45 Minute Pork Chops

August 21, 2023

When you’re in the mood for something hearty but don’t have hours to spend in the kitchen, 45-minute pork chops are the perfect solution. This dish delivers everything you want in a meal – tender, flavorful pork, a crispy exterior, and a juicy interior, all in under an hour.

The beauty of 45-minute pork chops is that they come together with minimal fuss. Whether you’re pan-searing them for that golden-brown crust or finishing them off in the oven for even cooking, pork chops are a versatile protein that can be prepared in various ways. A quick sear locks in the juices, and a few minutes in the oven ensures they cook through without becoming dry.

The secret to great pork chops lies in the seasoning. Simple salt and pepper go a long way, but you can also get creative with herbs, garlic, or a drizzle of balsamic vinegar for added depth. Even a quick marinade with olive oil, mustard, or honey can add a rich layer of flavor that makes these chops stand out.

You can pair these pork chops with nearly anything, from mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables to a fresh salad or even a hearty grain like quinoa or rice. For a balanced meal, try adding something with a little sweetness, like apple sauce or caramelized onions, which complement the savory pork beautifully.

What’s even better is that this meal doesn’t require a lot of prep time, making it ideal for busy weeknights or last-minute gatherings. You can also prepare them in advance, letting the seasoning or marinade work its magic while you focus on the sides.

In 45 minutes, you’ll have a meal that feels satisfying and flavorful, yet doesn’t require hours of cooking. Pork chops are a reliable and easy-to-make dish that can be customized to fit your taste, making it a perfect weeknight dinner staple.

Pork chops? What about beef?? 😡 I won’t make this. Beef is always better. Just saying.

  2. User avatar Beverley Sipes Jr. says:

    3 stars
I followed it mostly, but my sauce tasted a little sharp from the Dijon. Next time I’ll add a pinch of sugar or use a mild mustard. Still good though, just needed a tweak.

  3. 5 stars
Really juicy! My kids actually ate the veggies with it. That’s a miracle!

    1. User avatar salvador.swaniawski says:

      5 stars
That’s awesome! I always struggle with my kids eating veggies, but maybe I should try this recipe!

    2. User avatar cruz.paucek2012 says:

      3 stars
I dunno, my kids still won’t eat their veggies no matter what I made. This sounds good but not sure if it will work for mine!

  4. User avatar alvin.stark says:

    3 stars
I followed the recipe but they came out a bit dry. Maybe my chops were too thin? Gonna try again!

  5. 2 stars
Not sure I love how long it cooks at the end—my chops got a bit dry even though they were browned. Also, 4-5 minutes per side seems long for thinner cuts? Might be cut-dependent.

  6. User avatar jessie.stehr92 says:

    3 stars
Honestly, they were a bit too salty for my taste. I think I will cut back on the salt next time.

  7. User avatar albertha.marks34 says:

    5 stars
Followed it to a T and it was a hit! Will definitely make again.

  8. User avatar Thufir Hawat says:

    2 stars
Is chicken broth really necessary? Kinda feels like overkill if you ask me.

  9. 5 stars
YUM! My kids loved it! Next time I’ll add more garlic, can never have enough!

  10. User avatar josef.prohaska55 says:

    4 stars
I was skeptical about the Dijon mustard, but it actually really works. Surprise!

  11. User avatar susanne.stoltenberg says:

    2 stars
Eh, this was just ok. Nothing special about it in my opinion.

  12. User avatar sean.conroy6 says:

    Pork chops! Yum! 🍽️

  13. User avatar Zaphod Beeblebrox says:

Pork chops? More like pork flop! They were dry, even after following the recipe. Disapointing!

    1. User avatar yessenia.lakin60 says:

      3 stars
You probably just overcooked them. Follow the times, they should be juicy if done right!

    2. User avatar james.denesik7 says:

      4 stars
I had the same issue! They turned out so dry for me too. Maybe we cooked them too long?

  14. User avatar andree.schuppe53 says:

    1 star
Wait… 45 minute pork chops but it’s like 4+5+7+2, math not mathing? 😅 Still, smells good while cooking.

  15. User avatar davis.schaden4 says:

    5 stars
Delish! Made it for my husband, he couldn’t get enough. Winner!

  16. User avatar Shaddam Corrino IV says:

    4 stars
Pretty straightforward and fast. I used bone-in chops and they browned nicely. Sauce thickened a bit less than I expected, but tasted great.

  17. User avatar morgan.renner1984 says:

    3 stars
The flavor is good, but 1 tsp salt felt like a lot for me. Could be my chops were smaller. Still enjoyed it though—would make again with less salt.

  18. User avatar emmie.gislason1952 says:

    2 stars
This was too complicated for me. I prefer just throwing them on the grill!

    1. User avatar kermit.fadel says:

      5 stars
I get that! Sometimes simpler is better. Grilling is so easy and delicious!

    2. User avatar joe_banana says:

      3 stars
But if you follow the steps, it’s not that hard! You just gotta measure stuff right.

  19. User avatar rich.landlord says:

    3 stars
Did you really need to let it simmer for 2 minutes? Seemed too long.

  20. User avatar ricki.jaskolski76 says:

    2 stars
I used pork loin instead of chops and it came out dry 😭. Maybe my cut was too lean. Sauce still slaps with rice though.

  21. 3 stars
I found the chops a bit dry. Maybe I cooked them too long? Anyone else have this problem?

  22. User avatar eloy.oberbrunner46 says:

    5 stars
Good stuff! I added some mushrooms, and it really brought it up a notch. 💥

I don’t know, man. Mine turned out kinda dry. Maybe I overcooked ’em?

  25. User avatar marisela.schmitt1970 says:

    2 stars
Worcestershire sauce? What even is that? I used soy sauce instead and now I’m not sure if I ruined it lol.

