3-Ingredient Sausage Dip

December 26, 2023

When you need a quick, crowd-pleasing appetizer, nothing beats a classic 3-Ingredient Sausage Dip. This creamy, cheesy, and savory dip comes together in just minutes and is always the first thing to disappear at any party, potluck, or game day gathering.

The beauty of this dip lies in its simplicity. With only three ingredients – ground sausage, cream cheese, and diced tomatoes with green chilies (such as Rotel) – you get maximum flavor with minimal effort. Start by browning the sausage in a skillet until fully cooked and slightly crispy. Drain the excess grease, then stir in the cream cheese and canned tomatoes. Let everything melt together until smooth and bubbly, and that’s it, your dip is ready to serve.

You can make it as mild or spicy as you like depending on the type of sausage and tomatoes you use. For extra heat, go with hot sausage and spicy Rotel. Prefer something milder? Use regular breakfast sausage and mild tomatoes.

Serve the dip warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or even toasted baguette slices. It also works well as a topping for baked potatoes or inside wraps for a flavorful twist.

What makes this sausage dip a staple for so many is how easy it is to double for large gatherings or adapt to different taste preferences. Plus, it stays warm and creamy in a slow cooker, making it perfect for serving over a long period.

Whether you’re prepping for a party or just want a simple, satisfying snack, this 3-Ingredient Sausage Dip delivers bold flavor and creamy texture in every bite. It’s proof that sometimes, less really is more.

Best dip ever!!!! I used spicy sausage and it was 🔥🔥🔥

  2. User avatar kelley.morissette36 says:

    4 stars
I used mild Rotel and it still had great flavor. Next time I’ll add a little shredded cheese, but the recipe itself is solid.

  3. 2 stars
Um, is it really a dip if you can’t even taste the sausage? I think the tomatoes overpower it!

  4. User avatar stevie.gleichner says:

    3 stars
Flavor is good, but mine turned a little thick and salty. I think I didn’t drain the Rotel enough (oops). Still ate it all though—no complaints.

  5. 5 stars
This is dangerously easy. Cream cheese + Rotel + sausage is such a solid combo—tastes like a party dip should. I didn’t even miss anything.

    1. User avatar diego.buckridge says:

      5 stars
Exactly! I made this for game night and it disappeared fast. So creamy and spicy—dangerously easy is right 😄

  6. 5 stars
Super easy and honestly tastes like it took way longer. Cream cheese melts perfectly once you keep it on low—great with tortilla chips.

  7. User avatar Corrupted Shade says:

    5 stars
This dip is a hit at every party! So easy to make and everyone loves it.

  8. 3 stars
Not sure if I did something wrong, but mine turned out really thick and clumpy. 🤨 3 stars.

    1. User avatar azzie.lind says:

      4 stars
Maybe you cooked it too long? Mine was smooth and delicious!

  9. User avatar angel.prosacco52 says:

    4 stars
Cream cheese melted nicely, no problems there. The only downside is I wish it had more depth—like some garlic or spices would make it even better.

  10. User avatar daysi.monahan1994 says:

    4 stars
This is just like my grandma used to make. Brings back good memories! 4 stars.

  11. 5 stars
WOW this is so easy! I made it for the game and everyone loved it. Definitely a keeper!

Not good for women on diets! Too much fat! Bye bye healthy eating! 👋🏽⭐

  13. 4 stars
Used turkey sausage instead and my kids devoured it! Thanks for the recipe!

  14. User avatar mathWizard says:

    4 stars
Ok but can we talk about the “3-ingredient” part—because I ended up adding extra cheese?? 😅 Still, it worked.

  15. User avatar Seth Wyman MD says:

    3 stars
I used cream cheese straight from the fridge… BIG mistake. It didn’t melt right away and I had to keep stirring forever. Still tasty once it finally came together.

    1. User avatar edgar.goodwin57 says:

      5 stars
Oof, yep—cream cheese straight from the fridge is *so* stubborn. Softening it first makes a big difference. Glad it still tasted good once it finally smoothed out!

