Brie and Fig Flatbread

December 16, 2025

Brie and fig flatbread is the kind of recipe that feels effortless yet elegant, perfect for moments when you want something special without spending hours in the kitchen. It combines creamy cheese, sweet fruit, and a crisp base into a dish that works equally well as a cozy dinner, a weekend lunch, or a crowd pleasing appetizer for guests.

The foundation of this flatbread is a thin, lightly baked crust that turns golden and crisp in the oven. This crunchy base creates the perfect contrast to soft, melty brie. As the flatbread bakes, the cheese becomes luxuriously creamy, spreading gently across the surface and carrying every other flavor with it. Brie is mild but rich, making it an ideal partner for sweeter toppings.

Figs bring a natural sweetness that feels both indulgent and balanced. Fresh figs add a delicate flavor, jam adds texture, while dried figs offer a deeper, more concentrated flavor. Either option works beautifully here, especially when sliced thin so each bite gets just the right amount of sweetness. As they warm in the oven, the figs soften and release their sugars, blending seamlessly with the brie.

To elevate the flatbread even further, a drizzle of honey is added just before or after baking. This subtle touch enhances the sweetness without overpowering the dish. A handful of fresh herbs, such as thyme or rosemary, adds an aromatic note that cuts through the richness and keeps everything tasting light and fresh. For a bit of crunch, toasted walnuts or candied pecans can be sprinkled on top, adding texture and a gentle nutty flavor.

Brie and fig flatbread is best served warm, straight from the oven, when the cheese is perfectly melted and the crust still crisp. Slice it into small pieces for sharing or enjoy it as a simple meal paired with a green salad and a glass of wine. It is proof that a few high quality ingredients, thoughtfully combined, can create something truly memorable.

YUM!! This is the best flatbread I ever made, my friends could not get enough!

  4. User avatar Feral Falmer says:

    3 stars
This was okay, but I feel like it needed something more… maybe some nuts or something? Just felt kinda plain. 3/5.

  5. 2 stars
Brie cheese is too classy for me, haha. I used cheddar and it was not good. Wouldn’t recommend.

  6. User avatar Mrs. Porter Lakin says:

    2 stars
I don’t get why people like this. Brie is too creamy and fig jam is too sweet. Not for me. 🤔

    1. User avatar theo.ernser88 says:

      5 stars
Honestly, I love it! The creaminess of the brie is balanced by the sweetness of the figs. Everyone has different tastes, I guess. 🙄

    2. User avatar daniel.kovacek14 says:

      4 stars
I get where you’re coming from! Brie really is super creamy, but I think it pairs well with the sweetness of the fig jam. Maybe try it with a different cheese next time? 🤷‍♀️

  7. 2 stars
Not a fan. The brie was way too creamy for my taste and figs are so sweet, it felt like dessert.

    1. 2 stars
This dish is not dessert, it’s a flatbread! If you think it’s too sweet, maybe just skip the jam next time? Just sayin’.

    2. User avatar norene.mcglynn1977 says:

      4 stars
I get what you’re saying! Brie can be super creamy, and figs are a bit much if you want something savory. Maybe try it with goat cheese next time??

  8. User avatar Cletus Price says:

    3 stars
Is it really supposed to be just 10 minutes? Mine took longer. 😩

  9. User avatar Annita Spencer says:

    4 stars
375°F for 10-12 minutes feels a bit short to fully melt brie on thicker flatbread, but maybe my oven runs cold. Still, I like the simplicity.

    1. 4 stars
I agree—10–12 min can be a little quick if your brie is thick or your oven runs on the cool side. I usually go closer to 14 and just watch for the bubbly/melty stage. The simplicity is still a win though.

  10. User avatar anthony.heller1 says:

    5 stars
Lost my mind while making this lol. But worth it! Yum!

    1. User avatar ashlee.ledner says:

      5 stars
Haha, I totally get that! This recipe is so easy but somehow feels fancy. Glad it turned out well for you!

    2. User avatar kareem.keebler says:

      2 stars
Looks good, but brie n’ fig? Seems weird. Can u really mix cheese n’ jam? IDK about that.

