stars
These lamb chops were fantastic! The flavors really melded together. Definitely making this again!

  20. 2 stars
Not sure about this. Is it really ok to cook lamb in foil? Seems risky…

    1. 4 stars
I’ve cooked lamb in foil before and it turns out juicy! I think it’s fine if you seal it well. Just give it a try!

    2. 2 stars
Foil? Seriously? I thought you were supposed to roast lamb! This sounds weird to me. What if it gets soggy?

  21. 3 stars
The instructions say wrap lamb chops and vegetables separately, but then it seems like you put veg in each packet anyway—confusing. I did it either way and it tasted fine.

  22. User avatar aida.borer18 says:

    5 stars
Delicious! The lamb was so tender and the veggies were perfect. I will definitely make this again.

  23. User avatar dianna.yundt48 says:

    3 stars
I don’t know, the lamb was kinda tough for me. Maybe I didn’t cook it long enough?

  24. User avatar arnold.schuppe says:

    4 stars
Dude, this is just like a fancy camping dinner! No clean up!

  25. 2 stars
Foil packets?? Idk. The steam makes everything soggy in my experience. Also I accidentally used regular olive oil and it tasted kinda flat.

  26. User avatar Wayne Deer says:

    3 stars
This is cozy and easy, but 45 minutes feels long for lamb chops? Mine got slightly overdone before everything else was done. Could probably cut the time or use thinner chops.

  27. User avatar Sand-Dial says:

    4 stars
Very easy to follow! I added some mushrooms and it turned out great. Thanks!

  28. 4 stars
Not bad, but my packets weren’t as “sealed” as I thought. I think that’s why the potatoes came out a little firmer than I wanted. Next time I’ll crimp the foil tighter.

    1. User avatar joe_banana says:

      5 stars
Good catch—foil packets really do matter. If they’re not sealed, the steam escapes and the potatoes can stay a bit firmer. Crimping tighter (or even doing a quick check for gaps) should help a lot next time!

  29. User avatar morris.shanahan says:

    2 stars
Why would u wanna use lamb? Can’t you just use chicken? Seems weird.

  30. User avatar rutha.goodwin92 says:

    4 stars
Cooked it but forgot the garlic. Still turned out good tho. LOL.

  31. User avatar latrisha.kuphal62 says:

    5 stars
Tried this tonight—so easy and the veggies came out actually tender without getting mushy. The rosemary + garlic combo is spot on.

  32. User avatar Lumberjack says:

    2 stars
Honestly? It was good but I think I used too much rosemary. Like… it tasted kinda piney. Also I forgot to preheat fully and it cooked uneven.

    1. User avatar edda.funk95 says:

      4 stars
Totally get that—rosemary can turn piney fast. Next time try using less (or crush it a bit and add gradually) and definitely preheat fully so the foil packets cook more evenly.

  33. 3 stars
I don’t think lamb is the best meat for foil cooking. Beef would have been better, I reckon.

  34. User avatar omar.pollich61 says:

    5 stars
Delicious! My family loved it! The lamb was tender and the veggies were perfect.

    1. User avatar antoinette.buckridge94 says:

      5 stars
I tried this recipe too and my kids loved it! Definitely making it again.

  35. User avatar walter.berge says:

    2 stars
400°F for 45 min seems too much for lamb chops imo. Mine turned out a bit dry even with bone-in. Maybe thicker chops need it, idk.

  36. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

    5 stars
Yummy and simple, I made this last night, family loved it! 🥰

  37. User avatar Sand-Dial says:

    2 stars
My kids didn’t like it, but my husband loved it! More for him, I guess!

  38. 5 stars
This recipe is amazing! The lamb came out so tender and juicy. Will definitely make it again!

  39. User avatar sheryl.gutmann2019 says:

    5 stars
Soo good! I made it with sweet potatoes instead and it was still delish.

  40. User avatar sybil.kuphal says:

    4 stars
Super easy and yummy! My kids loved it, which is rare, haha. Thanks!

  41. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

    2 stars
The veggies were cooked, but my lamb was kinda chewy. I probably used thinner chops. Still, flavor was decent and the garlic-rosemary combo works.

  42. User avatar Leto Atreides says:

    5 stars
Wrap everything in foil! I can’t believe I didn’t think of that. Genius!

    1. User avatar weston.nitzsche19 says:

      2 stars
Sounds great but did you really just discover foil? Isn’t that like, common knowledge?