  16. User avatar Ford Prefect says:

    5 stars
I made this for game night and it was gone fast. The only thing I did was add a sprinkle of shredded cheddar on top at the end. Would totally make again.

  17. User avatar oPandariaNo says:

    4 stars
Flavor is great, but mine got a little too thick. Next time I’ll add a splash of milk or something, because stirring on low took a while.

  18. User avatar Pasta Fasta says:

    5 stars
Sausage dip? This is a must for every BBQ. 10/10 recommend!

  19. User avatar alessandra.ferry17 says:

    5 stars
This dip is amazing! Super easy to make and everyone loved it at the party! 5 stars!

  20. 2 stars
Seriously? Just sausage and cheese? Seems sketchy to me. 2/5.

  21. User avatar edgardo.spinka says:

    3 stars
It was ok, but I think it needed more spices or something. Just tasted kinda plain.

  22. 5 stars
This is dangerously easy. I used mild Rotel and it turned out super creamy—perfect for game night. 10/10 would make again.

    1. User avatar elmo.roob says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—this one’s insanely easy. I did it for game night and it disappeared fast. Next time I’m trying the spicy Rotel just for a little kick.

  23. User avatar kiersten.zemlak74 says:

    5 stars
This is dangerously easy—3 ingredients and it still tastes like a real appetizer. The Rotel adds the perfect little kick. I served it with tortilla chips and it vanished fast.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree—this dip is dangerous 😅 Three ingredients really do slap. I made it for game night and it disappeared fast too. I think draining the grease makes all the difference!

  24. User avatar Ms. Latasha Lesch says:

    3 stars
I don’t know, it seems too simple. Can it really be that good?

  25. User avatar Lumberjack says:

    2 stars
I forgot to drain the grease and it was kinda greasy… still tasty tho. Like, greasey but delicious. Wouldn’t do it again.

  26. User avatar Torchbugs says:

    3 stars
Okay but why do I always end up with too much grease? I drained, but maybe my sausage was extra fatty. Still tasty though.

  27. User avatar helena.reynolds93 says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but way too salty for my taste. Also I didn’t drain enough grease the first time and it got kinda oily. Learn from me, drain well.

  28. 3 stars
Not bad, but the sausage flavor got a little lost. I think I didn’t drain enough grease? Also, my cream cheese refused to fully melt at first.

  29. 4 stars
I like quick recipes, but I had to add a splash of milk because mine was thicker than dip should be. Still tasty though.

  30. 3 stars
I followed the steps exactly and it turned out kinda thick. Maybe my cream cheese was too cold? Tasted good, but texture was off.

  31. User avatar shakira.mann48 says:

    5 stars
I used mild Rotel because I’m not into spice, and it still came out creamy and flavorful. Great for parties when you don’t want to cook forever.

  32. User avatar oma.fisher15 says:

    5 stars
Cheap, quick, and honestly hits the spot. My family fought over the last chips. Will absolutely repeat.

  33. User avatar kimberley.crona says:

    2 stars
I’m not a fan of cream cheese, so this didn’t work for me. Maybe I shoulda looked for alternatives.

  34. User avatar chantal.hagenes says:

    5 stars
This dip is the bomb! So easy and super tasty! My family loved it!

  35. 2 stars
I don’t eat sausage so I used turkey. It turned out alright but not the same… maybe don’t substitue??

    1. User avatar tomasa.goldner says:

      3 stars
I think it might be okay, never tried turkey tho. But who needs sausage? Just use what you like!

    2. User avatar rickiestmorty says:

      4 stars
Turkey is a good choice, but you really can’t beat the flavor of regular sausage! Maybe just try a different dip next time?

  36. 5 stars
My family loved it. I’m not even a cook, but this was foolproof. It tasted like something you’d buy from a restaurant dip bar.

  37. 2 stars
Not enough flavor for me. I added some spices but it still lacked a punch.

    1. User avatar yee.lueilwitz76 says:

      4 stars
I get what you mean! I added some garlic powder and a bit of cayenne to mine, and it was way better!