  11. User avatar leigh.turcotte says:

    5 stars
I made this for a party and it was a hit! Everyone was asking for the recipe.

    1. User avatar elvera.parker says:

      2 stars
I dunno, seems too fancy for me. Can it be made with cheddar instead?

    2. User avatar elden.howell1950 says:

      5 stars
Sounds amazing! Love brie and fig together. Perfect combo!

  12. User avatar thea.little says:

    3 stars
Just ok for me. Maybe I didn’t bake it long enough? The arugula was a strange add.

    1. 4 stars
I actually love the arugula on it! Adds a nice peppery bite. Maybe just give it another go and bake it a little longer next time! 😊

    2. User avatar basementDweller says:

      5 stars
How can you not like arugula? It’s the best part! Just bake it longer, a little more time makes it perfect.

  13. User avatar rickiestmorty says:

    5 stars
Absolutely delicious! The combination of brie and fig is a game changer. Will make again! 😍

  14. User avatar jamel.stiedemann22 says:

This ain’t what I expected. You need to be a fancy chef to get this right? I bet my mom could make it better.

    1. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

      2 stars
Nah, this is just pretentious food. Anyone can throw some stuff on flatbread and call it gourmet. My mom could whip this up in no time!

    2. User avatar Muoi Lindgren says:

      4 stars
I think this looks pretty easy! You don’t have to be a fancy chef, just follow the steps. It’s about using quality ingredients!

    1. 5 stars
This sounds amazing! Can’t wait to try it out! 😊

  16. 4 stars
I didn’t have arugula, so I used spinach. It worked out fine. Still yummy.

  17. User avatar denver.roob says:

    1 star
I accidently used cream cheese instead of brie… it was a disaster! Not trying that again.

  18. User avatar Bilbo Baggins says:

    5 stars
Brie + fig is classic for a reason. I used a touch of extra black pepper and it really made the flavors pop.

  19. 2 stars
Honestly, I didn’t get the hype. It was kinda bland to me, I expected more flavor!

  20. User avatar christiana.baumbach2005 says:

    4 stars
Easy to make and sooo good. My kids loved it! Will definitely make again.

  21. 2 stars
I dunno, it sounds kinda weird. Fig jam and brie? Really? Not convinced. 😕

  22. 4 stars
I’m not usually into fig jam, but the smell when it bakes is amazing. Next time I’ll use slightly more arugula and less oil.

  23. User avatar adina.stiedemann18 says:

    2 stars
Idk if it’s just my oven but the flatbread got kinda too crisp in spots while the center stayed softer. Would try thinner slices of brie next time.

  24. User avatar kasey.baumbach2018 says:

    5 stars
This is such a simple upgrade to boring flatbread. The brie gets all melty and the fig jam is sweet in the best way. I added a pinch of chili flakes too—highly recommend.

    1. User avatar edwardo.walker76 says:

      5 stars
That combo sounds amazing. I’d never thought to do fig jam + brie on flatbread but now I want to try it—375 and 10–12 min is perfect.

  25. 5 stars
This was amazing! The combo of brie and fig is just perfect. Definitely a new favorite!

  26. User avatar marcos.nienow51 says:

    4 stars
I made this and forgot the olive oil. It was still good but wish I added it.

  27. User avatar Margot Fenring says:

    3 stars
This is how fancy people eat? I make it with cheddar and normal jam. 😂 Whatever works!

  28. User avatar Anju's Mother says:

    3 stars
Too fancy for me, I just want some cheese on bread lol.

  29. 4 stars
Yummy! But wish it had more figures in it… like nuts or something crunchy.

    1. User avatar Ms. Noah Armstrong says:

      4 stars
I totally agree! Nuts would add a nice texture. Maybe some walnuts or pecans?

  30. 2 stars
This sounds fancy but it’s just flatbread with cheese. What’s the big deal?

  31. 5 stars
This is dangerously easy and tastes fancy. The brie gets all melty and the fig jam is such a good sweet-salty combo with the arugula. Would make again for sure.

