Sausage balls are a classic, crowd-pleasing appetizer that’s always a hit at parties, holiday gatherings, or casual family dinners. These savory bites are packed with flavor, combining the rich taste of sausage with the perfect balance of cheese and spices. They’re easy to make, and they bake up golden and crispy on the outside while remaining tender and juicy on the inside.
The recipe for sausage balls is simple, yet the results are irresistible. Ground sausage, typically breakfast sausage, is mixed with sharp cheddar cheese, flour, and a little baking powder to help them rise. Some variations might include seasonings like garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper for an extra kick. The mixture is rolled into bite-sized balls and baked until golden brown. The melted cheese creates a rich, flavorful coating, while the sausage keeps the balls juicy and satisfying.
Sausage balls are incredibly versatile and can be served in many ways. They make a great appetizer on their own, or you can pair them with dipping sauces such as mustard, ranch, or even a spicy sriracha mayo for a bit of heat. They’re also perfect for breakfast when served alongside eggs or a side of fruit.
One of the best things about sausage balls is that they’re easy to customize. You can switch up the type of cheese (try pepper jack for some heat or mozzarella for a milder flavor) or even add finely chopped herbs like parsley or thyme for added freshness. For a lighter version, you can substitute part of the sausage with turkey sausage or use a gluten-free flour blend.
Whether you’re looking for a quick snack or a satisfying addition to your next party spread, sausage balls are a guaranteed hit. They’re simple to prepare, fun to eat, and always full of flavor. Once you’ve tried them, they’ll likely become a go-to recipe for any occasion.

Why would anyone mix sausage and cheese? Sounds gross!
These are amazing! Perfect for parties or just a snack.
I tried these with turkey sausage and they were kinda dry, not the same taste as pork.
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about the biscuit mix. But wow, it actually binds really well. Mine were golden and not greasy.
I had the same skepticism—biscuit mix can be weird—but this totally works. The golden color is the key, and no grease means you likely didn’t overmix or bake too short. Nice!
Sausage balls are a classic! I added some jalapenos for a kick 😍👍!
Jalapenos sound awesome! I gotta try that next time! 🥳
Soo easy to make! Even my kids gobbled them up. Will make these again for sure!
I measured everything wrong (like, I free-poured the cheese). Somehow they still worked? Idk science but 10/10 would attempt again.
I don’t know about “free-poured” cheese working out… but I believe it. My first batch came out dry because I measured wrong too. Still ate them though 😂
Honestly that’s the best kind of kitchen magic 😄 Sausage balls are super forgiving—if they’re golden and cooked through, you’re golden.
Just made these and they were floppy! Not what I expected. Guess I need to follow the recipe better.
I thought this was going to be a disaster, but they actually turned out pretty good! Just like my grandma’s, kinda.
I’m so glad you liked them! I was worried they might be too greasy, but they were perfect. Definitely a keeper!
Totally easy and great for parties! Made these for a potluck, and they disappeared fast. Will definitely make again!
Pretty solid recipe. I mixed a little too long and they were slightly dense, but flavor was great. Next time I’ll just mix until combined.
Sausage balls?? What even is that? It just sounds weird. Who eats balls of sausage?
I followed the recipe pretty much exactly, but mine were a bit dry. I think my biscuit mix brand is drier than Bisquick? Anyone have tips to make them more moist?
The instructions were simple, but my balls wouldn’t hold shape at first. I added an extra spoon of biscuit mix and that fixed it. Tasted better after that.
Glad you got them to hold! Mine do the same thing if I don’t mix long enough—extra biscuit mix is a good save. 😄
Honestly? I didn’t taste that much cheese. It was fine, but I expected more flavor.
Huh, I think it’s more about the biscuit mix? Like the Bisquick kinda soaks it up. Also I always use spicy sausage, so maybe that makes mine stronger. Next time add extra cheese or a little garlic powder—won’t hurt.