  38. User avatar oscar.grimes68 says:

    5 stars
Sausage, chit (you mean chips), and dip! My family horde it all! Good snack for football game.

  39. User avatar Dremora Lord says:

    4 stars
Quick and delicious! Great for last-minute gatherings. Will make again!

  40. 4 stars
Shortcut dip. My husband can’t get enough of it. Will make again for sure!

    1. User avatar Weston Kemmer says:

      2 stars
Sausage dip? Really? That sounds kinda weird. I’m not sure about melting cream cheese with sausage. Is it really that good?

    2. User avatar walker.gusikowski44 says:

      5 stars
I love how simple this recipe is! I’ve been looking for easy appetizers. Definitely trying it this weekend!

  41. User avatar dewitt.mckenzie21 says:

    5 stars
Delicious! I can literally eat this whole bowl by myself. 😂

  42. User avatar beaulah.runolfsson says:

    2 stars
One star? nah. But I don’t get the hype. Cream cheese is fine, but sausage dip feels a bit salty for me. Chips helped.

    1. User avatar pam.feeney61 says:

      3 stars
Ugh I kinda disagree—Rotel is where the flavor comes from. If yours is too salty, maybe your sausage was already seasoned? Also cream cheese helped balance it for me. But yeah, 1 star seems harsh.

    2. User avatar rick.pfannerstill says:

      4 stars
I’m with you on the salt. Mine was super salty the first time too—next time I’m gonna use less sausage or maybe drain it better. Chips definitely save it though 😄

  43. 4 stars
Yummy! I added some jalapeños for extra kick and it was even better! 🔥

  44. User avatar imogene.schulist67 says:

    5 stars
Tastes like heaven! I made it for a party and it was gone in minutes!

  45. User avatar gail.hansen74 says:

    3 stars
Not gonna lie, it’s good but kind of salty. I might use less sausage next time or choose a low-sodium Rotel.

    1. User avatar ned.lehner1987 says:

      5 stars
Totally get that—sausage + Rotel can be pretty salty. Next time I’d drain the sausage well *and* consider a less-salty sausage, or yeah, low-sodium Rotel. It’s such an easy dip though!

    2. User avatar russell.jacobson2014 says:

      3 stars
Yeah mine was salty too… I thot it was just the brand of sausage. Did you drain the grease good? Also i used the whole can with juice once and never again lol. Maybe keep Rotel drained.

  46. User avatar nancie.welch says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about only 3 ingredients. Turns out it’s a genius shortcut. 10/10 comfort dip.

  47. 5 stars
Wow! Only 3 ingredients? That’s awesome! Can’t wait to try it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  48. 1 star
Burned it! Not sure what I did wrong but it got all stuck to the pan. Help!

  49. User avatar lenard.dach says:

    4 stars
Mine got a little too thick after simmering—maybe my cream cheese was more firm. I added a splash of Rotel liquid back in and it fixed it.

    1. 5 stars
That makes total sense—cream cheese brand/firmness can mess with the texture. Glad the Rotel liquid saved it! I’ve had that happen if I don’t stir long enough or if it simmers too hard.

  50. User avatar van.kohler88 says:

    2 stars
This tasted more like a hot sausage bowl than dip. I think my cream cheese didn’t melt right—maybe my “softened” wasn’t softened enough.

  51. User avatar lavenia.borer14 says:

    5 stars
So easy I almost feel guilty calling it a recipe 😅 The dip was super creamy and the Rotel gave it the perfect kick. Will definitely make again for game night.

    1. User avatar earnest.windler21 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—3-ingredient recipes that actually taste awesome are the best. 😄 The Rotel kick is everything. Thanks for the game night inspo!

  52. User avatar yan.hansen75 says:

    5 stars
I used spicy sausage and extra Rotel and it turned out amazing. The cream cheese melted in nicely once I kept stirring. Great with chips!

  53. User avatar velvet.kulas75 says:

    5 stars
so easy it took me just 10 min to make! going to be a staple in my house.