    1. User avatar merlene.pacocha88 says:

      4 stars
I tried something like this but I think I underbaked it—my brie didn’t get as melty as yours. Do you cover it at all, or just straight bake at 375? Also… I used cranberry jam once and it was kinda off, so I think fig jam really matters.

    2. User avatar fredrick.wisoky says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—this feels like “fancy restaurant” food for basically zero effort. The melty brie + sweet fig jam is such a great combo. I made it once and it vanished fast 😄

  32. 5 stars
So simple yet so delicious! I used a different jam and it still turned out great.

    1. User avatar merissa.reilly63 says:

      5 stars
Glad to hear it turned out great! What kind of jam did you use instead?

  33. User avatar markus.nitzsche88 says:

    5 stars
Wow, this looks amazing! Can’t wait to try it out. Love the combo of brie and fig.

  34. 5 stars
Flatbread + cheese = perfection! I could eat this every day!

  35. User avatar Pasta Fasta says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie I’m skeptical about pairing figs and brie on flatbread. It sounded like one of those Pinterest things, but it was actually decent. My family ate it fast.

  36. 5 stars
Woah! Mind blown! I never thought fig and cheese would go so well together!

  37. User avatar linette.rippin says:

    4 stars
So simple! I used pita bread instead of flatbread and it was still good. A bit confused on baking time tho.

  38. User avatar David Flatley DDS says:

    4 stars
Took this to a gathering and it was gone in minutes! Everybody loved it.

  39. 2 stars
I dunno… The combination seems strange. Fig jam on bread? I think I’d rather have regular pizza. But hey, to each their own.

  40. User avatar tristan.senger30 says:

    3 stars
Quick and tasty! But my kids thought it was weird. 😂 They prefer pizza. 3 out of 5 stars!

  41. User avatar gertrudis.stanton says:

    4 stars
Super simple and quick to make! I used store-bought flatbread because I’m lazy, and it turned out delicious. Will definitely make again!

    1. User avatar theron.carroll says:

      5 stars
Sounds tasty! I love brie and figs together. I’m gonna try this with homemade flatbread next time. Thanks for sharing!

  42. User avatar mathew.swift2022 says:

    4 stars
I followed the bake time pretty closely, but next time I’ll watch it a bit more. Mine browned a little too much on the edges while the center was still perfect.

    1. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

      4 stars
Maybe you should cover the edges with foil next time? Or lower the temp to like 350. Also I think 10-12 mins is kinda long for flatbread? Mine burned once and I swore it was the fig jam cooking faster lol.

    2. User avatar bud.legros15 says:

      5 stars
Totally get that—flatbreads can brown fast depending on how thin they are and your oven runs hot. I’ve had better luck starting check at 8 minutes and pulling it right when the brie is bubbly but not toasted on the edges.

  43. 5 stars
This flatbread is heavenly! The balance of the sweet fig with the creamy brie is just perfect. I made it for a party, and everyone loved it!

  44. User avatar cristy.hayes1996 says:

    5 stars
    One word: delicious.

  45. User avatar candance.hettinger says:

    5 stars
This sounds ridiculously good—brie + fig jam is such a classic combo. I’d probably add a little crushed red pepper too just for kick.

  46. User avatar alysha.kunze74 says:

    4 stars
I didn’t have arugula so I used spinach—still good, but I think arugula’s peppery bite helps a lot. Mine took closer to 15 minutes for bubbly cheese.

  47. User avatar melina.gusikowski86 says:

    4 stars
Ppl, you gotta try this! So easy and fancy. I added some walnuts for crunch, yum!

  48. User avatar solomon.ernser1991 says:

    4 stars
I used goat brie because that’s what I had and it still melted—so props for being flexible. Would make again for sure.

    1. User avatar delisa.lind21 says:

      5 stars
Love hearing that! Goat brie is a nice tweak—glad it still melted up well. I’m definitely stealing that idea for next time 😄

  49. 4 stars
Tried it with store-bought flatbread and it came out great, though I think 10 minutes was perfect—12 minutes made mine a little too browned.

  50. 3 stars
This should have more flavor, I think some garlic could help but then it wouldn’t be brie and fig, huh?

