Cooked Pasta with Tomato Sauce
A delicious pasta dish with homemade tomato sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pound pasta
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine. Simmer for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta in the sauce.
- Serve the pasta with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves for garnish.