  26. 4 stars
Pork chops cooking ain’t my thing, but this recipe is simple and good for newbies like me! Thanks!

  27. User avatar Draugr Scourge says:

    4 stars
I didn’t have chicken broth, so I used beef broth instead. Still turned out pretty good!

  28. User avatar angelia.reilly43 says:

    3 stars
Too much butter for me. I liked it but my partner thought it was swimming in grease. Maybe try less next time.

  29. User avatar mercedez.funk says:

    4 stars
I didn’t have Dijon mustard, so I used yellow. Still tasted awesome!

    1. 5 stars
Glad you enjoyed it! Yellow mustard is good too, cooking is all about what you have on hand. 👍

  30. User avatar mitch.bins says:

    2 stars
I don’t know about this recipe, seems too simple. How can just a few ingredients make a good dish? 🤔

  31. User avatar Rusty Steele says:

    4 stars
This looks real nice, but I’ve never seen Worcestershire spelled that way 🤔. Gonna try anyways!

  32. 5 stars

    1. User avatar meta.lueilwitz says:

  33. User avatar Gaius Helen Mohiam says:

    2 stars
Lowkey burnt my garlic even though it said 1 minute 😅 still tasted alright though. Next time I’ll keep the heat a bit lower. Also I forgot to garnish with parsley, lol.

  34. 5 stars
Made this tonight—so quick and the sauce tastes fancy for how easy it is. Garlic + Worcestershire is a great combo.

  35. User avatar karina.turcotte53 says:

    3 stars
Took forever to cook! Maybe I just have a slow stove… but like why is it called 45 minutes? 🤔

  36. User avatar liberal.hero says:

    3 stars
I followed the recipe step by step, but the pork was a bit tough. Not sure what went wrong.

  37. User avatar karlene.feest says:

    2 stars
This recipe was way too salty for me. Maybe I added too much salt? Who knows.

    1. User avatar Draugr Deathlord says:

      3 stars
Too salty? are you sure? I think the broth adds flavor, not salt! Anyway, cooking is all about adjusting for your taste.

    2. User avatar brittni.mclaughlin0 says:

      4 stars
I thought it was perfect! Maybe next time try less salt? Just a suggestion! 😊

  38. 4 stars
45 minutes? More like 60! The timer was off for me. Got good chops though!

  39. User avatar jarvis.schulist says:

    4 stars
    Good! Would eat again! LOL

  40. User avatar rich.landlord says:

    5 stars
Made this tonight and it was super flavorful. The Worcestershire + Dijon combo is such a good pairing—my pork chops stayed juicy too. I did let them simmer a bit longer to make the sauce thicker.

  41. User avatar christian.quigley56 says:

    3 stars
Yay, I made it! But my pork chops turned out kinda tough. What did I do wrong?

    1. User avatar w00d_ch0p says:

      4 stars
Maybe try cooking them for a shorter time next time? They can get tough if overcooked. 😟

    2. User avatar Magrathean sperm whale says:

      3 stars
tough pork chops? why not try marinating them first? would make them tender!

  42. User avatar phyllis.robel1984 says:

    4 stars
Simple and tasty! Would make for dinner anytime. 👍

  43. User avatar Ice Wraith says:

    5 stars
    Pork chops <3

  44. 3 stars
What’s Worcestershire sauce? Is it really necessary? I used soy sauce instead.

    1. 4 stars
Worcestershire sauce is a condiment that adds a unique flavor. It’s not totally necessary, but it does enhance the dish! Using soy sauce is a solid alternative, though it will change the flavor profile a bit.

  45. User avatar sharda.harber83 says:

    4 stars
Delicious! Used thyme instead of parsley, and it was still amazing. This will be my go-to recipe now.

    1. 3 stars
Really? I don’t think it would taste as good without parsley. Might have to try it your way, tho!

    2. User avatar sonny.nikolaus2023 says:

      5 stars
Thyme sounds like a great substitute! I always love experimenting with herbs. Glad you enjoyed it!

  46. User avatar nelia.terry says:

    3 stars
Wait, what’s Dijon mustard? I just used regular mustard and it was fine.

  47. User avatar tristan.kilback says:

    5 stars
These were so easy to make! I never cooked pork before but now I’m a pro! 👩‍🍳

I followed the recipe, but my chops came out dry. What did I do wrong?

  53. User avatar rene.stehr14 says:

I tried this but it took way longer than 45 minutes! My kitchen ended up a mess and the chops were kinda tough. Not impressed.

  54. User avatar marquis.hauck80 says:

    2 stars
I tried it, but the garlic burned 😭. I probably left it too long. The rest of the sauce still saved the meal.

    1. User avatar Ruthe Schiller says:

      4 stars
Ahh no 😭—garlic goes from perfect to burnt super fast. Next time, try adding it a bit later (or lowering the heat) and keep an eye on it for just a quick fragrant moment.

  55. 4 stars
    Good pork

  56. User avatar Thufir Hawat says:

    5 stars
Made this tonight—super flavorful sauce. The Dijon + Worcestershire combo is legit. Mine took closer to 7 minutes at the end, but still juicy.

  57. User avatar chong.jenkins says:

    5 stars
These turned out super juicy and the sauce is really flavorful—Worcestershire + Dijon is such a good combo. I used a splash more broth since my skillet was bigger and it still worked great.

    1. User avatar maryrose.lind18 says:

      5 stars
Glad you liked it! The Worcestershire + Dijon combo really does something magic, huh. I might have to try the extra broth trick for my bigger pans.

  58. 5 stars
So good! The Worcestershire sauce really adds a nice kick! Yum!

    1. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

      5 stars