  51. User avatar sunni.botsford says:

    1 star
I don’t get what the fuss is about. Flatbread is just bread with toppings, right? Meh.

  52. User avatar ike.stroman81 says:

    4 stars
Sweet + salty + peppery greens is a great combo. I used black pepper and it really came through. Next time I’ll probably use a touch more arugula because it got a little overwhelmed by the brie.

    1. User avatar norma.moen83 says:

      5 stars
Yes!! I love that you noticed the pepper coming through—this combo is exactly the vibe. I usually do a slightly heavier arugula layer too, so that totally makes sense about being overwhelmed by the brie.

    2. User avatar era.turcotte14 says:

      3 stars
Maybe I’m doing it wrong but mine came out kinda too cheesy? Like the fig jam tasted good but the greens wilted fast. I didn’t use enough pepper either. Would adding the arugula at the very end help? Or cook it longer so the arugula dries out 😅

  53. 4 stars
The arugula on top is such a nice peppery contrast. I was skeptical, but it really works and keeps it from tasting heavy.

  54. 5 stars
This flatbread is amazing! I made it for a party and everyone loved it. Will definitely make again!

  55. 5 stars
Super easy and looks fancy. I used store-bought flatbread and it still came out great—like a brunch appetizer in 15 minutes.

  56. User avatar rodger.haag says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about fig jam on pizza/flatbread, but it works. The aroma is amazing while it bakes. I served it as a quick dinner and everyone wanted seconds.

  57. User avatar iris.pfeffer87 says:

    5 stars
This is dangerously good. The brie gets all melty and the fig jam sweet-salty combo is chef’s kiss. I added a pinch of chili flakes and it leveled up fast.

    1. User avatar forest.gislason says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—375°F for 10-12 mins is the sweet spot. I did the chili flakes too and it wakes everything up. Also pro tip: don’t overload the jam or it’ll get runny, but otherwise this is dangerously good 😄

  58. User avatar Galadriel says:

    5 stars
This is dangerously good. The brie gets all melty and the fig jam hits that sweet/savory spot—restaurant vibes for basically no effort.

  59. 3 stars
Brie is my favorite, so of course I liked it. But 375°F felt a bit low? I’ve baked brie toast higher before. Flavor good, texture could’ve been more browned.

    1. User avatar dede.white46 says:

      4 stars
Brie toast at 375°F didn’t feel low to me—maybe my oven runs hot? I did get a nice melt though. Would love it more browned too, so next time I’ll add a couple minutes or broil at the end.

    2. User avatar danae.weber1979 says:

      3 stars
375 is fine. 10-12 min is kinda short, thats the prob for browning. I woulda browned it more if i put it closer to the top rack. Still tasty for sure!

  60. User avatar perry.rempel says:

    3 stars
Honestly, not my thing. I thought it would be more savory, but it was too sweet for me. My boyfriend loved it tho.

  61. User avatar charolette.weimann says:

    3 stars
I’m skeptical about putting arugula on after baking—won’t it wilt too much? Maybe that’s the point though. Also my fig jam was kinda too sweet last time.

    1. User avatar magaly.morar0 says:

      5 stars
I get the concern, but the arugula is only in there after baking. For me it wilts just enough to mellow while still staying a little bite-y—especially if you don’t drown it in oil. Also try slightly less fig jam or look for one with less sugar if yours runs sweet.

  62. User avatar winston.cronin69 says:

    4 stars
How is it that simple can taste so good? I used a different cheese though.

    1. User avatar rodney.smith98 says:

      5 stars
I love that you used a different cheese! The brie must be good, but I bet other cheeses work too. What did you use?

    2. User avatar Rusty Dorr says:

      3 stars
It’s good, but sometimes simple ain’t enough, ya know? I like more flavors. Maybe try adding nuts or something?

  63. User avatar coy.murray31 says:

    3 stars
I’m skeptical about mixing arugula on top after baking. Mine wilted too much and turned kinda sad. Next time I’ll add it at the end more lightly.

  64. User avatar saul.lang says:

    2 stars
It was ok. Kinda sweet? Like I expected more cheesy and less jammy. Maybe my fig jam was too sweet.

