If you love bold flavors that dance between heat and sweetness, Sweet and Spicy Pork is a dish that deserves a place in your regular meal rotation. It’s the perfect combination of tender, juicy pork and a mouthwatering glaze that hits all the right notes – savory, sweet, tangy, and just the right amount of spicy.
What makes this dish so satisfying is the contrast of flavors and textures. The pork, whether it’s in the form of chops, tenderloin, or stir-fry slices, is cooked until golden and slightly crispy on the edges, while still remaining tender inside. The glaze – usually a blend of ingredients like honey or brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, chili flakes, or sriracha – coats the meat beautifully and creates a sticky, caramelized finish that’s hard to resist.
Sweet and Spicy Pork is also incredibly versatile. You can serve it with steamed rice, noodles, or lettuce wraps for a lighter option. Add stir-fried vegetables or a crisp cabbage slaw on the side for a complete and colorful meal. It works just as well for a quick weeknight dinner as it does for entertaining guests, thanks to its crowd-pleasing flavor.
This dish is a great entry point for home cooks looking to explore sweet-savory fusion dishes. With minimal prep and a few pantry staples, you can achieve restaurant-quality flavor in your own kitchen. Adjust the heat level to suit your taste, go mild with just a hint of chili, or turn it up for those who love fiery flavors.
Whether you’re cooking for yourself or a table full of hungry friends, Sweet and Spicy Pork is a flavorful, satisfying dish that’s sure to become a favorite. One bite, and you’ll see why this combination never goes out of style.

This was amazing! The perfect blend of sweet and spicy. My family loved it!
Is Sriracha really spicy? I can’t handle spice! I made it for my kids and they didn’t even eat it. 😞
Sriracha can be spicy, but it’s not the hottest! Maybe try using less or omit it next time? I’m sure your kids will love it. 😊
I think Sriracha is too much for kids too! You could just use ketchup, they might like it better. 🤷♂️
This was super delish! My whole family loved it! 😍
Easy to make! I used chicken instead of pork, and it still turned out great.
Chicken?? I thought this was a pork recipe. Isn’t that gonna change the taste a lot? 🤔
I love that you used chicken! It’s my go-to for everything. Can’t wait to try this now!
2 cloves garlic feels like a lot? I used one and it still smelled garlicky… maybe because the pork was sliced thin. Idk. Taste was ok.
I’m skeptical about pork tenderloin being “thin slices” without some extra prep. Still, the flavors are real—soy-honey-sriracha is a winner.
My family loved it! Even the picky eaters ate it!
Made this last night—so good. The honey + sriracha combo is honestly perfect, and the pork stayed juicy.
This was amazing! The sweet and spice combination is on point.
I’m glad you loved it! I’ve tried this recipe too, the flavors are just wow! 😍
Not gonna lie, it tasted a little too sweet for my family. Next time I’d reduce honey or add more garlic.
Sriracha should be banned. Too hot, ruined the dish for me.
Sweet pork? Really? But it turned out really good!
Pork? I thought this was a chicken recipe? Confused! -1 star for that.
It’s in the title! Sweet and Spicy Pork! Just read it before commenting. 5 stars for the recipe!
Delicious! Just the right amount of heat! Definitely making again.
sounds good.
Marinated mine a little longer (like 45 min) and the flavor went way deeper. Pork stayed tender too. Great weekday meal.
Love this! I let it marinate closer to 45 min too and yeah—the flavor really sinks in. Pork stayed super tender and it’s definitely a great fast weekday meal.
Sweet AND spicy on pork? Sounds weird. Also 15 minutes of marinating feels too short—mine didn’t have much flavor.
The flavor was solid, but 2-3 minutes per side felt a bit fast for my slices. I had to cook a little longer to make sure it was done.
I don’t know, it was too sweet for my taste. More spice would be better.
I agree! It was way too sweet for me too. Some chili flakes would have been perfect!
I followed it pretty much exactly, except I used pork chops instead of tenderloin and it was drier. Might be user error, but tenderloin seems key.
I dunno… the sauce seemed too sweet for my taste. Maybe less honey next time? Not really my thing tbh.
Wow, the sauce combo is legit. I marinated closer to an hour and the pork stayed super tender. Next time I might add a little extra garlic for more punch.
Nice recipe but too many steps. I got confused.
This is one of those recipes that looks fancy but is actually easy. I served it over rice and my whole family ate like it was restaurant food.
Disagree—Sriracha isn’t real spice unless you double it 😅 Also needs more veggies. But I ate it all so I guess it’s good.
Good recipe, but I would suggest less honey. Just a liitle bit too sweet for my liking. Not bad tho.
I agree! I thought it was a bit too sweet too. Maybe just 1 tbsp would work better?
Nah, I think the honey is perfect! Brings out the flavor of the pork!
So easy to make! I added some bell peppers for extra crunch. 🌶️
5 stars! Simple to follow and tastes great! Who knew pork could be this good? 🍖
I totally agree! This recipe is a lifesaver for weeknight dinners. 😋
Really? I tried it and it was kinda bland. Maybe I did something wrong?
I don’t know about sesame oil—one spoon made it taste kinda strong to me. Otherwise the marinade was tasty.
This combo of soy + honey + sriracha is dangerously good. I’ll definitely make it again—nice balance of sweet and heat.
Not sure about the amount of sesame oil—mine tasted a bit too strong. Might be different brands, but I’ll cut it next time.
I don’t think you should mix honey and soy sauce. Isn’t that a weird combo? But Iok it was alright.
Great! I didn’t even have green onions but it tasted good anyway. Thanks for the recipe!
Glad you liked it! Green onions make everything better, but it’s awesome that it still turned out tasty. 😊
I was skeptical about sesame oil in the marinade, but it actually makes everything taste more “restaurant.” I used pork shoulder by accident and it still worked, just needed longer cooking.