  54. User avatar jame.kessler9 says:

    1 star
Really?? How can cream cheese and sausage work together? Sounds gross to me. Not gonna try it.

  55. User avatar sanjuanita.hintz53 says:

    3 stars
Okay but why does it say 10 ounces drained—when I drained it, it felt a little dry? I ended up adding a splash of the tomato liquid back and that fixed it.

  56. 5 stars
This dip is a game-changer! Made it for the Super Bowl party and it was a hit! Everyone loved it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  57. User avatar twanna.berge99 says:

    5 stars
This is one of those recipes that feels like cheating (in a good way). Also, Rotel is always a win.

  58. 3 stars
I used beef instead of sausage. Wasn’t as good. Should’ve stuck to the recipe.

    1. User avatar clarissa.white70 says:

      3 stars
Lol. Should’ve known better! Sausage is key in this recipe, beef just don’t cut it.

    2. User avatar Jamila Kreiger says:

      4 stars
Yeah, beef just doesn’t have that flavor sausage brings! Stick with the recipe next time.

  59. User avatar thaddeus.kuhic54 says:

    5 stars
I made this and my friends said it was heavenly! I didn’t believe them until I tasted it myself! 😂🌟⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I don’t see how this can be good with just three ingredients… but I’m willing to try it.

  61. User avatar Frostbite Spider says:

    5 stars
Easy and tasty! I used mild Rotel and it still had great flavor. Cream cheese melted perfectly—my family devoured it with chips.

  62. User avatar alton.gusikowski says:

    3 stars
Followed the recipe but the texture was off. Too thick for my liking.

  63. User avatar Corrupted Shade says:

    3 stars
Followed it exactly and it came out a bit thick for my taste. Maybe I’ll add a splash of milk next time, but overall pretty tasty.

  64. User avatar Grover Boehm says:

    3 stars
I followed the steps, but mine turned out a little too thick. Maybe my cream cheese was too cold when I added it.

  65. User avatar alane.gibson1950 says:

    5 stars
Made this for game night—comfort food perfection. I did drain the grease like the recipe says, otherwise it would’ve been too oily. Would 100% make again.

  66. User avatar Wally Langworth says:

    2 stars
Okay, but aren’t there healthier options? Just sayin’…

  67. User avatar audrie.stroman16 says:

    2 stars
Meh. The flavors were fine, but I wanted more depth—like garlic or something. Also 5 minutes simmer felt too short.

  68. User avatar chauncey.sporer77 says:

    4 stars
Can I use turkey sausage instead? Trying to eat healthier but love dips!

  69. User avatar Falmer Nightprowler says:

    3 stars
I don’t understand the fuss! It was fine but just tasted like sausage and cheese. Where’s the flavor? ⭐⭐⭐

  70. User avatar morton.kuhlman says:

    5 stars
Yummy! I have tried many dips but this one is the best! I added some jalapeños for a kick.

  71. User avatar lynetta.orn1950 says:

    5 stars
This is one of those “3 ingredients” things that actually works. My family ate it before I could even set out crackers properly 😂

  72. User avatar yajaira.bruen25 says:

    1 star
3 ingredients? When I cooked it, it didn’t look like in the picture lol. What went wrong?

  73. User avatar dwain.kuhlman says:

    5 stars
Made it for game night and it disappeared fast. I did drain the grease like the recipe says, and it saved it from being too heavy.

  74. User avatar humberto.heidenreich says:

    4 stars
I used turkey sausage instead and it turned out great. You can’t even tell it’s healthier! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

  75. User avatar clinton.grimes51 says:

    4 stars
Pretty good, but I think mine needed more simmer time. After 5 minutes it tasted fine, just not super “melded.” Next time I’ll do like 10.

  76. User avatar chung.farrell1958 says:

    1 star
Can you make it without sausage? I don’t eat it.

  77. User avatar thomas.schmidt says:

    3 stars
Not bad but can it really be called a recipe with just 3 ingredients? Feels more like a shortcut than cooking.

    1. User avatar Gail Andrews says:

      5 stars
I think this is a great recipe! Sometimes simple is best, and it’s perfect for a quick snack.

