Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin steak
  • 1 pound brussels sprouts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp thyme dried
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  • In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, dried thyme, salt, and pepper.
  • Brush the olive oil mixture onto the beef sirloin steak. Place steak on preheated grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or to desired doneness. Remove steak from grill and let rest for 5 minutes.
  • While the steak is resting, prepare the brussels sprouts. Cut off the ends of the brussels sprouts and slice them in half.

Um, what’s thyme? Can I use something else? Help me, please!

I mean, how can you go wrong with steak?? But the sprouts were eh.

Steak is life! But yeah, I feel you on the sprouts. They can be hit or miss. Did you try seasoning them more?

Honestly, I love brussels sprouts! But some people just can’t appreciate their flavor. Grilling them is the best way!

Is it really necessary to let the steak rest? I didn’t and it was still good. Just saying!

Great, but I forgot to buy thyme and used oregano instead. Still tasty!

Oregano isn’t too bad, glad it still turned out tasty! I’ll have to try that next time. 😄

I dunno if that substitution works. Thyme’s flavor is different. Hope it wasn’t too weird!

I think the olive oil is too much! My steak was swimming in it. Maybe just a tbsp next time?

Brussels sprouts??? Yuck! I used green beans instead and still turned out great! 😁

I tried it but my sprouts burned. I think I left them on too long. Not sure if I’ll try again.

Don’t give up! Just keep an eye on them next time. I’m sure it will turn out better!

Is it really necessary to grill? Can’t I just fry the beef instead?

    1. User avatar damion.smith75 says:

      4 stars
You can fry it, but grilling gives it a unique flavor! Give it a try!

Too much oil! Next time I’ll use less. Might try with chicken.

    1. 4 stars
I think the oil really helps keep the beef juicy! But yeah, chicken could work too. Just adjust the cooking time!

    2. User avatar Andrea Corwin says:

Less oil? I dunno, man. Looks good as is! But chicken might not have the same flavor…