    2. User avatar Sand-Dial says:

      5 stars
Right? Foil really keeps everything juicy! I use it all the time for veggies.

  43. User avatar danielle.schumm52 says:

    3 stars
Is 45 mins too long? I felt like it was drying out. But then again idk much about lamb.

    1. User avatar Hotblack Desiato says:

      4 stars
45 mins is the standard for cooking lamb at 400°F. Try checking it a bit early next time! Sometimes, less is more.

    2. User avatar Emery Jacobi says:

      3 stars
I dunno, my lamb always turns out fine in that time. Maybe try adding a bit more oil next time? That helps with moisture!

  44. 5 stars
Wow this is comfort food. I used sweet potatoes and red peppers and it still tasted great. Also love that it’s basically hands-off while it bakes.

    1. User avatar maricruz.kilback says:

      3 stars
Not gonna lie, 45 minutes seems kinda long for lamb chops in foil. I did it once and they were a bit overdone. Next time I’ll start checking earlier or use thinner chops. Still tasty though!

    2. User avatar Shirlene Gaylord says:

      5 stars
This is exactly the kind of comfort food I love—hands-off but still flavorful. I swapped in whatever veggies I had and it turned out great. The rosemary + garlic combo really makes it.

  45. User avatar eldon.wolff says:

    4 stars
I had to substitute lamb with chicken since I didn’t have any lamb at home. Still turned out good!

    1. User avatar Prostetnic Vogon Kwaltz says:

      4 stars
Chicken is a good substitute! Glad it worked out for you. I love using what’s on hand!

    2. User avatar leopoldo.hamill54 says:

But it’s lamb chops recipe, right? Makes it kinda different with chicken. 🤔

  46. User avatar robin.koss21 says:

    3 stars
I don’t like lamb very much. Just stuck with the veggies. Healthy!

  47. User avatar Reg Nullify says:

    5 stars
I was skeptical about foil packets, but wow. Everything stayed juicy. Next time I’ll make sure the foil seals better so less steam escapes.

  48. User avatar kami.dickinson says:

    3 stars
Decent enough, but I found the rosemary too overpowering. Next time I’ll use less.

  49. User avatar heath.damore says:

    3 stars
My oven broke down and I had to cook it on the stove. Still tasted great, but took longer.

  50. 5 stars
Wow, so easy to make! I just tossed everything in the foil and it was a hit! 😍

    1. User avatar woodrow.fadel2002 says:

      5 stars
I tried this last week and my family loved it! Definitely a keeper! 👍

    2. User avatar neta.okeefe says:

      3 stars
Looks easy, but I don’t know if it can be that good. Is it really? 🤔

  51. User avatar dorian.cruickshank says:

    4 stars
Used sweet potatoes instead of regular ones and it worked great! Super easy and delish!

  52. User avatar dewitt.gerlach says:

    3 stars
I’m skeptical about wrapping everything separately like that—feels like more work than it needs. But the flavor was actually decent. Would do it again with fewer steps.

  53. User avatar ronny.graham13 says:

    4 stars
My packet leaked a little and everything got steamy but still delicious. The garlic smell in the kitchen was unreal. Would do again!

  54. 5 stars
This is what you call a no-brainer! Just wrap it in foil and bake, who can’t do that? Yummy!

    1. User avatar teddy.connelly48 says:

      5 stars
Right? It’s super easy! I love recipes that don’t require much effort. Definitely gonna try this!

    2. User avatar madalyn.schulist99 says:

      3 stars
I don’t know, it seems too simple. Can it really taste good just by baking it like that?

  55. User avatar marylin.rosenbaum81 says:

    4 stars
Pretty good idea, but 45 minutes at 400°F felt a bit long for my chops. I’d check at 35 minutes next time so the lamb doesn’t dry out.

    1. User avatar lyman.gutkowski says:

      5 stars
Good point! I’ve found lamb tends to overcook fast in foil at 400°F. Next time I’ll start checking around 30–35 minutes too.

    2. User avatar tomas.kuvalis says:

      4 stars
I totally get that—my chops were dry once when I left them the full time. I now pull them earlier and they come out much juicier.

  56. User avatar mario.schultz says:

    4 stars
Lamb chops are too expensive nowadays. I used pork instead and it was delicious! 🙂

    1. User avatar w00d_ch0p says:

      4 stars
I never thought of using pork! That’s a smart twist. Might try it myself.