    2. 2 stars
But 3 ingredients? That’s not really cooking, more like cheating. Real recipes need more effort.

  78. User avatar aracelis.willms42 says:

    5 stars
This is dangerously easy—made it for game night and it disappeared fast. The Rotel + cream cheese combo is perfect.

  79. User avatar julio.bode1979 says:

    4 stars
Pretty good, but I think it needs more time if your cream cheese is cold. I rushed step 2 and ended up with little chunks, still edible though.

  80. User avatar carlton.keebler says:

    4 stars
Yum! My kids loved it! So easy to make too!

  81. User avatar donnie.wolff39 says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but I wish it had more depth. It tastes like “good and simple” rather than “wow.” Maybe add garlic or a pinch of cumin?

  82. User avatar luba.gerhold says:

    4 stars
Not bad, but I expected more “kick.” Next time I’ll add extra jalapeños or hot sauce because the Rotel was kind of mild for me.

  83. User avatar wilson.waelchi says:

    5 stars
This dip is a game changer! So easy and so yummy! Perfect for game day.

  84. 2 stars
I would not recommend this. The sausage was too greasy and the cream cheese didn’t mix well. 2/5.

  85. User avatar jarvis.crona44 says:

    4 stars
Super solid, but I’d recommend draining the grease really well. Mine was a bit oily at first, then it improved a ton after I drained it more carefully.

  86. User avatar thomas.gulgowski says:

    4 stars
Yummy!! I tried with salsa instead of Rotel, still turned out great!

  87. 4 stars
I’m skeptical about “3 ingredients” dips, but this one actually worked. Next time I might add a little garlic or cheddar for more depth.

  88. User avatar damon.blanda54 says:

    4 stars
Honestly this tastes like something I’d make in a dorm kitchen at 2am. Like… in a good way? Simple and good.

  89. 2 stars
Honestly, I thought it was too greasy. The sausage just overpowered everything for me. Won’t be making it again. ⭐⭐

    1. User avatar leisha.blick80 says:

      4 stars
I totally get what you mean! I had a similar experience with the grease. Maybe try using turkey sausage next time?

  90. 3 stars
Made this last night and it was super greasy. Maybe less sausage next time?

  91. User avatar larissa.witting says:

    1 star
    Meh.

  92. 3 stars
Ok so… it’s fine. Not mind blowing. Also I forgot to soften the cream cheese and it got lumpy, so I had to keep stirring forever. Still tasty with crackers.

  93. 4 stars
I was skeptical about only 3 ingredients, but the flavors actually melded nicely after simmering. The cream cheese balance is spot on.

  94. User avatar Draugr Wight says:

    3 stars
Why does everybody act like Rotel is magic? It was fine. Kinda salty though. Chips were the real MVP.

  95. User avatar illa.lakin2016 says:

    4 stars
Super easy and quick! My kids loved it! I added some jalapenos for an extra kick! 🌶️⭐⭐⭐⭐

  96. 2 stars
Okay but where’s the spice? Needs more flavor! Maybe add some garlic or onion? 🤔⭐

  97. User avatar edmundo.howell92 says:

    3 stars
This was ok. Not the best. Only added it a can of beans for more flavor.

    1. User avatar Draugr Deathlord says:

      4 stars
I totally get that! Adding beans sounds like a good idea, though I think the original would be delicious on its own too! 🤗

  98. 3 stars
umm i think 3 ingredients cant be real… but i tryed it anyway lol. turned out ok

    1. User avatar Ariana Bins PhD says:

      3 stars
Wait… you didn’t drain the sausage grease enough or something? I feel like cream cheese would get weird if it’s not melted good. But hey if yours tasted fine, I guess I’ll trust it.

    2. User avatar ester.abshire96 says:

      5 stars
Honestly that’s the best kind of comment 😂 Three ingredients *can* be real—Rotel + cream cheese basically does half the work. Glad it turned out ok!

