If you’re in the mood for something a bit different, a Five-Spice Grilled Beef Salad is an excellent choice. This dish combines the smoky, savory goodness of grilled beef with the fragrant, aromatic flavors of Chinese five-spice powder, resulting in a salad that’s bursting with flavor. It’s a perfect mix of textures and tastes, offering a satisfying meal that’s both hearty and refreshing.
The key to this salad’s bold taste is the five-spice seasoning. This classic Chinese blend typically includes star anise, cloves, Chinese cinnamon, Sichuan peppercorns, and fennel seeds. When applied to beef, it creates a fragrant and slightly spicy rub that gives each bite a depth of flavor that’s unlike anything you’d get from your standard salad.
Grilling the beef adds another layer of complexity to the dish. The high heat sears the outside of the meat, locking in the juices and creating a smoky charred flavor that complements the spice blend perfectly. After grilling, the beef is thinly sliced, making it easy to mix into a bed of crisp greens and vegetables.
For the salad base, you can use a variety of fresh vegetables such as mixed greens, cucumbers, and shredded carrots. The freshness of the veggies contrasts beautifully with the richness of the beef. A tangy dressing made from soy sauce, rice vinegar, and a touch of sesame oil ties everything together, providing a light yet flavorful contrast to the spiced meat.
Not only does this Five-Spice Grilled Beef Salad pack a punch in terms of flavor, but it’s also a nutritious choice. The beef offers a great source of protein, while the vegetables provide essential vitamins and fiber. The dressing adds healthy fats from sesame oil, making this a well-rounded meal that will keep you full without feeling heavy.
In short, this Five-Spice Grilled Beef Salad is a delicious and exciting way to elevate your salad game. With its bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and satisfying texture, it’s sure to become a new favorite in your meal rotation.

I messed up the grilling part and ended up with beef jerky… sad. But the salad was good!
I substituted chicken for the beef because I’m not a big beef fan. It turned out great! 4 stars.
Way too much soy sauce for me. Watch the salt if you’re cooking it!
I thought the soy sauce added a great depth of flavor! But I guess not everyone likes it salty. Maybe just reduce it next time!
Delish! 😋 Can’t wait to tell my friends about this.
Looks good but I’m not sure about the five-spice…isn’t that too strong?
So glad you liked it! It’s a hit for my family too! 🥗
This salad is just amazing! The flavors are perfect together.
Tried it, but the beef was overcooked. Maybe I grilled it too long? Not sure I’d make it again.
Maybe try grilling for less time next time? I cooked mine for just 1-2 min and it was perfect!
Overcooked beef? That shouldn’t happen if ya follow the steps! Did you really marinate it well? 🤔
Took me longer than expected to cook the beef. Should’ve used a higher heat!
Five-spice? Sounds weird, what is that even? Can’t trust this recipe.
Lol, I don’t see how spices can be weird. You can skip it if you want, but don’t knock it till you try it!
Five-spice is actually super tasty! It’s a blend of spices used in many Asian dishes. Give it a try before judging!
Yummy! I didn’t have peanuts, so I used sunflower seeds. Still worked!
I don’t know why you would put peanuts in a salad. Seems odd to me.
Gave this a shot. The peanuts are a nice touch. Could use more seasoning, though.
I think the sauce was too sweet for my taste. Maybe a little less honey next time?
Why would you put all these spices? Just grill the beef and eat it with rice.
Absolutely delicious! I recommend adding avocado for extra creaminess!
I totally agree! Avocado would make it even better! I’m going to try that next time.
So easy to make! I added some extra veggies and it turned out great!
Wow, extra veggies? That’s a smart idea! I’m definitely trying that next time. 😄
This salad is amazing! The five-spice really kicks it up a notch! Will definitely make it again.
I totally agree! That five-spice really adds a unique flavor. Can’t wait to try it myself!
I thought this was supposed to be spicy. Where’s the heat? Disappointing.
Easy to make and tastes delicious! Definitely doing this again.
Totally agree! This recipe is a game changer. Can’t wait to impress my friends with it!
This salad is incredible! The flavors are so well balanced. My family can’t get enough!
It sounds good n all but I dunno about that five-spice thing. What is it even?
I totally agree! This salad has become a weekly favorite in our house too!
So easy and so good! My kids loved it, will definitely make again.
Good salad, bad grilling technique. Gotta master that grill first. LOL.
This is like something I would eat in a fancy restaurant! Loved it!
I agree! This salad looks super fancy! I might try it for a dinner party. Thanks for sharing!
Not a fan of the honey in the marinade, made it a bit too sweet for my taste.
Where’s the dressing? I thought it would be in the recipe. Missed something, I guess.
I see what you mean! I thought the same thing at first, but maybe it’s supposed to be a fresh salad with just that marinade? I used a vinaigrette I had at home.
Dressing? What you need dressing for? The beef is flavorfull enough! Just toss everything in with that meat and enjoy!
Just okay. I’ve had better salads. Too many flavors clashing.