  57. User avatar vern.marvin2020 says:

    3 stars
My rosemary was kinda old so it tasted faint. Also I forgot the garlic at first (oops), but adding it back in the second packet helped. Still a solid weeknight idea.

    1. 5 stars
Ugh, old rosemary will totally do that—faint flavor city. Glad the garlic save worked out though 😄 This is definitely one of those “fixable” foil dinners.

  58. 2 stars
Never tried lamb before, and it was kinda weird?? Not my thing for sure.

  59. User avatar Horace Haag says:

    5 stars
Super easy and the foil keeps everything juicy. I used rosemary and it smelled amazing—would totally make again.

  60. User avatar Ilban Richese says:

    5 stars
I was skeptical about lamb chops in foil, but it turned out tender. I added a squeeze of lemon before serving and it really perked up the flavors.

  61. 5 stars
This was delightful! The lamb was tender and the veggies cooked well!

    1. User avatar Draugr Overlord says:

      5 stars
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Lamb is my favorite, and the veggies sound perfect too!

  62. User avatar rich.landlord says:

    3 stars
Mine leaked a bit of juice from the foil seam and the oven got messy. The food tasted good, but cleaning was annoying. Foil needs to be sealed tighter than I did.

    1. 4 stars
Yeah, foil seams are tricky 😅 If the packet isn’t sealed tight, the juices leak and the oven gets a mess. Next time I’ll crimp the edges more firmly (and maybe double-layer the foil). Still glad it tasted good though!

    2. User avatar tess.huel says:

      5 stars
Mine did that too. I thought “sealed is sealed” but nope—mine leaked right at the fold. Not gonna lie, I had a little smoke and extra cleaning. Tastes amazing once you get it right.

  63. User avatar Gabriella says:

    5 stars
Tried this tonight—actually super easy and the veggies stayed tender. The rosemary smell while baking was amazing. I used skin-on potatoes and they were perfect.

  64. User avatar Mrs. Hyman Pfannerstill says:

    5 stars
I tried this and it came out super tender. The foil really helps, and the veggies taste like they soaked up the lamb flavor. 45 minutes at 400°F was spot on for me.

  65. User avatar donnell.altenwerth says:

    5 stars
Yum. Simple, filling. 10/10 would eat again.

  66. User avatar leonarda.marvin1980 says:

    5 stars
Made these tonight and they came out super tender. Wrapping in foil really helps the veggies soak up the lamb flavor. I added a squeeze of lemon at the end—felt fancy.

  67. 4 stars
Loved it—very filling and my picky eater friend ate everything. I followed it pretty much exactly, except I used dried rosemary. Would make again.

  68. User avatar Gaius Helen Mohiam says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but 2 lamb chops felt like a lot of vegetables for that amount. I had to pile pretty high. Flavor was good, just weird proportions.

  69. 4 stars
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about wrapping lamb with veggies separately. But dividing the mix worked and nothing got soggy. Good comfort meal.

  70. User avatar hassan.corwin says:

    5 stars
    One word: yum.

    1. User avatar claudie.balistreri says:

      5 stars
Yesss, foil packets make everything so tender. Great choice on the timing too!

    2. User avatar dominick.kovacek54 says:

      4 stars
Hah one word but I get it 😄 I usually do 400°F for less, but 45 min sounds like it’ll be nice and soft.

  71. User avatar ed.grady says:

    3 stars
I followed the recipe exactly, except I used dried rosemary. It tasted okay but kinda muted. Would add more rosemary or maybe fresh next time.

    1. User avatar Brooks Bergnaum says:

      5 stars
Totally makes sense—dried rosemary can be less punchy depending on how old it is. Next time I’d bump it up (or use fresh) and taste the veg mix before sealing the foil packet.

  72. User avatar oPandariaNo says:

    2 stars
I don’t have foil, so I used parchment (kinda). It didn’t seal, so the veggies dried out a bit. Lesson learned: foil matters.

    1. 5 stars
Yeah, that makes sense—if the packet doesn’t seal, you lose the steam and everything dries out. Next time try crimping tighter or even double-wrap the parchment.

  73. User avatar linette.dare says:

    3 stars
I’m skeptical about 45 minutes at 400°F for lamb chops—mine were a little overdone. The vegetables were great though, so I’d adjust timing or start checking earlier.