Totally get that—2 cups cheddar for 1 lb sausage *should* punch more, but if you used mild cheese or smaller sausage portions, it can feel subtle. Maybe try a sharper cheddar (or even mix in some mozzarella for melt) and don’t overbake.
Recipe seems easy but idk how they will taste. Will try and let yall know.
I tried this and they came out dry. Maybe I needed more cheese? Not sure I’ll make again.
They turned out kinda dry for me… Maybe I overcooked them? Will try again tho!
Dry? I dunno. These were moist for me. You sure you mixed it good? 🤔
I had the same problem! Maybe try reducing the bake time a bit? They came out perfect for me at 22 minutes!
Seems too easy… is this a real recipe? Like, can’t it be messed up? 🤔
Wasn’t sure about the biscuit mix, but it turned out great! They are super cheesy and just right. Might add some spices next time.
I don’t know, biscuit mix?? Sounds weird. Just use flour like normal people!
Glad to hear it turned out great! The cheesy goodness is hard to resist. Adding spices sounds like a fantastic idea!
These are a hit at every party! Everyone loves them!
So easy to make! I added some garlic powder for extra flavor. Yum!
My husband said these are better than the ones from that chain place. We used mild cheddar and mild sausage, and they were perfect with a little hot sauce on the side.
I love biscuits, so I thought this would be a hit, but my family didn’t eat them. What a waste! 😔
These were amazing! Totally a crowd-pleaser at my party.
I’m so glad to hear that! They really are the best finger food for any get-together. Did you try them with a dipping sauce?
These were soooo good! My family devoured them. Thanks for the recipe!
I followed it exactly and they still didn’t hold together great. They tasted good, just kinda crumbly. Maybe I should’ve used room temp ingredients?
Could you use turkey sausage instead of this? Healthier right? Asking for a friend.
Better than I expected! Made them for a party and they were gone in no time.
They taste good, but I found them a bit greasy. Maybe next time I’ll drain the sausage first.
Greasy? Really? I thought they were perfect! But hey, everyone has their own taste, right?
I’ve had the same issue! Draining the sausage could really help cut down on the grease. I might try that next time too.
I found this recipe super greasy… maybe I used too much sausage? Not my fav.
Sausage + cheese = heaven! Could eat these all day. 😍
I tried it and they didn’t cook through until way longer than 25 minutes. Also my oven runs hot or something. I’d say check for internal temp if you have one.
Sausage balls for breakfast? Yes, please! Just made these and they were a hit at the brunch. Yum!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! These are perfect for breakfast!
I accidentally used pancake mix instead of biscuit mix. They tasted weird. Gotta pay better attention next time.
This recipe is a lifesaver! My kids ask for these every week! 🙌
I’m so glad to hear that! These sausage balls are a hit at my house too! 🥳
They can’t be that good… right? I mean, it’s just sausage and cheese? 🤔
Idk, never really liked sausage that much. They tasted okay I guess…but my husband loved them.
Tried this yesterday, but they burned! I guess I set the oven too high. Not gonna give up tho!
Mine were good, but I think I overmixed—ended up a bit dense. Next time I’ll mix just until combined. Flavor was still great though.
Yep, that sounds like overmixing—sausage balls can get dense if you work the dough too much. Glad the flavor still came out great though!
I dunno, seems kinda simple. How can these be that great? Might try them if I’m bored.
Simple doesn’t mean bad! Sometimes the easiest recipes are the tastiest. Plus, these are super quick to make!
I thought the same at first! But these sausage balls are surprisingly flavorful. Give them a try, you might be surprised!
These were surprisingly easy. I was worried about the texture, but they came out golden and not greasy. Next time I might make them slightly smaller so they bake evenly.
Totally agree—these are way easier than they sound. Mine also stayed golden and not greasy, which is such a relief. I do go a tiny bit smaller like you said and they seem to cook more evenly.
Hmm. I made them once and they were kinda dry for me. I think I used the wrong biscuit mix? Like, I used self-rising flour instead of Bisquick and it just… didn’t work lol. Do you cover them or flip them at all?
I don’t know, they were kinda bland. Maybe try adding some herbs or spices next time?