  99. User avatar rickiestmorty says:

    4 stars
I used mild Rotel and it was still spicy enough for me. The simmer step really helps—don’t skip it or the cream cheese won’t fully melt.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree about not skipping the simmer! I tried it once without simmering and the cream cheese tasted kind of “grainy” instead of smooth. Also 100%—mild Rotel can still be spicy depending on the sausage. Great tip!

  100. User avatar angelo.stanton1993 says:

    5 stars
Honestly, this tastes like something you’d pay $12 for at a bar. Super creamy and spicy—will definitely make again.

  101. User avatar pasquale.kohler39 says:

Yum yum yum! I could eat this every day. Perfect for a lazy night in with chips! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was skeptical about only 3 ingredients, but it actually tasted super flavorful. I did drain the grease like the directions said and it made a difference.

Same here! I was like “no way this is enough,” but the combo of the sausage + Rotel totally carries it. Draining the grease is key—otherwise it’s kinda greasy instead of creamy.

I don’t get why everyone loves this. It’s just sausage and cheese. Meh.

      3 stars
Really? I think it’s delicious! Maybe you just need to try it with some spices or dips? Can’t hurt to experiment!

    2. 4 stars
I totally get it! It’s simple but sometimes those basic recipes hit the spot at parties! Just add some chips and it’s a winner! 😊

I don’t understand why you’d use a can of tomatoes. Fresh would be soooo much better. Just saying.

    1. User avatar hortencia.hane18 says:

      3 stars
But canned tomatoes are way easier and still taste good! Sometimes convenience wins, you know?

    2. User avatar Robin Andis Merryman says:

      5 stars
I agree! Fresh tomatoes would really improve the taste. It’s all about that vibrant flavor! 🌿

  108. 4 stars
Yum! My kids loved it. They can’t stop askin for more. Gonna make this again for sure.

  109. User avatar Tracy Wilderman says:

Pretty solid if you’re in a hurry. I like that it’s 3 ingredients and doesn’t require a recipe brain. Would make again!

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree—when it’s only 3 ingredients I don’t have to “manage” anything 😂. The Rotel + cream cheese combo is dangerously good. Making this again for game night.

    2. 3 stars
I tried it and it was fine, but I think I used too much grease? I drained it, but it still felt kinda heavy. Next time I’ll cook the sausage a little longer and maybe use less Rotel juice.

  110. 2 stars
Not sure why people love sausage dip so much. Mine tasted kinda greasy even after draining, and the Rotel was overpowering. Maybe my sausage was too fatty?

  111. User avatar kiara.gulgowski1952 says:

Meh. It was kinda bland until I added extra chili powder. Still, for 3 ingredients I guess it does the job.

  112. User avatar sonny.quitzon10 says:

3 ingredients? Seriously? I can handle that. Easy peasy! 👍

  113. User avatar Random Dent says:

    3 stars
“3-ingredient” is a stretch lol, because you definitely need chips. Jokes aside, it’s solid. I drained too much grease and it got a little thick—next time I’ll leave a bit.

  114. User avatar allen.johnson says:

    3 stars
Would’ve been a 2 star for me… then I tasted it after it cooled a bit and it thickened up a lot. Still, I think 10/10 depends on the sausage you pick.

  115. User avatar garfield.berge says:

I followed it exactly and it came out creamy, not greasy. The sausage browned nicely and the flavors really did meld after 5 minutes.

  116. 4 stars
I was skeptical that cream cheese would mix with the Rotel without splitting. It didn’t split! Maybe I got lucky but it was smooth and thick.

  117. 4 stars
The grease-draining step is key. I skipped it once and it was kinda oily. When I drained properly, the texture was perfect.

    1. User avatar joseph.kihn says:

      3 stars
Wait I thought you’re supposed to keep some of the grease for flavor 😅 I tried it once and mine was kinda thick, not oily. I might drain less next time I guess. Love how easy it is tho.

    2. User avatar terminatorXYZ says:

      5 stars
Yes!! I totally agree—drain it well or it turns into a greasy mess. I did the same and the texture was way better after draining properly. Great tip.

