If you’ve ever wandered through IKEA and been tempted by the warm, sweet scent coming from the bakery, you already know the magic of their famous cinnamon rolls. These soft, gooey, perfectly spiced treats are the ultimate comfort food, and the good news is you can easily recreate them at home. This IKEA Cinnamon Rolls Copycat recipe captures everything you love about the original: fluffy dough, rich cinnamon-sugar filling, and that signature buttery glaze.
The secret to perfect cinnamon rolls starts with the dough. A mix of flour, milk, butter, yeast, and a touch of sugar creates a soft, pillowy texture that’s light yet satisfying. After kneading and letting it rise, the dough becomes smooth and elastic, ready to be rolled out and filled. The filling is a simple but irresistible combination of butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon, spread evenly before rolling the dough into a tight spiral. Once sliced and placed in a baking dish, the rolls rise again, becoming even softer before baking to golden perfection.
What truly sets these rolls apart is the glaze. Unlike traditional cream cheese frosting, IKEA-style cinnamon rolls are brushed with a light, buttery sugar glaze that melts into the warm rolls, giving them that shiny finish and slightly caramelized flavor. It’s simple but makes all the difference.
Fresh out of the oven, these cinnamon rolls are soft, fragrant, and impossible to resist. Each bite delivers the ideal balance of sweetness and spice, with just enough stickiness to feel indulgent. They pair beautifully with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and make an amazing treat for weekend breakfasts, brunches, or cozy afternoons.
Making IKEA Cinnamon Rolls at home is easier than you might think, and the result is even better than the store-bought version. They’re warm, homemade, and filled with that comforting scent of cinnamon that makes your kitchen feel like a bakery. Once you try them, you’ll never need to stand in line at IKEA again.

Very simple recipe! I just used whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose… didn’t turn out as nice! But still edible haha. ⭐⭐⭐
I tried this recipe but forgot the butter in the filling. Oops! Still yummy but I bet it would be even better with it! 😅 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had a hard time with the dough, it wouldn’t rise. Maybe my yeast was old? Taste was okay tho. ⭐⭐⭐
These rolls are AMAZING! I made them for brunch and everyone raved about them! So fluffy and delicious! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
So glad you loved them! I agree, they’re the best! 😍
Too sweet for me. I don’t know why people like cinnabons. Not my thing. ⭐
I totally get what you mean! Cinnabons can be over the top for some. Maybe try reducing the sugar next time!