Pretty simple, and I appreciate that it doesn’t need anything fancy. Mine took closer to 28 minutes to be fully cooked, but still turned out golden.
Super easy and hard to mess up. Mine needed the full 25 minutes, but once I let them cool a bit they firmed up nicely. Great comfort food.
Sausage balls? What did I just read? 🤔 Aren’t they just meatballs?!
Wait—350°F for 20-25 min seems short. I baked mine and they weren’t fully cooked inside, had to do more time. But once fixed, they were tasty.
Did I miss the part about baking temp? I just did 350F and they turned out fine. But I don’t get why people love them so much.
I don’t usually trust recipes with biscuit mix, but this actually works. The outside gets that nice crust. I’d recommend mixing thoroughly—otherwise some bits don’t bind.
These sausage balls were dangerously easy. I used mild sausage and sharp cheddar and they came out super golden and tasty—would definitely make again for parties.
Not sure why people love these so much. They taste like breakfast sausage and biscuit mix mashed together… which, to be fair, is exactly what they are. I’ll eat them, but I wouldn’t make them again.
Nah, you’re overthinking it. They taste like sausage balls because… they are sausage balls lol. Use sharp cheddar and spicy sausage and they’re way better.
I get what you mean—they really are basically sausage + cheddar + biscuit mix doing its thing 😂 But I love that they’re savory and super snackable. I’d definitely make them again for parties.
How many balls do you get from this?! I mean, I need to make enough for everyone!
Idk, but these minors were kinda weird. They tasted funny to me. I put ketchup on them… 🤷♂️
I followed it but my mixture was super dry and wouldn’t really ball up. Could be my biscuit mix brand? I added a splash of water and it helped.
These are so salty—like, my tongue is still mad 😅. I used sharp cheddar and spicy sausage, so that might’ve been the problem. Flavor was there, balance wasn’t.
These were dangerously good. The cheddar + biscuit mix makes them super savory and tender. I used mild sausage and they still had great flavor.
I think these were a bit too salty for my taste, but the flavour is nice otherwise.
These sausage balls are so yummy! I added some hot sauce for a kick and it was the best!
Sausage balls? Sounds weird. Why would you mix sausage with cheese and biscuits? Hmm… yeah IDK about this.
I can’t wait to try this! Hot sauce is such a good idea. I’m drooling just thinking about it!
Easy recipe! I love making these on Sunday for brunch with my family. Thanks!
These sausage balls are AMAZING! I brought them to a party and they were gone in minutes!
Yeah, but mine always end up too dry. What am I doin’ wrong?
I’m so glad you liked them! They really are a hit at any get-together. Did you use spicy sausage?
I messed it up, thought it was for cookies. They just taste like meatballs lol. Not for me.
Is 1 inch really the right size? Mine melted together into a big blob situation. I guess I rolled them too loosely.
These are AMAZING! I made them for a party and they were gone in minutes. Will definitely make again!
Way too salty for me. I used sharp cheddar (maybe that’s the problem) and spicy sausage—should’ve gone mild. My fault, but yeah… salty.
I always make sausage balls around holidays and this is a classic. The method is solid and the 1-inch balls are a nice size—cook evenly.
Wow, I used hot sausage and sharp cheese, and they are fire! 🔥
Omg, so delish!
These are dangerously easy. I used mild sausage and sharp cheddar—perfect salty bite. Mine took closer to 25 minutes but they came out golden and not greasy. Will make again for parties!
Super easy to make! My lil’ kids helped roll them into balls and they had so much fun. Will definitely make these again!
Wow, that sounds like such a fun activity! I bet the kids loved it. Sausage balls are super tasty too!
These sausage balls are AMAZING! I made them for a party and they disappeared in minutes. Everyone loved them!
I never thought these would be so easy! Thanks for sharing!
These are basically the only snack I make when I’m short on time. Cheap-ish, filling, and everyone asks for the recipe.
Yes! These are my go-to too—so fast and they disappear immediately. I add a little extra cheese and they still turn out great.