Five minutes simmer was enough for me. I served it warm and it disappeared. 10/10 for low effort, high reward.

I don’t know… mine turned out kinda thick and heavy. Maybe my cream cheese was too cold? Still edible, but not my favorite dip.

    1. User avatar lura.kuvalis21 says:

      5 stars
That sounds frustrating! Cream cheese that’s still too cold can definitely clump and make it feel thick/heavy. Next time, I’d soften it longer (or even microwave it for a few seconds) before mixing. Also, after the cheese melts, you can loosen it with a splash of Rotel liquid or a little milk/cream and stir on low a minute or two.

Love how simple it is! Also, I used leftover taco meat instead, still delish.

I dunno… sausage dip with only tomatoes and cream cheese sounds kinda basic. Mine tasted bland until I added salt, so maybe the can brands matter.

    1. User avatar Super Saiyan 3 Goku says:

      4 stars
Totally agree it’s pretty basic on paper—but the sausage seasoning does a lot. I add a pinch of garlic powder and it’s way better than plain. Also, Rotel being drained or not changes it a ton!

    2. User avatar jenae.deckow says:

      3 stars
I tried it and it was bland too. Turns out my cream cheese was kinda old/opened too long… and I didn’t drain the tomatoes enough, so it got watery. Added salt + a little pepper and it fixed it. Not gonna lie though, I might try real diced tomatoes next time.

  122. User avatar alvaro.kuhic says:

Made this for game night and it disappeared fast. I did drain a bit more grease than I normally would, but that helped the texture a lot.

    1. User avatar victor.beatty says:

      3 stars
I tried it but mine was kinda thin? I didn’t drain as much (oops). Also I think I used the whole can with juice and it stayed runny… gonna try draining more next time. Still tasted good tho.

    2. 5 stars
Game night = success 😄 Glad draining extra grease helped—I’ve found sausage dips get weirdly greasy if you don’t really drain. Did you simmer it at all longer than 5 min?

  123. User avatar matt.keebler50 says:

Will it work with turkey sausage? im curious. Also i forgot to simmer 5 minutes and it was still good tho. 😅

  124. User avatar dawne.zemlak25 says:

    2 stars
I tried it, but mine was bland. I added garlic powder and it helped a little. Maybe my sausage was the issue? Either way, quick fix.

  125. User avatar ola.howe45 says:

Super fast snack. I used mild Rotel and still had plenty of kick. Next time I might add a little shredded cheese on top, but the base recipe is great.

  126. 2 stars
Way too salty for me. Rotel is already seasoned and the sausage adds more, so next time I’ll use less or choose a lower-sodium option.

  127. User avatar Hope Ferterbest says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but I think it needs more seasoning. Like, you can’t really taste the sausage as much as I expected.

  128. User avatar moses.cormier says:

    5 stars
Super easy and honestly addictive. The Rotel really makes it pop, and browning the sausage first helps a lot. Served it with chips and it was gone fast.

    1. User avatar Rita Story says:

      5 stars
Yes! The Rotel + browned sausage combo is the whole magic. We stirred it up, let it sit a couple minutes, then scooped with chips—gone so fast at our place too.

    2. User avatar sonny.zulauf20 says:

      3 stars
I tried it but I didn’t drain the grease all the way and it was a bit greasy 😅 Still tasted good though. Next time I’ll do it like the directions say. Also I might add a tiny bit of garlic powder.

  129. 5 stars
Made this for game night and it disappeared fast. Super creamy with just the right kick from the Rotel. The 5 minutes simmer is legit.

  130. User avatar Frodo Baggins says:

    5 stars
This is dangerously easy. The cream cheese + Rotel combo is so good—my whole family kept going back for “just one more” chip. Will definitely make again for game night.

    1. 4 stars
Wait… only 3 ingredients? That feels like cheating 😂 I’m gonna try it, but I might use less heat from the Rotel—last time spicy dips murdered my taste buds.

    2. 5 stars
Yes!! I made this for our game night and it disappeared fast. The Rotel tang really levels it up—so good with tortilla chips.