  74. User avatar ronny.braun says:

    4 stars
Looks good, but I only had dried rosemary and baby potatoes… still worked though. Kinda salty if you don’t go light on the salt, so taste first.

  75. User avatar kattie.hoppe95 says:

    4 stars
The rosemary flavor was strong in a good way. I’m not a big lamb person but this convinced me. Maybe I’ll marinate next time.

  76. User avatar madeleine.littel47 says:

    5 stars
Made this tonight and it came out super tender. The foil packets keep everything juicy—didn’t even need much extra seasoning.

    1. User avatar graig.romaguera10 says:

      5 stars
Glad it turned out tender! The foil really does lock in the moisture—love that you didn’t need extra seasoning either. 😊

    2. 3 stars
45 minutes at 400°F for lamb chops feels a lil long to me… mine went kinda overdone last time I tried something similar. What thickness were yours? Still, the idea of the packets sounds good.

  77. 5 stars
This is so easy even I can do it lol. 10/10

  78. User avatar vivian.goldner says:

    2 stars
The temperature conversion confused me, so I baked at 200°F instead of 200°C… somehow it was edible, but not really. Anyway, recipe seems promising—just double-check your oven settings.

  79. 5 stars
Made this tonight and it was surprisingly tender—foil packets really do their job. The rosemary + garlic combo smelled amazing while baking. I’ll definitely do this again.

  80. User avatar kandis.volkman2017 says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, I’m skeptical of wrapping vegetables with meat—felt like it would steam. It did steam a little, but the seasoning held up. Would make again.

  81. User avatar geoWizard says:

    3 stars
I’ll be honest—I’m skeptical of cooking lamb in foil for that long. It sounds like it’ll stew instead of roast. But the flavor was actually pretty good, just not as “browned” as I expected.

  82. User avatar garret.fritsch says:

    4 stars
I love rosemary but I only had dried, so I used extra and it was still nice. Garlic flavor came through strong (in a good way).

Honestly, I thought foil would make everything soggy, but nope. The potatoes were soft and the bell peppers still had some bite. Great comfort food.

Not bad, but my veggies were kinda soft and the peppers tasted bland. I think next time I’ll chop them smaller or add more salt/pepper.

    1. User avatar vince.friesen1979 says:

      4 stars
Thanks for sharing! Soft veggies usually means they needed a bit more time or a slightly hotter bake—foil can trap steam. Next time I might cut the peppers a little thicker/saute them briefly, or bump it up 5–10 minutes.

  85. User avatar jessi.mayert says:

This was actually super easy and the lamb stayed really juicy. The foil method is clutch—45 minutes felt about right, too. Carrots turned out tender without getting mushy.

  86. User avatar charlotte.ruecker49 says:

    3 stars
I used larger lamb chops and 45 minutes wasn’t enough. They were still pink in the center. If you go bigger, definitely adjust time.

  87. User avatar Emily Saunders says:

Tried this tonight—super easy and the veggies came out tender without drying the lamb. The foil sealing trick is legit. I used dried rosemary and it still tasted great.

    1. User avatar thaddeus.hessel9 says:

      5 stars
Yes!! The foil sealing is the secret for sure. I’ve made lamb chops a bunch of ways and this is the first one that didn’t dry them out.

My garlic burned a bit? Maybe my oven runs hot. Still tasted good though, just not as “garlicky” as I wanted.

    1. User avatar maragaret.grimes says:

      4 stars
Oof, yeah that’s likely the oven running hot. Next time try lowering to 375°F or keep an eye on the garlic—minced garlic can burn fast. You could also add the garlic halfway through mixing/foil packet time so it doesn’t sit in high heat the whole 45 minutes.

    2. User avatar angla.sauer24 says:

      3 stars
Maybe your foil packets were packed too tightly? Garlic can get super intense and then scorch. I’m also thinking 2 cloves might be a bit much for some ovens—burnt garlic usually makes it taste less “garlicky” and more bitter.

  89. User avatar cruz.oconner91 says:

Tried this tonight and it came out juicy. The foil makes everything taste super well-married—especially the rosemary and garlic. I used skin-on potatoes and they were perfect.

  90. User avatar tanner.orn2015 says:

    4 stars
The timing feels a little long for my oven. After 40 minutes the lamb was already close to done, but the potatoes were perfect. Next time I’ll start checking around 35-40.

