Roasted Sweet Potato Salad is a vibrant and wholesome dish that perfectly balances flavor, texture, and nutrition. Sweet potatoes, with their natural sweetness and hearty texture, make a fantastic base for a salad that feels both satisfying and refreshing. Roasting them brings out their rich, caramelized flavor, while a mix of fresh greens, crunchy vegetables, and zesty dressings creates a dish that’s as visually stunning as it is delicious.
What sets this salad apart is its versatility. It can be served warm, straight from the oven, or chilled for a refreshing side dish, making it suitable for any season. In colder months, roasted sweet potatoes add a comforting, cozy element, while in the summer, they bring a burst of color and flavor to picnics or barbecues. This salad is also perfect as a side for grilled meats, a topping for grain bowls, or even as a main course for a lighter meal.
Nutritionally, roasted sweet potatoes are a powerhouse ingredient. They’re rich in vitamins A and C, potassium, and fiber, making them a great choice for anyone seeking a healthy yet satisfying dish. Their natural sweetness pairs beautifully with savory toppings like feta or goat cheese, earthy greens like kale or arugula, and bright notes from citrus or vinaigrette dressings. A sprinkle of nuts or seeds adds crunch and healthy fats, completing the flavor profile and turning this salad into a well-rounded meal.
Another appealing feature of this dish is its ability to be easily customized. You can toss in roasted chickpeas for extra protein, add avocado for creaminess, or experiment with spices like paprika or cumin to give the sweet potatoes a smoky or spiced kick. The ingredients are simple, yet the combination feels gourmet, making this a great go-to recipe for entertaining guests or meal prepping for the week.

This salad was so delicious! The sweetness of the potatoes pairs perfectly with the feta. My new favorite dish!
Not sure what the hype is about… Sweet potatoes in a salad? That’s kinda weird. I’ll stick to regular salad!
I agree! This salad is truly a delight! I never thought sweet potatoes and feta would work so well together. Will be making this again!
Really easy to make! Love it! I added some nuts for crunch, yum!
Tasty but I can’t believe people rave about this salad. It’s just some veggies! 😂
This salad was delicious! The sweet potatoes really brought out the flavors.
I’m glad you loved it! Sweet potatoes are the best! 😊
Roasted sweet potatoes are the best! But I don’t get the point of adding honey?? Seemed unnecessary for me.
I followed the recipe exactly but it turned out a bit bland. Maybe add more honey or spices?
Was expecting more flavor, but it was okay. Sweet potatoes need more seasoning!
I completely agree! A little more salt and some garlic would really bring out the flavors. A bit disappointed with this one too.
I thought it was pretty good! Maybe you just have different taste buds? Sweet potatoes are naturally sweet, they don’t need too much seasoning.
Yum! I added some walnuts for crunch. So good!!
This recipe is a hit in my family! Even the kids ate their veggies!
Why would you put feta in a salad? It just makes it taste weird. I used cheddar instead, much better! 🤢
Sweet potatoes are not for salads! People should eat them baked only! Crazy mix up.
I dunno, I think sweet potatoes and salad just don’t mix well. Can’t say I’m a fan.
I get what you’re saying! Sweet potatoes can be a bit too sweet for a salad for some people. Maybe try it without the sweet potatoes next time?
Sweet potatoes + feta is a solid combo, I’ll give it that. But I’m not sure about honey—felt kinda unnecessary, like a dessert vibe.
Totally get that—honey can make it feel more dessert-y. I think it’s just there to balance the balsamic’s sharpness though. If you want, try using less (or skip it) and add a pinch of sugar to taste only if needed.
I forgot to preheat the oven and it took way longer than expected. LOL.
Too sweet for me. The honey + balsamic felt overpowering—maybe I’ll cut the honey in half next time.
Totally get that—sweet potatoes + honey can run a little wild. Cutting the honey in half should balance it out nicely. You could also taste the dressing first and add more balsamic if you want it tangier.
This was delicious! I substituted arugula for spinach and it turned out amazing!
Arugula instead of spinach? I don’t know if that’s a good swap… Is it really better? 🤔
That sounds so good! I love how you made it your own with the arugula. I’ll have to try that next time! 👍
sweet pear and feta salads better tho
Yummm! Feta and sweet potatos are a bliss! Will definitely make again.
Absolutely! The combo of feta and sweet potatoes is just perfect. Glad you liked it! 😊
I don’t know, sweet potatoes and feta? Sounds weird to me. 🤔
Too much honey in the dressing I think. Just a bit less next time, you know?
I’m not usually a salad person, but this actually felt hearty. Feta gives it that salty punch and the spinach wilts just slightly from the warm potatoes—nice.
Eh, it was just alright. The spinach got kinda mushy.
I love sweet potatoes! They are my favorites!
That honey dressing is super good. I could drink it!
Drinking dressing sounds gross. Just use it on salad like a normal person!
I totally agree! The honey dressing makes everything better!
Pretty solid recipe. I’d just say 25 minutes wasn’t enough for my cubes—more like 35—so keep an eye on them.
The flavor balance is nice, but my feta melted a bit (oops) because I waited too long to mix. Still tasted good though.
Totally get that—feta can get melty fast if it sits after mixing. Next time I’d add it right before serving or give it a super gentle toss. Glad it still tasted good though!
hmm i think you just needed to heat the feta less? like maybe put it on top after roasting and don’t stir too much. sweet potato salad always good but balsamic + honey can be too sweet if you do it wrong. still nice save lol
Looks healthy, tastes decent. I’d give it 10 stars but my oven is broken so it came out more “baked” than “roasted.”
I substituted goat cheese for feta and used apple cider vinegar instead of balsamic—still amazing. I’m picky and this worked!
Is this really healthy? Sweet potatos are carbs! Not sure about this recipe.
Rating based on expectation since I haven’t made this yet. We are traveling to relatives for Thanksgiving this year and have been asked to provide a salad and plan to try this one. We may use butternut squash to lower the sweetness factor, though we’ve talked about kicking it back up by adding some chopped pralines. Will try to remember to report back.
Balsamic vinegar over spinach? Seems like it would get soggy fast. I served immediately like the recipe says and it was fine, but I wouldn’t make this for later.