I followed it exactly and it came out tender and flavorful. Also the green onions step was clutch—didn’t overcook them.
Love hearing that! I feel like the green onions are where it all comes together—too long and they turn kinda dull. What cut of pork tenderloin did you use?
I tried this but my honey/sriracha mix got kinda thick and stuck to the pan. Still tasted good though. Any tip for keeping the sauce from caramelizing too hard?
Not sure I did it wrong, but mine came out kinda salty. I’m gonna try low-sodium soy sauce next time. The smell while cooking was awesome.
Ah that smell is the best, right? If it turned out salty, I’d check if your soy sauce is extra salty or if you accidentally used more than 3 tbsp. Also, don’t add much extra salt at the end—there’s already soy sauce in the marinade.
Maybe you cooked it too long and the honey caramelized into saltiness? Idk lol. But low-sodium soy sauce sounds smart. Next time try using less Sriracha too—mine got spicy AND salty once.
Hmm, I found it too sweet for my taste. Maybe less honey next time?
I think you might be right! I use less honey too. 3 tbsp is a lot! But we all have different tastes.
What’s Sriracha? Can I use regular hot sauce instead? Asking for a friend.
I accidentally used more Sriracha than the recipe (oops) and it was still good… just very spicy. Would recommend for spice lovers.
Wow! Easy to make and packed with flavor! I’m impressd. Will make again!
I totally agree! This dish is so tasty and quick to prepare. My family loved it!
Easy? Maybe. But I found it a bit bland. I think it needs more spices or something. 🤔
IDK if 15 min is enough for marinating. I always let it sit overnight. Just saying.
Are you serious? 15 mins should be enough. Don’t overthink it!
Overnight is def best for flavor! I might try that next time. 😊
Is Sriracha really necessary? I took it out, and it was just okay.
I don’t know… It was a bit too sweet for my taste. I’d prefer less honey.
I tried this recipe and thought it was too sweet. I guess I prefer savory dishes. Probably won’t make it again.
Meh. Too sticky-sweet for my palate. Also the directions are kinda basic.
I can’t cook, but this was simple enough! Taste was decent, my dog liked it more than I did! Woof!
I’m glad you found it simple! Cooking can be tough if you’re not used to it. Maybe your dog’s taste is more refined than you think! 😂
Really? Your dog liked it more? That’s funny! What did they do, beg for more? 🤣 Just remember to keep the Sriracha low if it’s for them!
Loved it! But my husband said it was ‘too sweet.’ He clearly doesn’t have good taste 🤣. 5/5 from me!
Too sweet? Nah, it was perfect! Your husband just needs to step up his taste buds! 🤷♀️
I thought it was too sweet too! But the flavors are great otherwise. Maybe try less honey next time!
5 stars! My daughter said it’s the best pork she’s ever had!
Made this for dinner and it slapped—sweet, spicy, and the garlic flavor is legit. I marinated closer to an hour and it was even better.
This dish is amazing! I can’t believe how quick it was to make. The flavors are to die for! 5 stars all the way!
Yum yum yum! The green onions added a nice touch too. Love this recipe!
Best pork recipe ever! I added some bell pepper and mushrooms. Yum!
Yum! So good! 😀
Easy and delicious! I added some broccoli for a bit of crunch. My kids loved it too. Will make again!
Kind of bland, added extra spices but still meh.
I thought it was delicious! Maybe you just need to adjust the spices to your taste. Everyone’s palate is different, right?
I followed it exactly, but my sauce got kinda thick and sticky in the pan. Not bad though—just needs a little more oil or less cook time.
This happened to me too. I think the honey + soy reduces fast—next time I’ll add a splash more oil/water and shorten the cook when it starts to go tacky.
Idk I follow it and my sauce was thin, maybe your pan was too hot? also 3 tbsp honey seems like a lot lol. Try medium-low and don’t let it simmer too long.
This is the first recipe that made me actually use sesame oil for real 😅 Tastes restaurant-level. I served it over rice and it was gone fast.
This was sooo good! The sweetness from the honey really paired well with the Sriracha! Definitely a keeper!
Yummy! I added some bell peppers for crunch, turned out great!
Followed the recipe exactly, but it got burned. Dunno what I did wrong.
Is Sriracha sauce really that spicy? I don’t want to burn my mouth off. Maybe I’ll just use ketchup instead.
Loved it, but I’m confused why it says to use salt if soy sauce already has salt. I ended up going light on salt and it was perfect.
Honestly the sriracha is pretty strong. My family said it’s “sweet spicy” but I think it’s mostly spicy lol. I’ll half the sriracha next time.
Not sure if I did something wrong but the sauce got a little sticky/burnt in my pan. Maybe my heat was too high. Next time I’ll lower it.
Made this tonight—so good. The honey + sriracha balance is perfect, and the pork stays juicy. I added a pinch of red pepper flakes too, just because.
Pretty good balance, but my honey made it a little sticky in the pan. Next time I’ll use slightly lower heat so it caramelizes less.
Honey makes it sticky? That’s what honey does 😅 I think next time you could also rinse the pan with a splash of water or add it later. Also 2-3 minutes each side seems kinda long for thin slices? Maybe adjust.
That makes sense—honey can definitely get tacky if the pan is too hot. I usually lower to medium-low and keep an eye on it so it doesn’t caramelize too hard. Good catch!
Yum!
Why does it say add cooking oil in step 3 but the ingredients list has none? I added some and it worked, just confusing lol.
Sweet and spicy? More like sweet and boring. Disappointed.
Hmmm… I followed it exactly but the sauce didn’t really cling. Maybe my pork was too wet or pan not hot enough?