  91. User avatar Treebeard says:

    4 stars
I followed it exactly but my foil packets weren’t as sealed as I thought, so some juices leaked. Still tasted good though—just a little less tender than I expected.

  92. User avatar Sand-Dial says:

    4 stars
I liked the flavor, but my veggies came out softer than I wanted. Still tasty though—would be great with a squeeze of lemon at the end.

    1. User avatar perla.rau says:

      5 stars
Glad you liked the flavor! For firmer veggies next time, I’d cut the potatoes a bit smaller but not too thin, and consider par-cooking them 5–8 minutes before the bake. Also, wrapping really tight can steam things up—maybe leave the packet a little looser for the last 10 minutes.

    2. User avatar Ardath Hagenes says:

      4 stars
Mine came out kinda mushy too 😅 but I think 45 min is too long with foil. Next time I’m gonna cook the peppers and carrots less, like add them halfway through or cut the time down. Lemon at the end is a great idea!

  93. User avatar angele.oconnell93 says:

    3 stars
Mine turned out a little salty even though I only did “to taste.” I think my rosemary was stronger than expected. Still tasty though, just adjust seasoning carefully.

  94. User avatar annamae.graham74 says:

    4 stars
This is comfort food. I’m not fancy and this tasted like I actually tried. Used dried rosemary and it was still great!

  95. User avatar mina.price57 says:

    2 stars
Meh. Too many steps with the foil, and the lamb tasted kinda bland until I salted more. Could be my rosemary, I dunno.

  96. User avatar arcelia.lind16 says:

    5 stars
Yum!!! One-pan vibes. Would rate higher but my foil ripped at step 2 lol

    1. User avatar donetta.hahn2000 says:

      5 stars
Ughh the foil ripping at step 2 is a mood 😅 But honestly the flavors probably still came through great—one-pan foil cooking is so forgiving.

  97. User avatar keven.murray says:

Made this tonight—so easy and the foil really keeps everything juicy. I used bone-in lamb and it came out tender. Definitely pinning this.

  98. User avatar connie.franecki2003 says:

    2 stars
Huh. 400°F for 45 min gave me dry lamb. Maybe my oven runs hot or my chops were too small. Also potatoes weren’t super soft—need more time maybe. 🙁

    1. 4 stars
Sorry that happened! 400°F for 45 min can definitely overcook lamb if the chops are thinner (or if your oven runs hot). Bone-in + medium thickness helps—thin ones probably need ~25–35 min max.

  99. User avatar deirdre.hauck65 says:

    3 stars
The instructions say separate foil for veggies and lamb, but the recipe kind of mixes them in the packet—still fine, just confusing. My packets held up though.

This is a nice meal idea but I butchered it—forgot the garlic at first, then added it late like a genius. Somehow it still worked? Also my foil packets leaked a little but it smelled amazing.

  101. User avatar manie.considine says:

    5 stars
Five stars just for being low effort. Also the foil makes cleanup easy lol.

    1. User avatar tom.powlowski34 says:

      5 stars
Honestly I love foil dinners for exactly that—less mess, fewer steps, and everything stays juicy. 😄 Did you try it with bone-in chops? Mine came out super tender at 45 min.

  102. User avatar liberal.hero says:

    4 stars
I followed it pretty closely but used dried rosemary (still good). The veggies soaked up the garlic flavor in a nice way. Next time I might add a squeeze of lemon at the end.

  103. User avatar Salina Ratke says:

    4 stars
The garlic + rosemary combo is really nice, not gonna lie. My only issue was I didn’t have enough foil so my packet leaked a bit… still good, but messier than expected.

    1. User avatar fritz.bartell67 says:

      4 stars
Oh man, foil leaks are the worst 😅 But I’m glad it still tasted good! Next time you could double up the foil or just wrap it a second time to make it more sealed.

  104. User avatar assunta.orn says:

    4 stars
Decent flavor, but 45 minutes felt a little long for my chops. Next time I’ll check earlier or go a bit thinner on the meat. Veggies were great though!

  105. User avatar Slaughterfish says:

    3 stars
Mine came out a bit bland. I think I under-salted. Still, it’s a nice base recipe and super customizable.

  106. User avatar rickiestmorty says:

    5 stars
Loved the meal-in-a-bag vibe (foil). The veggies tasted like they were roasted, not boiled. Salt/pepper to taste works.

