Monster Cookies

October 24, 2025

Monster Cookies are a fun, colorful, and delicious treat perfect for Halloween or any time you want a playful dessert that’s packed with flavor. These cookies are filled with a mix of oats, peanut butter, chocolate chips, M&Ms, and sometimes even candy pieces, creating a chewy, crunchy, and indulgent snack. With their bright colors and quirky appearance, Monster Cookies are an easy way to bring a bit of spooky fun to your kitchen. They’re perfect for kids and adults alike, and the best part is that they’re fully customizable based on your favorite mix-ins!

To make Monster Cookies, start by preparing a classic cookie dough using butter, brown sugar, and peanut butter as the base. The oats add texture and chewiness, while the addition of eggs and vanilla enhances the flavor. Once the dough is mixed, stir in your chocolate chips, M&Ms, and any other fun additions like candy corn, chopped nuts, or sprinkles. The more colorful the mix-ins, the more vibrant and monster-like your cookies will be!

Scoop spoonfuls of the dough and shape them into rounds on a baking sheet, leaving enough space between each cookie for spreading. For extra monster appeal, you can press a few extra M&Ms or candy eyes onto the top of each cookie before baking, making them look like little monster faces. Bake the cookies until they’re golden on the edges but still soft in the middle, this will give them the perfect chewy texture.

Once they’re out of the oven, let the cookies cool before serving. The combination of peanut butter, oats, and candy makes these cookies both sweet and salty, with an irresistible texture that everyone will love. Whether you’re preparing them for a Halloween treat bag, a themed party, or just to enjoy on a cozy fall afternoon, Monster Cookies are a great way to add a bit of festive fun to your dessert table.

These cookies can also be easily adapted to suit dietary preferences. You can use vegan chocolate chip cookies recipe for a vegan version, swap the peanut butter for almond or sunflower seed butter if there are allergies, or use gluten-free oats for a gluten-free treat. Monster Cookies are as versatile as they are delicious!

What are M&Ms doing in cookies? Real cookies don’t need that junk! Just chocolate chips.

  4. 2 stars
Too sweet for my taste. I could hardly finish one. Might reduce the sugar next time.

Baking soda is confusing! I once forgot it too, and my cookies turned out like pancakes! 😂 You’ll get it right next time!

Don’t worry! Baking can be tricky, but practice makes perfect. Maybe try adding a little more flour next time to help with the flatness!

But like, how can cookies be that good? Everyone’s always saying their grandma’s are the best. Are you sure you didn’t just mess up the recipe?

    2. 5 stars

Why is there so much sugar? Can you cut that down? I think these would be better with less sweetness.

    1. User avatar edwardo.schmeler48 says:

      4 stars
I totally get where you’re coming from! Sometimes less sugar can totally enhance the flavors. Maybe try reducing the sugar by half a cup? Let us know how it goes!

Honestly, monster cookies are supposed to be sweet! That’s what makes them ‘monster’! If you don’t like sweet, just eat the cookie dough instead!

I added nuts, but they didn’t taste right. Maybe I put too many? I dunno, they just were kinda bland?

    1. User avatar mathew.spinka2022 says:

Maybe try using less nuts next time? They can overpower the flavors if there’s too many. Just a thought!

Monster cookies? More like monster disaster!! My dough was too sticky, and they spread out all over the place. 😩

Sounds like you did something wrong, maybe not enough flour? These cookies are amazing if done right.

    2. User avatar heath.walker says:

      4 stars
I had the same issue once! Maybe try chilling the dough next time? It could help it not spread so much.