These are dangerously good. I used mild sausage and sharp cheddar, and they came out perfectly golden in about 22 minutes. Super easy—will make again for sure.
These came out so good—super cheesy and flavorful. I used mild sausage and they still had a nice kick. Definitely making them again for game night!
Meh. 350 for 25 mins didn’t do it for me, still felt kinda raw. Also the mix was super sticky.
Made these for game night and they disappeared fast. I used mild sausage and sharp cheddar—perfectly cheesy and a little spicy. Definitely adding to my regular rotation.
Honestly, it’s just sausage + cheese + biscuit mix. Kinda basic. I mean, sure it’s good, but I wouldn’t say it’s anything special.
Honestly, I don’t get the hype. They tasted like every other sausage ball I’ve had. Not bad, just not special.
I tried it and they were dry. Also, I think I should’ve added more cheese? Not sure. Won’t lie, I was expecting more juiciness.
I’m not sure why they call it sausage balls—mine looked more like sausage blobs 😂 Still tasty though.
So good! I added a tiny bit of garlic powder and it made them taste like they came from a bakery (not even kidding).
Not a big fan, they turned out too dry for me. Maybe add some milk next time?
My family devoured them. Next time I’m adding a little garlic powder and maybe some cayenne because the flavor was good but could be bolder.
These sausage balls are amazing! I made them for a party and everyone loved them!
These came out so good—crispy outside and cheesy inside. I used mild sausage and it was perfect for my picky eaters.
Made these tonight and they disappeared fast. The 1-inch balls were perfect—crispy edges, gooey inside. I used mild sausage and sharp cheddar and it was spot on.
Yes!! I swear 1-inch is the sweet spot—crispy outside, melty center. Glad you nailed it!
Tried these but mine came out a little dry… maybe I overbaked or used too lean sausage? Still tasted good though.
The texture was great, but I wish the recipe said whether to line the baking sheet. I had some sticking.
Sausage balls? LOL, never heard of them before. But now I’m curious! Can you use chicken instead of sausage?
You can definitely use chicken! Just make sure to season it well so it’s flavorful like sausage.
I dunno about chicken… kinda defeats the purpose, don’t you think? Sausage is where the flavor’s at!
I followed the recipe but mine were a little dry. Next time I’ll maybe use a slightly fattier sausage or mix less. Flavor was on point!
Glad the flavor was still on point! Dry ones usually mean the mix needed a touch more fat or a slightly shorter bake—next time I’d pull them when they’re just golden, not fully dark.
Maybe you mixed them too long? I always end up with tougher/drier balls if I overwork the sausage. Also, 25 min sounds a little high for my oven—mine get dry if I do full time.
I was skeptical about the biscuit mix, but it actually gives them a nice texture. Next time I might add a little garlic powder because… why not.
idk i felt like 2 cups cheese is too much… but i guess it worked. kids liked it, so fine.
Not as good as I expected. They were a bit dry. Maybe add more cheese next time?
I think they need more seasoning too! Maybe some garlic powder or herbs could help. But I agree, they can get dry if not careful.
These sausage balls are a hit at every party! Made them last night and gone in minutes. 5 stars!
Five stars. Quick snack. Tastes like party food, lol.
I followed it exactly but mine were a little greasy. Maybe my sausage was extra fatty? Still tasty though, just not as firm as I expected.
Not gonna lie, I expected more flavor. They’re good, but kinda salty and heavy. Maybe I’ll try half the cheese next time or use a less salty biscuit mix.
I didn’t have biscuit mix so I used regular flour + baking powder… they were edible, but not the same texture. Probably need the Bisquick-type mix.
Pretty easy, but my balls were a little dry after 25 minutes. Next time I’ll pull them closer to 20 and maybe mix a tiny bit more fat from the sausage.
Yeah, 25 minutes can be a bit much depending on your oven and how big you make them. I usually do 18-20 and they come out way juicier.
These are dangerously easy. I used mild sausage and sharp cheddar—perfectly savory and not greasy. Mine were done closer to 22 minutes.