  107. User avatar gayle.predovic70 says:

    4 stars
Easy and honestly pretty tasty for how little effort it is. I used dried rosemary and it still worked. Next time I’ll cut the potatoes a tiny bit smaller so they cook evenly.

  108. User avatar josef.fahey1975 says:

    2 stars
I used boneless lamb and it felt dryer than I expected. Maybe bone-in really matters like the recipe says.

  109. 4 stars
Not bad! I added zucchini and onions and it turned out really flavorful. Would make again for sure.

    1. 5 stars
That’s awesome—zucchini + onions would add so much sweetness and moisture. I’m definitely trying that next time!

  110. 5 stars
Garlic + rosemary is the move. I added a squeeze of lemon at the end and it made it pop. Also the veggies were perfect. Will make again for sure.

  111. User avatar Oolon Colluphid says:

    3 stars
I’m not sure about separating the packets—mine leaked a bit and got greasy. Flavor was still decent, but the cleanup was annoying.

  112. User avatar mikel.white says:

    4 stars
Pretty good, but mine needed closer to 55 minutes. Also, I doubled the pepper because we like it spicy. Still a keeper.

    1. User avatar whitley.quigley says:

      5 stars
Good to hear! I also find 45 minutes can be a bit short depending on the chop thickness—55 sounds right. Doubling pepper is the move 😄

  113. 3 stars
I’m skeptical of lamb chops being cooked 45 minutes wrapped in foil. Mine ended up more “fall-apart” than juicy—still edible, but not what I was expecting. Maybe I should use thicker chops?

  114. 4 stars
Pretty good idea with the foil packets. I was worried 45 minutes would overcook the lamb, but it came out juicy. Next time I’ll maybe cut potatoes a bit smaller for more even doneness.

  115. User avatar jerrell.deckow says:

Not gonna lie, 2 lamb chops for all those cups of veg feels off. It was a lot of vegetables in one person’s plate… but hey, I didn’t hate it.

    1. User avatar lamar.schneider61 says:

      4 stars
Nah it’s actually perfect for me—veg is the main event and the lamb is the protein. If you want more meat, just bump to 3-4 chops.

    2. 4 stars
I get what you mean—2 chops vs all that veg is a bit lopsided. But I tried it and the chops were still pretty filling once everything got all steamy and buttery.

  116. User avatar julian.veum73 says:

    2 stars
Not convinced by the timing—lamb chops vary so much! 400°F for 45 min seems like it could swing from tender to dry depending on thickness. I’d check with a thermometer.

  117. User avatar walter.abbott72 says:

    4 stars
Good flavors, but 45 minutes felt a bit long for my oven. Carrots were perfect, yet the potatoes got almost mashed. Next time I’ll check at 35-40 and maybe add a splash more oil.

  118. 4 stars
Pretty solid idea, but 45 minutes felt a bit long for my lamb chops (mine were thin). Next time I’ll start checking around 30-35 minutes so they don’t dry out.

  119. User avatar Prostetnic Vogon Kwaltz says:

I’m skeptical about the “separate foil sheets” thing—why not just do it all in one packet? Still tasted fine, just not as evenly cooked for me.

    1. User avatar Harlan Stokes says:

      4 stars
Good question. I think the separate packets help each lamb chop get its own steam bubble, so it doesn’t steam more/less than the other portion. But yeah—one packet can work, just expect some uneven cooking depending on how you pile everything.

    2. User avatar yong.quitzon says:

      4 stars
Honestly I’ve done it in one foil packet before and it was fine. Maybe your chop thickness was different or the veggies were cut uneven? 45 min at 400°F might be a bit long/short depending on the lamb.

  120. User avatar darnell.schmeler59 says:

Love the prep—chop veggies, mix, wrap, bake. Super low effort. I added a squeeze of lemon at the end and it kicked it up a notch.

  121. User avatar clarence.ferry24 says:

    3 stars
Not gonna lie, 400°F for 45 min seems too hot for lamb unless they’re huge chops. Mine browned fast and I wasn’t thrilled with the texture.

  122. User avatar chi.schroeder80 says:

Made this with sweet peppers and it was amazing. The veggies cooked all the way through without being mushy. My whole family asked when I’m making it again.

    1. User avatar ozzie.bartell says:

      5 stars
Sweet peppers are such a good idea—glad everything cooked through without going mushy! I love hearing the whole family wants it again 😄
