Citrus Crumble is a zesty, refreshing twist on the classic crumble dessert, combining the bright, tangy flavors of citrus fruits with a warm, buttery crumble topping. This dessert is perfect for those who love the balance of sweet and tart, and it’s a great way to showcase seasonal citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, and grapefruits.
The beauty of Citrus Crumble lies in its simplicity. The citrus filling, often made from a blend of citrus zest and juice, brings a natural sweetness with a punch of acidity, making it refreshing and satisfying. When baked, the citrus transforms into a luscious, fragrant filling that pairs beautifully with the crunchy, buttery crumble topping.
The crumble itself is golden and crumbly, providing just the right contrast to the smooth, juicy citrus. With just a few basic ingredients like flour, butter, and sugar, the topping turns crispy in the oven, creating that perfect texture you crave in every bite. Whether you use a classic combination of orange and lemon or experiment with other citrus varieties, the result is always vibrant and bursting with flavor.
What makes Citrus Crumble so special is its versatility. You can easily adjust the sweetness of the filling depending on the fruit and your preference, adding a bit of honey or sugar to balance the tartness. You can even throw in a handful of berries or other fruits to complement the citrus, making the crumble even more dynamic.
This dessert is perfect for any occasion, whether it’s a light finish to a weeknight dinner or a showstopper for a special gathering. It’s also great for meal prepping or making ahead, as it stores well in the fridge and can be enjoyed either warm or cold. Whether paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream, Citrus Crumble is a delightful treat for all citrus lovers.

So good!!! 😍
Looks good, but is it really that tasty? I made a similar recipe once and it turned out soggy.
I can’t wait to try this! Citrus and crumble sounds like the best combo! 😋
Y’all! This recipe is so easy and delicious! I will definitely make it for my family!
This Citrus Crumble is AMAZING! The flavors are so bright and fresh. I can’t get enough!
I totally agree! The citrus flavors really pop, it’s like a party in your mouth! 🍊🍋
I dunno… citrus crumble sounds weird. What if it’s too tart? 🤔
I tried making this but I think I put in too much butter? It was a bit soggy. Not sure what went wrong.
I made this for my friends and it disappeared in seconds! Best thing ever!
Wow, that sounds amazing! I love desserts that disappear quickly! What did your friends say about it?
It vanished? Are you sure it wasn’t the kids that ate it? Either way, great job!
This was too tart for my tastes. Maybe less lemon next time?
I give it a 4. The zest is key! But i added nuts cause I like crunchz.
I messed up the cornstarch part and it got all clumpy. I will try again tho!
Don’t worry, clumps happen to the best of us! Just mix it slowly next time. You’ve got this!
Citrus crumble?? I dunno, sounds kinda weird. I prefer chocolate desserts.
Yum! I love anything with crumble on top. I’ll be adding more sugar though, I like it sweet! 🍊
I messed up the sugar amounts and it turned out too sweet, but my kids loved it. 😂
Too sweet? That sounds like a recipe for a toothache. 😬 But if the kids liked it, that’s what counts!
Sometimes a little extra sugar can make things better! 😊 Glad your kids loved it!
Not sure why you use cornstarch. My grandma never did that, and her crumble was the best!
Could’ve used a pinch of salt, felt kinda bland to me.
It was ok but not great, I think I’ll stick to apple pie. Crumbles are not my fav.
Citrus loves! This crumble is amazing. The citrus taste is like explosion.
Do you really need that much butter? Seems like a lot… but the recipe worked out.
Um, can you use just store-bought crumble? I don’t wanna make it from scratch.
This recipe was a hit at the family gathering! So refreshing and easy to make.
Yum! So tasty. Gonna try it with limes next time.
Limes sound like a great idea! Can’t wait to hear how it turns out. 😋
Simple ingredients but the flavor was WOW! Definitely making this again!
Not sure how I feel about this… It was kinda sour for my taste. Maybe less lemon next time?
I totally get what you mean! The lemon can be a bit much. Maybe just a teaspoon next time would be better! 🍋
It took too long to bake. I thought it would be quicker. Flavor is great tho.
I hear ya! It can feel long when you’re waiting to eat. But glad you liked the flavor! Maybe try it with a quicker dessert next time?
Took long? I just baked a cake for 45 mins and it was worth it. Flavor is what matters, right?
I made this and it was a disaster, the filling was way too runny. Never again! 😤
This is the best dessert I ever made! So fresh and delicious!!
Best? Really? I mean, it looks good, but how do we know it’s not just average? 🤔
I’m so glad you loved it! It’s my go-to recipe for special occasions. 🍊
So simple! I just threw everything in and it turned out pretty good! Doesn’t need to be perfect!
