Fried Eggs With Dill is a simple yet flavorful dish perfect for breakfast or brunch. The fresh dill adds a unique herby flavor to the eggs, taking them to the next level.

Fried eggs with dill is a simple yet flavorful dish that elevates a basic breakfast staple with the fresh, aromatic taste of herbs. Known for its ease of preparation and comforting appeal, it combines the richness of eggs with the bright, slightly tangy notes of dill, creating a balanced and satisfying meal.

The dish begins with eggs cooked in a pan until the whites are set and the yolks reach the desired level of doneness. Whether preferred sunny-side up, over-easy, or fully cooked, fried eggs provide a rich and creamy base. The addition of fresh dill transforms the flavor profile, adding a light herbal freshness that cuts through the natural richness of the eggs.

Dill is particularly well suited to eggs because of its delicate yet distinctive flavor. It brings a subtle hint of citrus and grassiness that enhances the dish without overpowering it. Often, the dill is sprinkled on top just before serving, allowing its aroma and taste to remain fresh and vibrant.

This dish can be enjoyed on its own or paired with a variety of sides. Toast, crusty bread, or roasted potatoes are common accompaniments, while fresh vegetables or salads can add extra texture and nutrition. It can also be served as part of a larger breakfast or brunch spread.

Fried eggs with dill is appreciated not only for its flavor but also for its simplicity and speed. It requires minimal ingredients and can be prepared in just a few minutes, making it ideal for busy mornings or light meals. Despite its simplicity, it offers a satisfying combination of richness and freshness.

With its quick preparation and refreshing herbal twist, fried eggs with dill remains a comforting and versatile dish that brings a touch of brightness to everyday cooking.

Wow, a dozen eggs? That’s a lot! Did you use butter like the recipe says?

  2. 4 stars
LOL I thought fried eggs were fried in oil, not butter! So I messed up the first time but figured it out. 😂

    1. User avatar Spider Guardian says:

      5 stars
Haha, don’t worry! Butter makes them taste even better! Glad you figured it out. 😄

Why do people even put dill on eggs? They taste totally fine without any herbs, really.

    1. User avatar Jodie Macejkovic says:

      2 stars
Honestly, dill?? Why? Just eat the eggs plain if you ask me. Herbs are overrated!

Come on, dill adds a nice flavor! It’s not just about the eggs, it’s about the experience. You should try it sometime.

Not a big fan of runny yolks. I cooked mine longer but they ended up too hard. Might try again with scrambled eggs.

  6. User avatar Trin Tragula says:

I don’t see the big deal about dill. Just use some regular spices. 😕

These eggs were okay… but I think they need something more, like cheese or something. Dill isn’t my favorite.

    1. User avatar Hasimir Fenring says:

      3 stars
Uhh, but dill is what makes them special, right? Cheese is good, but why not try a bit of both?

    2. User avatar Android 18 says:

      5 stars
I think adding cheese is a great idea! It would make the eggs so creamy. Dill is nice, but cheese is life!

Cheese? Really? I thought this was just about eggs and dill. Sounds weird!

  24. 3 stars
Mine didn’t come out runny—the whites set way too fast. I guess my pan was hotter than I thought. Still tasty though.

  25. User avatar Beregond says:

Pretty basic recipe if ya ask me, just eggs and butter. Did anyone expect magic?

  26. User avatar cristopher.west says:

Tried this for breakfast and it came out so good—runny yolks with the dill are such a nice combo. I used a pinch more pepper than “to taste” and it was perfect.

    1. 5 stars
Yes!! I’ve been looking for a reason to use dill with eggs and this combo is perfect. Runny yolks are the way.

    2. User avatar alfred.altenwerth1993 says:

      4 stars
I tried it too—mine came out a little underdone (yolks too runny), but the flavor was still amazing. Next time I’ll give it 30-60 seconds more.

  27. User avatar ashley.gorczany says:

    5 stars
Wow, this is the best way to fry eggs! I’ll never go back to plain eggs again!

  28. 4 stars
Love it! Quick breakfast. Dill is awesome, but I only had dry. Still good!

Tried this but my yolks didn’t stay runny… maybe I cooked a bit too long. Still tasted great though, especially with the fresh dill.

    1. User avatar rupert.ankunding says:

      5 stars
Yeah, 3–4 minutes can vary a lot by pan and heat—medium can still run hot. Next time try a slightly lower heat or pull them a minute earlier. Glad the dill helped though!

  31. 1 star
This is… okay. Eggs are eggs.

  32. User avatar terminatorXYZ says:

    2 stars
I burned my eggs… not sure if it was me or your instructions! A bit confusing. 🤔

  33. User avatar tissues_with_issues says:

    3 stars
I tried it with dried dill once and it didn’t hit the same. Fresh is worth it here—otherwise bland.

  34. User avatar Dr. Troy Terry says:

    3 stars
I dunno about putting dill on eggs. Sounds weird but I guess it’s worth a shot.

    1. 4 stars
Trust me, it sounds odd but dill on eggs is surprisingly good! Give it a try!

  35. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    3 stars
My yolks didn’t stay runny… maybe my pan runs hot. But even then it still tasted great. Also, dill is strong—start with less if you’re not into that kind of herby thing.

  36. User avatar CTRLplusW says:

    5 stars
    Delicious!

  37. User avatar Mr. Barten says:

    4 stars
Pretty good, but 3-4 minutes felt a bit long for my pan. I pulled mine earlier so the yolk stayed runny. Dill flavor was nice though.

  38. User avatar jesse.wolff2008 says:

    3 stars
Looks easy, but cracking two eggs without breaking yolks is harder than it sounds. I failed once lol. Flavor saved it.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree—keeping the yolk intact is way harder than people make it sound 😅 But your last line “flavor saved it” is so real.

  39. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

    4 stars
I’m not usually into dill in savory stuff, but this surprised me. The aroma is strong in a good way. Would make again.

  40. 2 stars
Mine stuck a little even though I used non-stick. Also, “to taste” salt/pepper is useless if you’re lazy like me 😅

    1. User avatar alpha.larson85 says:

      4 stars
Ugh, that’s frustrating—mine has stuck before too if the pan isn’t fully preheated. Next time I’ll try a tiny extra bit of butter right when the eggs go in.

    2. User avatar matilde.cartwright2023 says:

      3 stars
“To taste” is savage lol. I always put a pinch of salt + pepper and call it a day 😅 Also if yours stuck, maybe your dill hit the heat too soon? (I mean… maybe?)