Made these for game night and they disappeared fast. The cheddar + biscuit mix combo is perfect. I used mild sausage and it still had great flavor.
Yum!
Not bad. My “1-inch balls” turned into weird blobs because my mix was too sticky. Maybe I should chilled the bowl first? They still tasted good.
These came out so good—crispy edges, melty inside. I used mild sausage and sharp cheddar and it was perfect. Definitely making again for game night.
These sausage balls are fantastic! Perfect for game day snacks.
I just made these for the game last weekend and everyone loved them! They were gone in no time!
Yumm! I could eat these all day long! So easy to make and everyone loves them! 😊
These are definitely a crowd-pleaser! So simple yet delicious! 😍
I tried making them, but they turned out too greasy. Maybe I used too much sausage? 🤔
Not bad, but mine were a little dry. I think I overbaked them or my sausage was extra lean. Still tasty though, just not as juicy as I hoped.
Yeah, extra-lean sausage can definitely dry these out. Next time I’d try slightly shorter bake time (like pull at ~20 min) and/or use a fattier sausage. Also make sure your oven isn’t running hot.
Mine was dry too once… I think I mixed too much? Like, I stirred it a ton. I’m gonna try less mixing next time and maybe add a tiny splash of milk? Not sure though. Still good!
I tried this with spicy sausage and it was a hit, but my oven runs hot. I checked at 18 minutes and pulled them early. Still cooked through and the cheese stayed nice and stretchy.
Yummy! but can I use something else instead of biscuit mix? Like bread crumbs?
Bread crumbs might work, but it won’t be the same texture. Biscuit mix gives it that fluffy bite! 🌟
Okay but 2 cups biscuit mix for only 1 pound of sausage and 2 cups cheese?? Sounds off. I added a bit more mix because they wouldn’t really hold shape at first. Otherwise good.
I get what you mean—2 cups mix to 1 lb sausage can feel light at first. I usually trust the timing/texture: the balls should be pretty firm before baking, but it’s normal to need a touch more if your sausage is extra greasy or the cheese is super melty.
I followed the steps exactly, but mine came out a bit dense. Maybe I mixed too long? Still tasty though—definitely salty in a good way.
Ok, I followed it, but mine were a bit salty. I think my cheddar was extra sharp and my sausage was also seasoned. Still tasty though—just adjust the seasoning next time.
Made these for game night and they disappeared fast. Crispy on the outside, nice and cheesy inside. I used spicy sausage and it was perfect.
I made them too and mine weren’t “crispy” so much as kinda dry 😕 I think I baked a little too long. Still tasty though—next time I’ll pull them at closer to 20 mins.
Yes!! Totally agree—these are dangerously snackable. I love that crispy outside + melty cheesy center combo. Game night perfection.
Mine browned fast at 20 minutes but the centers still felt a tiny bit soft, so I ended up going closer to 28. Still tasty though—will adjust cooking time.
Um… sausage balls are good I guess. I made them once and they were fine. 😅
‘Um… good I guess’ is me with basically anything—lol. I think mine needed more time though; halfway they looked raw and I freaked out.
Glad you liked them! 😄 20-25 minutes is usually perfect—when they’re really golden on top they’re done.
I followed it exactly, but mine were kind of dry. Maybe I should’ve used more cheese or a different biscuit mix?
If you used the same bake time/temp, dry sausage balls usually means not enough fat/moisture from the mix—more cheese can help, but also make sure you’re not overbaking. I’d try 20 minutes first and pull them as soon as they’re golden and cooked through (they keep a little after).
Good flavor, but mine were a bit dry after 25 minutes. Next time I’ll check closer to 20 and maybe add a tiny splash of milk to the mix.
Dry at 25? Hm. I’ve found the biscuit mix brand matters—some are drier than others. Also, don’t overbake “just because.” You might try weighing the balls so they cook evenly.
That sounds frustrating—25 minutes can definitely tip them dry depending on your oven. I do 20 minutes and pull when they’re just golden. A splash of milk is a good fix too!