  65. 4 stars
Honestly, flatbread + jam + cheese… weird but I bet it works. Might make it for a snack night lol.

  66. User avatar peter.ullrich says:

    4 stars
Yummy! But the brie is expensive! 😩 I used cheddar and it was still good. Thanks for the recipe!

  67. User avatar oPandariaNo says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, I used less fig jam because it felt like a lot. Wish I’d followed the recipe—should be more balanced.

    1. User avatar ward.dare1968 says:

      5 stars
Totally get it—fig jam can feel like “too much” at first. 3 tbsp really is what makes the sweet-salty balance with the brie. Next time, try spreading it more evenly (even if it’s thin) and you’ll still get that pop without being overwhelming.

  68. User avatar mariel.streich81 says:

    3 stars
Good flavors, but it’s more of a snack than a meal. If you’re hungry, serve with soup or something substantial.

  69. 1 star
My kids wouldn’t eat it. They said it looked like a salad on pizza. 😂

    1. User avatar elia.maggio24 says:

      4 stars
Maybe try adding some pepperoni or cheese on top? Kids love that! 😅

    2. User avatar Gag Halfrunt says:

      3 stars
Salad on pizza? Nah, more like a fancy snack for adults! 🤷‍♀️

  70. User avatar tamera.turcotte says:

    4 stars
My oven runs hot so I pulled it at 8 minutes. Cheese was melted but not bubbly—still tasted awesome though.

    1. User avatar georgetta.boyer says:

      5 stars
Glad it still came out tasty! I also find ovens vary a lot—8 minutes sounds like it could be the sweet spot if yours runs hot.

  71. User avatar wiley.nienow says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but I found it a little sweet for my taste. I’ll cut back on the fig jam or maybe add a squeeze of lemon for balance.

  72. User avatar CTRLplusW says:

    2 stars
375°C? Wait I think the recipe says 375°F… I cooked mine at 190°C like a dum dum 😅 It was still edible but the flatbread got too crispy. Sorry, not sorry.

  73. User avatar vance.oconnell says:

    5 stars
Tried something similar and it came out fancy without much effort. The arugula at the end is a great move—fresh and peppery against the melty cheese.

  74. User avatar ernest.marks says:

    5 stars
I made it with store-bought flatbread and it turned out really good. Baking time was perfect for me—cheese bubbly, edges just starting to toast. Love the arugula on top.

  75. User avatar elena.walter28 says:

    3 stars
Pretty solid idea, but 3 tablespoons fig jam feels like a lot unless you really love sweet. Next time I’ll go lighter or spread it thinner.

  76. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    4 stars
My fig jam kind of slid around and soaked into the brie (maybe because it was warmer). Tasted fine, but it looked messy. Still a keeper recipe!

    1. User avatar deidre.oconnell40 says:

      5 stars
Oh no—yeah, fig jam + warm brie can get runny fast. Next time I’d chill the jam a bit or use less and spread it quickly. Still sounds delicious though!

    2. 4 stars
Mine did the same thing—thought I messed up lol. I think it’s cuz the brie was too melty and the oven too hot. Maybe bake 8-10 min and then add the jam after? Or put the fig in smaller dollops.

  77. User avatar shante.pacocha1989 says:

    2 stars
Mine came out kinda bland… I forgot the pepper and only did salt lightly. Also I used the wrong jam (strawberry) so yeah that’s on me lol. Still, directions are simple.

    1. User avatar jacquetta.bogan says:

      5 stars
Honestly that sounds exactly like the issue—no pepper and light salt will make it taste pretty muted. Strawberry jam vs fig jam can also change the whole vibe. Glad the directions were still easy though!

  78. User avatar oren.windler1965 says:

    5 stars
    So good. 10/10. Simple.

    1. User avatar rory.mann82 says:

      5 stars
So good!! I tried it last night and it was gone fast—so simple and fancy. 😄

  79. User avatar Loreta Feeney says:

    5 stars

I think 10-12 minutes is a little short—mine started to melt but wasn’t bubbly yet. I ended up around 15 minutes. Still tasty though, just be patient with the cheese.