Citrus? No thanks. Don’t like lemon things. I just made it minus lemon and it was okay.
I added some blueberries to the mix and it turned out amazing! Highly recommend!
I followed the recipe pretty much exactly, but my filling never seemed super thick—maybe my cornstarch was old. Still tasty though, like a citrus pie filling.
Crumble tasted like my grandma’s but she used different fruits. Still good tho!
Sounds like a delicious twist! What fruits did your grandma use?
I dunno… I don’t think oranges and lemons can replace good ol’ apples. Just sayin’.
I used salted butter and reduced the sugar a tiny bit (I know, I know). Turned out better than expected—balanced, not too sweet.
Making this for my kids! Hope they like it, otherwise it’ll be a waste of time.
This looks amazing! Can’t wait to try it this weekend. Lemon and orange are my favs! 🌟
Thanks! You’re gonna love how refreshing it is! 🍊🍋
Yum! I’m gonna add some blueberries next time. Fruit party! 🍊🍋
Made this for a family gathering, and everyone loved it! Will definitely make again.
I might be wrong, but shouldn’t the crumble topping have more butter? It felt a little dry compared to other crumbles I’ve made. Tasted fine though.
I love that it’s basically a dump-and-bake crumble. Also the zest amount is on point—your kitchen smells like citrus heaven while it bakes.
Why do they call it citrus crumble? Shouldn’t it be like tangy pie or something? 🤔
This recipe is a lie! It doesn’t cook in 30 minutes, it took me an hour!
Good recipe but needs more butter, I like my crumble crumblier!
350°F is 350°C, right? 😅 Kidding. I actually accidentally baked it hotter and the crumble got dark fast. But it still tasted good—just more caramel-y.
Nope 350°F is not 350°C… sorry 😅 But yeah, baking hotter will brown the sugar sooner. I think your filling might’ve thickened too fast though—did it bubble the whole 30 mins?
Haha I love that “accidentally baked it hotter” story 😄 Darker crumble can still be delicious—more caramel-y makes sense. How much hotter did you go?
Meh, it was alright. Just tasted like sugar and butter. Not impressed.
This turned out so bright and zesty! The crumble stayed crisp even after cooling. I used a little extra orange zest and it was bomb.
I tried it but my crumble didn’t stay crisp for me 😕 I think I may have overbaked or my butter was too soft. Still tasted good though—just not as crunchy.
Totally agree—mine came out super bright too, and that crispy crumble after cooling is the best part. The lemon + orange zest combo really pops!
GREAT! 10/10 would eat again!!!
This was sooo good! The citrus flavor really shines through. Will make again!
Made this for my kids and they loved it! They always eat the crumble first.
Easy to make but where’s the lemon??? Too sweet for my taste.
The flavor is great but I found it too tart for my family. We added a little extra sugar to the filling next time and it balanced out nicely.
Yum!!! 🍊🍋
Easy to follow and it tastes like “real dessert,” not just sweet citrus. I used fresh juice like the recipe says and omg—huge difference vs bottled.
My topping was kinda clumpy, like cookie dough chunks. I think I pressed the butter in too much. Next time I’ll keep it more crumbly.
I didn’t have fresh oranges so I used bottled juice, it didn’t taste right. Kinda disappointed.
Not gonna lie, 350°F for 30 minutes felt short. The top browned before the inside was really bubbly, so I ended up extending the bake. Still good, just watch it.
Not gonna lie, 1 cup orange juice + 1/4 cup lemon juice sounds like a lot. But it worked! I baked 5 minutes longer for more bubbling.
This turned out so bright and sunny! The orange + lemon combo is perfect, and the crumble got that nice golden crunch. I did bake it closer to 35 minutes though—mine was a little slow to bubble.
Pretty good! quick question: do you really mean 2 cups flour just for the topping? I measured and it seemed like a lot. Either way, it’s a keeper in my rotation.
So easy for a weekday dessert. Preheating the oven and then just mixing—done. The citrus smell while baking is unreal.
Citrus Crumble sounds nice, but why use cornstarch instead of flour? I’m skeptical it’ll thicken right. Would love to try with tapioca maybe.
My crumble came out a bit sandy and not as buttery as I wanted. Maybe I didn’t cut the butter enough? Still tasty, just not the texture I hoped for.
Kind of surprised how thick it got with only 2 tbsp cornstarch, but it worked! Next time I might add a pinch of salt to the filling to make the flavors pop more.
Honestly same—2 tbsp of cornstarch sounds like not enough, but citrus juices are kind of watery so maybe it thickens way faster once it bubbles. Glad it worked for you!
A pinch of salt is a great call. Salt really brings out citrus and makes the sweetness feel less flat. I do that with my lemon curd too.