Sausage and cheese? My 7-year-old ate 10 of these! Simple and tasty. Soft, but not mushy.
Wow, 10 of them? That’s impressive! Kids really have a way of making us realize what’s good. These sausage balls are a hit!
Did you say 10?! That’s crazy! I don’t think kids should eat that many sausage balls at once. Seems a bit much…
Mine kinda fell apart on the tray… I think I packed the balls too lightly. Still ate them all tho lol.
Super easy, but I think 20 minutes wasn’t enough for my oven. I ended up doing closer to 28 and they were fully cooked.
I used low-fat cheese and it didn’t melt as nicely. With regular cheddar it’ll probably be way better.
Super easy! Five stars. 🙂
Right? They’re basically foolproof—golden outside, tender inside. Thanks for the 5 stars! 😊
Tried making these once. Didn’t rise like my grandma’s biscuits. Kinda sad..
I know how you feel! Mine didn’t turn out either. Maybe I mixed it too much or something. I really wanted to impress my family like grandma does!
I don’t know how you can call these ‘cooked.’ I followed the instructions and they were still kinda mushy inside.
I followed it pretty much exactly, but the outside got a little too dark before the center felt fully cooked. I’d probably bake 18-20 and then let them sit a few minutes.
That makes sense. I’ve had the same issue when my balls were a little bigger—18-20 mins then a short rest is a good call.
Maybe your oven runs hot? Mine does sometimes, so I drop it to 325°F and they come out perfect without getting too dark.
I’m not sure about the biscuit mix measurement. I used a whole different brand and the dough didn’t seem to bind right. Might be the biscuit mix brand thing, but it got messy.
Turned out good, but my balls took closer to 30 minutes to fully cook in the center. Still tasty though—crispy outside, cheesy inside.
Mine didn’t brown much, and the inside was a little undercooked even after 25 minutes. I had to bake like 10 more minutes. Any idea why?
Could be your oven temp being a bit off (or the baking sheet/material). I’ve noticed sausage balls sometimes need closer to 30–35 min depending on how packed the balls are and whether your sausage has extra grease. Also, 1-inch balls can vary—if yours were bigger or denser, 25 min won’t be enough.
I’m not sure about the biscuit mix, it seems weird. Is it really necessary?
I tried it but my oven runs hot (probably) so I burned the bottoms. Please bake on a center rack, and watch them. Still kinda good if you rescue them!
These sausage balls are a total crowd-pleaser. I used mild sausage and extra sharp cheddar and they turned out perfectly golden. Definitely making again for the next game day.
Yes! Made these with mild sausage and extra-sharp cheddar too—so good. Mine stayed nice and golden after 22 minutes. Definitely pinning this for game day.
I tried it but my balls came out kinda dry and the cheese didn’t melt like I expected. Maybe I baked too long or my biscuit mix was old? Still tasty though, just not as “perfectly golden” as yours.
Pretty easy, not gonna lie. I’ve tried other sausage balls that were dry, but these stayed tender. Next time I’ll add a little extra cheese just because.
So glad they stayed tender! “Add a little extra cheese” is a solid move—more gooey factor always wins 😄
Good comfort food. Mine took closer to 28 minutes though—my oven runs hot/crazy. Still turned out great and the texture was perfect.
These sausage balls are dangerously easy. I made them spicy with the hot sausage and they disappeared fast at my family get-together. Next time I’ll maybe add a little extra cheese because why not.
So easy to make! I prefer my sausage spicy and it turned out delish.
I followed the recipe but they came out kinda salty—probably because my sausage was already seasoned and my cheese was sharp. Reduce salt next time (if that’s even possible).
Totally get it—sharp cheddar + already-seasoned sausage is basically a salt bomb. Next time I’d try mild cheese or use less cheese, and maybe look for an “unsalted” biscuit mix if you can. Reducing the sausage seasoning might help too.
Maybe your oven temp is too high? If they dry out, it feels saltier. Also I think the recipe says sharp cheddar but that’s like… saltier than normal. Could use less cheese or bake a few mins shorter. Just my thought.
Not sure about the ratio. With my sausage being extra fatty, the mix seemed a bit wet and the balls spread slightly. Still tasted fine though.
Easy recipe, love that it’s just mixing and baking. Mine took closer to 28 minutes to fully cook, but they were golden and not dry.
350°F? That feels low… I baked mine closer to 35 minutes and they browned way better. Not sure if my oven runs hot or if mine needed longer.
I’m skeptical because biscuit mix can be kinda weird, but these actually held together really well. The cheese pull factor is real.
Wow—so fast. I made these last-minute for brunch and everyone asked for the recipe. Next time I’ll do smaller balls so they crisp more.
Honestly, the ratio seems solid. I added a little garlic powder because… why not. Still turned out great and the texture was spot-on. 9/10 sausage ball energy.
Yes!! This is exactly the sweet spot. I also usually add a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder—doesn’t mess with the ratio, just boosts it. Glad your texture stayed spot-on 🙌
I don’t know… garlic powder sounds fine but 9/10 sausage ball energy is a lot 😅 I tried a “ratio” once and they were too dry. Did you use spicy sausage or mild? I’m trying to figure out what makes them stay tender.
I like how simple this is. 1-inch balls were a little time-consuming but worth it. Next time I’ll make them slightly bigger so they stay juicier.
I followed the recipe exactly, and they turned out greasy. I’m wondering if 350°F is too low or if I should drain the sausage first. Otherwise, flavor was decent.
Greasy is usually from fat not cooking off fast enough. I’d try draining any excess grease from the sausage first (especially if it’s very fatty), and also make sure you’re baking on a light sheet without crowding. If they’re pale at 20–25 min, go closer to 30 and keep an eye for that fully golden outside.
Yum.
I don’t know why people make these so often—kinda bland to me unless you go heavy on seasoning. Maybe add black pepper or a pinch of cayenne next time.
Totally get that. I use a generous pinch of black pepper and a little cayenne sometimes, and it makes a big difference. Also if your cheddar is mild, it can really come off bland—sharp cheddar helps a lot.
Only 20-25 min?? Seems suspicious lol. But yeah, they were done—golden on top and cooked in the middle. I’d still watch them closely though.
Easy. Yummm
Easy and hard to mess up. I added a little garlic powder just because, but the base recipe is solid.
Totally agree—these are my “no-fail” snack too. I’ve made them with both mild and spicy sausage and they still come out great every time. That little garlic powder sounds like a solid upgrade.
Simple and tasty! I didn’t have enough cheddar so I used a mix of cheddar and mozzarella—still turned out good. Would make again.
Love that! The cheddar + mozzarella combo makes sense—sounds extra melty. 😊 I usually stick with sharp cheddar but I’ll try your mix next time.
Not bad, but 350°F felt too low. I baked them longer and they got browner, but the centers took forever.
These are dangerously addictive. Like… I ate like half the tray before anyone arrived 😂 Would’ve liked a dipping sauce recommendation, but wow.
Half the tray?! 😅 I relate. These are dangerously good—crispy outside, cheesy inside. I’d also love a sauce idea though!
350°F for 20-25 minutes feels a bit short for 1-inch balls, not gonna lie. I pulled mine too early and they were a little greasy in the middle.
1-inch balls? I made them bigger like golf balls and they turned out okay, just longer bake time. Easy recipe, no stress.
350°F seems a bit low? Mine took closer to 35 minutes to cook through. They tasted good, but timing feels off depending on oven/size.
I followed the recipe but my mixture was really dry, like it wouldn’t really bind well. Maybe my biscuit mix was older? Ended up adding a splash of water/extra cheese.
Soooo cheesy. I used sharp cheddar and spicy sausage and they were a hit. My kids even asked for “more balls.”
Yes! “More balls” is the best compliment 😂 Sharp cheddar + spicy sausage sounds perfect. I bet they come out extra flavorful.
